Book four Peace Chapter Twelve Azula's Downfall

One Month Later

Ren was still in the healing room from the fight with Aki and Azula. She had argued with Kya and Sky numerous times that she was fine but the two told her it was for the best. Ren no longer had any of her stitching only gauze and wraps. Ren's hand and wrist caused her pain but she knew that was to be expected. She expected her foot and ankle to hurt as well as her ribs. Kya told her that she had to reset the platinum plate again. Kya came in the room to try and heal Ren but Ren didn't feel it was doing anything if she couldn't do her job as the avatar. Kya sat next to Ren but Ren looked at the wall. Kya gave her a sympathetic look before she pulled water out of a bowl.

"No. I don't want that today or anymore for that matter. It helped as far as it's going to help me Aunt Kya. I need to get up and do things now. I can't lay in this all day for the rest of my life. I'm pregnant not on my death bed," Ren said.

"Ren, you were in pretty bad shape. You need to understand that for once in your life rest is what your body needs. Listen, I understand that you want to go do your duties as the avatar but your body just isn't ready yet," Kya said.

"I said I want to do things!" Ren yelled as she earth bent the floor.

"Ren Beifong, you will not scare me into giving you what you want with your bending. I don't know if you have forgot who I am but I do not intimidate easily. You will stay in this bed or so help me Raava we will have you guarded at all times to make sure you don't leave this room. The Aki and Azula issue is already being handled so please just rest," Kya said.

Ren was about to speak but the door opened and in the door way stood Kai, Jinora, and Sky. Ren looked at the four people and she used her earthbending to send Kya out of the room. Jinora tried to say something but Ren used her airbending to slam the door shut and her metalbending to lock it. She sighed and crossed her arms as she looked at the floor. She smiled for a minute and looked at the door before she set her feet on the ground. She opened a hole, quickly jumping in and closing the hole so no one would know where she was going. She began to tunnel as fast as she could towards the small cave everyone wrote their names in. When she got there she started to brush herself off and closed the hole in the wall. She slowly turned around when she heard someone clear their throat. Ren saw Sky standing with the Beifong sisters at the cave entrance. She bit her lip, unsure of what to say. Sky crossed his arms and shook his head at Ren. Ren looked at Lin, then Su in hopes that one of them would help her but the sisters stood there in silence. Ren didn't understand how they could all want her to lay in that bed instead of doing her job as the avatar. Sky was hesitant to take a step because he feared Ren would do something rash. Ren saw Sky take a step towards her and she backed into the wall. She started to look around but she knew there was no way out. She started to walk over to him with her head down. Ren looked at Sky as the group walked up to the courtyard. When they arrived in the courtyard Kya was standing in the center with her arms crossed. Ren sighed as she looked at Kya. Kya grabbed Ren so fast that no one knew what was going on. Ren stared at her waiting for her to say something but Kya had to think for a moment.

"Ren, what were you thinking? I told you five minutes ago that you should rest and you try to escape the island. You have got to be the most stubborn person alive. That or stupid. If Aki or Azula would have found you, they would have most likely killed you. I hope I am getting through to you at this point. Your children need you to stop acting the way are. You are currently a little weak..." Kya said before Ren interrupted her by knocking her over.

Ren was breathing heavily and the ground shook before pillars started to pop up. Jinora looked around as the wind picked up around everyone. Min and Lee were knocked down by water from the fountain. Kuvira pulled Hakoda and Ty back when she noticed the fire in Ren's hands. Kya looked up to see Ren's eyes glowing only she didn't understand why. Ren heard Hakoda calling her name which only made her bend the elements stronger. Ren closed her eyes and everything stopped as soon as it started. Ren opened her eyes to see herself in her home in front of Aki and Azula. She saw herself easily knocked down. She saw them in her face again. She watched the same battle several times until she felt someone grab her. She saw Sky giving her a concerned look but she pushed him away and ran into the temple. Kya looked at him with a smile, placing a hand on his shoulder. Ren looked back to see that she was alone so she finally stopped running. She started to cry as she thought about what had just happened. She couldn't protect her son or her home how did she expect herself to protect the world. She sighed, thinking about how she really screwed up when she pulled Azula out of the Fog of Lost Souls. She walked into her room and looked at the calendar on the wall. Sky had circled the night of the full moon. The waterbenders were going to go after Aki and Azula that night. She knew that was the only reason he circled that day. They would be stronger that night if they attacked the two women at night. Ren clenched her fist so tight she drew blood. She stormed out to the courtyard and stood in front of Sky with her fist still clenched. She punched him in the face, making him fall to the ground. He looked up at her as he wiped the blood off of his lip. Everyone gave Ren a confused look. She used her warterbending to pull water out of fountain and slapped Sky in the face.

"The full moon? Do you really think the full moon is going to help you? Wow you guys are waterbenders but who cares. I am the avatar and they threw me around like a rag doll. You tell me not to be stupid but the three of you are being reckless," Ren said without looking at any of them.

"Ren, we thought..." Sesi started before Ren used her metalbending to take one of Kuvira's strips to silence Sesi.

"That's the problem. You guys thought. Stop thinking of these stupid ideas are these amazing ideas because they aren't. They are going to get you killed. This is why I have to go after them," Ren said.

"At least our ideas unlike yours don't put Hakoda in danger," Sky snapped at her.

Everyone in the courtyard gasped at what Sky had said to Ren. Ren pulled Lin's cables from her side and sent an air blast at Sky. Sky fell down the stairs and started to tumble to the beach. Ren grabbed him with the cables and threw him in the air. Sky pulled water out of the bay and pulled Ren down to the beach. Everyone stood at the top of the stairs as the two fought. Ren pulled sand up and twirled it around Sky making it impossible for him to see. She soon knocked him down him the sand but he jumped right back up. Sky pulled water out of the bay and sent it at Ren but she stuck her hand out, making it go around her. Ren sent the metal cable as Sky sent water whips but the two attacks dropped before they could hit anyone. Lin and Kya both had their hands out preventing the two from attacking each other. Ren rolled her eyes at the two before she whistled for Hope. Hope ran down with Ren's glider in her mouth. Ren heard people object but she really didn't care. The two made their way for the ferry when Sky grabbed Ren's arm. She pulled away from him and told him if he wanted to help that he could stay out of her way. Ren got onto the ferry and never looked back again. Ren looked over the bay and thought about how she could take Aki or Azula down. Once she was in the city she began to aimlessly walk around for a awhile. She eventually stopped at Korra's statue to look at it. She thought about how Korra would know what to do about this whole situation. Then again Korra wouldn't have brought Azula out of the Fog of Lost Souls so the situation wouldn't be what it is now. Ren sighed and looked at the spirit portal. She didn't know how she was going to get Azula back to the Spirit World. Ren sighed as she looked at the ground she started to walk around the city when she heard her name. She looked around but didn't see anyone. She continued to walk but she used her name again. She opened her glider and made her way for the Spirit World. When she entered the Spirit World Zuko and Aang stood in front of her. The two had told her about their fights during the hundred-year war. They hoped that would help Ren somehow. Ren looked at them one more time before she opened her glider to head back to the island. Once she was in the sky she thought of ways that would take one of the two woman down based off of the advice she received. She looked at her great grandfather's statue, sighing again as she thought how he would have handled the issue already. Ren eventually landed on the island and walked up to the courtyard. She saw Sesi and Sky and got an idea. She thought about how their idea may not be so bad. She could use the waterbenders on the full moon. She knew they couldn't bloodbend but they were still stronger. She would use everyone else but she had to do her plan the night the full moon. She had two days before her rematch with the two women. She was not going to let the two women walk away from the fight. Hakoda ran over to her and pulled her to the kitchen. She overheard Kya tell Jinora that she was going to try to fight Aki and Azula on the night of the full moon.

"You are an idiot. Grandpa Tenzin is dead and he wasn't even trying to fight. They will show no mercy. I will not go to your funeral Aunt Kya. Not if you do this alone. I can't lose anyone else. I want everyone to help not just the waterbenders okay. I really don't want you to but I know you will because of Grandpa Tenzin," Ren said.

Kya smiled at Ren for a moment before she realized Ren was right she was going to do it for Tenzin. Kya hugged Ren and knew she would solve the issue. Ren sighed as she looked out the window. She didn't realize it was getting so late until she saw the sun was starting to go down. She pulled water out of the sink, placing it over her left ankle and foot. The fight with Sky had really made all the damage that was done to her body last month start to hurt. Sky walked in to see Ren pulling the water from her ankle to her hand and wrist. He walked over to her but Ren dropped the water when Sky touched her. She laughed a little as she used her waterbending to pull the water off of him. Sky looked at her and remembered one of the many times Ren had covered him in water when she was younger because she was always nervous around him. Sky looked at Kya and she took the water from Ren as Sky grabbed her waist. He looked into her light green eyes and smiled. Ren looked at the ground then back at Sky with a smile. Sky laughed at her as he brushed the hair out of her face. Ren touched her betrothal necklace before she kissed Sky. When she pulled away she walked towards her room with a smile and Sky just watched her walk away. She turned around, leaning against the wall for a moment.

"I'll see you later Chief Beifong. Maybe we can talk about a plan to take these psychos down together. Maybe we can squeeze some husband and wife time in there. Maybe some private loving time too," she said with a smile.

Sky laughed and nodded at Ren. He felt everyone in the kitchen staring at him and he realized he must look like a fool right now. He cleared his throat before he nodded at the group and walked away. Jinora laughed a little as she thought about how Ren and Sky acted like they did when they first became a couple. Ren walked to the spinning gates and set a gust of wind through them. When she jumped out she stopped to think about how in two days she would be fighting that in a way had been her fault. Later that night she and Sky locked themselves in their room, hoping no one would disturb the two. The two were discussing the plan to take at least one of the women down when they both fell asleep. Lee, Min, Takumi, Link, and Haru were standing in the hallway outside Ren's room trying to figure out what was going on. Kuvira walked up and slapped Lee who was the closest to the door. He looked at her as he pulled away from the door. Jinora, Kai, Lin, Su, Kya, Ela, Kiran, and Pema all gathered with Kuvira. Both groups looked at each other for a moment.

"Kuvira, you can't tell me you don't find it a little odd that it's so quiet in there. When has Ren ever been quiet during sex? Having Hakoda for three years didn't change that. We were just um making sure they were okay," Lee said.

Kuvira gave Lee a look before she walked over to the door. She used her metalbending to unlock the door and pulled the door open. Everyone saw the two asleep with a folder in Sky's hand. Takumi chuckled as he thought about what Sky had said to him earlier. Lin walked in and grabbed the file from Sky, placing it on the night stand. Ren groaned as she buried her face into Sky's chest. The group walked out of the room and shut the door. Ren and Sky slept until the day of the full moon. When they woke up, they noticed someone had come to cross off dates on their calendar. Ren noticed the date and grabbed Sky. He tried to keep up with her but she was running too fast. When they finally arrived in the dining area Sky was breathing heavily but Ren had the calendar in her hand. She held it up for everyone to see as she pointed at the date. Sesi got up and placed a hand on Ren's shoulder. Ren groaned as she threw the calendar down. She placed her hand over her face as she looked at the city. She sat down and propped her feet up as everyone talked. Ren listened to everyone and thought about what the night would hold. She thought maybe she should change the plans but she knew she wouldn't win that way. As it got later everyone got ready to go into the city and Pema agreed to watch Hakoda and Ty. Everyone left to go search for the two women. Ren knew what she had to do. Once they were in the city Ren walked over to one of the spirit vines and placed her hand on it. The vine began to glow and Ren followed it. It didn't take long for the group to find Aki and Azula. Ren threw a chunk of earth at Aki to get her attention. Aki and Azula turned their attention to Ren as Ren smirked. Azula sent a fire whip at Ren but she jumped and started to run. Ren looked back to see lightning heading her way. She used her airbending to avoid the lightning. Ren used her airbending to propel herself forward while Aki and Azula used their firebending to propel themselves forward. The group tried to keep up with the three women as they propelled themselves through Republic City and fought. Ren didn't realize she was near the spirit portal until Aki threw a fire ball at her, knocking her in. Ren slid across the ground and slammed into the tree. Ren's original gang, the first Iroh, Korra, and Tenzin came running when they felt a different presence. Aki and Azula ran through the portal and they both sent a fire ball at Ren. Ren stayed on the ground until right before the fire balls hit her. An earth barrier went up and Ren slide her foot across the earth, making it raise slightly from her foot to Aki and Azula's to knock them down.

"Wait. I want to fight Azula. I am sick of fighting the both of you. Clearly you don't think you are capable of defeating me if you need Aki's help for all these fights," Ren said as her group entered the Spirit World.

"ZuZu couldn't even beat me in an Agni Kai. He needed the help of that waterbending girl. I doubt you could beat me in an Agni Kai," Azula said.

"I never said anything about an Agni Kai. I said about fighting each other. I'm young but not young and dumb. I'm the avatar why would I only use one element when I can bend all four. Let's go fight me unless you're scared I'll beat you," Ren said with a smirk on her face.

Katara looked at Zuko remembering the fight between the siblings all those years ago. She looked at the smirk on Azula's face and hoped that she would decline what Ren was proposing. Katara knew that Ren didn't know what she would be getting herself into if Azula agreed. Katara grabbed onto Aang when Azula had agreed. Sky called out for Ren as Aki backed away. He didn't understand why Ren was changing the plan. Ren stood still as she waited for Azula to attack. When Azula didn't attack Ren moved quickly. She made an air wheel to get close to Azula but Azula took advantage of that. Azula made a giant arc that knocked Ren down. Ren slid across the ground but she slammed her hands on the ground making pillars pop up everywhere. Azula jumped and avoid every pillar. Ren jumped up to see Azula on one of the pillars. Ren started to run and placed her foot against one of the pillars, quickly pushing herself off of the pillar. Ren started to chase Azula around on the pillars. Azula turned and created a giant fire lash. She almost knocked Ren off of the pillars but Ren used her airbending to propel herself to the side. Ren looked over at the group as the sweat pour down her face. Azula jumped in the air, spinning and shot a flame from her foot. Ren pulled water out of thin air before the fire could hit her. Ren's feet slid back a bit but she still stood. Ren used her metal cables to try and knock Azula down but She ducked under the cables.

"Ren, let the waterbenders help you. The moon is up. Remember it is a full moon tonight. You have the advantage," Sky said.

"The full moon," Ren whispered to herself.

Ren looked up at Azula with a smile. Ren closed her eyes for a moment before she opened them again. Her eyes began to glow as the earth started move her. Katara dug her nails into Aang's arm, drawing blood. Ren focused all her energy on Azula and she took a deep breath. Azula went to generate lightning but was stopped. Everyone looked as Azula as her limbs started to bend. They watched as she soon saw her fall to her knees. Everyone looked at Katara who was clinging to Aang then all the other waterbenders. They all turned their attention to Ren to see her bloodbending. Aki fell to the ground and started to back away before she ran for the portal. Everyone watched as Ren used bloodbending to take Azula back to the Fog of Lost Souls. The people that had been blood bent before watched as Ren blood bent Azula with ease and hatred across her face. Katara gave Ren a disappointed look before she looked down at the ground, still clinging to Aang. Ren tightened her grip on Azula as they got closer to show Azula who was really in charge. When they were at the cliff above the Fog of Lost Souls Ren tightened her grip one more time, making Azula's limbs bend back. Ren finally tossed Azula and looked down as she fell down through the fog. Ren left the avatar state and turned around. She saw the look that everyone was giving her. She noticed that they seemed to all be giving her the same look. She saw the look of disappointment and they even looked scared of her. Ren started to walk towards everyone with her head down when she felt sick. She fell to her knees and began to vomit. She was so disgusted with what she had just done. She continued to vomit when everyone ran over to her.

"Ren, are you alright?" Tenzin asked.

"Nausea and vomiting are all part of being pregnant," Katara said.

"No, I am not alright. I am completely disgusted with myself. I used bloodbending. I promised to never do that again after Vikram and I did it. I am monster. I can't even think about looking at myself in the mirror. I just felt like I was backed into a corner," Ren said with tears in her eyes.

"It's alright dear. I know how you feel and you protected everyone from Azula. You knew that she and Aki would cause more harm than Aki would do alone. I'm not saying the bloodbending is okay but I am saying you thought of the people around the world which is what you do best," Katara said hugging Ren.

"Well now that you took Azula down you only have to worry about Aki and I think you can handle her before the baby gets here in a few months," Sky said as he kissed Ren's forehead.

"Babies. It's plural. I can't believe you, Su, Lin, and Kuvira haven't felt their heartbeats yet. I did the first time you came to the Spirit World after you got pregnant. There are three of them in there. At this rate you might be able to have as many children as Suyin if you keep trying. I mean you already caught up to TwinkleToes Jr. You didn't even have to try that hard either," Toph said laughing.

"Three? Sky, she said three," Ren said as she grabbed Sky by the armor. "She has to be kidding with me. Oh, Raava Sky she is serious. I can't do this. What if I can't protect them from Aki? What if I can't protect them from anyone?"

"Hey, it will all be alright. Don't stress yourself. You don't need that and they don't need that. You'll do your typical kick ass avatar thing and take Aki down. We will have a few months then the babies are here then you will be a kickass mom of four and the kickass avatar. We will be one big kickass Beifong family. Don't worry I think I know where Aki went and we can go get her tomorrow," Sky said.

Ren smiled at Sky and placed her hand on his face. She stood up to kiss him but tripped and the two fell on the ground. They started to laugh as they laid on the ground. Ren didn't need Sky to tell her where Aki went because she knew. Aki gave it away by the look of horror on her face. Ren would go look for Aki while everyone was sleeping. She had to stop her and now.
