Chapter Seven: Classes Begin!
"I can't believe you and I actually like the same show" Tori said three hours into their One Tree Hill marathon. Jade shrugged. They were sharing Tori's bed because her side was the neatest and they both needed to see the TV and reach the pizza. Or at least that's the excuses Jade was telling herself. You know just in case anyone from Hollywood Arts were to suddenly burst into their room… that was very unlikely though.
Well unless it was Cat and Cat would probably just sit in the middle of them and offer them candy.
"Yeah well One Tree Hill is a great show with great writing… I only hope to achieve writing as good as that one day!" Jade admitted.
"Are you kidding? Jade you're a great writer yourself!" Tori said giving Jade a small smile.
"Aw, thanks Vega… You're a great song-writer" Jade said, reluctantly giving Tori a compliment.
"Nothing changes, does it?" Tori mused. Jade shrugged.
"What?" Jade asked.
"Here we are getting along just fine… and it pains you just to give me a compliment" Tori chuckled.
"It doesn't pain me… it's just I have a reputation to uphold" Jade pointed out matter of factly. Tori laughed.
"Who are you trying to prove this to… it's only me!" Tori pointed out. Tori edged closer to the goth. "We're friends now right?" She asked hopefully.
Jade felt a little sad about the thought that Tori only thought of her as a friend but nodded anyway.
"Sure, why not" Jade said, nonchalantly.
"C'mon you've gotta give me more than that!" Tori whined. Jade raised her eyebrows.
"I'm sorry are you confusing me with some other Jade West?" Jade joked.
"I don't know. Is this other Jade West more pleasant?" Tori joked back, she looked at her watch and realised it was 11pm.
"It's late and classes start tomorrow. I think we should get some sleep." Tori suggested. Jade looked to her bed on the other side of the room and then at Tori.
"But that requires moving!" Jade complained.
"Well it's not that far to go!" Tori pointed out.
"But I'm comfy here!" Jade added.
""Well Fine sleep here then… either way I'm going to bed!" Tori said.
Tori woke up with Jade's head crushing her arm. It was really uncomfortable sharing a single bed but Tori didn't mind all that much because it meant she got to share a bed with Jade and she would take small victories when she could! Tori left Jade sleeping in her bed and got ready to start her first class with Mr Grey.
Jade woke up just after Tori left their room and looked at the time. She still had about an hour until she had to leave for her first class so she decided to head down to the local coffee shop.
She ordered her usual black coffee with two sugars and sat down. Jade took in the people walking past and got out her notebook. She wanted to write down things she saw hoping it would give her inspiration for her screen play about Uni students. It was set in England as Jade quite liked the idea of the English accent. She hoped to be different than most writers and actually get the accent right. Of course she would play the lead role of; Maxine if this play ever payed off!
Jade noticed an argument outside the shop. By the looks of things it was a couple about to break up. The girl was young, probably in her early 20's and the guy looked about 10 years older... maybe it wasn't a couple after all? The guy looked familiar actually, that's when Jade realised it was one of her professor's for this year. She'd seen a picture of him on the website. Jade hoped he hadn't actually been seeing one of his students but either way it inspired her for her screen play.
Later on that day Tori and Jade met up in their last class of the day.
"So how was your first class?" Tori asks Jade as they take their seats.
"Great actually. Yours?" Jade wandered.
"So amazing! I'm glad I decided to come here!" Tori said. "Mr Grey has already set us a task and I'm sure I'm going to nail it!" Tori chirped.
"That's great Vega. I'm sure we'll both do great... Oh the professor's here!" Jade said and they both turned their attention to their acting teacher. He looked very normal looking and they both found themselves missing Sikowitz.
