Hey, howzit goin', my name's Sam, Sam Thomas to be exact. So I'm only 12, going to be in 8th grade next year. My family, not to big, the only people in my family are my mom. My mom told me that my dad left when I was... Atually she said my dad never came back to see her. Now I have a stepdad, though, I think that my mom regrets that now. Well, all I know is that she really loves me. She would give me as much money as I needed to get into college. On the topic before, school, in 6th grade I was a Greek mythology nerd. Any book that I could get my hands on, I read immediately. I still read a lot in 7th grade, but, most of my friends still say that I read too much, and that should play with them. I usually said no, but this one time I said "sure, why not?" I actually had a lot of fun. When I got back home the front window was broken. I didn't think I saw anything, but I definitely heard something. There was the loudest screeches I have ever heard. I wasn't thinking at the time, so I just ran in there. I ran up the stairs, and saw... my mom... on the floor, there was blood all over the walls, the floor, the couch. " mom! What happened? Who did this!?" I heard my stepfather downstairs saying something like "No please don't... don't hurt me..." I wasn't paying attention to that though, all my concern was in my mom. " it was so sudden," she murmured, " there was... just a huge dog, or something." "What?" I said in confusion. "It just attacked me, now it's probably attacking your dad." As she said that, thumps were coming up the stairs. Then I saw what did this, it WAS huge, but most on all, it had blood all over itself. I don't know what came over me, but all I said was" you'll pay for this." I felt a warmth on my hand, and pulled out a sword of fire out of nowhere. The thing was just gone, I felt the anger seap away, and I fell to my knees. I crawled over to my mom, I knew that she was going to die. But she wanted to say one last thing. "I think the you should know who your real father is." She whispered. I asked, tears welling up in my I eyes "w-who is it?" "It's, it's..." she said taking her last breath. "No, no this can't be happening." I took it upon myself and just left the my house. I ran as far I could, but I didn't look back.
