Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter, or anything else you recognise. I only own the plot and my OCs.

Author's Note: This has and will always be my favourite chapter. It's easier to write in Scorpius' POV, I reckon. He's just a versatile character. He may even be one of my favourites. Enjoy! Don't forget to review, I love hearing what you all think! – El x

Scorpius' POV.

Letters to My Brown Eyed Beauty

Chapter Ten

Scorpius rolled over, away from the light, pulling his bed covers closer to him. He groaned when he heard someone start laughing. 'I'm trying to sleep, you git,' he thought to himself, hiding his head under his pillow.

"Waymire, you awake?"

"Don't think he is mate," Tate responded to Mycale, causing a growl to emit from Scorpius' lips. It was a Saturday and he expected to sleep in a little.

"I don't think Spencer is quite awake yet," gritted out a quiet voice.

"Potter, good to see you joined the land of the living," Tate responded to the voice, grinning ear-to-ear. "Well, while that may be true, but you two are about to join the land of the dead in a minute," the reply came back raspy. Albus Potter was grumpy in the morning and Scorpius' always knew never to bug him too early in the morning, to avoid being on the other end of one of his threats.

"I am awake, if anyone was still wondering," Spencer replied, groggily sitting up. "What's all the fuss for?"

The sound of curtain ruffling reached Scorpius' ears. He ignored it, enjoying some more much needed rest. "Scorpius, maybe it's time to wake up," Albus commented. Scorpius' eyes opened and narrowed a little before he rolled over, poking his head out of his curtains. He then stumbled to get up before realising why the entire dorm room had gone quiet. Scorpius sighed, smiling amusedly, "What are you doing in the boy's dormitory, Amelia?"

Amelia giggled a little, rolling her eyes.

"What?"

Amelia then gestured to Scorpius' exposed chest. Scorpius looked down and then up, redness creeping onto his neck. "It's nothing you haven't already seen, anyway," he commented drily, as if it was completely normal. Amelia blanched, "I don't enjoy seeing that, however." Scorpius rolled his eyes, 'Nobody wants to see you shirtless either,' he thought to himself. He even almost paled at the mere thought.

Amelia smiled at him, shaking her head. "What are you doing in here, anyway?" Scorpius asked, turning around to find a shirt. "If you don't mind me asking," he added quickly as to not offend her.

"Well," her face brightens, "Guess what today is?"

"What?"

"A Hogsmeade day! Oh please, can I come with you?"

Scorpius rolled his eyes, "Of course, who else would I take?"

Amelia shrugged, and Scorpius smiled while shaking his head. "Get out so I can get dressed."

"I don't' know why she always barges in places like that," he casually commented as if it was the most normal thing in the entire world. He pulled out a pair of old jeans and a light green shirt, deciding that would do for the day.

The rest of his roommate were surprised, and words had escaped them.

Scorpius smiled at Tray as he waved the three of them in. Mycale and Tate had left earlier on the cue of their rumbling bellies. They were no longer in sight, however, which confused Scorpius. He down beside Tray and Amelia sat on the other side of them. Albus sat across from them, beside Bryson Goyle. He was in a weird mood today and Scorpius' didn't want to push any of his buttons. They were all not super close but were on friendlier terms than most.

Trayton Zabini and Bryson Goyle were extremely close. Scorpius remembers hanging out with them as little kids before an incident happened and Bryson was no longer allowed to hang out with Scorpius. Scorpius was young and hardly remembers it at all. He also remembers Thorssen (Tor-Sen) spending a lot of time at Malfoy Manor as well. Scorpius had a lot of child memories that have blanks in them and he can't work out why.

The first day Scorpius met Bryson, he remembers not being able to say his name right and over time Bryce has stuck. It was easier than saying his full name. Bryson was reluctant to befriend Albus Potter, knowing that it would cause a problem with his family, but during their third year Bryson couldn't help but notice Albus was different to the rest of his family. He was truly one of them instead of a Weasley.

"Scorpius!"

He turns around to see Spencer shuffling around to sit beside Bryce. Scorpius nodded in his direction. "Tate and Myke want to meet you guys at the Three Broomsticks at two o'clock." Spencer shoots him a small smile, a rare one, and Scorpius nods back. He has always been quiet and prefers to stick to himself. He is always found with a book in one hand. He can never take them down.

Spencer looks away from Scorpius after that and focuses back on his book before shuffling to a seat further down.

The boys had their own specific routines in the morning.

"Why does that guy never sit with us?" Bryson asked, furrowing his eyebrows. "Maybe he doesn't like you guys," Albus teased, raising his eyebrows. "He prefers to eat alone," Scorpius says with a smirk. Bryson scowls at the two of them.

"Tray?"

"Mmm?"

"Does by any chance, I don't know, in some weird circumstance," Scorpius trails off, wondering how to best word his question. He scratched the back of his neck, unsure. "In what?" Tray's dark face is etched in confusion.

"Odd, weird and definitely unusual," Scorpius starts, "Circumstance that maybe Spencer has a girlfriend."

Tray looks taken aback before he begins laugh and so do the other boys.

"A what? Merlin's sake no way!"

"Aren't you guys really close?"

"We only study together on Thursdays because we all know Spencer has got the brains!" Tray says in defence. "I wouldn't call us close," he chuckles. "We are completely different species." Scorpius rolls his eyes, "You're a prat."

"What? Seriously, Waymire doesn't have the time to entertain a lady."

"Maybe he's gay," Bryson chimes in, "And that's perfectly okay. People can be gay."

Scorpius' hushes them boys as to not alert Spencer of their conversation.

"Case closed," Trayton drawls out before standing up and beginning to walk away. "Oi Zabini," Spencer shouts after him. Trayton look back, confused. "Weren't we going to Hogsmeade together?" Trayton shrugs, almost as if he forgot. Spencer smirked which is as rare as a smile these days.

"You didn't forget, did you?"

Spencer sighs, running h is fingers through his chestnut hair. He packs up his stuff and begins to follow Trayton out of the Great Hall.

Scorpius shakes his head at the boy's antics.

"I'm starving, so no more talk about who's gay and who isn't. Before I unfortunately remember the prank Potter and I pulled on Louis Weasley."

Albus shuddered, paling.

Scorpius laughed at a joke his best friend told as they walked out of the Great Hall. Tate and Mycale were in front of them, telling their own stories and jokes. Spencer and Trayton were ages in front of them, Scorpius' had lost sight of them.

Thorssen and Bryson were quite far behind the group. They were always the slowest walkers. The boys loved to tease them about it.

Amelia was on Scorpius' right, adding to their conversation here and there. Albus didn't even mind that she was always around. He got used to it. Scorpius hopes he likes his company and has stopped poking around in what happened last summer. He wanted to take the secret to his grave, if he could. He was terrified of horrifying his best friend.

Scorpius wasn't ready for Albus to know the truth just yet. He didn't want him to look at him weirdly. He doesn't want anybody's pity or sympathy. He doesn't need it. He's sixteen, he knew he could look after himself. He was stronger than everybody gave him credit for. He's an awfully good secret keeper and everybody wants him on their team – but when he is, how will they react when finding out he keeps an awful lot of secrets?

He keeps them from those he loves the most. He can't help it. It's a flaw in his personality to keep so many secrets.

'Will Albus ever forgive me for a lie I've been telling since the day we met?'
