Author's Note: I decided there should've been a chapter before the wedding. I think it would flow better and instead of me rushing details into the wedding chapter/s, I could probably write them in this chapter. I hope you all enjoy this! Don't forget to review. If you're an older reader, do go back and re-read the story as I've changed quite a few things. I wasn't happy with the original piece and I felt that it deserved a re-write. I believed you all deserved to read a well-written and thought-out piece. I had so many dreams for this story, but I felt that I hadn't quite reached it's potential in the original write. I do hope you all can forgive my lengthy absences and my half-hearted commitment to this story in the beginning. I hope to one day actually finish the story and know where I was heading with it. I believe you all deserve to see it completed after all this time. This is my longest standing story and I am proud and a little bittersweet about it. If London-Boy reads this, know every chapter from now on is for you. Lots of love, my old friend, Ely Lovegood Dumbledore (as you loved to call me at thirteen) x

Albus' POV.

Letters to My Brown Eyed Beauty

Chapter Twenty Four

Albus Floo-ed in through the Burrow's fireplace at seven sharp at night. He didn't want to deal with everybody screaming and frantically running around today, so he'd opted to come in a little later. He knew Scorpius was right behind him as nervous as ever. Albus knew his nerves wouldn't calm down quickly and he was almost sure the blonde was nervous about being invited to Teddy's wedding and even a little nervous about the fact he was kind of dating Rose. Their lives really were a little messed up. Everything had changed so drastically for them this year and they barely had time to keep up with it. The sixteen year old was kind of relieved his best mate never asked again about the secret he'd let slip that he was still holding onto tightly. He wished he could've just told Scorpius about Lyra, but he knew the other boy just wouldn't understand.

Nobody would understand Albus' fixation with the strange girl from five years ago. He was starting to wonder if she'd be a secret he'd take to his grave. They weren't any closer to meeting and Albus had accepted it as if it was fact now. He had to learn to let her go, so he could let Amelia in. She deserved to get to know him in his entirety and if things were right, maybe she could learn to love all of him – and he too, could learn to give his heart to another instead.

"Oh, Albus you're finally here," gushed Ginny Potter, pulling her second son into a big hug. She wasn't always affectionate but on the odd occasions she was, it really made Albus uncomfortable. When he'd been sorted into Slytherin and James hadn't spoken to him in months, Ginny didn't reach out and comfort him either. She took the news harder than James did. Albus felt like he was alone for the first few weeks before Harry had sent him an owl, reminding him that his parents still loved him and that despite the house difference, he'd still be family. Albus was thankful for the letter at the time but as he grew, he noticed he had a habit of being the odd one out. He hated it at times, but he realised it brought him closer to Scorpius and he'd gained a life long friend in the midst of chaos.

"Yes, mum," Albus grumbled, trying to pull away. In that moment, Scorpius had come through the fireplace as well and he'd snorted at the scene he'd walked into. "Don't you dare say it, Malfoy," Albus muttered, pulling away from his mother and dusting his clothes off. "I didn't say anything, Potter," Scorpius teased, wiggling his eyebrows. Albus rolled his eyes in return and didn't dignify it with a response.

"Are you boys ready to eat," Molly Weasley called with a wide smile upon her lips. She'd missed her grandson and even though she wouldn't admit it aloud, she missed Scorpius too. He was a lovely kid and he was very respectable. He never forgot his manners. Molly may have despised Lucius growing up and Draco a little, she realised that as time went on, the Malfoys became a little less intolerable. Albus was glad that Scorpius was invited into the family as if he really was one of them.

"Not quite yet," Scorpius commented, "There's one more of us coming."

Albus had almost forgot about Amy. He was definitely happy she'd agreed to be his date to Teddy's wedding tomorrow, but the only problem was that Scorpius had reminded him that Amy had to stay a secret. Just like Rose and Scorpius' blossoming romance. There was just too many secrets for Albus to keep up with, it was beginning to take a toll on him.

"Oh?" Molly asked, eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Her question was soon answered when a fifteen year old girl stepped through the fireplace. Her messy, purple hair was tied up in a ponytail and she looked a little confused.

Amy, suddenly noticing all the eyes on her, shuffled awkwardly. "I'm here with Scorpius," she mumbled out, cheeks going red. Scorpius nodded, "She's my plus one. Hope that's okay," he asked, nervously. After a moment of shock, Molly nodded. Ginny looked awfully confused and didn't comment.

"That's perfectly all right, dear," Molly said, "There's always room for one more at the Burrow."

"Thank you, Mrs Weasley," Scorpius and Amy chimed in together as if their thoughts mirrored one another. Albus tried not to be a little sad about the fact Amy had said she was Scorpius' plus one. He knew it was better this way. It was easier too. He didn't have to deal with Ginny's incessant questions.

"Let's go eat, shall we?" Harry asked with a chuckle, "Good to see you again, Miss Scarlett."

"You too, Mr Potter."

"Rose are you happy to bunk with Amy tonight," Molly asked her granddaughter, hoping she'd accept. She knew it was late notice, but it was better late than never. Rose nodded a little hesitantly, shooting Scorpius a look. Scorpius shrugged, as if he thought it would be okay for one night. Albus could feel the tension in the room, it was so thick, you could cut it with a knife. The only problem was that all of the adults were completely oblivious to it.

"I could stay with Scorpius," Amy said, shrugging but Scorpius hit her on the arm quickly. Albus couldn't help but be a tad annoyed about it even though he knew they were siblings. Ginny shook her head, "My mother is way too strict to ever allow girls and guys to share a room," she commented, shrugging. "Only because you'd have probably watched Harry sleep like a weirdo," George commented, chuckling. Ginny scowled, and Harry laughed.

"He's got a point, Gin," Percy said, shaking his head with a little bit of a laugh. "You really were obsessed with him," piped in Bill, as if it was completely casual. Ginny's face kept turning red and Albus hoped to merlin that his future didn't mirror the present in any way.

"Let's all not gang up on Ginny, shall we?" Molly said, sternly. "Scorpius you'll be staying with Albus as usual," she added. Scorpius nodded, knowing that he always did bunk with his friend. This time around, there'd be more than just them two in the room. They'd have to share it with Fred as well. James had drawn the best straw and had gotten to sleep at Teddy's apartment for the night. He had all the perks because he was best man. Albus was perfectly okay with not being best man though. It was never his place. James and Teddy were the closest and it only seemed fitting that he'd be chosen.

"Time for bed you lot," Arthur said with a smile, "We've got a big day tomorrow so let's not stay up late." He fixed a look at George as if he knew George would saying. They had all come down to celebrate one last dinner as a family before Victoire and Teddy would tie the knot tomorrow. Victoire had been too busy telling Louis and Dominique that tomorrow had to be perfect that she hardly ate a thing at all. The only two missing were the groom and his best man, who probably threw a great two-manned party to send off Teddy's bachelorhood.

"Come on," Albus said, standing up, jerking his head towards the bedrooms. Scorpius and Amy followed closely behind. "Do I actually have to bunk with your new girlfriend, Scor," Amy asked in a whisper. She didn't look pleased. Scorpius sighed, "Please, can you just try to get along? You both mean a lot to me and I'd love it if you guys could mend the bridge."

"I'll only try if she does," Amy said, grumbling. Albus sighed, knowing it wasn't his place to say anything at all. It was a family matter, after all. "She's assured me she will," Scorpius said, "Now it's up to you to play nice too." Amy pouted, "But she's so mean!" Scorpius sighed, "She was just jealous. She thought there was something between us. It was a misunderstanding."

Amy snorted, "She's clearly stupid if she thinks we have something going on."

Albus did too until he'd found out the truth.

He's feeling a little bit stupid now too.

"Scor, get up!"

"Albus get up!"

"What," Scorpius grumbled, rolling over. It was the middle of the night and Amy, dressed in a dressing gown, had snuck into their room. Albus attempted not to hear them but it was hard not to. "Can we get ice cream?" She asked, and Albus' heart had fluttered. He sat up, scratching his head for a moment. "What type of ice cream?" He asked. "The best kind," she said, smirking. There was a twinkle in her eye that Albus knew all too well.

"I don't have a secret stash of muggle ice cream," Scorpius said, rolling his eyes. "Time for an adventure then!" Amy said with glee. "Oh no way in hell," he said. Albus shrugged, "I wouldn't mind some ice cream," he said with a smile. Amy's smile only widened. "I knew I liked you, Potter," she said and Albus' cheeks flushed red. Scorpius grumbled but he got up nevertheless. Albus was just excited to be spending some more time with Amy. They tried to be as quiet as possible when leaving the room, only to be met with the face of Rose Weasley.

"Where do you think you lot are going?"

Albus had a feeling Rose thought Amy was just sneaking into their rooms to sleep there for the night. He would've enjoyed that, but he knew that Amy never did anything without a reason.

"To get ice cream," Amy said in a clipped tone. Rose faltered for a second as she didn't expect that answer. Scorpius smiled, "Come with us, Rose," he said. Rose beamed up at him, "I'd love that."

Albus didn't mind but he knew Amy would, so he just lightly brushed his hand against hers to let her know it was going to be all right. There was room for one more.

He'd never felt sparks before. It was a completely new concept to Albus and it made him want to hold her hand all the more, but he refrained from doing so. He didn't want Scorpius to freak out at him.

The four of them snuck out of the Burrow and went in search for some ice cream. Scorpius always kept a stash of muggle money and so did Amy. Albus had never asked about it before but he knew for sure they'd learned the currency from somewhere. He kept the questions about their childhood to a minimum. He knew Scorpius was entitled to his privacy too.

Rose and Scorpius were further ahead, holding hands as they chatted. Albus was glad to finally have a moment alone with Amy.

"Thanks for inviting me, Albus," she said with a smile. Albus shrugged, "No problem. I actually really wanted you to come. I think it would've been a little weird if the trio was split up for the weekend," he said with a wink. Amy blushed light pink, contrasting to her hair. Albus had grown quite fond of her purple hair. He thought it suited her. He often wondered if she was originally a brunette or a blonde. He'd never asked. He was sure she was just as beautiful regardless of her hair colour.

It wasn't long before Amy had a pistachio gelato in her hand and Albus had a chocolate one. They'd been split up from Scorpius and Rose a while back but neither had minded. It felt nice to be spending some quality time together.

"It just sucks everyone has to think I'm Scorpius' plus one," Amy said, suddenly, "To protect his relationship. I wish everyone could know I was your date."

Albus smiled sadly, "It's also safer if people think you're his date. Unfortunately, nobody would make a connection of the two of you being siblings if you're his date not mine. I wish you could've been mine too."

"I am yours," Amy said, quietly, "Your date, I mean. At least between us four," she mumbled. "Rose isn't so bad now," she added, "I think she doesn't feel threatened by me anymore."

"Of course not," snorted Albus, "She's finally got Scorpius."

Amy rolled her eyes, "He's not even that great," she joked with a chuckle. Albus chuckled back, "You're his sister. Of course you think he's not great."

Out of impulse, Albus did something he knew he probably shouldn't have. He'd get in a lot of trouble with his best mate but in this moment, he couldn't care less. Amy looked absolutely breathtaking, sitting there in that park bench. Her purple hair was half tied back, and little curls had fallen in front of her face. Her brown eyes twinkled in the night sky and Albus knew he was a goner.

As soon as their lips touched, Albus wondered why he hadn't done that before.

Here were the facts:

Relaxed posture.

Soft, gentle lips.

A hand on her face.

Arms on his waist.

Sparks.

Tingles.

Amelia Scarlett-Malfoy was a better kisser than Albus had ever anticipated. She kissed with such expertise that he wondered if he should've practiced more but mostly glad he didn't. The less time he kissed anybody else and the more times he got to kiss her, he thinks he'd be pretty content.

Safe to say, it was the best kiss of Albus' short-lived life and he was going to cop it from his best friend.

'If I'm going to get in trouble, I may as well make it worth it.'

And so they kissed again, and everything felt like it was falling into place.

His life didn't seem so bad when she was kissing him.

Everything in the world felt the way it should feel; perfectly right.
