Crazy Love

Chapter #14

(Jack's pov)

" Hey Witter, have you seen...oh I see. Never mind.", I announce with a look of shock on my face. Joey is sprawled out in Pacey's arms sound asleep. Fairly certain neither of them are wearing anything under that blanket considering Joey's clothes are tossed on the floor. Just going to take a wild guess and say the two of them managed to work out their differences. Did not see this coming one bit. Pacey sure has a way with words it seems. When we left last night Joey made it clear she wanted nothing to do with him. That does not seem to be the case now.

" Shhh, she's still asleep Jack.", warns Pacey in a low voice. Shaking my head at the two of them, I can't help smiling. Somehow I always knew it was only a matter of time before those to talked out their differences. Not sure if there was a lot of talking last night but they seem to be getting along better then they were. What does this mean though? Are they going to work on their problems or was this only a one time hook up? By the look in Pacey's eyes, I know he doesn't want it to be the lather. If Joey is willing to let Pacey back into her life, he had better not mess things up this time or I will pound him to a pulp.

" Just going to take a wild guess and say the two of you are on speaking terms again?", I ask with an arched eyebrow. Watching Joey stir in her sleep and yawn, I smile at the mortified look on her face when she opens her eyes. Oh man, this is priceless. Bet she wasn't anticipating having to explain herself to me or anyone else for that matter. Laughing when Joey quickly pulls on an old shirt of Pacey's, I sit on the edge of the bed. Some things will never change. Glad to see these two are hopefully making an effort to get back together. This has been a long time coming. Really cannot wait to tell Jen, she will be ecstatic.

" ...Morning Jack.", offers Joey in a shy manner before blushing. She has no reason to be embarrassed. Not like I did not see this coming from a mile away. How could I not? Pacey was miserable the entire time we were out last night. Seeing Joey really messed with his head. All it managed to do was bring back a lot of old and hurtful memories. There is not a doubt in my mind it didn't do the same to Potter. Why else would they fall back into one anothers arms so easily? Before we left Joey had made it more then clear she wanted nothing to do with Pacey. Obviously something had to have happened to change that. My only question is what?

Turning my back for the both of them to dress, I do my best to hide the amusement in my voice," Got to say, I did not see that coming."

Combing out her hair, Joey bites at her bottom lip," Look Jack, last night was...unexpected. Neither of us know what it meant. Nothing has really been discussed."

" We both want the same thing out of this...right Jo?", questions Pacey with doubt in his voice. The pain of rejection is written all over his face. Watching Joey take hold of Pacey's hand, I let out a breath of relief when she wraps herself in his arms. This seems to calm Pacey's insecurities greatly. Whatever happened last night wasn't a mistake it seems. Joey clearly wants to be with Pacey just as much as he does her. Glad to see they are on the way to sorting things out between them once and for all. It has only been three years coming. Anyone with eyes can see Jo and Pace are supposed to be together.

" Of course Pace, you should know that I want us to work this time. Do you honestly think I would have slept with you otherwise?", reasons Joey before leaning up to peck Pacey on his cheek. This seems to comfort Pacey a great deal as he hugs Joey against him. It is great to see them getting along again finally. There was a time when Joey would go out of her way to avoid Pacey at all costs. With hopes those days are over now. By the look on Pacey's face he seems happy with Joey's answer. It is great to see them finally making an effort to get along again. Not sure about the both of them but I am hungry. Wonder if those two would be up for coming out to breakfast with Ben and I?

" Look, Ben and I were going to grab a bite at the diner. You two want to come?", I ask with an arched eyebrow. Judging by the sound of Joey's stomach growling I think it is safe to say the answer to that question is bound to be a resounding yes. Potter might want to wear more then just Pacey's shirt though. Guess Witter has Ben to thank for their little reunion. If he hadn't invited her over, these two would not be on the verge of settling their differences. While I doubt Ben will be all too thrilled, this is something he is just going to have to deal with. No offense to the guy but there is no way Joey would ever choose him over Pacey. She's not one to come between friends.

" I don't know about Potter but I am starving, she wore me out last night.", informs Pacey with a grin. Laughing when Joey slaps his arm, I can't help rolling my eyes. Leave it to Witter to make things awkward. Judging by the bite marks on Pacey's collarbone I would say he was not kidding. Who knew Joey could be such a vixen? Glad to see things are starting to slowly go back to normal between those two. It is nice to see an actual smile on Pacey's face. He has not been happy in a while, he pretends that he is but I am not an idiot.

Cringing at the mental images, I follow the two out of Pacey's room," Not something I needed to know Witter, thanks for the unwanted visual."

Combing her tangled hair out, Joey ties it in a loose ponytail," What Pacey failed to mention is that won't be happening again for a while Jack."

" Oh, ouch. That is cold Jo.", I comment with an amused chuckle. The look on Pacey's face is priceless. While I feel for the guy, maybe this is a good thing. He needs to show that he's worth trusting again. Pacey can't just expect Joey to forget the hell he put her through three years ago. If he wants Potter back, he is going to have to prove that he is worth a second glance. Did he really think that it was going too be that easy? Jo would sleep with him and just let Pacey back into her life no questions asked? Who is he kidding right now?

" Very cold indeed, but understandable. Jo, I am going to do whatever I have to do.", acknowledges Pacey while taking hold of her hand. Leaning back into Pacey's arms, Joey glances up at him happily. These two look amazing together. It is obvious they missed each other. You can see it in their eyes. I really hope things work out for the best between the two of them. They both deserve to be happy. I have no doubt that Pacey will do whatever he needs to do to regain Joey's trust once more. If he screws up though? He will have to answer to me.

" I know that you will Pace. Just know if you mess up, they won't find your body.", warns Joey before placing an innocent peck on Pacey's cheek. Laughing to myself, I merely shake my head. Leave it to Joey to threaten bodily harm to get a point across. Something tells me she would not hesitate to kick the crap out of Pacey if need necessary. Then again Pacey might do something just to get on her bad side because of this. The guy is sick, he used to live for bickering and picking fights with Potter. He knew exactly how to press her buttons and loved doing just that.

" There's my sweet girl.", teases Pacey with a smirk while hugging Joey's waist. These two are amusing to say the least. They have been arguing since the first day I met them. It is entertaining to say the least. Even before either of them realized they were into one another, you could tell there was some major sexual tension between the two of them. Then the day when they both confided in Jen and Dawson to sleeping with one another, well our suspicions were definitely confirmed. These last three years apart sure have taken their toll on the two of them. …
