Letters to My Brown Eyed Beauty
Chapter Nine
The Great Hall doors opened and Harry Potter himself stepped through. Albus groaned instantly almost in sync with his two siblings. They all forgot that their father teaches a class for a week every year. He comes in as a favour to McGonagall. Harry smiles over at each of his kids while they're cowering and pretending he's nowhere in sight.
'What an embarrassment.'
Harry begins walking down the aisle towards McGonagall.
The Great Hall was filled with loud chats about how the Boy Who Lived was here once more at Hogwarts.
"Everyone quieten down," McGonagall began, and everyone fell silent, "Today and until the end of the week, Mr Potter will be teaching a special class for Defence Against the Dark Arts."
"Iz tha' your dad Albuz?"
Albus groaned once more and begrudgingly nodded.
"Iz he the 'amous man who killed the Dark Lord?"
The entire Slytherin Table froze and Scorpius began sinking into his chair. Everybody turned their attention to Amelia.
"Er," Scorpius mutters, looking as if he's been caught red-handed.
"Vhat do 'ou guys call him?"
"Nobody," Trayton growled. "None of your business. France wasn't even a part of the Battle."
Albus shrugged, "Voldemort."
Bryson Goyle swallowed, "You can't say that kind of stuff, Potter."
Tray grinned, winking at Albus, "Yes we can Goyle, we've earned it. Harry Potter made sure we'd never have to live in fear again."
Scorpius paled and sunk further into his chair.
"Well obviously," Amelia rolled her eyes, "I won't be calling him the name he chose for himself, will I?"
"Not to mention, it causes Scorpius some issues," she added in a mumble.
Scorpius sunk even further, pretending he didn't exist at all.
He hated that everybody was staring at him.
Scorpius slowly looked at Amelia, and she frowned. "I am sorry, I forgot about da-" She broke off coughing, trying to fix whatever she meant by 'da'. "Um I heard it waz the...ya'know, Englizh verzion of seigneur des Ténèbres."
Scorpius shakes his head, "It is," he mumbled.
Amelia smiled, "Everybody zhould be relieved, Mr Potter zaved uz all."
Albus was confused, he never knew Scorpius could understand French.
"Shame I still have to be reminded of it every day," Scorpius mumbled, frowning.
"The more we stress though," he added, "the less the plan works."
"Your dad iz too ztubborn."
"A pain," Scorpius chuckled, "But also easily persuaded." He had a curious glint in his eyes, like he was up to no good.
Scorpius and Amelia chuckle, after sharing a look.
Scorpius then changed the subject, "What do you have now?"
"I only have a couple classes today and Defence Against the Dark Arts later, you?"
"I only have Transfigurations. I'll see you later."
Albus and Scorpius were seated in their usual seats at the back of the class. Albus was taking notes as McGonagall was putting things up on the board.
"Ps."
Albus looks over at Scorpius, raising an eyebrow.
"What did you say your father is teaching the Fifth Years," he whispered. Albus remembers their fifth year and what his dad taught them. "The Patronus Charm remember?" Albus answered him. Scorpius nodded back, uneasily. He looked worried about something.
"Remember our Patronuses," Albus asked in a quiet voice. "Yours was a Dragon, do you remember that? It took you a while to conjure it but when you did, it was good."
Scorpius nodded, "And yours was a phoenix. I remember, Al."
McGonagall was talking about the OWLs this year, but the boys were hardly paying attention.
As soon as the bell rang, the boys were out of that classroom in a heartbeat.
"What's the serious look about Fifth Years for?"
Scorpius frowned, "Amelia has never done a Patronus before," he breathed out in a worried manner.
Albus gave his best mate a quizzical look but chose to let it go.
There was shouting coming the Black Lake and Albus and Scorpius followed the commotion.
"Merlin, I love a good cat fight," Trayton said, grinning.
Albus laughs along with the boys before he catches sight of unmistakable Weasley-red hair. His stomach flips. 'What is going on?'
"What a bitch," a voice snarls and the other replies with 'whore'. The second girl's heart shaped face was hidden behind untameable red hair. "Stay away or you'll regret it," she spat. "Or what," the purple haired girl replied, smirking. "What are you going to do, Weasley?"
"Stay away or you will pay, Scarlett."
"I'll what, Weasley? Oh, you're so dead!"
Amelia lunged on Rose and they began pulling at each other's hair.
Albus groaned, 'What the heck is my cousin doing?'
Everybody stared for a while, unsure what to do.
The girls were growling at each other like a pack of wolves.
Rose got up and pulled out her wand, probably ready to hex Amelia. Before she got the chance, Scorpius shouted, "Expallirmus."
A look of disbelief was shot at him. "I've known you since I was eleven and you're best friends with my cousin. You've known her a month or so and you choose her over us?" Rose spat at him, her face going red with anger.
Scorpius glared back, "Stop fighting. Why would you ever hex a person when their back is turned? That's not very Weasley-like."
"I was just trying to make friends," Amelia rolled her eyes. "Why with Rose?" Scorpius asked. "Because she looked important to you," she mumbled back. "I am," Rose growled.
"She'll never be as important as you are to me, Amy. You know that, right?" Scorpius asked, coming up to her, pulling her purple hair out of her eyes. Rose's face fell and tears formed in her eyes but she shook them away.
"She started it, though."
"Why?"
"Because she's a little slut."
"Rose!"
Scorpius glanced at Rose, shaking his head disappointedly and she looked away. Amelia shook her head, "Forget about it. Forgiven. I don't want Mr Weasley showing up here because some girl called his precious girl a bitch." Amelia snarled, and Scorpius rolled his eyes.
"Come on, who do you trust me or her?"
Scorpius was looking between them for quite some time. Rose was standing with her arms crossed and a look that challenged him. It told him 'if you dare to choose her you are dead to me'. Amelia was staring at him disbelievingly. They both expected him to pick them. He sighed, "It doesn't matter. I trust the both of you, but only one of you can be telling the truth and I'm tired."
We turned to see a short, redheaded freckled boy with a sad and ashamed look on his face. It was Rose's brother, Hugo. He was frowning at his sister, "You know not to pick fights. We have to be more like mum than dad, so these things don't happen."
Hugo was standing directly in front of Rose, shorter but managed to look like he was older than he really was. Their glares matched each other, Rose stood with her hands on her hips. Amelia had managed to step back as the siblings glared at one another, looking like they aren't getting out of this one easy.
"What's going on here?"
Most people fled from the scene as they heard the voice. The only people left were the Potter-Weasley clan, Scorpius and Amelia.
Lily stood across from Amelia and James stood behind her. They all looked confused. Dominique stood beside Rose, distance between them. Louis stood beside Hugo, his best friend and partner in crime. Molly and Lucy stood on the side, having no clue what was even going on.
Scorpius had a look of pure hatred on his face and it was directed at one person: Rose Weasley.
Albus' head began to spin when it felt more like a family reunion than anything else. He knew that they'd always have each other's backs.
Fred turned to James, whispering, "That's your dad and we are all dead."
Albus swallowed and turned around with his cousins and there stood Harry Potter.
"Why is it always you guys," Harry shook his head. Everybody shuffled, not wanting to talk first.
"How are all of you involved," he asked, staring at each and every one of his family members. Scorpius locked eyes with Albus for a moment, his eyes clear; 'Get me out of here.'
"Sorry Uncle," Hugo pipes up, "It won't happen again."
They all decided to walk off, one by one.
"What won't happen again?"
James and Fred shook their heads and disappeared. Christopher Wood wasn't far behind them, winking a goodbye to Molly. Albus trolled his eyes and James glared. Markus Leads followed them away as well and closely behind was their other friend, Eugene Finnigan.
Nobody moved for a moment once more.
Roxanne, Dominique and Molly decided to go as well.
Rose begins glaring at them, probably thinking what traitors.
"I wouldn't have let James leave so quickly if I wasn't almost positive it had nothing to do with him and more to do with you three – four?" Harry looked surprised when he saw Amelia standing there awkwardly. She gave a mini wave.
"'ello Mr. Potter."
Scorpius sniggered as he watched Amelia's tiny fangirl moment. Scorpius shrugged, "She's a big fan, Mr Potter." He pointed at her and laughed a little. Rose scowled.
"Are you the new exchange student?"
She nodded, "Amelia…Scarlett. 'ice to meet you." She wheezed. Harry's eyes were the size of a galleon. "I'm named after my mother," she added. Harry smiled, "She was wonderful. So what happened here? Any takers?"
"Nothing, Sir. Just a disagreement," Amelia supplied.
Rose snuck off and the other three were glaring at her back.
My dad looks at Amelia, "Oh well, it's nice to meet you though."
"You too, Sir."
"What a tiring class."
Amelia slumped on the couch beside Scorpius, her legs up on his legs. He chuckled in response, "How was your first Patronus class, Amy?"
She then smiled a small smile as a hello to Albus who then put his book down.
"Did you manage to successfully conjure one on your first class?"
Amelia looked at Scorpius and beamed.
'She probably has something wacky but cool.'
"Well spit it out," Scorpius said, nudging her. She pulled out her wand, closing her eyes.
Scorpius had told Albus the year before that the memory he had used had been of his family, happy and enjoying a picnic. Albus thought that was nice. His one was, weirdly, Scorpius. He got him better than anyone else.
"Expecto Patronum!"
A silver light appeared at the tip of her wand and then a graceful fox leaped out and began to run around. The boys were gobsmacked. She got it on the first day. She surprised Harry Potter as well.
'It's almost as beautiful as her.'
