Chapter Ten: Caffeine Please.

"Did you sleep well?" Tori asked Jade sweetly as they both awoke simultaneously, Jade gave the brunette a half smile.

"Time… Vega" Jade mumbled, for a moment Tori was taken aback from Jade's bluntness but she decided not to take it personally. It was probably because Jade was tired after being out so late last night and she had woken her up at three in the morning when she'd got back.

"Uh… It's ten in the morning" Tori said. Jade groaned audibly.

"I'll tell you what I'll wake up Cat and we will go for a coffee?" Tori suggested. Jade shrugged.

"Okay".

Tori shuffled out of bed and walked across the room to her own bed where the red head was still fast asleep.

"Cat… It's time to get up" Tori said softly, when there was no response from their friend Jade through a pillow at her.

"Ow, what was that for?" Cat whined, rubbing her head.

"Vega's made me get up so now I'm getting you up!" Jade explained. Tori shook her head.

"She's cranky in the mornings, do you wanna grab a coffee with us before you go home?" Tori said.

"A-huh" Cat said as she yawned and stretched her arms out in the air.

The coffee place was busting with people when we arrived. Jade and Cat took a seat whilst Tori stood in line to get their coffee's. Tori couldn't help but smile as she watched Jade from afar. Jade was beautiful, intelligent, funny and sweet… well when she wanted to be but if last night was anything to go by Jade was soon going to be her girlfriend. Tori knew it wasn't official yet or anything and she knew better than to call Jade her girlfriend before the goth had confirmed it but something inside her was telling her they'd be official really soon.

"I bring caffeine" Tori said cheerfully when she got back to their table.

"Yay!" Cat said.

"finally! Two sugars?" Jade asked. Tori nodded as she sat beside Jade. Jade took a sip of the coffee and Tori looked at her expectantly.

"Better?" Tori asked. Jade smiled.

"Much, thank you" Jade said.

"So did my master plan work?" Cat asked, wide eyed and smiling like the Cheshire cat.

"What master plan?" Tori asked.

"Well Trina mentioned that she tried to set Tori up with this cute guy called Nate but Tori said she had her eye on someone else and well I put two and two together" Cat explained.

"You are one devious little redhead, aren't you?" Tori asked. Jade and Cat both nodded.

"Yep, never underestimate Cat" Jade said, taking a long sip of her coffee and leaning back in her chair. "So how did you know I felt the same?" Jade asked.

"Jade. I've known you since we were kids… I know you" Cat explained.

"But you didn't say anything" Jade said.

"Come on Jade. You would have killed her!" Tori pointed out, Jade nodded in agreement.

"Yeah so what happens now?" Cat asked the pair expectantly. "Can I put matchmaker on my CV?" Cat asked. The two girls looked at each other and smiled but neither one of them really knew the answer.

"I think we have to have that conversation between us first" Tori said.

"Yeah, I mean last night was fun and I do really like Tori but there's a lot we need to figure out" Jade admitted.

The girls spent the rest of the day hanging out with Cat until Cat had to go home, it wasn't until three when Jade and Tori were finally alone and it seemed like a lifetime had passed since the awkwardness of their coffee break that morning. Tension was still heavy in the air.

"So we should uh probably talk" Tori stuttered. The brunette was really nervous and didn't really know how to conduct herself, despite the friendship they had developed whilst sharing their dorm it was still new territory to possibly be dating Jade and maybe the goth had been drinking more than Tori originally thought last night? So maybe it was all one sided?

"Yeah... maybe we should go on a date?" Jade suggested.

"A date?" Tori asked.

"Yes Vega, a date. I was thinking it would take the edge off and maybe we can talk about what we want?" Jade said.

"I can get behind that. Where do you want to go?" Tori asked.

"You just get ready, I'll sort out the wheres and whens" Jade said, winking at the Latina.

Half an hour later Tori returned wearing a purple short sleeved dress shirt, dark blue high-waisted jeans and black heels. Jade was wearing ripped jeans, black converse and a dark blue halter top. Tori and Jade looked at each other in amazement, they were both silently checking each other out.

"You look... wow!" Tori said, struggling to find an adjective that described how beautiful Jade was.

"So do you Vega" Jade said. "Shall we go?" Jade asked, holding out her arm to link with Tori's.

"I still want to know where you're taking me" Tori wondered aloud.

"That's for me to know, Vega" Jade said.

A/N: So Tori and Jade are now dating, almost. If you have any ideas on where they should go for there date. I've never been to New York (Although I'd love to) so I'm not 100% sure what options there are for dates. I have a vague idea already but if any of you have a better idea I'd love to hear it.
