His golden eyes burned into the hair of the woman he was lying beside. Her midnight hair hiding her face from his view though he was the killing of thousands of men he feared her.
When she woke her reaction could be many things. Most importantly it wouldn't be loving. He'd faked his death in order for Tomeo to let her guard down. With eyes no longer on him Kenshin wrote to Raizo once again. When they traveled to his home he'd shed light on the dealing that occurred in their absence.
Tomeo would pay for her crimes without someone to shield her. In battle she always had him. For protection she had her brother. Her loving husband handled business as well as her other needs. Never had she felt the after math of her action because of them.
His love for her struck fear in the heart of her opponents. He allowed himself to be a demon among men for his love of her. Knowing she never belonged to him yet he still felt for her. Now that he was free protecting another she thought to take that away from him.
Knowing Kaoru held no threat to them or their way of life. Only wanting to live her life in peace with her family that was all he could ever want for her.
Said woman curled closer to his body but her heart beat was off. His koi was awake and from the feel of things she was thinking of attacking him. Kenshin prayed her mind wasn't so lost that she wouldn't know him. He couldn't have been too late to save her.
"If you bit me Kio I assure you, you will be too tired and sore to kill Tomeo."
"Kenshin" Though his name escaped her lips it sounded like no. Fear founded true in her voice and that displeased him greatly.
"I'm here Kaoru I'm here."
Lifting her head Kaoru reached her hands out to touch his face. Tears sliding down her face without her knowledge. Softly she pulled his lips to hers kissing carefully as to prove to herself that he was real. Before long their kissed changed with passion and fire.
Everything was perfect until he felt her teeth on his lips. Pulling away he started into her blue eyes and saw hate. The Blue Rose was back and this time her blade was aimed at him.
"Why!…Do you know what you did to me?"
"I didn't know that this would be a lie?"
"You fake your death and you did not know it would be a lie."
"The doctor woman came to me and asked me if I would die for you. They commissioned her to kill either you or me. She came to me and I said I would die for you. I woke up the next day and they informed me of what happened. Kaoru I would never hurt you in such a way. But if I came to youTomeo would have fled."
"There is nothing you can say that will make up for what happened. I killed without thought or care. I almost killed Yahiko. He is like my little brother. You didn't see the look he gave me after I attacked him. Who else knew?"
"Only Sano and the doctor."
Hiko and Aoshi
Aoshi sat beside Hiko. The older man called him to decide what would be done with Tomeo. If they allowed Kaoru to kill her then her brother would be out for blood. Stopping said woman would work IF they didn't think Kaoru would find a way to kill her behind their backs. The courts only said they would decide the woman's still her death would leave her brother. He would become a problem if they didn't deal with him now.
Aoshi knew this would end badly no matter what they chose. The only good thing was that they were finally out of this organization. So long as they stayed out of their business the group would be left alone. That meant he could start a family if he wanted. Now wasn't the time to think of that family planning would have to wait.
"Where is the Blue Rose?"
"That is not her name."
"Kaoru then"
"I don't know. We lost track of her earlier."
"How do you know she is not dead?"
"Kaoru is stronger than that. She is your beloved's child."
"True so are we sending that woman to her death for will we spare her."
"I think Kaoru should be the judge. If she wants the woman dead then allow her to kill her. Should the woman's brother try to infer then we will kill him."
"Fine I will go in search for her"
"Why?"
"It's better than going to kill the woman before her time. Staying too close to her will ensure her death by my hands."
"As well as yours by Kaoru."
Kenshin and Kaoru
Kaoru removed herself from her lover. The loathing she felt for him flaring with a vengeance. Even if he thought it was for the best he still allowed her to think him dead. She cried and lost her mind. Hurting those she loved and cared for all her life for a man she didn't know. A killer that stole her heart and even now with all the hate she held for hin she couldn't retrieve her heart.
"Kio are you mad with me or yourself?"
"Are you losing it in your old age?"
"Still I think you hate yourself for loving me so much."
"I will never love you as I did. I can't allow that to happen."
"You speak as if I wouldn't have done the same. Have you forgotten what lead me to your house? I lost myself in my feeling for someone who was not mine to love. I gave her up perused you and if it was you who was dead this place would reek with the scent of death and blood."
"Words that all they are."
"Really? Then let us make another deal Koi. When this is over and we leave this place I will allow you to fight me. If you win I will leave your side if that is your choice. However if I win you will marry me and we will raise our child together."
"What child."
"In your madness I know you can't tell but love you are with child. That is the only reason I remained dead while you went insane."
"You know I don't believe you. Either way I will not lose to you."
"I will not lose you."
Hiko chose that moment to interfere. His stupid student would only anger the girl and he needed her in her right mind to deiced Tomeo's fate.
"I see nothing can rid me of you boy."
"It is good to see you as well master."
"Woman comes with me. We have much to discuss."
"I'm afraid she won't be leaving this room. The two of you want Tomeo dead and I know for a fact you will aide in killing her."
"I was given orders to decide her fate. I think that should be done by the one done most harm to. So Bl-Kaoru I ask you. Should she live or die?"
Kaoru's blue eyes shined with fury,"You ask as if it is a question. I want that bitch…."
Megumi, Sano, Yahiko
The three sat outside looking at the night sky. No one spoke it but they felt dread in the air. Each prayed it had nothing to do with their blue eyed friend. Hopefully this meant she'd found Kenshin alive and beating the shit out of him.
When the love birds headed inside Yahiko waited a few minutes before leaving. Taking his time he stopped at his father's grave. Well he saw him as his father, truthfully he was only Kaour's but he treated him like one.
Sitting down the spoke, "Father I am lost. Sister will hate me when she comes back and finds out I knew. Still I understand that she would have acted differently if she knew he was alive. I just hope we did the right thing because she is all I got. Sano will leave with that fox and I'll be alone like last time. I know it isn't right. I should want her happy with Kenshin but I want my sister back more than anything."
Whipping his face rose to leave.
"I know you watch her father. Please bring her back to me. Even if she is different just bring her back…home."
I know so many want and expected more out of this chp. And honestly I did to but at the moment life is kicking my ass. Like 1-800- losing my mind. So I promise all of my readers I will make the next chp amazing. R&R…until next time…p.s. I don't think I will keep Kaoru pregnant. I would like opinion to help me decide.
