Letters to My Brown Eyed Beauty
Chapter Fourteen
Albus was currently sitting at the Slytherin Table, chatting with the boys. "We should meet up at one, at the Three Broom Sticks," Trayton suggested, as he did a mini calculation in this head. "Why one?" Bryson asked. "Because I've got a date before then," he answered, grinning. "I think we all do," Spencer replied. "Do you even have a date?" Bryson teased Spencer. He scowled back. This started a massive conversation where the boys were shouting at each other. It wasn't pretty. They began throwing food at each other and even insults. The rest of the boys laughed, rolling their eyes. It was typical of Bryson to pick on Spencer, especially about girls. Spencer hardly ever swore but you knew when he did, you were in for it.
Spencer missed Bryson and accidentally threw a piece of food at Tate. He gapped at him in mock-shock before throwing food back. The three boys continued their food fight until the rest of the boys decided to get in on the fun.
The sound of someone clearing their throat stopped the boys. The boys noticed an unimpressed Professor McGonagall. Simultaneously the boys all pointed at Bryson, saying, "It was his fault!" Bryson gapped, "What traitors!"
"I expected better from you Mr Waymire, you're a prefect," McGonagall said. Spencer shrugged and the boys laughed. McGonagall shot him an appalled look. He shrugged again, "I would rather enjoy my years at Hogwarts, laughing with my friends then to be a Prefect. I never want to forget what it means to be a real friend to someone. They're what matters in the world to me. I'll gladly give the badge up. Friends are for life, but being a Prefect isn't. You can't find friends like these guys just anywhere," Spencer said with a grin on his face. The boys all began ruffling his hair and punching his arm.
McGonagall looked a little uncomfortable, "Loyalty is uncommon among Slytherin and I love to see that the house really has changed. If I see another food fight, I'll give you all detention next time."
Scorpius sniggered, "Loyalty has to be earned," he mumbled.
"Friends are for life," Albus said, "Don't you forget that." The boys all smiled at each other, knowing that their loyalty was far more important than anything else. One by one the boys got up to go get their dates.
"One o'clock, don't forget boys," Bryson called out after him as he walked away with Tallulah Jackson.
Albus was sitting on the table with Scorpius and Spencer.
"Spence?"
Albus turned to see a sandy brown haired girl with grey eyes. Albus remembers her at the Prefect meeting. Rochelle Anderson.
"Tell Bryce, he owes me 10 galleons," Spencer smirked, "This is my date, Rochelle."
"One o'clock, okay?" Albus said to Scorpius before walking off. He was sure Scorpius was going to Hogsmeade with Amelia. They were practically inseparable.
As Albus' watch reached 10:55, he was waiting at the school entrance for Vivian. He was so excited, he kept nervously fidgeting with his hair and clothes.
Scorpius' POV.
Scorpius smiled over at Amelia as she spoke about her new friend, Alex Gray. He didn't seem impressed.
'Stupid sodding Ravenclaw.'
"Do you like this guy, Amy?" Scorpius teased, tickling her neck. She shook her head, her purple hair falling down her shoulders. "Of course not," she said, shaking her head. "He's a bit old for you, man," Scorpius said, shaking his head. "You better not."
Amelia got distracted and her eyes widened, "Scor, look at this!" Her brown eyes were glued onto the chocolate. "It's just chocolate, Ames," Scorpius said, rolling his eyes. "No, it's not. It's Honeydukes Chocolate!"
Scorpius had gifted her some of it from his private stash and she had adored it. "Amy, it's really not that great, it's just chocolate from Honeydukes. Does this have any real purpose?"
Amelia's face suddenly drops, frowning, "I can't afford it."
Scorpius raised an eyebrow, "Excuse me while I laugh," he said, chuckling. "You need only ask, princess!" He said, pretending to bow as he teased her. She pushed him, "Sod off, ya prat!"
Astoria had a habit of spending the Malfoy money and Scorpius only got a little bit of it to spend at Hogsmeade, but he didn't mind spending it on Amelia. She was important to him. He picked up two blocks of chocolate, walking to the counter to pay.
"Zonko's?"
Scorpius placed one of the chocolate in his back pocket and the other one he opened for them to share. They walked towards the joke shop, grinning to themselves.
Vivian's POV.
Albus was a complete gentleman and Vivian couldn't help but enjoy herself. He was a bit too nice at times, but she didn't mind. They walked into Honeydukes just as Scorpius and Amelia Scarlett were walking out. Vivian didn't particularly like Amelia, there was something about her she just couldn't stand.
"Whats your favourite chocolate," Albus asked her. "What are we playing? Twenty questions?" Vivian asked, feeling a little uncomfortable. She wanted to know more about Albus and his life. Albus shrugged, "Is that a good game?"
"Its okay," Vivian said. "You ask me a question and I'll answer it and then I ask you, and then so on. How about that?"
Albus nodded, "So favourite chocolate?"
"Vanilla," Vivian answered and smiled at him and he nodded as they walked around.
"Yours?"
"Hazel-nut chocolate," answered Albus while he was walking to a section with the chocolates. "Favourite colour?" He asked her and she hummed and he smiled at her with mild amusement. "So," He prompt, and she just thought of the first thing at the top of her head, "Blue."
"Horrible cliché," Albus smirked at her. "Yours?" She asked back, attempting to deflect the attention back on him. "You know you could be more original," Albus commented and she shrugged. "Why be original when I can use all of your questions?" She giggled and he laughed back.
"So, what is your favourite colour, Potter?"
Albus sighed, "I love orange," he said, quietly. "Everyone expects it to be green but its not," he said, laughing a little. She smirked, "Shame it's not green," she said, teasing him. "Nah, orange is kind of cool."
"Favourite place? Anywhere in the world."
"Hmm...That would have to be...a tough one...but I choose visiting Australia. I can't choose what though, so just Australia," Vivian said. She had been there before, but she thought it was a safe option to say. It didn't give away too much of herself.
Albus smiled, nodding, paying for some chocolate.
"You," Vivian asked, wondering where he'd like to go in the world. "Well, I haven't actually been anywhere other than here," Albus answered, shrugging. "I enjoy Grimmauld Place and I made friends with a muggle boy who lives down there," he added, shrugging again as they walked out of the store.
Vivian made sure not to give too much away of herself as she was merely here to learn about Albus and his family – most particularly his father.
"What about your favourite animal?"
Vivian was startled out of her thoughts for a moment.
"A swan," she said, smiling, "I think they're pretty."
She hated swans. They seemed rather useless to her. They weren't a particularly smart animal, at least to her anyway.
"What about you, Albus?"
"It's a tie between a phoenix and a fox," he answered with a smirk, rivalling his older brother.
"Why can't you choose between the two?"
"That's an extra question," he said, quirking up an eyebrow at her.
"Phoenix because they're majestic birds and they are loyal to their masters. They only have one in their lifetimes. They come back every time. I also admire Forks and his loyalty to Dumbledore. I also love how they burn out and grow again. They're eternal creatures. I would love one of my own one day," Albus said, trailing off in thought.
Vivian wondered about the fox one though.
"What about the fox?"
Albus hesitated for a second, "They're beautiful in their own way."
Vivian raised an eyebrow at him in disbelief.
Albus shrugged again, "I see beauty in the things others don't."
Vivian didn't push him as his eyes began flashing with something akin to anger.
"If you can go anywhere in the world," Albus started, abandoning the old subject. "Where would it be?"
"France," Vivian said, off the top of her head, "The Eiffel Tower is cool."
She'd never been to France and didn't fancy the muggle monuments, but she knew Albus enjoyed the muggle world.
"You?"
"France," Albus answered, "But not for the same reason."
They entered the Three Broomsticks.
"I'll save you some embarrassment, the boys are like vultures, I'll see you tomorrow," Albus said, smiling. Vivian nodded, "Good luck," she teased.
Albus saw his chance and leaned in, closing the distance.
Albus' POV.
Albus Severus Potter had just had his first kiss and he was beyond excited. He didn't feel any butterflies or sparks, but he thought those things were made up anyway. It was a good kiss, however. He felt a little behind the times, only having his first kiss at sixteen.
He had kissed her a few times before they parted ways, just to get it right. They only broke apart because they'd heard cheering from the boys. He had come into the Three Broomsticks, face bright red, trying to ignore the boys.
He had assumed that by the way they were kissing, they were together. He didn't even have to ask her out. She would be his first girlfriend and he was so excited.
Albus grinned as he walked over to his friends. Rochelle, Tallulah and Amelia were there as well. Not all of the boys had invited their dates to come share a butterbeer with them.
"Well done, Albus, your first kiss," smirked Scorpius, patting his best friend on the back. That movement set off a chain of events: the boys began teasing and laughing at Albus. Scorpius ordered them all butterbeers for a 'toast'.
"It's only polite," Trayton said, wiggling his eyebrows.
"Congratulations," Bryson said, fit bumping Albus.
The boys all splashed their butterbeers at Albus with grins plastered on their faces. Albus scowled before laughing himself, despite the mess they made on his shirt, he knew he had lifelong friends.
The girls all laughed as well, drinking their butterbeers.
Best friends are a forever thing.
