Chapter Seven:

The next morning the group woke up and got ready to leave like they normally would, although there was a slight tension between Miroku, Sango, and Kazuo that went unnoticed by Kazuo. Kagome and Inuyasha assumed it was because they had woken up to Sango in Kazuo's sleeping bag cuddled close to them.

"I hope it doesn't stay tense between them all day." Kagome softly told Inuyasha. She watched as he shrugged and put his hands behind his head. "Who knows, it might stop before we know it," Inuyasha said casually as the group began to walk.

Kagome walked in the front next to Inuyasha with Shippo on her shoulder. She glanced back and saw that Sango was walking a little bit behind them with Kilala in her arms and Mirou was beside her. Behind them was Kazuo who looked like he was deep in thought.

'I wonder what he's thinking about is it Sango or the book? Does he like Sango as more than a friend? That can't be it he would've told me if he did. He tells me everything .. doesn't he?' She wondered before she turned around and faced forward. 'Maybe he keeps somethings a secret too.' She thought thinking about the dreams she had been getting about Midoriko. She continued to think about the dreams and was so deep in thought that she missed the concerned looks Inuyasha and Shippo were giving her.

~ With Kazuo ~

Kazuo looked ahead at everyone and noticed that Kagome, Sango, and Mirou appeared to be thinking while Inuyasha and Shippo were quietly talking. 'Today's probably gonna be one of those days where almost everyone's in their own worlds.' He thought with a sigh before he stifled a yawn.

'I wonder if we're going to pass through a village today, it's been a while since we have.' He thought before he looked at Sango and Miroku. 'Well, they seem to be on a better note.' He thought with a smile before he frowned. 'Sango avoided me this morning, I wonder what I did. Hopefully, I didn't do anything last night, all I remember is having another dream about Bankotsu's memories of Emiko.' He thought before he remembered his dream.

Emiko was a fire demon with a fiery temper. She had blood red hair that was up to her waist and gold eyes that reminded him of fire sparks. She had tan skin from being in the sun for so long, and she wore tight bandages around her chest as a top and hunter green hakama, with no shoes. 'I wonder if she's still alive, probably since for them it's only been fifteen years since Bankotsu died.'
