Feeling tired she lay down and quickly fell asleep hoping for hours to go by. Goten was staring at his sister and didn't like her being sick since she couldn't play with him and she was so pale. He looked out the door and hoped that his dad would come back with a cure for his sister but knew that it wouldn't be that simple. Hearing the knock on the front door he wasn't surprise that it was his sister's friend Sai. He was okay since he cared for his sister even if it was just to annoy her plus he was the one to warn him about his sister's unnatural ability to predict his and Trunks pranks. The two had tried everything to get his sister and it was all for nothing she never walked into their pranks or tell them where they went wrong before she would have set it off. In a way it pissed them off that she was unprankable but she also got them back and it had started a healthy prank war.
Sai had made it to his friend's house and knocked on the door wondering if she was just sick or faking it since it was noticeable that she hated going to school. He was pretty sure that she wasn't faking since Naruto and Ino both stated that she didn't have it in her but Sasuke was sure that she was saying that she had never been sick in her life. He noticed Goten had answered the door and smiled at him as he asked if he could see his sister. Goten quickly took him upstairs and he could tell that Gohan was very sick. He walked over to her and shook her awake.
Sai said, "Gohan, I grabbed your homework for you since you weren't there and I know you don't like to fall behind on anything."
Gohan sickly smiled and said, "Thanks Sai I appreciate it. Hopefully I'll be back on Monday I don't why I'm sick I've never been sick before."
Sai replied, "Sorry Gohan, all I can tell you is to get better. You're the medical ninja not me."
Gohan smiled him again as Goten grabbed the homework and put it on her desk.
As the days past Gohan worked on her homework and was glad that her friend's were so thoughtful. Her dad told her what was going on with her and told her that she more than likely wouldn't be going to school until the mating was complete. Gohan had called Sai and asked if he could pick up her homework for her. Sai quickly agreed and knew that he would also have to tell Vegeta that she wouldn't be there for training. She looked over at her brother and noticed that he was having trouble with whatever their mom had her working on. She carried her chair over towards him and started to help him get the answer.
When Monday came around Gohan could barely move her body. It took all of her strength just to sit up. She frowned as she fell back in a laying position on her bed. Goten looked at his pale sister and frowned he really wanted his sister to be better since she had told him that she would train him twice a week once she was better.
He said, "I'll go and get mom and dad for you sis just don't try to get up."
Gohan weakly said, "Thanks Goten and I couldn't move even if I wanted to I used all my energy just trying to sit up. I hate this I never been sick in my life and because Piccolo isn't ready I can't even go to school."
Goku came up after Goten had told him and he was really worried since she looked a lot worse. Chichi had been hoping that she would be fine to go back to school but he could tell that wasn't going to happen. Gohan weakly looked at her father and said, "Dad I tried to get up for school but I don't have the energy it feels like I did when it came to the end of the Cell games."
Goku said, "Don't worry my girl I will take care of your mom about not going to school and I will see Piccolo and tell him that we can't wait. Your ki is weakening and that is why you feel so out of it you're using your ki to stay alive."
Goku watched as Gohan just fell back to sleep and went downstairs and told Chichi what was going on. Chichi wasn't happy since once again Gohan was missing school which in her mind meant that her daughter was going to end up joining a gang and being held back a year. Goku sighed he really wished that Chichi would think about what their daughter wanted. He knew that Gohan loved being a ninja and was thinking about going back if she could convince Piccolo to go with her. She had told him that she had a good paying a job if Piccolo rather she not go on missions since she was also a medic. He loved his girl and knew that Piccolo would do whatever Gohan wanted since he loved to see her smile. The one thing that Gohan had told him was that she wouldn't mind being a stay at home mom.
After breakfast Goku flew over to see Piccolo he brought Goten since Chichi told him that she needed to keep an eye on their daughter and Goten always tried to keep Gohan awake when she was attempting to sleep. When he landed near the waterfall he was surprise to see that the house was almost done and saw Piccolo walking over to them.
Piccolo said, "This isn't a social call is it?"
Goku replied, "No, Gohan is getting worst she can't even get up from a lying position this morning she has no energy and I'm afraid if we don't act today then she might not make it to live tomorrow. Right now she is living on her ki."
Piccolo knew what Goku was telling him since Gohan had pretty much told him to hurry up on whatever he had to finish the night that they got back he knew he should have done the ceremony then but he really wanted her to have a house for that but then again inside a cave would suit them well too.
He sighed as he snapped his fingers to let the souls go back to HFIL and took to the sky with Goku and Goten right next to him. As the three flew in the sky they didn't talk only because Piccolo was sensing his mate's ki while Goku was just worried about what was going on with his daughter. They both knew that Gohan was strong and that she had so much ki that she probably could live a week before she actually died. They weren't going to take the chance.
Piccolo finally made it to the house and after opening the door he calmly walked in and told Chichi that Goku and Goten should be here in a few minutes. Chichi sighed and nodded she may have not liked Piccolo but would get along with him for the sake of her oldest. It wasn't that she hated Piccolo it was more of the fact that she disliked him for taking Gohan away when she was only five and trained her in martial arts. Gohan had finally told her about Piccolo always trying to protect her and what he had yelled at Goku during the Cell games. Thanks for what Piccolo did for her daughter she would try to get to know the person that Piccolo was for her daughter's sake.
After Piccolo told Chichi about Goku was on his way he walked up the steps to his best friend and soon to be mate's room and was shocked at what he saw. Gohan was sprawled out on the bed like she had fallen out of a tree and that was the way she landed. Her skin was pale and she wore a light purple nightgown. He thought damn she looks like the angel she was suppose to be. He picked her up and was worried when she didn't make any sound or movement but was quickly relived when he noticed that she was still breathing and thought shit I should have been paying closer attention to her. As he walked downstairs he knew that flying would be too dangerous since her ki was weakening at every moment the only thing he could do was ask Goku to instant teleport them to the waterfall. After talking to Goku and being teleported to where their new home was still almost finished he quickly walked towards the waterfall.
At school once again Sai, Ino, Sasuke, and Naruto were all waiting for Gohan who once again was either late getting to school or just not showing up. Sai still had a bruise from the spar he had with Vegeta when he told him that Gohan probably wouldn't show up to train until Monday and even that was up for discussion. Let's just say that Sai learned why everyone stayed out of Vegeta's way. As the four walked into school and into class they were still too deep in thought to notice Videl was staring at them for answers.
Ino said, "Guys we don't have the time today to go and give Gohan the homework since Kakashi told us that right after school he wants to train with us and that includes you Sasuke and plus with homework."
Sai nodded and said, "We know that she is smart and will finish whatever we did in a matter of seconds so we shouldn't worry about her falling behind in class we can give her the notes next time we see her."
The four nodded as Naruto was worried it was normal for him to go a few days without Gohan not hitting him for something but from what Sai had told them about how she looked Friday, well he just hope that she would be fine. He never knew Gohan to get sick and the thought was scaring him more and more.
Out in the cave Gohan groggily woke up when she felt somebody put her down on something very comfy only to find out that it was a king size bed. She was sure that either it was memory form or a memory form mattress. She was wondering where she was since one she realized she had some more energy than she did for the last three or was it four days. Also she wasn't in her room since her ceiling was white not brown, she looked at the roof even more and noticed that what made the ceiling was rocks. She thought okay so I must be in a cave which means that Piccolo must have brought me here but why. Piccolo walked over to her when he had noticed that his Gohan had finally woken up enough to listen to what he had to say.
He said, "Gohan you know as well as I do that you ki is keeping you alive at the moment. Now we are given two options the first is that you and I mate which will save your life and mind or the second option is that we don't mate which would kill you in about a week and my life soon after because I'm pretty sure your ninja friends would attempt to kill me and if they don't have successes then I'm sure your dad, Vegeta, and Dende will. It's your choice not mine, I know that your whole life was about what others want this is all about what you want."
Gohan weakly asked, "What do I have to do I loved you even before I could remember your name Piccolo, it just gives me a reason not to say no since I don't want the reason you die because my friends think that you let me die. Plus someone has to save everyone from Naruto when he decided that Konoha hasn't had their daily dose of him being his number one knuckle head of a ninja session."
Piccolo looked at his girl and smirked it was well known between the two of them that Gohan was the only thing that saves Konoha from Naruto or saves Naruto from Konoha.
Getting back on track he said, "You don't have to do nothing kid, I'll do everything you just enjoy the ride."
Gohan watched as Piccolo cut their left wrist and put them together while he started to mumble something that Gohan had no idea what was being stated. All of a sudden she blacked out. Piccolo knew this was going to happen and just kept up with the mating ritual.
The next morning when Gohan woke up she noticed three things one was that she was back to her old self energy wise, two her right side of neck and left wrist was hurting, and three she was naked. Quickly she threw on her night gown that she found on the floor of the cave she smiled when she noticed Piccolo still sleeping and looked at his left wrist there was a line going across and when she looked at her pale left wrist she saw one that looked exactly identical to his.
Piccolo had woken when he felt someone staring at him he noticed that it was his mate was looking rather curiously at his wrist then hers. He decided to take her out of her curiosity state and to let her know he was up.
He said, "Its part of the mating ritual love we are now and forever mates."
Gohan nodded as she faced him with a smile and Piccolo noticed the scar on her left shoulder where she was hit by Cell when she went to save Vegeta. He wondered how they never noticed it before but then again none of them had ever seen her left shoulder uncovered. Since they were all so worried about her health they wouldn't have noticed the scar. Gohan noticed that her mate was looking at the scar from Cell and told him that it healed that way but it was fine with her since it stands as a reminder of what happened and how arrogance and overconfidence can make you blind in the heat of the battle.
When Piccolo got dressed he walked out of the cave with Gohan and told her about how he was almost finished with the house and saw her looking at it with a confused look.
He said, "Gohan I know you want to go back to Konoha and be a ninja. I thought it will be nice that you take time off that we get away and come here so you can still invest time with your family. This would give us a place to stay and not have to rely on staying with your parents or at Capsule corps and if we really wanted to once we have kids we can raise them here if that is what you want."
Gohan smiled and said, "Love the idea but please no kids until I'm at least 20 years old I do love my career right now."
Piccolo chuckled as he picked her up and flew to her home so she could get changed into something decent.
