Letters to My Brown Eyed Beauty
Chapter Eight
Albus looks over to the bed beside his and notices Scorpius' curtains are closed and its obvious that boy is still sleeping. He was supposed to wake Albus up this morning and he didn't. Albus checks the alarm clock next to his and the time reads: 7:21. He smiles a little, realising that Scorpius is still tired.
'I kept him up last night, my bad. But what if I go and wake him up?'
Albus pulls his curtains open and there Scorpius is, laying on his stomach and half of his face is covered by his pillow. His arms are tangled in his sheets and there was a stray tear coming from his left eye, rolling down his cheek. There was sweat building from his forehead. Suddenly, his body jerks to one day and then to the next. Albus flinched, "Scorpius?"
Scorpius' body jerked back and forth while he shook his head repeatedly.
He was having a nightmare.
Scorpius never had them, to Albus' memory.
Scorpius shakes violently as his mutterings become audible.
"Amelia…"
Albus blinks at him, 'Should I wake him up?'
Albus retreats in case he's not having a nightmare at all and rather a better kind of dream. As he's baking away, he trips over another trunk, the same one.
'Stupid Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy! Leaving his bloody stuff on the ground!'
Albus groans grumpily, thinking his best mate is a complete idiot and should tidy up after himself.
Thump.
"Scor?"
Albus looks over and Scorpius is lying on the ground, face down.
"Scorpius," he whispers, unsure how he fell from the bed.
Scorpius blinks a little, "Al?" He moves his head up to stare at Albus, blinking rapily.
"Yeah," the other boy asks, hesitantly. There isn't a reply back.
"Scorpius!"
Snore.
"Scorpius Malfoy!"
"You'll never get him up."
Albus froze instantly.
"What are you doing to him, Potter?"
Tate Westfall stands there, shirtless, staring at him curiously.
"Nothing," Albus quickly responds, standing up.
Tate chuckles, "Would you like some help with that, Potter?"
Albus doesn't respond. Tate sighs and runs a hand through his auburn hair and blinks his light, blue eyes at Albus.
He walks over to the two boys then aims his wand at Scorpius, "Aguamenti," and water shoots from his wand, drenching the blonde boy.
Scorpius shoots up instantly, shivering. Tate and Albus begin laughing. Scorpius looks around the room, blinking owlishly, until it dawns on him where he is. He rubs his arms, trying to warm himself up, before looking up at his two roommate and begins glaring.
"All right there, Aqua Boy?" Tate asks. Scorpius glares harder and Albus shakes his head amused.
"Get dressed," Tate adds, throwing Scorpius' uniform at him. Scorpius grumbles to himself and disappears to get dressed.
"We'll meet you in the Great Hall, Malfoy!"
Albus and Tate walk to the Common Room and are greeted by Mycale on the couch who's reading over an essay for Transfigurations. He smiles over at the boys before joining them. "Where's Malfoy?"
Mycale falls in step with Tate, hands in his pockets. Mycale was Tate's voice of reason and always knew how to calm him down.
"He's just getting ready, he'll meet us for breakfast," Albus answers. "You should have seen his face when we used aguamenti on him!" Tate howled which made Mycale chuckle. The two boys often pulled pranks together.
"'otter!"
Albus turns around and notices platinum blonde hair and a little sadly notes that they're paired with brown eyes instead of grey. He smiles nevertheless and Amelia beams back at him.
"Zo, 'ow waz your nigh'?"
Albus shrugs, "Same old, same old. You?"
A weird feeling begins erupting in Albus' stomach, making him think he was rather hungry and was ready to eat. He didn't want to wait for Scorpius anymore. "It waz 'ine," Amelia answers with a small smile as she takes a seat beside him. They begin pilling food onto their plates. They had idle chat while waiting for Scorpius to join them. Amelia shared stories about France and what going to school over there was like. Albus chimed in with some Weasley family stories to keep the conversation from ending.
Mycale and Tate soon joined them adjacently on the table, piling food onto their plates and enjoying their own conversation.
"Amelia, come sit with us!"
Amelia rolled her eyes, ignoring them.
"So where is Zcorpius?"
Albus' heart sank a little at the question, almost forgetting all about his best friend.
"He was just getting ready while Tate and I left our dormitory."
Amelia nodded in response, taking a bite of her toast.
The doors to the Great Hall open and Tate shouts out, "Scorpius, mate! Over here! The hot new girl is sitting with us!"
Scorpius grumbled something and took a seat next to Amelia. He slumped in his chair, glaring daggers at the table.
"Don't tell me you're in a bad mood, Malfoy," Tate asked.
Scorpius didn't even respond.
"Scorpius, man, they were only kidding around," Mycale chimed in, his green eyes showing confusion. Scorpius ignored him as well.
Albus sighed, "We didn't mean any harm, Scor. You know that, surely."
He was also ignored which made his heart sink more. His own best friend was ignoring him, once more.
Amelia rolled her eyes, "Zcorpius 'yperion Malfoy," she spat, "Don't ignore your vriends, they're only trying to apologise. No' be nice and apologise back."
Scorpius looked up and his eyes softened, "Sorry guys, I'm just a little distracted this morning. I am cold too though."
"Sorry," all the boys replied.
The morning events were forgotten from then on.
Suddenly a letter fell in Amelia's lap and she spat out her pumpkin juice. Amelia's eyes lit up at the site of it, and Albus stored the image away for another day. A wide smiled spread across her lips as she read. She chuckled at something, but he hardly noticed.
'Don't you think she looks gorgeous like that?'
Her purple hair fell almost effortless around her face and her smile was genuine.
Albus found himself feeling things he knew he shouldn't.
