Megumi

After crying her eyes out the young woman sat and began to think. Everything she'd been through the choices she's made. It all came to her as she thought of what she wanted to do. What would be best.

"I guess I have two options but either one will get me killed. I guess I have to choose what I die for. I could die saying myself or I could die saying him. He gave up his family for me. They didn't have to help me or give me a place to stay. If anything I owe them my life, but I could honestly careless. Still I love him if I have to die why not for love."

Misao

"Go back to your woman we are finish here. As soon as the snow metals we head out in search for raccoon girl. If she is dead before I get to her I will kill you slowly."

"If she dies it not my fault Kaoru didn't give me choice in where she was going. So you should just off her killer." The glare the small woman gave him said more than her words.

"Oh he's after I kill you. Now, everyone to your rooms before I change my mind and head out in the frozen hell."

Aoshi took his weasel by the hand leading her to his room. Something told him his little ninja would keep still unless she was busy with other things. Once out of sight he quickly removed her clothes to ensure she'd stay in his room.

Kaoru and Kenshin

Walking back to the house he saw foot prints in the snow and shook his head. He should have known she would disobey him. This just gave him a reason to punish her later. At the rate she was going it would be during dinner. They could always eat in his room.

Hearing soft foot step he turns and headed for the barn. Knowing she would just hid and not being crazy enough to ride in this wealth. Kenshin simply fallowed her in and waited. His love was so much fun.

"What am I to do now? I thought Bon…Kenshin was the only one I had to worry about. Guess I was wrong. Maybe there's a town nearby that will take me in."

"Or you could stay right here."

"Why don't you just let me go?"

"Because of how despite you are to leave…. I am a known killer of men and here you are trying to save me. Not many women are like that. Some would lead me to my fate."

"Maybe I see the man behind the killer."

"Now I hope you know I can't just let you go. Kio I told you already what would happen."

"I don't want this I" Kenshin placed his finger on her lips silencing her.

"I will show you that love doesn't always hurt." Her face expression told that she believed otherwise still he gave her a wolf grin. "Plus you promised and I will make sure you keep your promise."

Yahiko

Sitting in his room once again he went over all the information he'd gather. Old rooster head was in deep shit when it came to Kaoru and that fox lady had information they needed. But bad boy wasn't up for getting it out of her.

Weasel girl knew more than she was telling about Battousai but ice man wasn't letting her say what. If the sounds he head was any indication he wasn't taking any chances.

If there was something about the Battousai that Kaoru needed to know but didn't. Yahiko prayed it had nothing to do with love. Her heart had been through so much with Sano and her father's death. Losing the only home she knew just to start running.

His family was in deep shit but he was happy they were all safe. For now.

Sano and Megumi

Sano walked into the room with his head down. Only looking up when he smelled food and remembered he was hungry. Searching the room he found both food and his lady love. As his eyes studied her the young fighter saw she'd come up something. Good or bad he couldn't tell.

"They brought food… I wanted to wait before I ate."

"So you waited for me?" It sounded like a dumb question once he said it out loud.

"Yes I wanted to talk to you." A sad smile scared her face as Megumi forced herself to stare into his eyes.

Shaking his head Sano turned his head. Not being able to look into her burning eyes any longer. "If it's about earlier."

"I have made a decided. I am going to help you." Megumi crossed the space between them holding his face between her hands. The fox spend the whole day thinking about their lives and he was going to look her in the eye.

"I thought they'd kill you if you didn't kill me." Sano's voice broke and he fell to his knees and held her stomach as he cried. He wanted to believe he would protect her but those plans often blew up in his face. He didn't want to watch Kaoru or Megumi die because of him.

"I have been afraid since I got mixed into that family. Either way I will die, but I would die a thousand deaths if it meant protecting you. If I have to die it will be for love."

Sano pulled the dark haired woman so that she too was on her knees. Moving hair behind her ear he kissed her hair.

"I love you."
