Naruto, Kushina and Mikoto were all heading towards Sasuke. They had been walking for about 15mins now. Naruto could tell they were really close right now.
"We should be crossing paths with him soon." He told his mistresses.
Mikoto replied. "Alright I can't wait to see my baby boy has grown over the last couple years."
"Knowing him I'm sure he has turn into quite the pretty boy." Naruto said with a bit of irritation in his voice.
"Oh? Are you jealous that he may be better looking than you Naru?" Kushina asked.
"Ehh Sasuke was always a pretty boy so girls usually would flock all over him. Plus being an Uchiha only made them even crazier about him." He said.
"Well think about it like this Sochi. Me and Mikoto both think you're the sexiest man in the world. Right Miko-chan?" Shina asked.
"Oh yeah and it's not even close. You're lightyears ahead of every other male I've come across. It's only a couple guys I can think of who I found absolutely sexy. One being Minato since he was always so bright and strong. The other is Kakashi when he doesn't have his mask on. That man is fucking beautiful I tell you." Mikoto responded.
"Wait you've seen Kakashi-sensei without his mask?!" Naruto asked.
"Yup I completely understand why he keeps it on as much as possible now. He would never be left alone by fan girls around villages." Mikoto said.
"Have you seen him too without his mask Shina?" The blond asked.
"Yeah just once tho and I agree with Mikoto I can see why he always keeps it on. It would be a drag to always have to deal with star struck females all day." Shina responded.
The walk continued for a few more minutes until Naruto finally stopped.
Mikoto and Kushina also stopped and wondered why did Naruto stop out of nowhere. But then felt someone was close by.
Naruto chuckled, "Come on Sasuke, you know that I know you're there."
The uchiha prodigy jumped down from the trees and landed in front of the blond himself.
"It's been awhile you loser. I thought you would've be off training somewhere proclaiming to the world that you're going to be hokage." Sasuke said with a slight smirk.
"Yeah nice to see you too teme. And I have been training actually. I'm a force to be reckoned with now." Naruto told him.
"Hm I wouldn't doubt it." Sasuke replied as he looked over to see his mother and his mother behind Naruto.
Mikoto just couldn't help but to stare at Sasuke. 'He's grown so much.' She said inside her thoughts. It was true though. Sasuke was now about Naruto's height. His hair was longer than before. He also looked like a traveler. He wore a high collar black shirt with a midriff type of flak jacket. Also with light blue pants but you can barely tell with the brown poncho he's wearing. His ankles are wrapped up with bandages and he seems to be wearing a blue sash around his head. He looks completely different from the last time Mikoto had seen him.
Kushina examined her god son. She came to the conclusion that the style actually fits him. Sasuke was always a loner type of person anyway so this is just perfect for him.
Mikoto finally spoke up after the shock passed by. She couldn't help but smile. "How have you been Sasuke?" She asked.
Sasuke walked up to her and did something completely out of his character and gave his mother a hug. This took everybody for a shock. Naruto had fallen down on to the ground and Kushina had her hand over her mouth. Mikoto was caught off guard by the sudden affection by her son but quickly returned the hug.
"I've been pretty good okaasan. What about you?" Sasuke said.
"Much much better now that I got to finally see you after all this time." Mikoto couldn't help but cry.
Sasuke held his mother a bit tighter. He had to admit to himself that he did miss her after some time of being away from the village. He often worried about her because of his father. Sasuke had seen the way his father treated his mother. Both him and Itachi hated it but couldn't really do much due to the respect they had for their father. Over time enough was enough and he just had to get away from it all. A small ting of regret always hallowed over him due to the fact that he didn't bring her along with him.
He had figured that it would be safer for her to stay in the village rather than constant traveling since she was the princess of the uchiha. He had no doubts in his mother strength but he just wanted to play it safe as possible. It was a relief to know that she was alright.
Sasuke released his mother from the hug and asked. "Okaasan where's father?"
It was a dead silence for a few moments. But she finally looked up and told him the truth.
"He's dead Sasuke. Naruto killed him because due to the horrible things he put me, you and Itachi through. He even insulted me and Kushina right in front of Naruto. Not to mention insulting Naruto himself. I'm sorry but I just can't help but to be glad of the fact that I never have to worry about seeing him again." She told him.
The raven haired boy looked over to his blond companion. He wasn't mad about him killing his father. As matter of fact, he was glad that he did it so that he himself wouldn't have to.
"Oh?" Sasuke said with an intrigued tone. "So you've gotten pretty strong huh Naruto?"
"Well it's not like I've been training half-assed. But yeah like I said I'm a force to be reckoned with." Naruto stayed.
"Also Sasuke there's another thing I wanna tell you.." Mikoto said.
She didn't know how Sasuke was going to take this. His best friend being engaged to his mother. That type of news isn't what you would expect after returning home after a couple years. So things could get violent.
"What is it?" He said in his normal stoic voice.
"I'm engaged to Naruto and Kushina..." She told him.
Again, there was silence for a few moments. Mikoto was just hoping this wouldn't turn ugly. Kushina was waiting to see how her god son would react. Naruto had his eyes closed waiting to be punched.
Sasuke turned around and walked towards Naruto. He didn't say a word as he made a fist and gave Naruto a good punch to the face. He sent the blond flying into a tree.
Kushina looked in worry as she rushed over to Naruto's side. Mikoto just stood there waiting to here Sasuke scold her about her actions.
But to her surprise, his response was something she wasn't expecting.
"Take care of her dobe." Sasuke said.
Naruto was sitting up and shook his head a bit. "Of course teme, do I look like a scumbag who would hurt her?" He asked.
"No I have no doubt you won't but I just have to say it cause it is my mom you know." Sasuke said.
"Believe me it's completely understandable." The blond agreed.
"And you're ok with this Kushina-san? Isn't it weird being with both of them?" Sasuke asked. Usually Sasuke wasn't the one to judge anybody but this was his mother he was talking about so he had to make sure everything was ok for her benefits.
Kushina smiled and replied. "Of course dattebane. I love both my best friend and son very much. They make me the happiest girl ever.
Sasuke looked satisfied with her answer. He turned to his mother and gave her a slight smile. "If you're happy then I have no qualms with it. Who am I to stop you from being happy."
Mikoto couldn't stop her tears. Who was he? Could this really be the same little Sasuke from just a couple years ago. He seemed so understanding and mature now. It made her proud knowing that after everything that happened. Sasuke didn't go down the wrong path in life. She just couldn't control her tears so she lunged at her son and kept crying in his chest.
"S-Sasuke! I'm so happy to see you again. My baby is all grown up and I couldn't be there to witness his growth as a man." She said while sobbing.
Sasuke had his normal stoic face but wrapped his arm around his mother. "Try not to be too upset. I promise I'll be able to visit you more often since I'm able to teleport with my rinnegan."
Both Kushina and Naruto both shouted. "You have the fucking rinnegan?!"
Sasuke nodded, "It's a long story that I'll explain some other time but just know that I have that and the eternal mangekyo sharingan."
Kushina whistled. "Damn Sasuke, I sure as hell wouldn't want to face you as an enemy. Because that's a deadly combination of doujutsu you have."
Sasuke nodded. "I don't have full mastery of the rinnegan yet but I'm not too far from it. I can say I mastered 85% of it."
Mikoto released the hug and looked up at her son. "Sasuke what brought you back here? It had to be important if you were willing to come back here again."
"Well my main reason was to come see you to see how you were doing. The other was that I heard a certain group of shinobi has been in the land of fire recently. They've been causing trouble in other countries so I decided to see how much damage did they cause already." Sasuke explained.
"This group wouldn't happen to be called the foundation would they?" Naruto asked.
"I take it you have heard of them?"
"Better I met one of them. She poisoned me cause I careless." The blond said.
"Not surprised I heard they are pretty formidable. But I doubt you were barely using half of your power." Sasuke said.
"If I was focused. The fight would've been a different story but it is what it is I lost. It happens every now and then."
"So did they do anything in the land of fire yet?" Mikoto asked.
"As far as I know, no but they've been trying to gather members here slowly. So I doubt they're thinking about attacking any time soon. Apparently their goal is to gather as much chakra as they can so that they can rule over the 5 great noble villages." Sasuke told them.
"Hmm that lady said something similar to me. Like how my chakra was going to help them with that. I laughed it off at first but I was lucky that she gave up the chase." Naruto said.
"You really caught a break there Naru-chan. Be more careful please. We don't want anything serious to happen to you all because you let your guard down." Kushina told him.
"Ok Kaa-san. I will make sure that I do that. So Sasuke now that you're here. What are you gonna do next?" The blond asked.
"I'm going to stick around the land of fire for a bit just to check out everything. These guys really do know how to cause a havoc. So it wouldn't be smart to leave without taking precaution." The raven haired boy responded.
Naruto nodded, "Need any help?"
Sasuke shook his head. "Knowing you, you'll find some way to make things more difficult than they need to be. And it's easier for me to just do it alone. Although I would like to spend some time with my mother before I go."
Mikoto looked happy that he wanted to spend time with her. "Alright Sasuke where would you like to go?"
"We could get something to eat then you could come with me to the Uchiha District. Besides there's something I need to talk to you about. It involves you dobe but I'm sure okaasan will tell you everything later." He said.
Naruto was a bit confused. "It involves me? Then why aren't you telling me about it right now?" The blond questioned.
"Because I need to talk to my mom about it first before anything. Just trust me on this dobe. If everything goes well then I'm sure you'll end up being happy. Besides it'll be better to here it from her than me." Sasuke explained.
"Go on Mikoto, me and Naruto will be back at home waiting for you. It'll be great for you two to catch up. Just make sure you keep a low profile since I'm sure people are still wondering about Fugaku's death. He was a clan head at the end of the day." Kushina said to her.
Naruto agreed by nodding.
"Alright I'll see you two later then." Mikoto said with a smile. Sasuke grabbed her shoulder and teleported them a second later.
"Ok what do you wanna do Naru-chan? I doubt she's going to be back any time soon."
Naruto thought about this. He wondered how should he spend the day with his red headed lover. "Well we could start my training or we could go on a date and do other fun things."
This caught Kushina's interest big time. "Ooh well what did you have in mind sweet boy." She said in an angelic voice.
"Well there is one of my favorite spots that I've always wanted to take you since I was a kid. We could have either get a carry out of ramen or barbecue and have a picnic there." He suggested.
"Sounds perfect to me. Hehe we could get both." Kushina said with stars popping out of her eyes like a kid who dying for some candy.
Naruto found her face adorable and couldn't help but laugh. "You're so cute Shina-chan. Come on luckily the village is just straight ahead from here."
"And how do you know that?" She wondered.
"I can detect ichiraku's if I'm close enough to the village." He said with a grin.
The red head giggled. "And you say I'm the adorable one."
The two made their way to the village. To Kushina surprise, Naruto was actually right the village was actually not that far. They went through the main entrance with no problems at all. Naruto wondered if he would run in to Sakura sooner or later. It has been awhile since he's last seen his teammate and he couldn't help but wonder about her well being. Naruto and Sakura were pretty much good friends now. He made a mental note to check up on her within a day or so if he doesn't run into her.
The couple passed by an flower shop. Naruto got a good idea. "Shina stay right here I'll be back in 5mins. He told her.
"Uh ok" She said.
The blond went inside the shop and took a look around. There were some real nice looking flowers in here. But the boy wanted to get something that stands out. He didn't wanna get roses because that would seem cliche. Plus he knew Kushina loves flowers so roses to her probably wouldn't be that all shocking.
The florist care over and made an suggestion. "Young man if I were you I would get those dahlias. They're very vibrant and just finished blooming yesterday." The nice old lady told him.
Naruto thought it over. 'They are very vibrant. Also they would be a good choice since Kaa-san herself is vibrant. They would definitely be a good match.' His mind was set.
"Ok mame, I'll take those then." He pointed to the dahlias.
"You're a smart young man. I'm sure the little lady friend you're buying these for will be so happy." The florist said as she was taking the flowers to the register.
"I sure hope so." He said.
Naruto finished paying for the flowers. "Thanks granny." He said with a grin. He realized that he took a bit longer than 5mins but he was sure that Kushina wouldn't mind.
Once he walked out the store. He instantly sees Kushina waiting for him in the same spot. The blond walked over to her. To be honest he was nervous as hell. He's brought flowers home to her before and she's always loved them. This time was different however. They were actually engaged so it was more pressure on him this time around.
"Sorry I took so long Shina." Naruto said.
Kushina turned around and smiled. "No problem it wasn't that long of a wait." She noticed that he had a bouquet of flowers in his hand.
Naruto was blushing. He just couldn't help himself. His heart was racing. No matter how many times he told himself to calm down in his head. It just wasn't working. With a deep breath, he decided to just blurt it out. "H-Here S-Shina-chan I got these for you. They're called..." He stammered.
"Dahlias" she said with a surprising tone.
"I wanted to get you some flowers since this is a date. And I haven't gotten you any flowers in a while." Naruto told her as he handed them to her.
Kushina grabbed them and smelled them. "They smell fresh. They are also so vibrant." She said.
"Yeah just like you." Naruto said with a blush still spreader across his face. But he couldn't stop himself from smiling.
"Aw Naru-chan..these are so beautiful. You really didn't have to get these for me. I would've been fine with some roses." Kushina told him with a blush of her own across her face.
"Well I didn't wanna be cliche plus they reminded me of you so I figured why not since I thought they would be the perfect match for you." He explained.
Kushina walked up with her eyes covered by a shadow. Naruto was a bit confused until he lips were crushed by Kushina's in a hard kiss. She had a hand cuffing his face. The blond heart was racing but he kissed her back with no hesitation. Kushina ended the kiss early since she didn't wanna risk someone who knew them personally seeing them kiss. It would cause a huge and unnecessary scene.
She still had her eyes shadowed while a crimson blush spreader across her face. Shina took her index finger and pushed it into Naruto's chest. "Baka..." She said in a low tone.
Naruto just kept staring at her. "You're the sweetest boy on earth I tell you." Kushina told him. "Thank you for the flower Naru-chan."
"Anything for you my love. Now what would you like to do?" Naruto asked.
"Well we could go grocery shopping. We need to stock up on more food since Mikoto is living with us now. Not that she'll eat everything but it's just so we will always have enough. There's a couple other places we could stop by too." The red head said.
"Alright lead the way Kushi-chan." Naruto voiced. The two made their ways to the store.
Time had passed and Mikoto and Sasuke we walking through the Uchiha district. They had eaten earlier and was now making their way back to their former home. Mikoto had been wondering what was it that Sasuke wanted to talk about that involved Naruto. As a matter of fact how did he get the eternal mangekyo sharingan? She figured it was no use stressing over it since she was about to get her answers anyways.
The two arrived at their former home and walked inside. After sitting down at the table. Mikoto decided to speak. "So Sasuke I have a few questions I want you to answer."
"I'll answer anything you asked me kaasan. But be warned when I tell you some things may just be a lot to take in at once." Sasuke replied.
"Don't worry Sasuke, I'm a kunoichi after all I'll be able to handle it." She said.
Sasuke raises his eyebrow a bit. "You've been reinstated?"
Mikoto nodded. "Yeah apparently me, Kushina and Naruto have been formed into a special team that carries out dangerous missions."
Sasuke nodded. "Ok so what is it that you want to ask?"
"How do you have the eternal mangekyo sharingan? I mean so far the only one who is alive to actually attain it was me but that was only because I was giving my fathers eyes back in my teen years. You're father was always a bit envious of me in that regard." She asked.
Sasuke sighed, he knew this wasn't going to be easy to tell her. "Kaasan I'm sorry to tell you this but Itachi died almost a year ago..."
It was silent. Mikoto felt her heart drop. "I-I-Itachi...my baby boy...how did he die?" She voiced weakly.
"We had ran into each other and started traveling together for a bit. He had competed his long term mission sooner than he expected. So once he ran into me he decided to put off reporting back to the hokage for awhile. We haven't seen each other in a long time so he wanted to spend some time together. After a few weeks, we ran into a couple of strong enemies. They weren't me and Itachi couldn't handle so we were pretty much dominating the fight. However as you know, anything can happen in our line of work. One of the shinobi we were fighting had some special last resort jutsu. He charged towards me while my back was turned. I could've evaded him but an enemy clone hand came from underground to grab my legs to hold me in position. It wasn't enough to hold me down for long but it did buy him a couple seconds for the one attacking me. Itachi had came and intercepted the blow. He died in order to protect me." Sasuke told her.
Mikoto tried her best not to cry. But it was so hard not to because her maternal instincts were going crazy. She was able to keep it together saying that there will be time to mourn afterwards. So she just kept staring at her youngest child. "I...I see...it's so heartbreaking to hear this but at least Itachi gave his life protecting you." She voiced sadly.
Sasuke could see the despair in her eyes. He hated that he had to break this news to his mother. He wished he could've came to tell her sooner but things didn't work out like that. "I'm terribly sorry mom I wish it didn't happened. I honestly felt I could've still gotten away from the attack but..." Sasuke explained.
"I know Sasuke, I know...so I take it that's how you got you're eternal sharingan." She spoke out.
"Yes...Itachi's dying words to me was for me to take his eyes and to live on. He said to tell you that he loved you and to not go through life in sadness." He said.
Mikoto slightly nodded. Sasuke sighed because this wasn't the end of the bad news he had to tell her.
"Kaasan...there's something else you should know and it's...it's not good news either..." Sasuke voiced lowly.
The Uchiha princess didn't know how much more bad news she can honestly take. She tried her best to steel herself for the news that would come next.
"I'm...dying"
