I don't own Rurouni Kenshin, and am very sorry for the late update.
Men held him down as he fought to regain his freedom. None could call him a man but a furious beast beating into the guards who restrained him. He wouldn't stop until he had her back in his arms. Until they told him what was happening. Until these things came to pass his ferry would compare to that of the Battousai.
That Morning
She heard her lover's voice in the distance. Anger was her first thought but she also heard fear knowing that it wouldn't do well to have him in such a mood alone. She called for the man to help her out of bed. The night held no rest for her.
Kenshin's eyes soften as he gazed upon his beloved. Knowing her body was in no condition to deal with the situation at hand he hurried to her side.
"What has you up and so damn noisy at this hour?"
Upon hearing her voice he looked back into the room. Forgetting the men he was address altogether, "They have news and wished to wake up. After a while I lost my temper. I don't want to start killing every fool that comes asking for your attention but I can only take so much." While he replied he made his way to his darling lover.
"Kenshin you should have just woke me. That would have saved a lot of trouble." Her anger was spiking at being treated like a porcelain doll.
The red head took the sight of her anger as cute. She was so small he couldn't help himself, "Not if they plan to keep you up all day. Your body needs rest."
"I am not that far along and you will not start babying me Himura." With mention of the baby he moved his hand to her tummy. Knowing full she wasn't that far along for them to feel the movement of the child.
"Upon this matter Koi we must disagree." His eyes flashed amber as he stole a kiss forgetting the men awaiting them at the door.
They playful banter was short lived as she remember the men at her door. "Battousai now isn't the time. I promise we will continue this later, but not now."
"You will not go far from this room and I will accompany you to this meeting." It still amazed her how he could switch emotions so quickly. His voice went from seductive to serious in seconds. Even if she knew those old farts couldn't take her. It would do better to have him by her side. It wouldn't do well to over exert herself and harm the baby.
In The Meeting Room
Kaoru sat in the room ready to kill the lot of them. They thought her fragile for her diction and that annoyed her as much as the early wake up call. However if this made her fragile than the alternative make them monsters. Luckily for her Kenshin was there to put them in their place. (A/N these are the new council members)
"I believe you have forgotten to whom you speak. If anyone is to come against her again they will answer to my blade." Kenshin was at his limit with these fools.
Presenting a cocky smile Hojo replied. "Do you honestly believe you can scare us with empty threats?"
His amber eyes shone true as his gaze fell upon the man freezing his body with his stare.
"I believe you have forgotten who I am. Just because all of you were born in these positions doesn't mean I won't kill you. Hiko put her in charge and if any want to go against him be my guest. If you are lucky he will kill you. For heaven will shut its gates and hell turns its head for what I have planned."
The entire room was quite as Kenshin turned to address Kaoru the man fell forward shaking with fear.
"Leave and remove Tomoe's husband from her room. I don't want him to be here for the sentencing."
They did as told.
Inside the prison
Men held him down as he fought to regain his freedom. None could call him a man but a furious beast beating into the guards who restrained him. He wouldn't stop until he had her back in his arms. Until they told him what was happening. Until these things came to pass his ferry would compare to that of the Battousai.
In the meeting room
Tomeo held her head down. Not wanting to see the woman in front of her or the man who sat beside her. Even though she reminded herself that she was married apart of her felt betrayed.
Still it was her fault for going so far and not listening to her husband. Who somehow still loved her dearly. His screams could still be heard from this room. The sound chipped her heart bit by bit.
However a part of her was glade he wouldn't as they told her she would die. The look on his face would be the final note on the funeral bell. That sound she didn't want to hear just as his face she didn't want to see.
With what little courage she had left she raise her head to stare into the eyes of the woman who held her fate.
Kaour's eyes didn't falter they remain with the woman now looking at her. Just the sight of her made her hand itch for her blade. But it had no place here. Still old habits die hard.
"I know why you think you are here. But I have a question for you before I deliver my verdict."
"Yes my Lady"
That statement made the blue eyed woman laugh as her beloved pinched her though she made no sound that she felt it just a mental note to get him later.
"Beside revenge what did you hope to gain through all of this?" Her voice held no emotion not wanting Tomeo's answer to be decided by her mood.
"Nothing"
Kaoru raised an eye brow, "I want a true answer or I'll behead your husband first."
"Nothing my Lady." She bowed lower until her face was on the floor.
"Explain." The Blue Rose was scratching at the door, but Kaoru kept her back. Such actions would only hinder the situation.
Taking a moment she added, "Revenge was all I wanted. However I took it too far. If I'd just listen and left things alone then I would have been sitting were you are instead of being imprisoned."
"So you still say you have gained nothing." Her voice held a double meaning but the other woman had yet to catch it.
"Yes"
"You lie." Her words were short and cold.
Tomeo's eyes turned cold feeling at though she was being played. Lifting her upper body in rage "You said that you see now you went too far. That you should have left things as they were and yet you still feel as though you have gained nothing."
Remembering herself she took a second to calm herself, "My Lady what is the point in this."
A cruel smile graced her face "My point is that you have learned your lesson because I am now faced with a dilemma that cause me rethink my late plans."
"I do not understand."
"We are pregnant."
At the grave yard
Sano watched as Yahiko talked to his father. It warmed his heart because he doubts their sister would be by to speak to him any time soon.
Thinking back on that day the old man had to of known he would die. Still he didn't tell anyone. Some would say he was tired of fighting a losing battle with his dojo's belief. But that couldn't be the case.
If he was a betting man, and he was, he'd bet that he was going to go down like his late wife. Fighting to protect their child at all cost.
At the time she wouldn't have understood such a need but maybe now. Just possible she can see why things played out the way they did. If that could happen then perhaps everyone could forgive themselves.
Yahiko that he wasn't strong enough, Kaour's that she cause so much trouble for being born, Kenshin that he took so many lives for a woman who wasn't his, Megumi that she helped make a drug that killed many people. Finally Sano Sangara he would forgive himself for handling things the way he did. Breaking Missy's heart and playing with that love so he wouldn't lose her.
Even though Sano gambled he still wished the old man was still here. They all needed a father to talk to.
I know many have figured my hint just do tell anyone. I am sorry I haven't update in a loooooooong time. But I will try to do better. I ask once more that you leave a review so I can be encouraged to continue writing. Until next time!
