Chapter 9
Aftermath & Revelations.
AN: Hey, i know it's been awhile but as i told you before, i have a life outside fanfic. But this is a overdue update. So enjoy this chapter.
Everyone in GCPD were working their butts off in finding the missing Mayor candidate Moira Queen and her daughter Thea. Well, most of them anyway.
"Bullock!" Detective Harvey Bullock looked up saw Commissioner Gordon with a disapproving look .he was holding a half eaten donut in his hand in GCPD and. Now was not the time to be lazy and eat dounts, "I thought that you were helping Anderton in finding Moira and Thea Queen."
"It was a dead end Comish, Nothin' much to go on to be honest." Bullock admitted,
"Don't listen to him, gov." Anderton said as she joined her colleague and boss, "He's just being a lazy bugger."
"Hey, For your information, luv…" Bullock retorted, using the British slang for retaliation, "I am not lazy. I am a fine cop and an upstanding citizen thank you very much."
"Meg, I hope that you did some police work unlike your partner." Gordon remarked,
"Yes Gov. 911 just picked up a call reporting shots fired at a game store in diamond district. Witnesses stated that they saw two females; one of them is in her late teens and unknown male in his late 20s. The CSI team identified the body as a member of the Yakuza that participated in Royal Hotel attack. They fled the scene right after he was killed." She informed,
"What was the cause of death?" he questioned,
"He was stabbed. Puncture wounds on his chest. Judging by the size of the stab wounds, the coroner estimated in the report I was given, were claws."
"Claws?" Gordon asked with a raised eyebrow,
"Yes."
"Terrific. Looks like we got another freak in town." Bullock remarked, "And it's an animal this time."
"By the way, Montoya called. She told me that they've found bodies o found bodies of officers that were supposed to be on watch in a dumpster outside of the Royal hotel couple of hours ago." Anderton added; ignoring Bullock's remark Gordon rubbed his chin in deep thought contemplating of what to do next. Interrogating the Yakuza would be pointless, they wouldn't get much information from them since they are trained to be silent about their cilents. As he was thinking, a police officer walked over to him with urgent message.
"Commissioner. We've found them. Moira and Thea Queen are in the 9th Precinct. Old Gotham." He informed
"Take me to them officer." Gordon demanded,
"Yes, sir."
"I don't understand, where are we headed?" Thea asked for the tenth time today as they were walking down the street to 9th precinct in the old Gotham district
"GCPD honey." Moira replied,
"Why?"
"Because I know someone there." Jericho replied, trying to remember where was the precinct. Right, pass the intersection and turn left. "And I promise he's one of the good guys."
"I don't know. I kind of have a bad history with the police." Thea reminded,
"Well, Let me tell you about your predicament right now, sweetheart." He wasn't in the mood to hear the history Thea has with the law. "What hotel are you staying at right now?"
"Uh, Riverside Hotel." She said,
"If you wanna head back to the R, it'll take about 4 hours of walking if you count out the rush hour which add another 2 hours and traffic lights." he told them in complete honesty. "Do you really wanna go through all that?"
"Didn't think so. Come on." Jericho motioned them to follow him to the precinct.
"What Happened at the train?"
"Yakuza. They followed us from the royal hotel. Had to hold them off somehow."
What did you do?"
"Doesn't matter. Let's get you two to safety." He ignored the question and they stepped through the doors of the 12th precinct and headed to the reception.
"May I help you, sir?"
"Would you like to contact Commissioner James Gordon? I have Moira and Thea Queen with me." That statement registered in her mind because the second he mentioned their names, the receptionist picked up the phone and made a call to the Commissioner in a hurry. 2 minutes later , she informed that Commissioner will be here in 10 minutes, max. that was all he needed to hear. Jericho headed back to the Queens while they sat down on their chairs given by the officers.
"Mrs. Queen?" Moira looked up to the man who had saved them on more than more than one occasion. "Commissioner will be here in 10 minutes."
"Thank you." Jericho nodded in acknowledgement as he took a seat himself Jericho sighed in relief once he settled in.
The shot wound wasn't hurting much as it was before which indicated his healing factor started to kick in. shell casing popped out of his chest and before it landed on the floor, he caught it swiftly and put it in his pants pocket.
"Is it always like this in Gotham?" Thea asked
"Pretty much."Jericho confirmed,
"Mrs. Queen?" Mrs. queen looked up to see man white haired man in his 50's with glasses. She assumed that was the Commissioner of the GCPD.
"Commissioner Gordon. It's a pleasure to meet you in person."
"You too although I wish we would've met under different cirumstances."
"So do I. Now do you want to make statement now or should we do it tomorrow regarding the Royal Hotel attack?" Gordon asked,
"I want to give my statement right now, Commissioner." she answered without hesitation,
"Bullock. Get her statement: Now."
"Got it Comish." Bullock obliged, "Madam. Come with me, please." Mrs. Queen followed Bullock to his desk but before she did that, she asked the Commissioner about something that troubled her mind for a some time.
"Has my son been notified,Commissioner?"
"He's on his way as we speak, Mrs. Queen." Moira nodded in acknowledgement as she went to give her statement to Detective Bullock. Detective Anderton went to check on Thea.
"Commissioner?" Gordon turned to see his future son in law and he was surprised of his appearance in the precinct. What was he doing here?
"You might as well call your daughter while you're at it. I have a feeling that she might be pissed at me."
"Oliver!" Thea exclaimed in relief as she ran over and hugged her big brother who just entered the precinct.
"Where's mom?"
"She's giving her statement." Thea answered,
"Are you ok?"
"Just shaken up." she admitted,
"She's not the only one." Jericho said stepping out of the shadows. He'd just finished explaining about what happened to the Commissioner excluding the claws and the killings.
"This is Jericho, he was the guy that saved me and mom from the Yakuza." she introduced
"Can I talk to him?"
"Ollie. Be nice." Thea advised, Oliver shook his head as he bobbed his head at Jericho to follow him. they went outside of the police station.
"Are you alright, Jericho? You took a nasty shot to the chest at the hotel."
"I'll live." He replied, massaging his chest to prove his point that he'll live another day. "Where's Dig?"
"He's on the phone with Felicity." Oliver answered, "What happened?"
"The yakuza followed me and your family all way to the train station at Diamond District. They even hopped on the same train with "
"Why would they attack my mother? Doesn't fit their M.O." Oliver wondered,
"Unless they were paid to." Jericho pointed it out ; Oliver knew that he was right on that money. The Yakuza wouldn't do this if unless they were paid in advance.
"I know who was the mastermind that orchestrated it."
Before Oliver did have a chance to ask him who it was, a redheaded female in a wheelchair cleared her throat.
"Not to intrude your conversation but I what the hell were you, Jericho!" she exclaimed, Jericho exhaled a breath through his nose closing his eyes as he knew the voice. Oh yeah, she's pissed.
"We talk later, Oliver. Get back to your family." Oliver nodded in understanding as he went back to the police station. Jericho mentally prepared for the lecture that was about to be lectured by the Hurricane Barbara. "Hey, Barb."
"Do you have any idea how scared I was? you took a shotgun blast to the chest which could've and then you took off leaving me all worried and sick about you!"
"Yeah, I notice right now." Jericho muttered, feeling the anger radiating off her.
"I've called you not once, not twice but five times. Check your cellphone."
Jericho did just that as he took out his cellphone and checked out on any missing calls and to his displeasure he saw five unanswered calls.
"Uh oh." he
"Yes, uh oh." She recited his words crossing her arms over her chest as she waited for him to come up with an explanation.
"Well lucky for you I have a good explanation. I was protecting the Queen family."
"While putting your own life on the line after the hell you went through a couple weeks ago?" Barbara sighed as her anger faded away and expressed worry."I lost you once and I'm not going lose you again."
"You're not gonna lose me again, Barbara." Jericho stated as he approached her and kneeled in front of her. "Like I told you yesterday, I'm not going anywhere. Not now, not never." He took her hand and placed it on his chest letting her feel his heartbeat to prove his point. "A lot of people have tried to kill me but I'm still here."
"it's different this time. what they did They can hurt you." Barbara reminded,
"I'd like to see then try then. If I'm going down, I'm taking them with me."
Jericho looked out to the city on the balcony of his apartment a few hours later. He had a deep frown on his face wondering what kind of devious plan Paul set up, knowing he had 6 years to prepare this. What would do the most damage and what will be the most devastating on your enemy? Sun Tzu once quoted in his book The Art of War "To know your enemy you must become your enemy." Meaning that he became the enemy of his enemy which was Jericho. But why would he attack Oliver's mother and family? it doesn't make any sense. But then again, this is paul. When has he ever made sense? A knock on the door interrupted his thinking. He left the balcony closing the door behind him as he went to answer the front door. he opened it to reveal Oliver, Felicity and Diggle by the door.
"How did you get this address?" Jericho asked,
"Your sister." He stepped aside for them to come in, he closed the front door.
"How's your family?" Jericho asked
"They're fine. Mom wanted to say thank you for saving her life from the Yakuza." Oliver replied,
"Mhmm." He acknowledged leading them to the kitchen. "Have a seat."
"We rather stand. If that's okay with you."
"Fair enough."
"So you said you know the guy who attacked my mom at the Royal hotel."
"Yeah and you're not gonna like it." Jericho banged on the kitchen shelf two times and from out of nowhere it showed a 3d picture of a man in his 30's, with a unpleasant grin on his face.
"That's so cool." Felicity whispered taking a closer look at the person in 3d. She knows that this is a serious matter but there's a 3d picture of a real life human. It was very detailed.
"His name's Paul Reynolds. Ex Navy seal, was discharged for disobeying an direct order that resulted in death of a civilian. He joined the League of Assassins a few years before I did." Jericho explained,
"So you knew him?" Oliver questioned,
"Yeah. We weren't exactly best friends back then." He told them crossing his arms, "Hell, most of the members hated him because for his arrogance and recklessness. He was the main reason why I left the League in the first place. Because of what he did in Russia."
"What happened?" Oliver asked the difficult question, Jericho took a deep breath preparing himself what he's about to tell them. they could tell that the events that played in Russia effected him both psychically and emotionally.
"We were supposed to interrogating one of our former contacts in St Petersburg regarding a secret fusion bomb developed by the Russian government. Supposedly He was held up in a safehouse. Heavily guarded. We swiftly took out the guards and went to have a little chat with him to find out the location of the bomb because someone broke in to a lab that contained it and stole it a few days prior. Thanks to Nyssa's interrogating methods, we found out who had it but then we heard some noise from one of the bedrooms. Paul went to check it out and I followed him. by the time I got there, two shots were heard. He exited the masterroom, I found two bodies, a mother and a son."
Felicity gasped covering her mouth as she came to a horrifying conclusion, "No."
"Yes. They were the informant's family. Apparently they stayed in bedroom when it happened. Two gunshots to the head." he explained, pain evident in his eyes.
"The ex informant became a broken man."
"Was that the reason why you left the League?" Oliver asked,
"I had a epiphany because of it. I realized the error of my ways. I was becoming more like my father. Wished that I realized it sooner."
"OK. So what happens if this fusion bomb falls into the wrong hands? what is it capable of?" Felicity
"One fusion bomb for three football fields."
While he was talking, an team of ARGUS militias was hanging by their ropes, laying their eyes on their target talking to some people, their leader pressed his earpiece to contact the commander.
"We have eyes on the target. What are our orders, madam?" the leader
"Flash and clear. But do not kill him. We need him alive."
"Roger. Flash and Clear." He picked up a flash bang while carefully opening the window. He ripped the lid off and tossed it inside to the kitchen.
"So, who has the fusion bomb now, Jericho?" Dig questioned, Jericho shifted again as he debated of whether to tell them or not. On one side they would know who has it, on the other hand, if he reveals the owner, that's gonna raise more questions. After a pause he was about to tell him but right then he spotted a flash bang rolling into the kitchen and it went off, blinding them. Jericho took the worst of it. the ARGUS team burst in and tazed Jericho. Now normally it would be a little bit painful but considering that his skeleton is coated in the strongest metal alloy known to man, the pain scale is off the charts and that's how he experienced it as he fell to the floor convulsing in agonizing discomfort. Oliver tried to come to his aid, but having been off guard with the flashbang, one of Argus militias nailed him in the face with an mp5 easily. The last thing Jericho saw before blacking out was trained guns on him.
"Ah, my eyes." Felicity groaned as she took off her glasses blinking. Her eyes hadn't recovered from that surprise attack moments ago. "My eyesight is never to going be same."
"That's thing about flashbangs." Dig rubbed his eyes, "They're always a sight for sore eyes."
"Who were they?" Oliver asked, Dig showed a piece of fabric with a logo that read Advanced Research Group United Support. Once Oliver saw it, he realized who took Jericho away.
"Damnit." He cursed. Well, this was a quick turn of events.
Jericho's eyes fluttered open when he regained consciousness. That tazer hurt like a bitch. That's one of cons of having your skeleton in metal. They're a goddamn conductor.
He looked around to see where he was. He was in a abandoned warehouse somewhere in Gotham and judging by the structure, it was Gotham Warehouse in Burnley. One of many warehouses used for illegal gun trades, money and so on. he couldn't feel his arms, he looked down to see his hands and leg tied up. he was sitting in the middle of the hangar.
"Mr. Brown.?" Jericho snapped to see a brunette in 30s with the team that took him in afternoon. She had a file papers in her hand "Lyla Michaels from Advanced Research Group United Support. I have a proposition to discuss with you."
"Terrific." Jericho muttered, his day just got better and better.
"Jericho Brown, born in Gotham to Melanie Brown , leader of an activist group. Your mother was killed in a protest march gone bad." Lyla was going through the biography of his life. OH yes, the interesting life of Jericho Brown Or Al Ghul for that matter. God, if this was going to be a boring speech, he would've brought popcorn. But in all seriousness, he knows about ARGUS organization. They were founded by government sometime after the 9/11 attacks in New York. Rumor has it that they have an own task force of Convicted felonies serving life sentences. Other than the fact they're led by Amanda Waller; the head of the ARGUS, there's not enough info about them. They're like ghosts. However he just had a really bad afternoon, so he rudely interrupted her.
"Listen, Ms. Michaels, I had a really bad day ok. So let's just skip the pleasantry bullshit and tell me why did you break in to my home and kidnap me?"
"Hmm. I see you're not in very a talkative mood." Lyla observed, "A few weeks ago security cameras spotted you brutally killing wanted mercenaries at a nightclub in Starling City. SCPD had a warrant arrest but somehow you escaped their clutches. considering the bloodline you're coming from, it's not much of a surprise."
"What can I say? Al Ghuls are famous for their carefulness."
"Sure you are. Now, this is not the first time that happened. You have enough warrant arrests to fill a terrorist group. 12 counts of murder in the first degree, 5 counts of voluntary manslaughter, 3 counts of kidnapping and 7 counts of conspiracy to murder." She whistled in astonishment at the long list, "If I called 911 and handed the police the evidence we gathered over the years you would be trialed and convicted of three life sentences without possibility of parole."
"Well, I'm glad that you did your math."
"But what if you can erase your charges? What if you can sweep them under the carpet?"
"What do you mean?"
"I'm offering you an opportunity. Join our team for one mission and consider the charges erased. And it will also grant you that Nyssa "
"Damnit." Jericho thought, knowing exactly what Lyla Michaels was going with this, Nyssa is on their high value target list at the moment and she knows that.
"And if what I refuse?"
"You're fucked along with your sister."
"Well, unfortunately, I have a counter offer." He broke free of his restraints surprising Lyla and others. they picked a really bad day to do this and now they're gonna suffer the consequences
"Take him down!" Lyla commanded, the team aimed their guns on him, but before they pulled the trigger, Jericho sheathed his claws out and sliced the weapons in two. The leader of the force tried to punch him but Jericho countered with his fist and it made a cracking noise. The commander's wrist was broken and he felt the pain immediately. His face contorted in pain before he was headbutted by the latter. Skull on skull. He fell down to ground out cold. Jericho caught a coming kick from behind and kicked him between the legs and kneed him breaking his nose in the process. He ducked a roundhouse kick and kicked the third one in the face, foot hitting the nose . He collapsed down as blood dripped from his nose. The last one tried to sneak up on him but Jericho felt it, so he turned around and uppercut him sending him several feet away with a broken jaw.
"Ah much better." Jericho uttered, then he approached Lyla with a purpose. " Now. You and I are gonna have a talk. And this time I'm calling the shots."
Jericho whistled a tune 30 minutes later at his apartment building. he was escorting Lyla back to his apartment knowing full well that Oliver and his team were still there.
"Hey. I'm back." Jericho announced, Drawing attention intentionally, Oliver, Felicity and Lyla's ex husband Diggle stepped out of the kitchen.
"Lyla."
"Hey, Johnny. Good to see you." Lyla adressed, Jericho glanced at them back and forth left her and went to fill a glass of water in kitchen
"Lyla and I had a very interesting talk. Apparently, A.R.G.U.S took notice of my murderous activity as of late so they attempted to recruit me into their task force or they would send me to prison for life. But as you can see, it wasn't very successful." He said after gulping water. "God, I really had a bad day."
"You ok?" Oliver asked in concern, Jericho nodded a yes in response.
"I'll live. So, Miss michaels, how about I use your cellphone and make a call to your boss?"
"Out of question." Lyla declinced, Jericho chuckled, shaking his head. he did not like the answer. He got to her face fury blazing in his eyes and to her credit, she didn't back off or flinch.
"Listen, I had a very bad day. As a matter of fact, I had bad couple weeks." He knew that he wasn't thinking straight, but after what he went through, he needed to vent off some steam. "A guy named Dr. Conners kidnapped me and locked me up for three weeks. He turned me into an animal. And then I broke out and I was being followed by his men. I killed them in cold blood. Then when I got back home a few days later, the first thing that happened, I got shot in the chest by the Yakuza at the Royal Hotel. So please forgive me if I may sound rude to you but I've been trying to not lose my temper right now and rip your head off. I'm asking you one more time. Give. Me. Your. Cellphone." They stared at each other's eyes for what it felt like forever only it lasted two or three minutes.
"Her number is on speed dial. Press 1." Lyla told him as he was given her cellphone. he pressed h
"Well, that went smooth." Felicity muttered quietly,
"I heard that." Jericho said, earning a blush from her getting caught.
"Agent Michaels. Did you complete the mission?"
"Funny thing, ms Waller. There were some complications which deemed the mission incomplete." Jericho said,
"Jericho Al Ghul. To what do I own the displeasure of having this call?"
"Well, Considering the day I had, I would like to know why you decided to send your goons to fetch me for you?" Jericho asked,
"There is no need for any unpleasantness."
"That's rich coming from you. Considering the fact you have a task force of convicts serving life sentences for your own gain." Jericho snorted,
"That is none of your concern. It's classified."
"Really? By sending them on suicide missions is none of my concern? And don't use the it's classified excuse. I've heard of it plenty times before."
"I better watch my words if I were you, Al Ghul."
"Ooh, i'm quaking in my boots."
"That's problem with you AL Ghuls. You always think that you can save this planet by cleansing it. That you are gods amongst mortals. But I know the truth. You are sociopaths with a god complex. You are a plague that must be eradicated before you commit genocide."
"Sweetheart, you picked a really bad day to give me this speech." Jericho snarled,
"Are you threatening me?"
"No, I'm warning you. If you try to pull that stunt again, I'm coming to wherever you're at. You better believe me when I say this: There won't be any talking." Jericho ended the call and handed it back to Lyla. "She's a ray of sunshine isn't she?"
The next day, Jericho was driving in his recently bought mustan to the Bowery 20 minutes later because there's a strip club called The Golden Fish. Yakuza mostly operates there, running illegal weapons trade, drug operations and prostitution. They muscled most of the small gang out of the city and are in a big rival war with the Falcone crime family since their arrival. he parked outside of the club and took a glance at the club
"Alright then." he stepped out of the mustang and went to enter the club only to be stopped by a bouncer at the entrance.
" ちょっと待つ. "(wait a minute.) Bouncer said in Japanese, putting his hand on Jericho's chest and that was the first mistake he made. The second mistake came soon after "Do you have an invitation, American?"
"Yes."
The bouncer were sent through the door to the club out cold. The guests looked at the bouncer then at Jericho with a blank look on his face.
"I had a invite." Jericho shrugged, the guests returned to whatever they were doing while some of them went to the backdoor that led to the manager's office. He looked around the place and it wasn't much of a surprise of well managed the club is except that it wasn't. he's surprised that they haven't been shut down by the health inspector judging from the smell that reeks of piss and shit. But from his experience, they have probably deep pockets. Nothing didn't surprise him anymore. He spotted a couple of wannabe female singers in weird dresses and well, they weren't exactly the greatest singers of all time.
Jericho sniffed as a familiar scent filled his nostrils. His heightened senses was trying to place it. he walked past waitress and dancers following the scent to the bathroom where he saw a guy with a bandaged shoulder taking a piss on a urinal. it made sense once he layed his eyes on the guy's tattoos. This was one of the guys that attacked the royal hotel yesterday. Jericho walked up on him and tapped on his shoulder.
そ れだけで第二ホールド。私はほとんど終わりだ、馬鹿." (Hold it just a second. i'm almost done, you idiot." the guy said, Jericho did not have the patience or the time for any pissing. So he grabbed him from behind and dragged him to the sinks. He rammed his head face first into the mirror.
" 何だ一体オウ、男!" (Ow what the fuck, man!) he exclaimed in japanese of how rude his supposed friend was to him but when he was turned around and saw Jericho, he had a look of horror, memories of him stabbing his shoulder with the claws flashed for a sec before it vanished. "You."
"Yeah me. Now, take me to your boss." Jericho demanded
"You not make me talk, Galjin." he would regret his answers seconds later as the claws drew out of Jericho's left fist and was drilled into his injured shoulder.
"Yeah, that's what they all say before the screaming starts." Jericho pointed, the pain was unbearable but the yakuza henchmen wouldn't cave in although his eyes was telling Jericho otherwise. So he twisted his claws to the left shoulder slowly to add some more pain and sure enough, the screaming started.
Jericho kicked the door to the managers office open where the boss was at the moment, blood stains on his shirt. Three men were inside, they all looked up to see him with a smirk on his face.
"Who's the boss of this club?" the two of the men pointed to the man in the middle and then pulled out their guns. They fired bullets at him who dodged them swiftly and took out the muscles with some strong punches. Once he was done with them, he went to catch the boss who tried to escape during the fight. Now was the time for interrogation.
"Please! Let me down, American!" he pleaded for his life, he was hung 15 ft. from the concrete below on the rooftop of the building. Jericho clung on his foot with an bored look on his face.
"Look, all I want to know is who paid you to go after the Queen family at the ball yesterday and if you tell me now I might let you go." Jericho said,
"I'll tell you, I'll tell you!" he relented much to Jericho's gratification, "two men in suits barged into my office few days ago. Wanted to order a hit. Paid lots of money in advance.
"Who are they?" Jericho sneered,
"I do not know, I've never met them before. They never told me their names."
"Really?" Jericho loosened his grip on purpose to let him know that he's hanging by a thread.
"Wait! Please don't One of them had an eyepatch on his right eye. And when they left the office. I overheard one of them say a name."
"What name?"
"I think, it was uh, uhh… Wade or Slade? I don't know. I didn't hear them loud enough." Having no more use of him, he tossed him back to the rooftop and the Yakuza boss got out of the rooftop as soon as possible. His mind connecting the dots between the name Slade and the eye patched man. Deathstroke. This has just turned for the worse. URRGH, great. Jericho rubbed his temple, wondering how it's gonna complicate things in the future.
"Come on out, whoever you are." Jericho called out the person who was at the rooftop. His senses alerted him that someone watched him.
"Wow, you sure do have eyes on the back of your head." Lyla was the last person he expected to see here which brought a genuine surprise to him.
"Who sent you?" He asked,
"Oliver. He wanted to see what you're doing and from what I saw you've been busy." She replied,
"Yeah. I found out that the yakuza has been hired by Deathstroke. Wanted their goons to attack the Queen family."
"Deathstroke?" Lyla's interest peaked, when he mentioned the mercenary. Nyssa Raakto wasn't the only one who was on their high value target. For the past 3 years, Deathstroke had been behind many assassinations on high profile targets and became one of the highest paid contract killers in the world. There's not much information about the identity of Deathstroke unfortunately but Lyla had gained some knowledge when she overheard the interrogation. Slade.
"Yeah. You know him?"
"I know of him. he's been on our target list for some time." Somewhere in the Bowery, a sniper rifle was cocked and ready to fire, the sniper was aiming at Lyla's chest lying on his belly. he had his left eye staring into telescope.
"Recently Deathstroke has gone underground, we don't know why but for the past couple weeks our chatter has surged and one name keeps getting flagged. Mirakuru."
"What is Mirakuru?" Jericho questioned,
"A super soldier serum created by Imperial Japanese army during WWII. Supposedly it was meant to increase your strength, agility, durability, stamina and reflexes. It heighten your senses and in addition, you'll be granted a healing factor. But it has some serious side effects on those who survive the injection. It would either deform your body or drive you to insanity."
"And what happens if you don't make it?"
"You die with your eyes bleeding out." Just then, a laser beam appared on her chest and Jericho spotted, so he pushed him away from the sniper that just fired they tripped over the edge and they went free falling.
"This is gonna hurt!" Jericho thought as he embraced himself for impact.
Sometime later, Jericho was woken up by the car alarm. He groaned as he sat up slowly on the hood of the car. No sign of lyla though. The car windows were shattered and he left a huge Jericho craned his neck from side to side.
Jericho saw Lyla by the car.
"Why did you save me?" Lyla asked Jericho still taking a moment to recover from the fall. Jericho took most of the impact which may be the reason why she's still alive and it was for a good reason.
"You're no good to me dead." Jericho pointed out, that and Diggle would be pissed if something bad happened to Lyla. "I need info on Conner Labs."
"Why?" she questioned,
"Because I'm looking to find Dr. Conner, Deathstroke, Reynolds and end them." Jericho stated,
"A lot of our agents have infiltrated their labs and they have all died."
"Well I got an edge." He popped his claws out to demonstrate his edge and Lyla seemed to be convinced by the statement.
"That'll do. You really wanna kill them? they must've done you wrong." Lyla pointed it out.
"It's a long story." Jericho answered, not really wanting to go into details.
The sniper who pulled the trigger, went to disarm the rifle and put it back in his bag as he took off with a smirk on his face.
"it's just that simple, Jericho. Anytime. Anywhere."
As always, a preview from the story, not the next chapter because i haven't started it yet. But i will.
"You could've gone anywhere, Ta-er al-Sahfer. But you returned to your city."
"So did you."
"I guess we are both fools."
