Scorpius' POV.

Letters to My Brown Eyed Beauty

Chapter Twenty Two

Scorpius had left the dormitory two nights ago and hadn't gone back. He'd ran for the hills, metaphorically, anyway. He was absolutely terrified of what his best friend's reaction would be. He'd been lying his whole life about Amy and he was glad the burden had lifted a smudge from his shoulders. He felt awful for never mentioning her, but it was the safest option. He had to pretend a whole part of him didn't exist, that she didn't, just for her own safety. He felt like he should've told Albus that first time Albus had brought up that he had two siblings, James and Lily. He should've said: "I have a sister too, but she lives in France with her mother of course."

He knew that he couldn't have explained it at eleven when he hardly knew much himself. He had to keep her a secret because even talking about her a little would've required an explanation for what happened fifteen years ago. He wasn't allowed to. He felt like such a coward for running from him the minute he'd finally released his darkest secret. He'd been keeping two for so long and now that they're both out in the open, he didn't know what to say or do anymore.

'I should've told Albus the night she arrived.'

Without a notice, Scorpius had landed himself a bunch of great friends that he never knew he'd have been so close with at eleven. He was terrified of admitting who Amelia really was to all of them, so he kept it a secret. His dad had told him to, to keep his little sister safe. He would've done anything for that, and he pretty much did.

Amy made Draco a better father. Amelia had taught Draco how to raise his two kids in a better way, and Scorpius was grateful for it. Draco was less distant and more involved in both of his children's lives. He was at every birthday after Scorpius' sixth birthday – and he never missed a Christmas. Work was no longer more important to Scorpius' dad and he was happy. For most of the part, anyway.

Scorpius was a coward; avoiding Albus like the plague.

Fear swirled in the blonde boy's stomach as he thought about Teddy Lupin's wedding. Both his parents were invited alongside him and it sure as hell was going to be a terrible da for him. There would be so many forced smiles and polite gestures – a lot of anger bubbling under everybody's eyes. Scorpius knew that Draco would try to plant a picture in everybody's heads; The Malfoys were perfectly fine as a family.

"Scorpius, what're you doing?"

Scorpius' breath hitched in his throat as he turned around. The first thing he spotted were beautiful blue eyes and soft, heart-shaped face. His lips turned up in a smile as he noticed the freckles adorning her cheeks and her long, red hair. His heart skips a beat as his eyes land on Rose Weasley.

She was truly a breathtaking sight.

He loved the way she could make him smile despite the sour moods he may be in. Rose smiled back, "Albus has been looking all over for you," she murmured, taking a seat beside her long time crush. Scorpius' frown returns instantly at the mention of his best friend.

"I know you are avoiding him, and he knows it too. You don't have to talk to him right now but what's going on, Scorpius?"

Scorpius shook his head, "I don't want to talk about it." He really didn't, he was terrified. He didn't have permission to tell anyone about Amy except for Albus. He didn't want to lie to the girl he adored so much.

With a nod, Rose took a seat and they talked about things that were unimportant for a while. Nobody was near the Black Lake and Rose took her chance to plant a kiss on his lips. Scorpius kissed back, before pulling away with a smirk, "What, couldn't wait to kiss me, Weasley?"

Rose blushed bright red and that earned a chuckle from the boy. Rose was trying to distract him, and he knew it. He happily obliged by pushing her down on the grass, causing a giggle to emit from her lips. Scorpius leaned down slowly with a teasing smile before claiming her lips as his own. He didn't want to risk them getting caught though. He didn't need Albus to be mad at him for another reason.

It was a little while later before they came up for air and Rose whispered, "Will you come with me to Teddy's wedding?"

Scorpius was surprised that nobody had told her he'd gotten his own invitation. He chuckled with amusement as she huffed, blowing stray strands of hair out of her eyes. Scorpius laughed, moving the stray hairs behind her ear. He quickly kissed her lips again and then nodded, "I was invited after all, from three different people."

Rose looked confused, and in return, he said; "Teddy, Albus, and now; you."

Scorpius leaned close to her ear, whispering, "But what I'd love to know is; would you, Rose Weasley, care to be my date to Lupin's wedding?"

Rose blushed as red as her hair once more and nodded.

Scorpius felt overjoyed, like Christmas really had come early for him.

Albus Potter's POV.

Two days.

It'd been two days since Scorpius had told him the news. He'd ran straight out of that dormitory before Albus could even reply. He'd been avoiding him ever since. Albus knew it was because he was terrified of his reaction to the news but Albus knew that it was for Amy's safety that she was kept a secret this long.

It was an honour to have been trusted with it finally.

Scorpius always had a reason to do things and Albus didn't blame him. He understood the severity of the situation, but he did hope that Scorpius would talk to him soon. Every time Albus had tried to speak to his best friend, he'd just pointedly ignore him, and it had gotten so bad that Albus had to ask Rose for advice again.

It had been an hour since Rose had left to find the blonde boy and bring him back.

Albus was currently sitting in an armchair in the Slytherin common room and his eyes were glued to the door. Scorpius was bound to return sometime and this time, Albus was going to force him to speak to him.

With a sigh, Albus redirected his focus back to the piece of parchment in his lap. He'd received a letter from Lyra earlier and he had missed her terribly so.

The familiar smell travelled to his nose and his face lit up in a wide smile.

'Dear Green Eyed Boy,

I'm starting to wonder if we'll argue about Astronomy for the rest of our lives. Truth be told, I won't mind so much. It's fine to mess around with you. I'm known as the girl back at home who always wins in debates. I just thought you'd ought to know that, Romeo. I always get what I want. I want to show you the stars and teach you about their beauty. You will fall in love with them just as I have.

Green, if I asked you a question, would you take it seriously? I'd like to think you would. I imagine you as someone who is serious when needs to be but can also be a hell of a lot of fun when he wants to be. I imagine that we would have crazy amounts of fun and we'd spend a lot of time making the most of everything. I guess I imagine you as someone who is as wonderful and fun as you are in your letters.

I wonder, who do you imagine I am?

I hope that despite the way I was when we first met, that your opinion of me has grown a lot more and isn't decided on one mere event. I'm not the same girl as I used to be. I'm not as scared of the world as I used to be – if anything, I am thrilled to be apart of so much more than I can see. The world is so beautiful and there is always more to discover. I don't want to be scared of it. You give me the courage not to be, Green.

Truth be told, I used to dream we'd cross paths once more. I'd dream that you were prince charming and you'd take me away to a far away land and we'd live happily ever after. I know it seems silly but at the time, I watched a lot of muggle movies and it seemed absolutely wonderful.

You are absolutely wonderful, Green.

I'd wish that you'd take me away from my mother and we'd have lots of adventures. My mother isn't a terrible person, on the contrary, she's great. She never spoke about my dad much growing up and that had sucked immensely.

I used to dream about him too but now the dreams have faded. He's a different person than he was in my dreams; he's a better person in reality. He smiles too, even though my mother swore he never knew how to.

I hope that you are even more amazing than I imagined you to be, as well.

This brings me back to my earlier question;

What do you imagine me to be?

Love from your friend,

Lyra'

Albus smiled to himself.

It was simple.

Lyra would be tall – but never as tall as him – and she'd have big, brown eyes. They would be filled with such emotion and beauty that Albus could never tear his eyes away. She'd have her long, curly, platinum blonde hair cascading down her back. She'd be hilarious and ridiculous all at once. She'd be the type of person that it was almost impossible to frown around. She'd be the girl she described herself in her letters; a lover or pranks, brave and extraordinary.

He'd put his money on the fact that whenever she wound up in detention, she'd probably be the one to say; 'That was wicked, too bad we got caught, who's up for doing it again?'

A voice in the back of Albus' mind whispered, 'Does that remind you of anybody?'

Before Albus could contemplate the question being thrown around in his mind, a voice startled him.

"Albus, have you zee – seen Scorpius?"

Albus looked up, smiling as he greeted Scorpius' sister. It was new to him, but he was so damn thrilled she wasn't dating his best friend. He shrugged to her question, "He's avoiding me, so I'm not sure."

Amy sat down on the arm rest of the armchair Albus was sitting on and shot him a strange look.

"What are you talking about?"

"He's avoiding me," Albus supplied once more before looking up into her brown eyes. They seemed so familiar yet so different to him. Albus frowned before lowering his voice, "He told me."

Amy's eyes widened in shock and for a moment panic flickered in her beautiful eyes. It was gone the moment it had come though. She shot him a puzzled look, "He told you what?"

"That you," Albus started, dropping his voice a little more as he leaned closer to her. He was unaware he was taking in her scent as he did that, and it smelled oddly of roses. "You're his sister," he finished in a whisper.

Amy shifted uncomfortably for a moment before shooting him a sad smile. "Yeah, I am but these days, I can't see it anymore. I've been that 'Scarlett' girl my whole life. What would one more person knowing the truth ever change that?"

A frown appeared on his face. He didn't know she was sad about that and his heart leaped out of his chest. He wanted to make her feel better. He felt like he had to.

"You're Amelia Malfoy to me, so don't stress."

Amy smiled widely, "Thank you, Potter," she said as she punched his shoulder lightly.

'The name coming from my lips is weird but it's a good kind of weird,' he thought to himself with a smile.

Albus cracked a smile, "You're welcome, Malfoy," he said.

There was silence for a while before Amy piped up once more.

"Does this latest information change anything?"

Albus shot her puzzled look and she shrugged, "Between us."

Amy noticed his continued look of confusion and decided to clear it up. "Does me being his sister change anything? I know we haven't known each other terribly long," she said quickly before going silent once more. Albus smiled and shook his head, "We are still friends. The fact you're his sister changes nothing, I promise."

The answer must've irked Amy because she stood up and her face turned red. "I was afraid of this. Being his sister makes me 'off limits', am I right? Of course, I am, I'm a Scarlett for merlin's sake!"

"What?"

"I thought you knew but obviously not," Amy said with a frown.

"Knew what?"

"Potter, are you oblivious?"

Amy shook her head, "I know what happened between you and Carlsson. I'm sorry and all but she wasn't that great of a person anyway. She only wanted you for your fame."

"Don't remind me," Albus muttered darkly. He'd never not remember his ex-girlfriend in any way.

"Maybe if you were less dense you'd see that someone sees the real you and doesn't give a rats ass who your father is," she said before turning away on her heels. She paused for a moment, turning back towards him, "Think about it, Potter. Let me know when it sinks in."

Amy walked out of the common room with her purple hair swaying behind her leaving Albus Potter confused in her wake.
