When Gilly woke up, she was in a forest with trees with thick foliage that the sun could barely get through. She sat up, her hands feeling the green grass around her and rubbed her head with her right hand. She then felt something next to her and picked it up. It was some weird device that looked like on old school tamagotchi but green.
"The hell is this?" She asked herself
"It's um, yo-your digivice." Said a female voice behind her.
Gilly turned to find a bipedal, yellow fox that was as tall as Richie. Her shoulders had yellow spikes of fur and she wore odd, purple sleeves that had ing yangs on the area on the back of her hand. Her stomach, chest, paws, ends of her ears, end of her and calves had white fur and there was long, white, fluffs of fur on her chest. There were purple markings under her eyes and on her knees. She looked worried as she held Gilly's tote bag towards her and stared at Gilly with her blue eyes where the usually white parts were replaced by black.
"Hello." She said quietly, "I'm Renamon, your digimon partner.
Gilly stood up and took the tote back. She stared at the creature. "...My what."
"Your digimon p-partner." Renamon replied. Her expression went from worried to panicked. She bowed multiple times while exclaiming quickly, "I'm so sorry if your disappointed that it was me! I hope your not afraid of foxes! Or maybe you are. Oh I'm so sorry! I promise I'll try to be a good partner I hope-"
"Whoa whoa whoa! Chill!" Gilly exclaimed as she grabbed the yellow fox by the shoulders. "You are pretty cool. I just don't know what you are or where I am." She explained calmly.
"Apparently we're in something called 'The Digital World.'" Said Richie behind her. She turned behind her to find Richie with another odd creature. It looked like a tiny, white, sea lion with long, sharp, black claws on its flippers. It's ears were little flaps on the top of it's head that had purple at the tips. It also had purple markings on the top and bottom of his eyes, its forehead, its arms, and it's back. It also had an out of place, bright orange mane. Richie pointed to the small creature, "This guy told me all about it."
"The name's Gomamon!" The sea lion exclaimed
"Yeah hi, what's The Digital World and why are we in it?" Asked Gilly
"The uh, digital world is where digimon roam and live. You guys are here because both are worlds are in danger and you are the digidestined. You can use your digivices to find out about other digimon and digivolve us when the time comes. If you guys don't help us, both our worlds will be taken over by an evil digimon!" Exclaimed Renamon. "...I mean, if you can."
"I mean, your not really giving us a choice here." Said Richie
"Yeah but, I rather save the world then do school work." Said Gilly as Richie agreed with a reassuring nod and point.
"As long as you guys are on our side! Ooooooo, what's this?" Gomamon flopped over to Gilly and tapped on her tote bag.
"Oh, that's my turntable. I play music on this thing." Gilly tried to grab it but accidentally took out her digivice. "Oh, my bad."
"Hey, I got one of those too." Said Richie. He went into his hoodie pocket and took out a similar tamagotchi device, just colored blue.
"Yes, while I would love to listen to your music as it's probably amazing, we have to find the others." Said Renamon
"Okay! Lets go!" Yelled Gomamon. He flopped off towards a direction while Renamon followed. Richie and Gilly looked at eachother, shrugged, then followed their digimon partners. The forest mainly looked the same from where they were before.
"Emily! Lucas! Dexter! Sapphire! Chester! Hailey!" Yelled out Gilly. She then paused, "Oh god, I'm yelling for Hailey."
"That's what being in a whole different world does to ya I guess." Replied Richie. It was then they heard a scream, but not one of fear or anger, one of...excitement?
"GILLY! RICHIE!" Yelled out Sapphire as she leaped from a nearby bush and tackled the two. "I'm so glad I found you guys!" She grinned
"Yeah… happy to see you too." Gilly slowly replied
"I can't breath." Richie breathed out in a strained voice. Sapphire hopped off them as a creature came out from behind her, it was a small, bipedal, blue husky with white on its stomach, muzzle, tip of tail, and tip of its feet. It wore a red ribbon headband like a karate person would have, and wore punching gloves on its hands.
"Uh, whose that?" Asked Richie when e got back up
"I am Gaomon, Sapphire's digimon. Nice to meet you." The little husky said as he stook out his hand. Gilly and Richie shook his paw. "I assume your digimon told you about what's happening."
"Y-yes we did." Said Renamon
"Aw, heck yeah! We're going to be heroes guys!" Yelled out Sapphire. She then dug into her sweatshirt pocket and pulled out her black digivice. "Y'all got one of these?"
"Yeah." Said Richie
"Isn't it awesome!" She said
"Okay, Sapph, your at a ten," Gilly started putting her hand up, " I need you to bring it down to like a five okay?" Gilly lowered her hand
"Okay, okay, I'll calm down. I just think its cool! I mean, I'll probably fail. But at least I tried!"
"Mood." Smirked Richie
"Don't say that! You guys are our only hope!" Said Gaomon
"That must be weak hope dude." Said Gilly. Gaomon face palmed
"Oh, so this is where the party is huh?" Asked Emily who appeared behind them.
The group turned to see Emily with a digimon on her head. It looked like a bipedal, brown rabbit. It ears were really long and it had pink around her neck and at the ends of her paws and eas. She also had two pink stripes on the sides of each of her ears and three, small, brown horns on her head.
Emily whipped out her purple digivice, "I got my pass." She then pointed to the creature on her head, "I got my partner."
"Hello! My name is Lopmon!" She said
"Oh she's so cute!" Commented Sapphire.
"Oh Lopmon, this is my big brother Richie." Said Emily as she walked over to the tall boy
"Hello." Said Richie uninterested
"Hiya! I'm Gomamon! Your brother's digimon!"
Richie, Gomamon, Emily, and Lopmon started their own conversation as Gilly, Renamon, and Gaomon watched Sapphire climb a nearby tree. "What are you doing?" Gaomon asked
"If I can get up to higher ground, I might be able to see the others!"
"That is the most sensible thing you've said all day." Said Gilly
Sapphire was able to get up and saw nothing but trees for about a mile each direction. It was almost impossible to see the forest floor from there.
"Well crap. I can't see nothin'" Said Sapphire
"I can't see anything." Renamon corrected
"Yeah yeah" Sapphire started to climb down, "Geez Rena, you sound like my mooaaaHHHHHHHH!" Sapphire's foot had slipped and she stated falling. Renamon leaped into action and caught Sapphire before she hit the ground. "...Thank you."
"No problem." Renamon smiled
"Great job." Said Richie, who watched the whole scene unfold
"Shut up." Said Sapphire
"Is everyone okay? I heard a scream!" Dexter came out of one of the directions with a digimon following him. The creature was a small, bipedal, black bear with a white stomach and muzzle. It had a dark purple belt across its stomach and dark purple bandages in its upper paws. Itr also wore a backwards baseball cap with the word "BEARS" written on it. It also had two red striped on each of its cheeks.
"Holy crap that is the first time i've heard your voice dude." Said Sapphire in surprise. Dexter shrugged at that
"You must be Dexter's friends. I'm Bearmon." Said the bear creature
"RenaMON, LopMON, GaoMON, do all your names end with 'mon'?" Asked Emily
"Yes. Its why were called digiMON" Replied Gomamon
"Oh, well at least that's easy to remember." Said Emily in acceptance
"I mean, Pokemon ended with 'mon' but there's no pokemon that's name ends with 'mon'" Sapphire mumbled
"Okay, well, we're not pokemon but go off I guess." replied Bearmon smugly
Sapphire stared at the bear, then to Dexter, "I don't like him."
"I'm sorry. Bearmon, you need to be more nice"
"Your not the boss of me."
With that, Dexter sighed in defeat, "So, where are the others?" He asked
"Th-that's what we're trying to f-find out." Replied Renamon
"Well, ya got me." Replied Chester as he came out from behind a tree.
"Dude, you don't have a digimon?" Asked Richie
Chester looked around at all the digimon that his detention mates had then started to blush and turned his hat the right way so he could cover his eyes, "Well, you see-"
"Hiya!" said a high pitched voice behind Chester. A small, puppy-like creature walked out behind Chester. She was white with a golden collar, big blue eyes, and two, bright, pink dots on her cheeks. She was the smallest creature there at the moment. "I'm Salamon! Chester's partner!"
"OH MY GOSH SHE'S ADORABLE!" Yelled Emily and Sapphire at the same time as they ran over to pet Salamon. Chester's head became bright red, it made sense though, he's always been one to present the image of a tough jock and a tiny, white, puppy doesn't really communicate that.
"Who's adorable? I am the best looking one here!" Yelled out Haily as she strutted into the area, pushing Dexter down on his face while doing so.
"Haily, that's not nice." Said Richie in a flat voice.
"Oh yeah, your just a freaking ball of sunshine yourself!" She retorted
Dexter lifted up his head and was met by another small digimon. It looked like a light pink alien. It stood up and its arms were little stubs with claws. The bottom looked like the bottom of a dress and you couldn't see its legs if it had any. It had four, odd ears that had purple tips; two pointing up and two pointed down. It wore a neon pink ribbon around its neck where the ends crossed its chest and stuck together by a medal with a moon engraved on it. She had yellow crescents on its arms, chest, neck, and forehead and protruding from the crescent on her forehead was a long, clowlick-like thing that was also purple at the tip. It reached out its stubby arm to Dexter.
"My apologizes! I'm Lunamon!" She said in a little girl voice and a wide grin on her face. Dexter accepted the hand despite it not helping too much due to Lunamon's short stature.
"Ah yes!" Hailey went over to Lunamon and scooped the Moon printed creature into her arms, "This is my pet Lunamon and she is prettier than all of you, and your digimon combined!" She then paused, "...Not me though."
"Hailey, I'm not a pet. I'm your partner-"
"Yeah yeah whatever."
Hailey continued to boast about her beautiful Lunamon while the others watched on. "Wow, I feel sorry for that digimon." Said Bearmon
"Good, you should." Replied Gilly
Dexter perked up, "Wait. Does anyone else hear that?"
The group listened and they could hear the faint sounds of chaos and commotion. Sapphire climbed the tree again and saw multiple of the trees rustle in the distance. Suddenly, a line of rustling trees quickly made its way towards the group. As quick as she had seen it, something his the tree she was sitting upon and she fell again, this time landing on her face.
"Sapphire! Are you okay?" asked Gaomon
"Yeah, but why didn't any of you catch me like, what the heck guys?" Demanded Sapphire. Gaomon turned her head towards the objects that were flung at her. It was Kimberly and Lucas, all scratched up, bruised, and barely conscious.
"Lucas! What happened?" Richie asked in a rare state of shock as he lifted up Lucas and slung him around his shoulder. Gilly did the same with Kimberly as Renamon and Gaomon got Sapphire on to her feet. Before either of the injured students could answer, two other digimon got flung over to the group. One looked like a small, white otter with a golden collar and golden markings on its back. It had a gold charm hanging from it's long tail. It's pointed ears were tipped with black and had a red ring earring on its left ear. The other looked like a stubby, blood red rabbit with a white belly and purple markings on its arms and cheeks. It had multiple, feathery tails that all were tipped with purple and it's back was purple too. Its pointed ears also ended in purple and it had a large purple tuft of fur on its head.
"Elecmon…" Lucas breathed out. The red digimon slowly walked towards Richie. Emily scooped him up into her arms
"Yes. And I'm Kudamon." Said the otter. "I'm Kimberly's digimon." Emily also grabbed a hold of him
"What happened to you guys?" Asked Hailey in worry.
"No time, just run!" Kimberly was able to get out. If the distant, thundering roar is anything to go off of, the Digidestined and their new partners ran off in the exact opposite direction of the loud noise. Chester helped Richie carry Lucas and Sapphire helped Gilly carry Kimberly
"Does anyone have a plan?" Renamon yelled out
"I'm working on it!" Yelled Gaomon.
Unfortunately, the plan of planning a plan was cut short due to the obstacle of a 100 foot drop cliff in front of them.
"Crap, we gotta go back!" Yelled Gilly
The group turned and were about to run back but got caught by the thing that emitted the loud sound, and presumably what caused Kimberly and Lucas to be injured. This Digimon was a giant, purple t-rex with dark purple stripes and a black skull helmet. It let out a loud roar.
"That's Blackgreymon! He's a really cranky, bad guy!" Said Elecmon
"I feel like that is a bit racist?"
"N-not now Gilly." Scolded Renamon
Elecmon and Kudamon leaped out of Emily's arms and Kimberly and Lucas got themselves out of their caretakers arms too. The walked a bit towards the huge monster
"G-guys…" Lucas let out weakly, "We gotta fight that thing."
"Excuse me?" Asked Hailey. Lunamon then wiggled out of her arms and joined the others up front.
"He's right, this is our job as digidestined!" Lunamon pointed towards the upper arm of the beast. "See that black ring there?" Upon further inspection, there was indeed a black ring around its arm with weird symbols on it. "That is Malomyotismon black ring of control! He's been plaguing our digital world for many years! Now the hope of both our worlds is to fight against him and his forces!"
"Ah heck nah, I ain't doing this crap today." Gilly simply stated.
"But Gilda-" Renamon started
"Gilly"
"But Gilly, we h-have to. We are the two worlds only h-hope!" WIth that, Renamon stepped up to join the fighting group.
Richie shrugged, "Alright, I mean I rather NOT die today so I guess I with you all." Gomamon slimed at that remark as the two of them walked up to face the monster. "Beside Gilly, didn't you say you were down for saving the world if you didn't have to do school work?"
"Crap you right." Gilly walked up.
"I'm always down to save the universe!" Yelled out Sapphire as she ran on uo with Gaomon.
"Let's do this." Lopmon and Emily said in determined unison. Bearmon looked at Dexter as the human smiled. The four went to face the beast
"Uh, hell no! I'm not getting this Burberry cape all dirty, bet you all can do it perfectly fine without me."
Hailey got 'you can't be serious' stares from everyone and earned herself a teary eyed Lunamon too. With that the Greymon roared directly at them causing a giant drop of slobber to drench Hailey.
The self obsessed girl looked at the monster in shock. "Oh. THIS is personal now." She stomped forward to take her place among the future heroes. "How the hell do we do this."
"Diamond storm!" Yelled Renamon. Some of the leaves from the trees came off and swirled around the yellow fox. They all suddenly stopped, then all became sharpened. "Gilly, say go!"
"What? Oh, GO!" Gilly yelled. With that, the leaves went at bullet speeds towards Blackgreymon cutting it in multiple places.
"That all? Sweet! Lopmon, GO!" Yelled Emily
"Blazing ice!" Lopmon inhaled deeply and ran towards the giant monster. She jumped and exhaled, and blew ice shards from her mouth at the creature.
"Lunamon, do something more amazing!"
"Yes mam. Tear shot!" With that, Lunamon concentrated on her forehead antennae and a large water orb started to form. It grew larger and started to shine. Then Lunamon twirled and flung the orb at the monster causing a hard impact and shining, water firework.
"HA! Mine is better!" Declared Hailey. The water droplets falling from the sky also cleaned off the slobber on Hailey and Lucas, Elecmon, Kimberly, and Kudamon's wounds.
"I gotta admit that was cool." Said Lucas refreshed.
"I can only do that once, it drains all my power." Said Lunamon
Kimberly nodded and turned her attention towards the battle. "Kudamon, lets give this guy some revenge!"
"Holy shot!" Kudamon's patterns started to glow brighter and brighter until his body was engulfed. The light then shot off his body and hit Blackgreymon.
"You too Elecmon!"
"Super thunder strike!" Elecmon's tails started storing electricity. When the electric energy started to grow large he pointed the tips at the large digimon and shot them out.
"Gaomon! Let's get into the frey!"
Gaomon gave a nod of agreement. "Wild howl!" Gaomon took a stomp forward and gave a loud howl that manifested itself into energy waves hitting the dino digimon.
"Salamon please don't embarrass me."
"What?"
"I mean, go!"
"Happy paw!" Salamon yelled
"Oh GOD." Chester sighed, worried for the worse. Salamon jumped up and down with her paws then rubbed them together. The middle of them started glowing and suddenly a large beam of energy started to blast forward and hit Blackgreymon on the head. Due to all the attacks, the large attacking digimon fell.
"Okay. Maybe I underestimated you." Said Chester in surprised
"He's down! Now we just need to get that dark ring off it's arm!" Said Lucas
"Is that what you and Kimberly were trying to do before?" Asked Emily
"Yeah, but we got our butts kicked." Shrugged Elecmon
Luca turned to Dexter and Bearmon. "You guys weren't able to fight. Care to do the honors?"
Dexter nodded, "Alright Bearmon, do your best."
"Karate fist!" Bearmon prepared to punch the ring off. As he pulled his paw back, it started to gain energy. When it made contact it cause a mini explosion and broke the ring. The ring the dissolved into black dust and left with the wind.
"Yes! I was going to be so disappointed if there wasn't an explosion." Said Sapphire as she high fived Gaomon
" Ya know, I could get used to this, that was pretty awesome." Commented Gilly
"And this is the things we have to do as digidestined." Started Kudamon, "However, I feel that I must warn you, that from this point on the mind controlled digimon will become harder and harder to beat, and you will have to investigate just about the entirety of the Digital World."
"But, is there anyway for us to get home?" Asked Gilly
"I-I'm sure there's a way, but unfortunately I don't think there is at the moment." Replied Renamon
"But until then, I think we should stay guys!" Started Kimberly, "The Digital and real worlds rest in our hands! We have to fight against the evil doings of Malomyotismon!"
"I don't know if I'm ready for that responsibility." commented Dexter
"Dude, come on. We all just faced that thing!" Lucas assured, pointing to the knocked out digimon, "We can definitely do this."
"I agree!" Yelled Sapphire
"I guess we all have too agree, since we're the only digidestined and all." Said Emily
"But it's so much woooooork." Hailey whined
"But Hailey, you saw how awesome Lunamon was, you can overshadow us in every battle we're in." Lucas reasoned
"True. Okay, I guess that's fine." Hailey remarked
"Yaaaay!" Lunamon jumped into Hailey's arms
"We need one of you to be the leader though." Said Salamon
"I vote Lucas." Richie suggested
"WHAT. WHY HIM." Kimberly commanded, "I'm the vice president of the student council, shouldn't that put me on top of the candidate list?"
"It should, BUT, you were the only one that ran. Plus, none of us like you that much."
"What? You guys like me right-" Kimberly paused as she saw the faces of awkward agreement with Richie. "Okay fine."
"And to refute anyone else, Hailey's self centered, Emily's too young, Sapphire's crazy, Gilly doesn't care all that much, Dexter's too quiet, Chester's too stupid, and I-" He paused, "have no skills whatsoever."
"Well, uh." Lucas stammered, "Alright. That sounds good to me, I mean, I lead the swimming team to the state championships so it's not like I don't have experience-" Kimberly put her coat over her face and mumble-yelled into it. "-so yeah, I accept"
"ALL HAIL THE FEARLESS LEADER!" Yelled Sapphire
"Sapph, bring it to a five." Scolded Gaomon
"Sorry."
"First order of business, where do we go now?" Asked Lucas to the group
"OH! My hometown is a few miles from here. That sounds like a good place to be for a bit." Said Lopmon
"Sounds good. I guess we better get going!" Said Lucas. Behind him, the Blackgreymon started to stirr.
"Yeah, we better go quick. Mind controlled or not, he's not that pleasant of a dude." Said Gomamon
With that word of motivation, the Digidestined ran out quickly towards the tow, towards adventure, towards saving everyone, and, most importantly, away from Blackgreymon.
