Book four Peace Chapter Thirteen: Clues
It had been three days since Ren had thrown Azula back into the Fog of Lost Souls. Everyone could tell that she was still upset by the fact she used bloodbending to defeat Azula. Ren walked out of her room and stopped before she entered the kitchen to find Ela, Kiran and Takumi standing there talking about Aki. Ela was blaming herself for Aki. Iroh walked past Ren into the kitchen to the group to join the conversation. Ren placed her head against the wall and sighed as she listened to the group talk. Ren felt someone touch her back but she was so interested in what the group was saying. Ren eventually couldn't handle what she was hearing anymore so she turned around to find Sky standing behind her with a concerned look. She smiled at him slightly before she walked away. Sky looked in the kitchen to see what Ren was staring at before he followed her. Ren didn't understand why any of them were blaming themselves. She had even heard Honora and Izumi blaming themselves the night before. The only person who was at fault was Aki and maybe Ren a bit but Ren blamed Aki. Ren thought maybe she should call that whole family to a meeting. She could get Ryuu and they could go talk with Korra about how no one but Aki is to blame. Ren walked into what was now Jinora's study and walked over to the book case. She started to run her hand over the books as she searched for a specific book. When she found the book she was looking for she yanked it from the bookshelf, pulling multiple books with it. Ren left the books on the floor as she ran to Jinora's desk. When she sat down she started to flip through the pages as quickly as she could to find what she was looking for. She eventually found the page and she started to skim the page until she got what she needed. Once she found the information she ran out of the temple and whistled for Hope. She jumped on Hope's back and the two took off shortly after. Sky called for Ren but she was already on the ferry. Before the ferry moved Ren noticed a group heading towards the ferry. She saw Ela, Honora, Iroh, Izumi, Kiran, Takumi, and Sky board the ferry. She sighed as the ferry left. Once they were in Republic City Ren told the group to get into a Satomobile and follow her. She jumped on Hope's back again and made the large cat run in the direction of the Fire Republic. Iroh tried to drive the Satomobile to keep up with Ren but it was becoming difficult. The group eventually got out of the city and was on their way to the Fire Republic. Once they were in the Fire Republic Ren made Hope go to what was once the Royal Palace but still the family's home. Ren jumped off of Hope's back and guided her into the palace. The group followed Ren into the palace with a confused look. When Ren got into the main room that still had the thrones she slammed her foot on the ground. She walked over to one of the walls and kicked it, biting her lower lip.
"Ren, what are you doing?" Ela asked.
"Well Lord Zuko, Lady Mai, and my great Gran-Gran Tylee told me about all these secrets about the Royal Palace. There are so many. I mean I lost count of how many there are. They told me when I was younger and continued to tell me as I got older. Like Toph told me secrets about the Beifong family. Not the point any way I'm sure Azula told Aki of at least a few of them in the short amount of time they were together. The secrets may even help us," Ren said.
"Ren, Honora and I have been all over this palace as children. I know Iroh explored every inch as a child and so did Kiran and there are no secrets," Izumi said.
Ren touched the wall again before she looked up. She used her earthbending to make small pillars to step on come out of the wall. She jumped on the pillars until she reached the top then she pushed a switch which opened a secret door. Ren looked down with a smile before she used her airbending to jump down. Izumi and Honora looked in the tunnel then at each other. Ren tilted her head with a smile as she lit a small flame in her hand. All the firebenders lit a small flame as the large group walked into the tunnel. Ren had never explored the palace much as a child even with all the secrets she knew. Ren looked around the tunnel to see if she can get some form of hint to where they were going. When they finally got to the end of the tunnel Ren saw a huge library with pictures of the previous fire lords on the wall. Ren saw that the room was full of books and so much more. Ren put the flame out as she walked into the room. Ren walked over to one of the bookshelves and pulled a book out. She opened it to find the book was about Azula. She opened another to find it about Fire Lord Ozai. Ren continued to open books to find information about the fire lords, spouses, or children. She found books on the palace and the Fire Sages. Everyone watched as Ren continued to pull books off the shelves and look through them as fast as she could. Ren knew that all this information could help Aki beat them if she knew about this room. Ren ushered the group out of the room before she used her platinum to close the second opening. They walked to the top of stairs and Ren used metal to cover the door again before she closed the entrance with earth. Everyone looked at Ren as she stared at the wall. Ren flashed back to when she threw Azula in the Fog of Lost Soul.
Ren was bloodbending Azula close to the cliff. She was about to throw her in when she tightened her grip. She thought about how Azula was a monster. She screamed at Azula how much of a monster she was when Vikram appeared. Ren tilted her head slightly.
"Who is really the monster here Avatar Ren? Look in the mirror before calling anymore a monster," Vikram said.
"Ren, can you hear me? Ren, snap out of it. Ren, c'mon," Sky said, shaking Ren.
Ren shook her head and looked at Sky. She blinked a few times still looking at Sky. Ren started to walk away when she heard footsteps. She turned around to see Aki running into the room where everyone was standing. She used her airbending to knock her down. Aki slammed into the wall as Ren ran towards her. Aki and Ren both brought their hands in the air before the brought them down and together with giant flames. There was a loud explosion as the two women flew back. The group ran towards the direction of the noise to see Aki starting to stand and Ren looking up. Ren used her metal cables to pull Aki towards her. Aki used her firebending to shoot flames out of her feet, making Ren release her. Ren used her airbending to stand then her earthbending to pull the earth out from under Aki. Ren tried to send Aki in the air but Aki jumped down and slammed her foot down, sending a giant flame at Ren. Ren pulled her arms up and an earth barrier came up. Ren jumped over the barrier and started to run towards Aki. Aki started to send quick fire jabs at Ren but Ren avoided every attack. She soon slammed her whole body into Aki and threw the two onto the ground. Ren punched Aki in the face and kneed her in the side. Ren saw the blood on Aki's face before Aki tried to hit her under the chin with fire on her hand. Ren bent back onto her hands before she stood again.
"You're a freak just like your great grandmother. The only difference is she was a circus freak," Aki said.
"I'd rather be a freak than a psycho. I mean it does run in the family so I should have expected it," Ren said.
Aki ran towards Ren but Ren stood still until Aki was within arm's reach. She grabbed Aki's shoulder and flipped herself over Aki. When she was behind Aki she kicked her in the back, knocking her to the ground. Aki spun around creating a flame as she spun. Ren sent an air blast at the ground to send herself into the air. Ren pulled water out of the vases that were close by and sent ice bullets at Aki. Aki avoided the attack before she started to run away. Ren stood in the door way and sent her cables for Aki but missed. She pulled her cables back and watched Aki continue to run away. Ren saw that Aki dropped something and she walked over to pick it up. She looked at it before she looked back at Iroh and Ela. There were two pictures in a locket. Ren knew how Aki had gotten one of the pictures but not the other. Ren ran her hand over the two pictures. One was Ela with Aki when she was first born and the other picture was a family picture of Iroh, Korra and the children. Ren felt a tear run down her cheek as continued to stand there. Iroh walked over to Ren to see the tears in her eyes. He turned her around and hugged her.
"Oh, Iroh where did we go wrong?" Ren asked.
"Korra? Oh, well there was nothing you could have done. You have been in the Spirit World for twenty-three years. I should have seen this coming with all the things she did to Ren," Iroh said.
"Uncle Iroh why are you talking to me like I'm Korra? I wanted to know where I went wrong as Avatar Ren. I messed up. I am the one who should have seen this whole thing coming. Look at how Aki and I have been our whole lives. I should have expected it. She may have protected me but we fought so much. Probably as much as Azula did with Lord Zuko," Ren said.
Iroh gave Ren a half smile before he looked at his mother. Ren closed the locket and put it against her chest. She started to walk away when she heard someone call her name. She turned around to see Takumi there with a half-smile. Ren motioned for Takumi to follow her and she saw Sky follow as well. She laughed a little and thought Sky being jealous. Sky placed his arm around Ren pulling her closer to him as Takumi came up to them. Ren laughed at Sky as he eyed Takumi. Ren wondered what had happened since the fight with Aki. Sky was not this possessive of her around Takumi before. Ren opened the door to the room that would have been Azula's room when she was a child. Ren remembered it being a guest room because no one wanted to stay in the room. They felt like staying in that room was a bad thing. There were so many guest rooms that it never got used unless Ren came because she really didn't care. She didn't believe in the bad room thing. Ren walked into the room and started to run her hand along the wall. She soon stopped and turned her head to look at the wall. Ren created three fire circles and sent them at the wall. The large one was soon absorbed into the wall, then the medium and small one. Ren waited for a moment and a small compartment popped out in front of her. She lifted her head and stood on her tip toes to see what was inside. She reached inside to grab the stuff with a smile.
"Gotcha. Now let's see what Azula has been hiding in here all these years. Must be important for Aki to want to get her hands on it," Ren said to herself.
Ren opened a scroll to see battle tactics. At the top it said tactics to take down the avatar and his team. Ren looked at the scrolls, confused on why they would be hidden in the room for so long. Ren closed the compartment and walked out of the room with the scroll in her hand. She thinks she knows why Aki is doing what she is doing. She also thinks she knows her battle strategy. Ren called for everyone to meet her at the vehicles because it was time to leave. Once there Ren told Sky she was going to drive and Iroh groaned as he thought about the trip to the Fire Republic. Ren doesn't even remember the ride to Republic City which she found slightly concerning. Once the group got on the ferry Ren sat on the bench and opened the locket again. She ran her fingers across Korra and Iroh's family photo. Everyone watched as Ren stared at the locket. They all gave her the distance they thought she wanted until they got to Air Temple Island. When they finally arrived at the island Ren walked up by herself and looked for her glider. She started to throw things out of the way until she found it. Everyone on the island looked at Ren as she opened her glider and took off. Ren stared at the portal and knew she wasn't going to back down. She was going to stand her ground. She tightened her grip on the locket and scroll. She looked up at the locket dangling in her hand from her glider as she entered the Spirit World. When she landed she closed her glider and spun it as she looked around. She finally ran into her old team avatar, Iroh, her grandfather, Mai, her great Gran-Gran Tylee, her great grandpa Aang, and Korra. She looked at Lord Zuko before she threw the locket and scroll at his feet. He looked down at the two before he looked back at Ren. Zuko could see that Ren was angry so he raised an eyebrow slightly. Ren screamed and threw her hands down, making the earth shake a little. She pointed at him making the wind around him pick up.
"You! This is your fault. You and your daughters. Aki was carrying that locket with her when I fought her this last time. Family is what she wanted. Her real family. She still would be related to you but you couldn't have left her where she was could you? She has killed people. My son lost his mother because of her. I lost a child because of her! She killed my grandfather! She wants to use Azula's battle tactics to get rid of my brother, your great great grandchildren, Sky and I. You three were selfish. You can save that we were trying to help Korra and Iroh bullshit because there were Raava knows how many children that needed a home. She is going to use it on me then she is going to use it on her family. Real and adopted. Unlike my son and her siblings she doesn't see the difference. Betrayal is Betrayal and blood is blood to her," Ren said.
"Zuko, what is she talking about?" Mai asked, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Don't worry about it love. I'm sure Ren can handle the issue. Izumi and Honora are there for guidance if she needs it. I have taught them so much," Zuko said, trying to hide the secret.
"Don't worry about it? You helped cause this," Ren said as she breathed fire. "I should hit you with a rock or two. I should make your nightmares look like the best thing you've ever seen."
"Ren, I understand your frustrated but in the Spirit World I can't do anything. I'm sorry for what has happened. Talk with Izumi, Honora, and Iroh. Maybe even Kiran can help. She was mischievous," Zuko said.
Ren couldn't believe it. Aki was causing all of these problems and all Lord Zuko had to say was sorry. Ren pulled two chunks of earth out of the ground and held them in the air. Zuko stood with an unfazed look on his face. Everyone watched as Ren continued to hold the chunks of earth in the air. Zuko knew Ren wouldn't throw the two large chunks at him so he continued to stand there. Ren looked down at the ground before she dropped the chunks of earth. She looked at Lord Zuko and sent a fire blast at him before she picked up the locket and scroll. She placed the locket against her chest and looked up. She started to walk away when she felt a hand grab her. She looked back to see the airbending tattoos. She looked up to see her Grandpa Tenzin standing there with a worried look. Ren gave him a small smile as she pulled away. Tenzin watched Ren walked away and he flashed back to a time when Korra had pulled away from him in the same manor to walk away. Ren opened her glider to fly back to the island. When she arrived back at the island Ren walked into her room and placed the locket and scroll in her cabinets. She turned around to see Sky standing there with a worried look on his face. Ren gave him a reassuring smile before she walked past him. That night at dinner everyone was talking but Ren. Ren looked at her plate and began to push her dumplings around. She looked up when someone cleared their throat. Ren looked up to see everyone staring at her. Ren looked at them for a moment before she flashed back to a moment with Aki.
"You have been lucky your whole life. Born lucky if you ask me just like every other avatar. You have always been privileged. Everything handed to you. The instant someone hears Avatar Ren they stop what they are doing to bow, kiss your ass, and see what they can get you. You wouldn't know tragedy if it slapped you in the face. I am a princess and you still got better treatment than I did in my own nation. You know your Mommy and Daddy didn't want you but they kept you because you were the avatar so even if they did get rid of you think about it. I mean you would eventually come back anyway." Aki said.
"That's not true. I'm going to tell my Mommy and Daddy. I'm gonna tell Uncle Iroh too. You're going to be in big trouble. You're just being mean to me. I'm a good person and a good avatar. I hope you get grounded," a young Ren yelled.
Ren found herself back at the dining room table. Ren grabbed Sky's arm and the table as she tried to focus on the room. She looked at Sky before she looked at Iroh. Ren started to lean against Sky before she stood. Sky looked down at his radio for a moment when it started to make a static noise. Ren looked at Sky's radio as the static noise continued. She tilted her head a bit and used her metalbending to see if there was something wrong with radio. When she couldn't sense anything she continued to stare at the radio. Ren heard a click a few times and she looked at Iroh and Bumi. There was a static noise and a final click. There was dead air like someone was going to talk. Ren stared at the radio, concerned with what was going to happen.
"Hello Sky. Oh, Ren I know you can hear this too. I bet you're wondering how you can hear me. I will at least give you one hint because if I tell you everything it kills all the fun. I took one of those officers of yours. I hope you can get here in time. It would be such a shame to let the talent of the officer go to waste if I killed them because you didn't get here in time. I hope you and the team make it in time," Aki said.
With that there was another click and the room was silent. Everyone looked at Sky and Ren to see what they would say. Ren sat down and closed her eyes. Everyone stared at Ren as she sat in the lotus position. Ren was trying to focus on Aki's spirit to find her. Ren started to make faces as she concentrated harder on finding Aki's spirit. Ren didn't think she would have so much trouble trying to find Aki. When she finally found Aki, she felt a burning sensation that in a matter of seconds got extremely hot. Ren's eyes shot opened as she gasped for air and leaned forward. Sky gave her a concerned look as he placed a hand on her back. Ren looked down at her hands to see that they were both fine but they still burned. She stood up and went to get her glider as quickly as she could. When she returned she found her team, Takumi, and Haru already standing. She smiled at them before the group grabbed their things and made their way to the stables. They climbed onto one of the bison and Ren yelled for them to take off. They started to fly over Republic City when Sesi pointed to two figures in the distance. Ren landed the air bison behind a building and looked for an advantage but she didn't see one. Ren couldn't even see who Aki had kidnapped because Aki was standing in the way. Aki moved to the side a bit and Ren gasped but quickly put her hand over her mouth. She saw Lieutenant Kalli tied to a post with cuts, bruises, and burns. Ren looked at her team before she looked at Lee and the twins nodded at each other. The twins swung their gliders at the same time, knocking Aki to the ground. Aki looked at the group from the ground. Takumi ran over to try and release Lieutenant Kalli from the poll. As he was trying to release Lieutenant Kalli Aki shot a blast of fire at Takumi to try to stop him. Sesi and Sky pulled water out of their pouches to make a water wall then they knocked Aki down with the remaining water. Aki growled before she made a giant wall of fire, sending it at the group. Everyone flew back into a building. Ren propped herself up to see everyone slowly trying to get up. She watched as Aki picked them off one by one. She stood and ran towards Aki before she could hit Sesi.
"Don't even think about it. Leave them alone and fight someone like me," Ren said as she smashed the two into a building.
Aki sent a strong fire blast towards Ren but Ren used her airbending to propel herself in the air. When Ren landed she collapsed the building next to Aki with her earthbending, hoping Aki would get stuck under the rubble. Aki used her firebending to evade the rubble and sent a fire whip at Ren. Ren used her airbending to propel herself in the air before she pulled water out of Sky and Sesi's pouches. Ren sent two tentacles after Aki and tried to wrap them around her. Aki sent quick jabs and hit Ren, sending her into a building. Ren stood and sent her metal cables at Aki but Aki jumped over them. Aki shot lightning at Ren but she redirected it. Jinora was watching what she could of the battle from the island but when she saw the lightning she knew they had to go to the fight. She called for Kai, her Aunt Kya, her Uncle Bumi, Iroh, Tonraq, Senna, Lin, Su, Izumi, Honora, Ela, and Kiran. The group quickly took off on one of the bison. Ren and Aki continued their fight but Ren didn't think she was going to be able to keep fighting much longer. Aki kicked, sending a powerful fire blast at Ren. Ren stuck up an earth barrier in time before she kicked it into Aki. Ren knocked back with her airbending then waterbending. Aki looked up at Ren before she ran away. Ren knew she couldn't chase Aki in her condition. Ren started to run and tap everyone on the face to try to wake them up.
"No, no you guys have to wake up. You have to be okay. I need you guys to be okay. C'mon wake up already," Ren said tapping Lee's face.
Ren turned around when she heard her name. She saw the group running towards her. Ren had tears in her eyes as she looked at her group laying on the ground in a severe condition. She looked at everyone's parents as they saw their children. She watched as Ela dropped to her knees next Takumi and cried. She saw Iroh pull his three children close and held them tight with tears in his eyes. She saw Su pull Haru's head on her lap and start to wipe the dirt from his face as tears dripped down from her face onto his. She saw Lin wrap her arms around Sky and hold him tight as she cried into his shoulder. She looked over at her parents who were holding onto Lee with tears of their own in their eyes. Ren continued to look around at everyone with tears in her eyes. The earth around Ren shook and the wind picked up. Everyone looked at Ren as she screamed and fire came out. Ren soon collapsed to her knees as she cried harder. Kai let go of Lee to go catch Ren when she started to lean to the side. Everyone saw Ren was now unconscious. Everyone looked at Kya to see what she would say but she just looked at all the unconscious young adults in front of her. She looked at everyone else for a moment then gave them a half smile. The sad reality was the group was very large and this was a huge task for her. She was going to need help that she didn't have.
"I can't do this myself. Even with Senna this is an extremely hard task. There are just too many of them. If I had Sky and Sesi or even Ren that would help but I don't. Maybe we could take them to the Spirit World and my mother could help. Korra might even be able to help. If not then I don't know what we are going to do," Kya said.
Everyone nodded at Kya as Jinora went to get one of the bison and Kai went to get the other. Kai, Lin, Sky, Su, Lee, Ren, Senna, Bumi, Haru, Kalli, Kiran, Ela, Takumi, and Honora went on one bison. Jinora, Iroh, Sesi, Asha, Gopan, Kya, Izumi, and Tonraq went on the other bison. The groups quickly took off towards the Spirit Portal. It didn't take long to get to the portal and enter. Jinora and Kai looked for the group before they landed. They quickly found them and landed. Kya jumped down as fast as she could, running over to Korra and Katara.
"Mom, Korra. Senna and I need your help. The children fought Aki and lost. They are all in pretty bad condition and the two of us can't heal all of them by ourselves. There is only two of us and nine of them. They have a better chance with four of us then just two. Please think of all the people here that could lose a child if you don't, or even what would happen if Ren would be the only one to die. I really need your help," Kya said.
Katara and Korra looked at all the parents holding their children. Korra looked at how helpless her children looked in her husband's arms. She then saw Ren in Kai's arm making different facial expressions. Korra looked at Katara before she nodded at Kya. Katara looked at her granddaughter then her great grandchildren before she nodded at Kya. Kya hugged both Katara and Korra as everyone slowly got off the bison. Toph walked over to the group and pushed Jinora who was holding Ren towards Katara. Toph then pushed Tonraq who was holding Kalli towards Senna. She pushed Iroh who was holding Sesi towards Kya. She finally pushed Bumi who had Takumi towards Korra. Everyone stared at the blind woman before the healers started to get down to business. It had been half an hour and the healers were still working very hard. Kya and Senna were the first to finish healing their first person. Senna went over to Sky and Kya went to Gopan. Korra looked at Asha but moved onto Haru, knowing that working on Asha would be too difficult for her as his mother. Everyone stared at Katara as she continued to work on Ren. They could see how focused she was but something was concerning even Katara. Kya finished with Gopan a half hour later and she started working on Lee. When Korra and Senna were done they walked over to Katara to offer some assistance. When Kya had finally finished with Lee she looked over at her mother to see that she was still working on Ren with help from Senna and Korra. Kya looked at the ground before she walked over to offer her own assistance. When Kya walked over to help Ren groaned a little and everyone looked at her. Ren opened her eyes a bit to look at everyone. A circle of earth, fire, air, then water formed around Ren before it shot in different directions. Ren soon passed back out. The group was laid near each other to be monitored but everyone watched Ren the most. Everyone but one person. Jinora looked over to see Ela staring at Takumi. She watched as the woman walked over to Takumi, running her hand over his face. Jinora got up and slowly made her way over to the two.
"I bet you're worried but they are all in good hands. My Gran-Gran Katara is the best healer the world has ever known. Trust me the first time is scary but as he puts himself in danger more and gets hurt more it will be less scary. You will always say there won't be a next time but there always is a next time. If he is anything like my children and their friends, I am telling you there will always be a next time. He will scare you at times but you will be so full of pride and one day when he has children you will be telling them stories of the things he has done. People will even tell stories about him. Ren and Lee still scare me whenever they run out of the temple to save the world. I promise it will be alright," Jinora said with a smile.
"I'm just worried that Aki did this to him, and Iroh's other children because of me. I just don't want her to continue to do things like this. I don't want her to hurt people. I almost lost my son today. You almost lost both of your children. If it wasn't for Ren none of us would have our children. I need them all to be okay. I can't lose my son. We were made out cast then I had Aki but Ryuu left me. I had Takumi but his father left too. Ren has been the only person that was kind to me since Takumi's father left. My son is my life. Other than my mother he is all I have," Ela said.
"Ren! Where is Ren? Is she okay?" Sky asked as he sat up.
"She is well... She is here Sky. Katara was the one who worked on her so her chances are good but we won't know until she wakes up," Lin said.
"Ren! Sky!" Lee yelled out as he said.
"She's here. Gran-Gran Katara worked on her," Jinora said.
"Avatar Ren! Sky! President Sesi!" Kalli yelled as she looked for the three.
"Asha! Gopan! Ren!" Sesi yelled as she sat up.
"Ren! Lee!" Haru yelled, sitting up.
"Ren! Gopan! Sesi!" Asha yelled as he held his head.
"Asha! Sesi! Ren!" Gopan screamed, looking for the three.
"Kalli! Ren! Sky!" Takumi screamed as he sat up and collided heads with Ela.
"Why is everyone yelling for Badgermole? Geez. I think you guys need to relax with the yelling a bit. We know she is pregnant but we established a while ago she is here with us. Babies are fine too. So, you don't have to worry grandson. You'll still have four Beifongs running around your home," Toph said.
"Sky! Lee! Sesi! Is everyone okay? I feel really sick. I think I'm going to need help back to the island. I think I'm going to throw up. Pulling buildings down and running through them has not been easy. I guess I need to take Aki down and fast," Ren said.
Ren started to push off of the ground but failed in getting up. She flashed back to every fight she had ever had with Aki. She gasped before a wave of earth lifted below her. Everyone fell to the ground and looked at Ren. Ren looked at everyone as they all stayed on the ground. Aki was the clue to everything. Everything in Aki's past lead to why she was causing chaos. Ren placed her hands on the ground and used her airbending to stand. Ren took a deep breath before she tried to take a step. Ren flashed back to when she was young and she fought was fighting Aki about when Aki confronted her about Sky. She then flashed back to the most recent battle only in her flash back the outcome was different from the real outcome. Ren closed her eyes and started to drop to the ground. Kai got up as fast as he could and tried to catch Ren but she still hit the ground with a thud. Kai winced a bit before he bent down to check on her. Katara quickly got up to join Kai and check on Ren's condition. They could see that Ren's facial expressions were changing. Ren soon started to mumble in her unconscious state.
"Aki, please stop... Please. You don't have to do this. Help me someone help..." Ren trailed off.
Iroh and Korra looked at each other before they looked at Ren. Ela looked at Kiran before she looked at the ground. Honora and Izumi both looked at Zuko for a moment then turning their attention to Ren. Aang and Zuko continued to stare at Ren the whole time, thinking of the time they fought. Aang thought about how Katara must see himself in Ren whenever the two got hurt. He remembered when Katara first got to the Spirit World all she would do was tell stories about Ren's accomplishments. She was so proud of Ren. She did miss Aang and wanted to talk with him but she wanted him to know about everything Ren had done. The group looked at Ren and hoped there was something Katara could do. They hoped that Ren wouldn't take so long to recover this time. The world needed her.
