Book four Peace Chapter Fourteen: Redemption

It had been a few weeks since the battle with Aki and the group was sitting in the dining area. They were silently picking at their food, trying to hide the fact they were disappointed in themselves. Min walked in and sat next to Lee but he turned away from her. Min placed her hand on Lee's shoulder but he pushed it off. Link gave his sister a sympathetic look when she put her head down. Ren looked around at the group and noticed they all felt the same way she did. Ren suddenly got angry at Aki, her team, herself, just everything. She grabbed the table and pulled it out of the ground, screaming in the process. She threw it against the wall next to her and started to breath heavily. The group stared at her as she stood there, breathing heavily. Everyone ran into the dining room to see what the problem had been. They stopped when they saw Ren glaring at them as they entered the room. Sky touched Ren's hand but she pulled away from him. Ren looked down at the group before she walked out of the temple. She didn't understand how she could fail them again. She felt the tears roll down her cheek. Ren walked to Jinora's study and opened a drawer to see the gift her Grandpa Tenzin had given her as a child still where the two had left it. She had picked it up and ran her hands across the wooden necklace. He had helped her make it after the one she found in the Spirit World had broken. Tenzin help her make a wooden pendent with the symbol for earth and she had two symbols of air on the necklace. Ren said she wanted a new air symbol on it because Tenzin was so important to her so he had to be part of the necklace but she still had the air symbol from the old necklace to attach as well. The day Ren received the necklace from Tenzin she was surprised because she thought it was for her mother and that's why she made the necklace the way she did. Things that were important to Ren could be given to Jinora in case anything happened to her. Ren walked out of the temple with her necklace still in her hand. She walked to the spot where all of their friends and family with the exception of Iroh, Lord Zuko and Lady Mai had been buried. It was still on the island but a distance from everything else so the graves wouldn't be disturbed. Ren held onto the necklace tightly as she fell to her knees with tears in her eyes. She never saw her team, her parents, Min, Link, Haru, Takumi, Kya, Bumi, Lin, Su, Izumi, Iroh, Honora, Pema, and Korra's parents follow her. She began to silently cry as she clenched the necklace, pulling it close to her.

"Please. I need your help. I need to know you are listening to me. That you listen even when I'm not in the Spirit World. I can't take this anymore. I can't take being the avatar. I can't take constantly losing to Aki," Ren started.

"I didn't know Ren prayed to the spirits," Link said.

"She doesn't. Ren is supposed to be a very spiritual person with being the avatar but she does not pray to them. Simple meditation and going into the Spirit World are as far as she has ever gone. It never made sense considering the avatar must be spiritually connected," Lee said.

"Well Ren is praying to them so what does that mean?" Min asked.

"Ren probably has lost all her hope. Which means we are screwed. When she is fighting someone and loses hope she just gives up. She almost died during the war because of it. Vikram was able to blind her and use some evil serum on her because she lost hope. Who knows what Aki could do to her if she lost hope," Sky said as he watched Ren talk to the graves.

"I don't think I can do this without any of you. Please point me in the right direction. Give me some answers... Just one. Answer me!" Ren screamed as she slammed her fist on the ground making the earth shake.

Jinora walked over to Ren and crouched down, smiling at her. She pulled Ren close as Ren sobbed. Ren didn't understand. She had no answers and she didn't get any answers from anyone. She looked up to see the group giving her a sympathetic look. She clung to Jinora and continued to cry. Ren had to think of a plan. She thought even a stupid plan would be better than anything. She looked at Haru, then Sky. She continued to look between the two with her eyes still full of tears. She eventually wiped the tears out of her eyes. She drug her arm under her nose to pull the snot away. Su sighed and pinched her nose as she thought about how she wished Ren would have broken that habit. Sky tilted his head as Ren formed a smile. He did not like the smile on her face. He looked at Haru and by the way Haru look he didn't either. Ren walked up to Sky and he shook his head. He wanted no part of whatever crazy plan Ren had come up with this time. Ren had come up with way too many crazy plans these last couple of months. Ren took a step closer to Sky and he backed away because he knew she was going to use one of her little head games.

"No. Ren whatever it is the answer is already no. I don't care what you say or what you do. I am sick of these crazy plans. You need to understand the word no," Sky said.

Ren wrapped her arms around Sky and moved close to him. "But you don't even know what it is. You don't know if it's crazy if you don't hear it. I mean I could do it without you but I'm sure you wouldn't be happy. I'm sure it would be a lot of paper work if I did it your way. I know you hate paperwork because it keeps you busy from the other thing you want to be busy doing. If you do it my way you only have to technically put a temporary release of custody form in for them and we just have to watch all of them. I will even do the paperwork and keep an eye on them and pick them up. I will make sure everything is okay the whole time," Ren said with a smile.

Sky looked at Ren who was smiling at him before he groaned. "Raava, why do you do this to me? You always put me in impossible situations. As part of Team Avatar and your husband I'm supposed to trust your judgement but as Chief of Police I'm supposed to tell you that you're an idiot and you can't have my prisoners. You are responsible for them. Nothing is to happen to them or anyone. I swear I will I don't know if anything happens while they are in your custody Ren. I want the papers on my desk of the people you want to be temporarily released. You will not go to get any of them until it receives my approval. I hope you understand," Sky said as Ren kissed him an ran off. "How do I always get myself in these situations? I need to learn to tell that woman no. Maybe Aki is right and that us working together is a conflict of interest."

"Maybe if you would stop thinking with the thing in your pants and thought with the thing in your head a bit more you would be able to tell her no more. Plus, if you stopped thinking with that so much you two working together wouldn't be a conflict of interest. If I was still chief, I would have told her no," Lin said slapping him in the back of the head.

Sky looked at her for a moment then turned to see Ren and Hope take off for Republic City. He sighed and dropped his head as he thought about what had just happened. Ren had Hope jump into Yue Bay and swim as fast as she could. Ren wanted to start her plan as quickly as possible. When they reached Republic City Ren used her waterbending to pull the water out of Hope's fur. The two soon took off towards the Police Headquarters. When they finally arrived Ren told Hope to stay in the lobby. Lieutenant Kalli had returned to work. Kalli nodded at Ren as she walked over to her. Ren had requested a stack of temporary release forms, making Kalli raise an eyebrow. Ren stuck her hand out and Kalli slowly handed Ren the papers. Ren thanked her and made her way for Sky's office. Mako looked up from his papers to see Ren walking to Sky's office. Ren sat at Sky's desk and slowly reached for a pen but pulled back. She sat there for a while and stared at the papers, thinking about how maybe this wasn't a good choice. She picked the pen up and slowly filled out the paper. When she finished she opened the door to find Sky standing on the other side. She moved aside so he could come in to look at the papers. She stood there and waited for his answer. She saw him quickly look through the papers and she could tell he didn't look pleased. He looked at her then back at the papers. He sighed and threw the papers on his desk. He pinched his nose, taking a deep breath.

"You can't be serious? You're insane Ren! I can't believe you want me to release those people into your custody. I mean seriously those people. First, two of them don't have their bending anymore because you took it from them. Second, they all tried to kill you. Third, one declared war Ren. War that killed people! Fourth, the four don't like to work with earthbenders or firebenders. Maybe I should keep going! Clearly the Azula situation taught you nothing!" Sky screamed at Ren as he threw the papers at her.

"Do not compare this to the Azula situation! That was totally different. I never battled Azula before I have faced them before so they know what I am capable of. People change Sky! Ela and Kiran did. You are being unreasonable. I will do this with or without you! One just makes more work for you," Ren said as she pushed past Sky.

"Stop right there Ren or I will place you under arrest for trying to help my prisoners escape! I will also place you under arrest for aiding and imbedding. I will arrest you for not complying with police orders so please don't do this," Sky said.

All the officers in the building looked up at the two. The whole building had become silent as everyone waited for the two to respond. Ren turned around to look at Sky but he stood his ground. She looked around the room for a moment before she shook her head. She walked over to Sky and rolled her eyes. Sky tilted his head and sighed. Ren stuck her hands out towards him and he gave her a confused look.

"Isn't it obvious? You're going to have to arrest me Chief Beifong because I'm going to do what I planned on doing if you don't," Ren said.

Sky closed his eyes before he gave his orders. "Kalli, please arrest Avatar Ren. Place her in one of the rooms until someone comes. Also, do something with Hope," Sky said.

Kalli looked at Sky and he nodded before he turned to walk away. Everyone looked at Sky as he continued to walk towards his office. Ren yelled at Sky and took a step forward as he continued to walk. Ren heard Kalli send her metal cables towards her and she used her metalbending to make Kalli's cables grab Sky. Sky looked back at Ren, pulling water out of his pouch. Kalli dropped the cable from Sky's wrist and Ren pulled water out of the cooler. Sky turned around, sending a water whip at Ren but she countered it with her own water whip. Sky formed four water tentacles and Ren ran towards him. She jumped and spun, knocking Sky to the ground with a water whip. Mako stood as he shook his head at the two. Sky pulled the water out from Ren making her lose her balance and shot two water jets at Ren. Ren slid back and tried to get up but looked back to see Kalli's cables around her wrist. She looked at Kalli who stood firm as she held onto the cables. Ren looked at Sky and watched him nod at Kalli. Kalli helped Ren up and led her to a room that she would be held in until someone would come for her. Sky sighed before he turned and walked into his office, slamming the door behind him. All the officers looked at Sky's door for a bit before they went back to work. Kalli opened the door and handcuffed Ren to the table, quickly leaving the room. Ren rolled her eyes before she took the handcuffs off and started to tap her fingers on the table. She groaned and placed her chin on the table. She eventually got bored and propped her feet on the table, leaned back. She closed her eyes as she waited for whoever was coming to get her to arrive. Ren eventually heard the metal slide and she placed the chair down.

"Arrested?! You got yourself arrested? Are you serious Ren? When Sky called me, I thought he was kidding but here your dumbass sits. Ren, I just can't comprehend this. Lin told me about how Korra got arrested but she didn't know the rules around Republic City. You have lived on Air Temple Island your whole life and know the rules of the city. Ren you're at idiot! I saw the papers on Sky's desk and he has every right to arrest you. If you would do that, I hope you know that hurts a lot of people Ren. Think of Haru and Sky. I should leave you in here!" Kuvira yelled.

Ren looked up at her to see if she was finished or going to continue. When Kuvira said nothing, Ren stood and walked out of the room, looking for Hope. When she found her, she started to walk out of the building when she heard someone call her name. She turned around to see Sky running towards her. Ren turned around and continued to walk. Sky continued to run until he caught up to her, handing her the papers. Ren looked down to see the papers had his approval. She looked at him and he gave her a small smile as he nodded. Ren kissed him before jumping on Hope and taking off to her first destination. When she arrived she saw the platinum everywhere. She walked into the building and handed the sentries the paper work before she walked to the cells. She saw that the doors were made of ice but everything else was platinum. Ren bent the door open to see Hong Li sitting on his bed. He ran towards her and she used part of his cell to pull him back. She walked in, getting as close to him as she could. She told him he had a chance to get out of jail but he had to help her with no problems. She told him maybe it could even become a permanent thing. He had agreed to help her and Ren left the platinum around him as a precaution. Ren walked over to Kanan's cell to see that in the few years he had been in prison he had become a different person than he was during the war. She could see weakness in him. He had lost weight and Ren saw a wooden cane near his bed. She wondered if he would really be as helpful as she thought. She took her first step in to his cell and he looked up at her. She sat down on the ground, looking at him with a small smile. She told him why she had come and gave him the same offer that she gave Hong Li. She gave Kanan his wooden cane so he could walk out of the cell. When the two exited he looked down at the ground to see Hong Li in restraints. He looked at Ren then back at Hong Li before he shook his head. Ren pulled Hong Li with her as Kanan followed her. Ren walked over to Hope and threw Hong Li on top of her shell. Ren assisted Kanan onto Hope's shell and she led Hope to the next destination. Ren looked at the building made out of platinum with a confused look but dismissed the thought. She walked in, again handing in the proper paperwork. She quickly retrieved Jun, Hyun, Kaito, and Siku. She looked at the group then at Hope. She didn't think of how he was going to get them all back to the island. She made a make shift sled and put one part around Hope and the other part around herself. She made it so no one could leave and she started towards the ferry. Once they were at the ferry Ren and Hope slowly pulled the group on the ferry before they collapsed. The two laid on the ground as the ferry made its way to the island. Once they arrived at the island Ren groaned as she and Hope started to drag the group up to the courtyard. When they arrived everyone in the courtyard stopped their conversation to stare at Ren. Haru stood from his spot to walk over to Kanan and Hong Li. Kanan tried to hug him but Haru pushed him away.

"You're an idiot. I hope this idea back fires in your face," Haru said as he walked away.

Ren looked at the ground and she thought back to what Kuvira said. She couldn't shake the feeling maybe Kuvira was right. Ren looked at the group she had assembled then everyone else in the courtyard. Su looked at Kanan, then Ren before shaking her head. Ren closed her eyes, thinking back to the day Kanan took Zaofu from Suyin and her family. She snapped back into reality when she felt Kanan's wooden cane touch her back. Ren turned her attention to Kanan to see him putting more weight on his cane than he was before. He started to cough and asked Ren to assist him to a bench. Ren helped him but after she turned around she noticed something off about his heartbeat. She turned around to face him as Sky ran up the stairs to see if everything had gone smoothly. Ren gave Kanan a sympathetic look. Everyone gave Ren a confused look until she spoke.

"You're dying," she said gently.

"For a year now. I guess this is the world's way of repaying me for causing the war and trying to kill you. Most would say it is quite fitting. Wouldn't you?" Kanan said.

Ren heard something tell her to forgive him. She hugged him, catching him off guard a bit. "No, I don't actually. I forgive you. I shouldn't wish death upon you because of what you did. A wise woman once told me that everyone deserves a second chance in life. She even told me the mistake never mattered. A wise man once told me that if I must never let the past blind me for it shall prevent me from moving forward and I will go nowhere that way. I would be the same avatar if I lived in the past," Ren said.

Kanan looked at her for a moment before he hugged her back. Lin rolled her eyes as Ren pulled back. Ren looked at the rest of the group she assembled. She didn't really know what she would do with them. She knew they could help her in some way but they all needed to be watched. She knew she couldn't stay up all the time to watch them. She sighed as she looked down at the ground. She looked up when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She saw Lee standing there with a reassuring smile. Ren just felt so annoyed by the error in her decisions lately. Ren started to pull the group towards dining area to make sure they were fed but someone stopped her. She turned around to see Sesi holding her arm and her team behind her along with Takumi with smiles on their faces. Ren gave them all a small smile. The group helped Ren pull them into the dining area and a few went to go get food. Ren looked at Jun and Hyun and thought about how they didn't have their bending. She didn't even know if giving them their bending back would be a good idea. They both looked at her, making her look at the doorway to see if anyone was coming with food. Sky pulled her close, placing his hand on her stomach. She felt Kaito and Siku staring at her. The food was finally brought into the dining area and everyone began to eat. Her team made an assignment of who would watch the group first during the night. The group would sleep in one large room and be watched by four people. Lee, Sky, Gopan, and Takumi would be the first group. Ren had to think of another person to join Asha, Sesi, and herself. She sighed as she played with the fruit in her bowl. She heard someone clear their throat and she looked up to see Haru standing in the doorway. She looked back down at her bowl, continuing to push the fruit around. Haru sat next to Sky and the two began to talk about what the plan for the night would be. Haru looked at Ren for a moment then back at Sky. Haru nodded at Sky before he walked away. Later that night Lee, Sky, Gopan, and Takumi took the first shift. They agreed to switch off in five hours so each group could get at least five hours of sleep. The four men positioned themselves so they could see could see the whole group the whole time. The other four went to bed and hoped all went well. Ren closed her eyes and drifted off to what would soon become a nightmare.

Ren looked around to find an empty temple so she started to yell out for everyone. She soon started to run throughout the temple to try and find someone but she still found no one. She was soon knocked down by a gust of air. She turned to see Hyun laughing at her. She stumbled to get up and started to run. She was soon thrown into the wall by a jet of water. She looked up to see Kaito, Jun, and Siku laughing. She tried to bend the water back at them but she couldn't bend. She quickly got up and started to run inside the temple to have a chunk of earth thrown in her direction. She saw Hong Li walking towards he with a grin. She felt something hit her in the back of the head and when she looked up she saw Kanan standing over her with his cane raised again. She raised her hands and screamed.

"Ren. Ren, c'mon wake up already. Ren, you're going to wake everyone in Republic City if you don't wake up," Sesi said shaking her.

Ren started to groan and rub her eyes. She saw everyone in her room, giving her a concerned look. "It's okay. I was just having a nightmare. A really bad nightmare. I guess the past can bite you in the ass. I don't think I'm quite over everything they did to me in the past. I need to go meditate before I sit with them," Ren said as she got up.

Jinora gave Ren a sympathetic look as she walked out of the room. Ren walked down to the pavilion and sat in the lotus position. She looked at the spirit portal for a moment and sighed. She looked back when she saw her parents, uncles, and aunts standing there. They all walked and sat down with her. The group began to meditate as Ren just sat there. She eventually closed her eyes, trying to calm herself before she had to help the others watch the group. Ren had meditated the whole time she was supposed to be sleeping but she still didn't feel calm. She was the last one to get to the room but she could see the other group stayed to wait for her to arrive. She looked at the prisoners and flashed back to her dream. She gasped before she fell to the ground. She picked herself up and sat next Sesi as she thought of what to do. The other group went to bed as Ren, Sesi, Asha and Haru sat in the room to watch the prisoners. She noticed how none of the prisoners had gone to sleep. She wondered if any of them had questioned why they were here. She was going to speak but Hong Li spoke before she got the chance.

"You need to throw her off. The same way she threw all of you off when she betrayed all of you. Think back to when Haru betrayed my father. Think to when I betrayed you when I gave my father the plans you had to defeat him during the war. Try to get in her head. Then when you are there do something she would never expect. Do something none of us would expect. That is the true key to defeating her. She is so different than any of us and we all wanted what we thought was right for the world. Those four wanted earthbenders and firebenders to pay for what they did to the other nations in the past. I remember Vikram as well. He wanted to make sure you were the avatar the world needed. Mt father felt you were neglecting your duties and I blindly followed him. You have to find out why she is doing what she is doing or you may never beat her," Hong Li said.

"He is right but you have to think that you are a very different avatar since beating all of us. Time and experience chances people. Use your experience with battling all of us to help take her down. You had just started with your platinumbending when you defeated Jun and I but by the time you defeat Kanan you had years of experience. I'm sure this young girl is good at what she does but remember you are the avatar," Hyun said.

"Ren, I remember when I first became president and Vikram was a threat to the world he had those gadgets. Maybe you could give those a try," Kanan said.

"Ren, do you smell that?" Sesi asked.

Ren took a deep breath and smelled smoke. "Fire. There's a fire. Guys there is a fire in the temple get everyone out!" Ren yelled as she got up and ran through the hall.

Everyone ran out of the temple except Ren, Kya, Sesi, and Sky. Ren put her hands on her head as she looked at the fire spreading through the temple. She turned her head and looked at Kaito and Siku. She watched as Sky, Kya, and Sesi tried to put the fire out. The home she had built as Avatar Aang and grew up in as Avatar Ren was going up in flames. She closed her eyes for a moment and began to think of what to do. She found herself in a flashback of the day Vikram burned City Hall to the ground. She opened her eyes and saw the four covered in soot. The four started to cough as it got harder to breathe. Ren looked back at Yue Bay before she looked at the three waterbender.

"Hold your breath!" Ren yelled.

"What?!" Kya screamed yelled back.

Ren went into the avatar state and pulled water out of Yue Bay. She soon forced all the water throughout the whole temple. The four were forced through the temple with the water. Ren soon pushed all the water out of the temple and into the courtyard. She Sky, Sesi, and Kya laid in the courtyard, coughing. Sesi wiped the water out of her face as she turned her head and sighed. Kya used her waterbending to dry herself off. Sky and Ren looked at each other before laughing. Ren quickly stopped laughing and sat up to look at the temple. She saw all the damage that had been caused by the fire. The temple. Her home. Had been destroyed by what she knew was a fire caused by Aki. She felt a hand on her shoulder and she looked up. She saw Kanan look back at the other prisoners and they smiled at her. She removed their restraints and everyone looked at her. Ren walked over to Jun and made her sit. She did the unthinkable by giving Jun her bending back. Ren also gave Hyun his bending back. Jun, Kaito, and Siku started to pull water out of the temple. Hyun began cleaning what debris he could. Hong Li knocked the unsteady walls down, quickly replacing them with new ones. Everyone but Ren soon joined in on helping clean the mess from the fire. Ren slowly felt the tears roll down her cheek. She looked down at her neck and suddenly realized she had never taken off the necklace she and her grandfather had made. She also saw Aki's necklace around her neck but she didn't care about that one. She saw that the group was so focused on cleaning that they would have never noticed if she slipped away for a moment. She walked down the stairs to the stables and jumped on one of the bison. She heard clicking before she took off and she looked up to see that Kanan had followed her. He gave her a small smile but he knew that she had to go. Ren soon took off towards the Spirit World. When she arrived she jumped down and looked for the usual group. Everyone was laughing and having a good time while Iroh poured tea for them. Ren slowly walked up to them, staring at the ground the whole time. She eventually stopped and everyone looked up at her. They all knew something was wrong by the way the she was acting. Ren looked at Aang with tears in her eyes and everyone wondered what had happened.

"Great Grandpa Aang, I'm so sorry. There was a fire. The temple has so much damage. Our home. The home that you built has been ruined. Aki ruined our home," Ren said.

Katara place a hand on Aang's shoulder before he got up. He hugged Ren as she cried. "Ren, it is only a building. It can easily be fixed. Spirits, ask your great Gran-Gran Katara how quickly I built the thing. I mean monkeyfeathers Ren, I thought you did something like the Azula situation. You could give a spirit a heart attack that way. As long as everyone is okay that is all that matters," Aang said.

"Yea, another Azula situation," Ren said laughing a bit with her hand behind her head.

"Ren, what did you do now?" Tenzin assked.

"Nothing. I mean okay... nothing major. It just won't turn into an Azula situation. I actually have a good idea and it is completely under control. I did get myself arrested in the beginning but I don't think Sky thought that one through when he had Kalli arrest me. You know being able to metalbend and all I could just bust myself out but I stayed in to not cause any more problems," Ren said.

"Ha, I'm not the only avatar to be arrested anymore. I bet is was for something stupid. Beifongs have a habit of arresting the avatar for stupid reasons," Korra said.

"Well, it depends on how you look at it and who you want to agree with after you hear what I did. Well as you all know I have faced some pretty bad guys in my life. Well, I thought I would ask Sky for a temporary release form for them. I figured that since I actually beat them before I could handle all of them. I mean I gained a lot of experience since I beat all of them. Well Sky didn't agree and he told me if I got them out he would place me under arrest so I told him he better arrest me because I was going to do what I wanted. Kuvira came and tried to tell me I was crazy and wrong but I know in my heart that I am right," Ren said.

"You idiot. How can you be so blinded by this forgiveness bullshit? Is because Suyin and the Air Nomads taught you that shit? Stop forgiving people as easily as you do because one day it may cost you your life," Toph said.

"Now we know where Toph stands on the issue. One of you already knew though because you told me to forgive Kanan. It was like the words blew through the wind. You know if they didn't think they worth any form of redemption they wouldn't have given me the advice on what to do about Aki. They wouldn't be back at the island trying to rebuild the temple and help with the clean-up. To you guys it seems no one is worth redemption or at least most people aren't anyway. I'm so embarrassed to know you guys some days. I mean seriously everyone deserves a second chance. Think about what would have happened if I wasn't given a second chance during the war. Kuvira would have had to kill me and I wouldn't be standing here. I'm ashamed of all of you," Ren said.

As she went to walk away Tenzin yelled out for her. "Ren, wait! It was me. I was the one who told you to forgive Kanan. I know we aren't supposed to leave the Spirit World all the time but I heard you yell for answers one day. I saw that you had pulled Kanan out of prison and I knew that was the answer you needed. You needed to forgive him and everything he had done or you won't trust him. You'll be lying to yourself by saying you would if you didn't forgive him. Please you need to understand that the temple can be rebuilt but these people are still dangerous. Maybe worth redemption but only time will tell," Tenzin said.

Ren looked at Tenzin for a moment and gave him a small smile. She paused for a moment and looked at the ground. She looked at the group again and she just stared at them. Tenzin called her name but she didn't answer. He continued to call her name but still she stood there. Korra walked over to Ren and began to wave her hand in front of Ren's face. Ren continued to stare forward as if Korra wasn't there.

"Way to go Tenzin. You broke her and she still has to save the world," Sokka said.

"He didn't break her you idiot. She is most likely connecting with a past life or having a flashback. Sometimes you say the dumbest things," Katara said.

Ren stood and saw her younger self with Jun and Hyun. She was unable to bend but then she saw her current self in front of Hyun and Jun. She tried to bend her way out but she couldn't move. She started to cry as she continued to try and break free. She saw the liquid moving close to her. Why was no one coming to help her? Jun and Hyun began to laugh at her. Siku and Kaito walked in the room, laughing at her as well. She flashed forward to Vikram and one of the many times he had hurt her. Vikram stood in front of Ren and threw the liquid in Ren's eyes. Ren closed her eyes, but opened them to find herself standing in the middle of the war during the final battle. Kanan stood in front of her and whispered the final words he told her before he stabbed her. Ren fell to the ground but when she looked up she saw Aki laughing. She stood up and she was in her house before Aki had destroyed it with Azula. Ren tried to defend herself but was knocked down. She saw that everyone she had battle stood above her laughing.

She gasped and collapsed into Korra's arms. She looked at the group for a moment before she pulled away from Korra. She heard Korra yell her name but she continued to run until she was at the bison. She was about to take off but Tenzin and Aang startled her by using their airbending to make a pillar to get in front of the air bison.

"I'm sorry. I just can't talk about it. I don't want to talk about it. I need to get back to the island and to my prisoners," Ren said before she took off.
