I see sparks fly, whenever you smile.

Every few nights it was always the same. Draco would test the Vanishing Cabinet a few minutes early before meeting Gabrielle there. They would just sit and talk, catch up on all the things that they had missed. Draco had recently discovered that Gabrielle's favourite colour was jade, and that she wanted to become an Auror or a healer when she left Hogwarts.

"An Auror?" Draco looked at her questioningly "I never saw you for the law reinforcer type, Char"

"For what my father has put me through? Can you really blame me?" she said as she held the canary in her hands.

"…I guess not" he sighed "I didn't realise Adadeus put you through all that"

"There's alot of things you don't know, sadly" she answered as she put the canary back in the cage "he just became the way he was because he chose to stick to his beliefs and became very…extremist"

"I'm sorry"

"It's not your fault" Gabrielle answered. She looked at the time "I have to go" she stood up and straightened herself out.

"Do you have to?"

"When people start wondering where I am? Yes" she gathered her things.

"Char" he whined.

"Malfoy" she sighed at him "don't"

"Don't what?" he asked.

"Don't" she shook her head "don't ask me to stay. I feel bad enough as it is that I'm here all the time and then later I have to see Fred"

"You're not doing anything wrong"

"He doesn't know that you and I are sneaking off and hanging out. Do you realise how suspect that sounds? I wouldn't trust me if I was dating me" she sighed exasperatedly. "Just, let me see my boyfriend, ok?" she said as she walked out of the Room of Requirement and headed to the common room and then to Hogsmeade. She got changed and headed to the exit of the Common room when in she bumped into Harry, Ron and Hermione. "Hey mysterious strangers who look very suspect but I won't ask because I know I'll get into trouble" she said in one breath. Hermione smiled.

"Where are you headed, Gab?"

"Three Broomsticks, meeting your brother there" Gabrielle answered Ron "would you like to come with?" she smiled.

"Nah, don't wanna see my brother. I see enough of him at home" Ron wrinkled his face.

"We might be there later, Gabbie. If you're there, we'll join you" Harry added.

"Its a date" she smiled as she left the trio.

Gabrielle made her way down to Hogsmeade, practising in her head what she was going to say to Fred. "Fred, I'm seeing Malfoy. No. Fred, I've been meeting up with Malfoy in the Room of requirement to get to know him better. No. Fred, Malfoy and I...Merlin, why is this so difficult?!" She asked herself. She took another deep breath as she reached the Three Broomsticks. "Fred..." She began to say to herself.

"Gabbie" his voice interrupted her.

Gabrielle startled and she looked up and there he was. "Fred" her face softened and she wrapped her arms around him.

"'ello love" he kissed her on the forehead. "I was wondering what took you so long"

"Sidetracked" she answered "we should go inside"

"That keen for a butterbeer huh?" He chuckled.

"There's something I need to tell you..." She began.

"What's this about? Everything ok at home?"

"As far as I know" Gabrielle nodded, she took a deep breath again "Fred, we need to go inside"

"Why?" He looked at her with slight concern

"I think you're going to need to sit down when I tell you"

"Going to Hogsmeade" Draco said as he went into the Slytherin Common Room.

"Want us to come with you?" Crabbe offered.

"Fine" he nodded "get ready quickly" he huffed as he exited the Common Room. 'With any luck Weasley will realise that Char and I are more suited together and he will let her go' he thought to himself.

"...and that's it. We have just been talking again and getting to know eachother"

"So...you're friends with Malfoy again" Fred nodded slowly.

"Yes" Gabrielle looked away in shame

"And...is there anything happening between the two of you?"

"Fred, don't be absurd" she answered exasperatedly. She couldn't really blame him for asking either.

"I have to ask because I know of your family history and your friendship in the past. You told me yourself that your parents had agreed that you and Draco would get married one day" Fred explained

"You know that's never going to happen. I'm surprised you've taken this so well"

"I have to, its your choice. I'm not happy about that slimy git worming his way into your life, but if you're just friends, then I believe you"

"Oh Fred" she got teary

"Gabbie" he put his arms around her

"I love you" she said as she kissed him on the cheek

"I love you too" he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her forehead "and if...I'm just saying, if he does so much as to try to make a move on you, I will hex him into oblivion"

"I know you will" she chuckled "but I can guarantee that there will be no such thing happening. I love you"

"I know, I'm incredible" he kissed her on the forehead

"He says so modestly" she laughed.

The doors of Madam Rosmerta's opened and in walked in Draco, Zabini, Crabbe and Goyle. Draco saw Gabrielle in Fred's arms and smiling. They hadn't broken up. He scowled and sat down near them. "Oh wow, a blood traitor and her poor hand-me-down boyfriend who didn't finish their Hogwarts year. I didn't know they were letting in rubbish in from the street" Blaise commented. Crabbe and Goyle laughed, Draco didn't react and he looked at Gabrielle waiting for her reaction.

Gabrielle stood up, "Gabbie, no. Its not worth it"

"Fred, please" she looked at him "I've had enough of being treated and talked about this way"

"Anything I can do?" He let her go

"Have my back"

"Don't I always" he smiled.

Draco saw Gabrielle approach their table. "Ah de Famille the Bloodtraitor" Blaise acknowledged.

"Zabini" Gabrielle had her eyes focused on him and only him "I couldn't help but notice your little immature and boorish comment about Fred and I earlier" she smiled sweetly as she rested her hands on the table "Let me start by saying, Fred is the owner of his own business and constantly making profit everyday, which is hardly what I can say about your family; don't think I don't know the workings of your family's business Zabini, after all it's my father that helped yours. Fred did this all on his own. Secondly, call me blood traitor all you want but I am forever loyal to my house and my friends, sad I can't say the same about you" she smiled sweetly again. Blaise looked away and didn't say anything "if I were to yell and make neanderthal-like comments...I'd be as bad as you. You have a good day now" she said as she walked toward Fred who was waiting for her.

"Nicely handled" he kissed her on the forehead as they both exited the tavern.

Draco looked at Blaise and started laughing "What's so funny, Draco?" He snarled at him

"The way she spoke to you and the way you reacted was funny" Draco responded. He knew Gabrielle could hold her own, after all she yelled at him in the middle of the hallways and wasn't afraid. He knew her spending time with him would do her some good.

"Just wait until she sees what I will do to he-"

"You will do no such thing" Draco cut Blaise off

"What?" Blaise looked at him bemused

"You will not harm de Famille" Draco glared at him

"Why? She's a blood traitor, Draco. And she's proud of that. You heard her"

"You lay a spell on her Zabini and her father and my father will hear about this" he said as he stood up from the table and walked out of the tavern.
