Fear and anxiety coursed through me as I made my way to the cell that would be my room for the night. Raphael guided me to the chains that hung from the wall. Donatello had reinforced the steel and made sure they would be strong enough to keep me in them. Even still we had a backup plan. The guys would stand guard around the library with tranquilizer guns to take me out if the first plan fails. I could only hope that the first plan works and this would be a safe place for me every full moon.
I turned my attention to Raphael. He was attentively placing the iron cuffs onto my wrists. We made eye contact briefly, before he quickly turned his attention to chaining my other wrist.
I heard him snicker before he said, "Never thought you'd be the type of chick that would let a guy chain her up."
I frowned at his attempt to lighten the mood.
"Sorry." He sighed as he watched me scowl into the darkness.
"It's okay…I'm just being a little sensitive."
"So…uh…how are ya feelin?" He asked cautiously.
"I'm fine." I paused, "But I can smell your fear. Please calm down. I don't like it."
He looked extremely alarmed at my words. But I could tell he was actually trying to calm himself down.
"I know I'm going to be fine." I tried my best to reassure him even though I had no idea if I would be fine or not.
He stepped closer to me and double checked the chains around my ankles and wrists.
"All secure?" I asked him. My voice sounded more confident than I felt.
"Yeah. I don't think you'll have an easy time getting out of these." He replied.
Slowly he reached his hand out to caress my face. "I don't know if I can stand seeing you in pain."
A thick silence fell over us as I thought over what he had just said.
"I don't want you to see me in pain. I don't want you to see me as a feral wolf." I replied as I placed a kiss to his hand that still caressed my cheek.
He stepped forward and placed his lips on mine. It was the first time in a long time that we had kissed. I hadn't realized how much I truly missed his touch until right now. But just as the kiss began, it stopped and he pulled away. I felt a jolt of pain run through me. It was unlike any other pain I had ever felt. It reverberated through my skull, boiled my blood and twisted my bones.
"Get out." I managed to murmur through the agony.
"I can't leave you like dis'" I vaguely heard him say. I could hardly hear anything over the sound of his heartbeat pounding in my ears.
"GET OUT!" I snarled in a voice that sounded feral and inhuman.
I could feel the edges of my consciousness starting to blur.
Raphael's POV
I backed out of the cell and locked the door.
I couldn't look away. She was writhing in agony. Screaming at the top of her lungs. I wanted more than anything to help her and to take her pain away. But in this moment she also scared the crap outta me. I watched quietly from the shadows as her body twisted and cracked into a different shape. Fur sprouted all over her body and she grew a good ten inches in height. Shreds of her dress were still hanging onto her form.
Her cries of pain stopped and she stood full height in the dim light of the cage glaring into the shadows at me.
'Can she actually sense that I'm in here?' I shuddered.
Snarling she bent her head back and unleashed a blood curdling howl. It was impossible for me to comprehend that that monster is actually Sarah. Just as the thought entered my mind, the beast turned its attention back to the shadows I was occupying.
'I know you're there, Raphael." I heard the feral sounding voice loud in my mind. "I am not your Sarah. I am the beast sharing her body. When the moon is in full view, she will be hidden. I will be in control. These bonds cannot hold me forever."
"They look like they're doin' a pretty good job holding you in now." I spoke, sounding more confident than I felt.
She snarled, "In time. I will weaken these bonds and I WILL DEVOUR YOU."
That's about all I could handle. I retreated further away from the beast. Still able to keep an eye on her, but far enough away that she could not pervade my mind. As I stood watching her struggle against the chains, I thought back to the first time I had actually met her. She was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen. I wanted more than anything to make her mine.
Of course, I had only been able to make her mine in bed. I had my doubts that she would ever want more wit me. Maybe it wasn't just a coincidence that Mona decided to drop by for a visit. I couldn't keep up this thing with Sarah. As much as I truly wanted her, she didn't want me and never will.
The best thing for the both of us would be to just move on.
Narrator
Hours passed and the moon was finally beginning to retreat and the sun was taking its place in the sky. The wolf had given up on escaping from the bonds and Raphael remained still watching from a far, shrouded in darkness. He felt relieved that the night was over. The entire event had truly terrified the tough guy. Not that he would go around admitting that to anyone. As the sun rose higher and higher into the sky, the wolf retreated and Sarah began to look like Sarah again.
Her dress was torn off of her and she lay there pale and bruised on the cold cell floor. Raphael approached her naked form still somewhat cautiously before stooping down next to her. She was sound asleep and didn't look like she would be waking soon. He turned to the bag she had packed, in it was a change of clothes. With a little difficulty he manage to pull the t-shirt and shorts onto her body. Once she was covered he picked her up and made for the door. He needed to get her checked out by Donnie, just to make sure she was okay after the traumatizing event.
Once back in the apartment, Raphael carried Sarah into her room. Everyone had been anxiously waiting for their return so they each followed to the small bedroom. Raph lay her down on her bed before turning to Donnie.
"Can you check her out? You wouldn't believe the night she had."
"Oh I'd believe it." The bespectacled turtle replied. "I think the entire city could hear her howls."
He observed her sleeping form before speaking, "She seems to be fine, I think she just really needs rest."
"Poor thing." Whitley responded as she sat down beside Sarah on the bed. "I'm going to sit with her a while."
"Okay, babe." Leonardo spoke as he placed a kiss on her blonde head. "We have to get a little sleep before patrol tonight."
None of them had slept. Each turtle had honestly been too terrified to let their guard down for the entire night.
"Where's Mona and everyone else?" Raphael asked Michelangelo as they closed the door to Sarah's room.
"Back at the lair. We didn't really want to explain to them that Sarah is a werewolf." He replied.
They exited out the window in Whitley's room.
"Shell, I can't wait to get some sleep." Raph said with a yawn as he pulled the lid off the manhole.
