"He is the reason all of this started. If it wasn't for him none of this would have happen."

That statement started Kaour's mind to run, there had to be more to this story and she would find out. All she had to do was push her buttons. "I don't believe that."

"He killed your mother."

Now….

Kaoru couldn't believe that just came out of her mouth. Her mind was spinning with question with no one to answer them. While she was upset there was one thing Misao didn't think of when telling her. Why the hell did it take her so long if she knew who her mother's killer was?

"So you are just telling me now. You knew the whole time but you never said anything. When its convent for you. You tell me the killer of my mother. Well sorry to bust your bubble but I love him and even if he did kill my mother he is not that same person."

"You didn't need to know until now. He is called the Battousai for a reason. Had we told you before you would have been killed?"

"Get out you have no right to sit here and give me bull shit reasons as to why you withheld this from me. In the end I love him and can't go back in time to stop him from killing my mother."

"So you don't care that he killed your mother."

"Would you have care if it was your precious Aoshi? If before he met you he killed your mother. Who to him at the time was another order? Or what if you'd kill Aoshi's mother? Would that stop him from loving you?"

Misao didn't say a word. She simple stood up and walked to the door. Truly she never wanted to fight with her but she thought she would want to know that the man she loved destroyed her world. If he hadn't killed her mother then Kaoru would have had a happy life.

Opening the door she saw the others being stared down by her lover. Normally she would join him in punishing them but she was too upset. Kaoru most likely hated her now and after not seeing her in forever this blow took more than her breath away.

Hiko

Sitting in his room he began to remember his past. Ruka he always believed if she'd just loved him then she would have been alive today. In all honesty he couldn't kill her. That day he told them to fall back and that it was the wrong woman.

But his young student didn't believe him hearing stories of his love for the Blue Rose he and a few men went to the house. It had to be around dawn because of when he found them. She had his blade through her chest barely missing her heart. But she in the end had made the killing blow to her opponent. He was laying there dead.

Moving to her side he kissing her lisp knowing this was the last time he would be able to do so. She smiled figuring he was supposed to be the one who killed her. Her last words to him were do not tell. Without question he knew she meant her daughter.

Calling for her husband who he knew wasn't far he allowed the family to have their final moment together. The death look that the man held mirrored his. Even if they didn't know one another the two held love for her. That was enough for them to understand one another.

"Take the child west far from here. I will tell them she is dead and had no child. Protect her and never tell her of what happened here. I promised this to Ruka and I will keep my promise."

The man said nothing but nodded his head.

Hiko left with his heart shattered. His love lost to him forever all because he didn't love him. The muscle beating in his chest cried out why. Knowing it would never receive an answer.

Kenshin

His body would move or respond to him. It was making him upset because he really wanted to touch his sweet Kaoru. When he heard what had happen he was afraid at first. In truth he didn't know if he'd been the one to kill her mother. In his youth he killed many without knowing it. It was like he would black out sometimes.

After he heard her word of defense his heart cried. Never had anyone voiced the other side of an assassin. In truth most times it was like that. You killed without questioned.

Most importantly she didn't blame him. Others would have killed him where he lay but his love saw the truth. Killing him wouldn't bring her mother back. If he did it there was a high possibility that he was fallowing orders.

After hearing the other woman walk out his mind became foggy and he surrendered to sleep.

Kaoru

Her heart was heavy but she meant what she said. She loved Kenshin and what he did in the past was in the past and could be changed. Now her loved needed to wake up so she could see his eyes whatever color they chose to be when he woke up she didn't care. She just needed him.

Moving over she kissed him and laid back down praying he would be awake when she woke up. At the moment with her world falling apart she really missed him.
