Due to the Contract 7- Twist, Turn, and Topple

Teto's POV

Kaito...he's so perfect! Being able to work with him is like a dream. But, since we work together, that can't be good!

"Teto!" a voice broke me from my thoughts.

"Eh? Oh yeah, what is it, Miku?" I asked.

"Kaito wants ice cream after rehearsal. He wants you to come along and so do I! What do you say?" Kaito wants to eat ice cream together!

"Of course I'll come!" I said maybe a little too enthusiastically. "Ah, it's just I haven't had ice cream in a while and...yes I'll come."

"Great! So should we start the song again from the beginning?" she asked.

"Um...actually let's wrap up rehearsal for the day." I said.

"Huh? But we have another concert..."

"Oh it'll be fine! I can't stop thinking about ice cream now. Let's get going!"

Luka's POV

Ugh, Gakupo is such a nuisance...I'm so glad the pointless date is over. Still couldn't believe he let me walk home alone...ah well, it's nice to have a walk through the city. As I turned to stop at an intersection, a certain teal haired girl caught my attention. She was with Kaito, and was that Teto departing from the two? That must have been interesting, since Teto and Miku are both head over heels for him...

Teto is a great choreographer, but she's so dense I bet she has no idea Miku feels the same thing for the same guy. The walking signal lit up green as a lightbulb went off in my head. I deserve to have a bit of fun today, after all. I followed after Teto.

"Teto!" I called out to her when I was close enough for her to hear. She turned to me.

"Luka! What are you doing here?" she asked.

"I just went out for lunch. We're you just with Kaito and Hatsune?"

"Yeah! We went out for ice cream."

"Oh really? That sounds nice. Kaito really loves ice cream, doesn't he?"

"Yes he does! And his favorite flavor is strawberry." I couldn't help but notice the subtle blush on her cheeks. "Ah, but I guess that isn't really relevant, haha." she added while nervously rubbing the back of her head.

"My, my Teto, you seem quite infatuated with Kaito!" I teased.

"Do I? Um, but I'm not! That's not the case here. Nope, not at all!" She was lying, and horribly at that.

"Are you sure? Well, I guess that's a good thing. It sure would bring trouble."

"What do you mean by trouble?" she asked.

"Well, don't say anything but..." I looked side to side as if to see if anyone were listening, and then whispered in her ear, "I believe that Kaito and Miku are very much involved." I backed away and looked right into those big pink eyes of hers.

"No way, seriously?" she asked in a quiet voice as horror washed over her face. I slowly nodded. I then looked at the watch on my arm.

"Oh, I'm afraid I have to get going. But I have rehearsal with you tomorrow. We should talk some more then, okay?" I headed the opposite way towards the Oster building. That was more fun than I thought it would be.

Miku's POV

I opened the heavy door, revealing the director and producers and managers of Crypton sitting around a mahogany table. I opened my mouth to excuse myself inside but before I could, they all stood and applauded me with big smiles.

"Congratulations, Miku!" they all said in unison.

"Your performance last night was phenomenal. I knew I made the right decision selecting you as the newest Vocaloid!" Mr. Masuda said.

"Thank you everyone! I'm glad I didn't let you down, I had a lot of fun on stage!"

"That's great to hear, because you'll be opening on the next show." one of the producers announced..

"Really? I just got nervous all of a sudden..." I admitted.

"Don't worry, that won't happen until a week away." she added. She said it as if that's a far time from now...

"In the meantime," Mr. Masuda said, "you have a busy schedule ahead of you. Mr. Yamada will brief you."

"Yes, well, to start you have a lot of rehearsals and two new songs to learn so I'd suggest you practice it before your studio time this afternoon."

"Oh boy…I can't wait to get started…"

After a few days of practically living in the studios and rehearsal halls, I finally had a night off to rest. The day has been pretty lax, Kaito, Rin, Len and I were watching TV when my phone started to ring.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Hey Miku! It's Teto. Are you busy right now?"

"Um, not really? I was just watching tv with everyone."

"How about some last minute practice? It won't be for long! And I really think it'll be good since you're opening the show. What do you say?"

"Well, if you really think that…then sure why not? It couldn't hurt."

"Awesome. I'll see you at the rehearsal hall, then!" With that, she hung up the phone.

"What did Teto want?" Kaito asked.

"She suggested I do some extra rehearsal."

"Really? Usually Teto would be sleeping. Rush weeks usually leave her exhausted."

"Maybe I just didn't do too well and I could use the extra practice? In any case I already told her I'm coming." I stood and headed to my room to change into my dance clothes and headed to the rehearsal hall. The Crypton building is really huge and consists of many smaller buildings all connected by glass-enclosed passageways that cross over the ground from pretty high up. The one I was walking on was above the outdoor recreational center. Once inside the next building, I used the elevator to get to the floor where the rehearsal hall was located. Teto was there tapping her foot impatiently.

"Hey, Teto! We're you waiting long? Sorry if I took a while." I said as I walked towards her.

"Don't worry about that. Let's just get started."

Teto's POV

You ever get that feeling where you know what you are doing is wrong, but you are just so angry that it feels like it's what needs to be done after all? That is exactly how I felt as I made Miku do the same routines over and over. What Luka told me about Kaito and Miku has me so furious I can't stand it. Thinking about it, they have been acting kind of close, but they have rehearsals for a dance together so I just thought...

"Again! From the top." I yelled as I used the remote in my hand to rewind the song. Miku nearly fell over as she let out a huff getting back into the starting position. I thought about what I've been trying to ignore all this time. I'm not ignorant to how Miku looks at Kaito, but even worse how he looks back at her. He never looks at me that way even though…

"Stop, Miku."

"Huh? Did I do it wrong? It's the same way I've been dancing the whole time." She said in a strained voice.

"Exactly. You keep making a mistake in one part and it throws off the whole routine." I quickly went into a pose. It was only for a second in the dance since you have to balance on the side of your ankle. "Try holding this pose." She nodded and did it, and began wobbling after a few seconds. I could feel something bubbling inside of me. "That's it, hold it longer."

"Hey, this kind of hurts!" The feeling inside me grew more intense.

"That's how you memorize it! Once you know the feeling of it, it'll be second nature. You wanted to be a Vocaloid, right? Well you have to work hard at it!" And that's when it happened. She fell over.

Miku's POV

"Ahh!" I tumbled down to the floor hard, but the real source of searing pain was from my ankle. It hurt so much I had tears forming at my eyes. Teto walked over to me and stooped to my level before examining my ankle. She tried to hold it to inspect it more, but the instant she touched it the pain worsened.

"Ow! Owowow!" I cried out.

"Well, I'm no doctor but it looks sprained. You need to rest for it to heal. Can you stand?" She asked. I tried moving but the pain was too much.

"No way…Wait, how long will this take to heal?" I asked.

"A few days…could even be a week."

"But the concert is in a few days! I can't afford to rest for a few days! Teto, what am I going to do?"

"Better tell the directors or something. Maybe you don't have the strength to be a Vocaloid after all." She said this pretty apathetically and stood before walking out of the door. The sound of it closing echoed in my head before being drowned out by my loud sobs. This can't be the end already…

End!

The last chapter was really long and this one really short. I just wanted to get it out there. So what'd you think? Leave a comment and don't forget to follow the story!
