Chapter One: The Books
Kagome hummed softly to herself as she walked down the aisle. Her brother Kazuo was in the clothing store across from her. They were both stocking up on food and supplies while in the modern era.
Kagome thought about why they were in the modern era while she grabbed the last couple of items that they would need before heading to the cash register. She paid for the food and smiled at the cashier before heading out of the store to stand in front of the clothing store. She hummed and thought about her argument with Inuyasha as she waited for Kazuo. She was so deep in thought she didn't hear someone walk up to her until they coughed to get her attention.
"Can I help you?" She asked the person trying to be nice. She couldn't tell if it was a man or a woman due to them wearing baggy clothes and having a hood on. "Are you Kagome Higurashi?" She heard him ask, she was assuming it was a man due to the bass voice they had. "Yes, that's me." She said uneasily, silently wondering how the man knew her.
"This belongs to you. Use them wisely" The man said handing her a dark brown leather voyager drawstring backpack. Looking down at the bag in her hand she wondered what he had meant by that. She looked up to ask him, but she blinked in surprise when she noticed he was gone. She could hear Kazuo walk out the store, but she was to busy looking around for the mysterious man to greet him.
"Are you looking for your stalker?" Kazuo said with a slight chuckle.
"Hojo is not a stalker." She said defending her friend.
"Sure he isn't." He replied with a grin. He looked down at her hands to see if she would need any help with her bags and noticed the backpack she was holding in her right hand. "Where'd you get the backpack?" He asked her as they started to walk back to the Shrine. "Some man gave it to me; he said it belonged to me and to use them wisely. Whatever them is." She said with a sigh at the end. "So we're accepting things from strangers now?" He said with a disbelief look on his food. "I know I know, but something in me told me to accept it. I can't explain it, but it felt like this bag is mine." She said looking at him hoping he would understand.
*Timeskip*
After putting everything up and making sure they would be ready to go back to the Feudal Era tomorrow, they decided to open the backpack and see what was inside. Opening it, they were confused on why there were so many books inside of it. While taking them out, Kazuo pointed out that they had names written in cursive on the front of them. Looking over each book they noticed two of them was theirs was the rest was of their friends in the Feudal Era.
Sango's book was a hot pink with her name written in black letters. On the back of the book was a book of Hiraikotsu, a silhouette of Kohaku with his scythe and Kilala.
Miroku's was a dark purple with his name written in black letters. On the back was a picture of his staff, with an older man that looked similar to him and Mushin.
Shippo's was forest green with his name written in turquoise. On the back was a picture of foxes surrounded by his Foxfire.
Inuyasha was a blood red with his name written in white. On the back of the picture was a picture of a transformed tetsusaiga tilted in the middle of the book with his demon half on one side facing one way and his human half upside down facing the other way.
Rin was a tangerine orange with her name written in yellow. On the back of the book were Ah-Un appearing to be looking around and Jaken sleeping leaning against him with his staff in his arms.
Koga's dark was brown with his name written in white letters. On the back of the book were silhouettes of wolves.
Ayame's was white with her name written in green letters. On the back of the book were cherry blossoms and white wolves.
Sesshomaru's was a dark blue with his name written in silver letters. On the back was a picture of three dog demons in their true form one they could tell was him, the other two they assumed were his parents due to how similar they looked to him.
Kazuo's book was a navy blue with his name written in black letters. On the back was a picture of Bankotsu's halberd tilted in the middle of the book with a silhouette of Bankotsu on one side facing one way and a silhouette of him on the other upside down facing the other way.
What threw them off the most was Kagome's book was hunter green with her name written in white letters. On the back was a Midoriko with the jewel floating above the palms of her hands.
Looking at each other, they decided they would go to the Feudal Era earlier than they had planned.
