So I wasn't going to be updating today. I was supposed to be updating 'Never Two Late' but I'm having a serious case of writers block for that story. I've re-written the 3rd chapter about 3-4 times now and it just doesn't come out right. Hope you enjoy the chapter that I can write though. :-) LOL

Starts as Percabeth, will eventually be Percy x Apollo.

Important thing to note... This will be yaoi (boy-boy). Don't like? You do not have to read.

Disclaimer- I do not own Percy Jackson and the Olympians or the Heroes of Olympus series. (One can dream though) All rights go to the proper parties.

November 20th

Percy POV

I was relaxing on the banks of the Little Tiber. I wasn't certain as to where Apollo had gone. We had reached the shore and then he had disappeared saying that he needed to go get something. I hadn't been interested enough to ask what it was.

I was feeling more than a little depressed about Annabeth ditching again. I had been very excited when she and Jason had joined Apollo and me for lunch. I had only been able to have a handful of meals with her since I had gotten to New Rome. I knew that their work was important but at the same time, I missed being able to hang out with my girlfriend.

I was lost in my thoughts and so I was caught off guard by a sudden explosion of water against my back. I jumped up, sputtering in surprise. I heard exuberant laughter. I turned around to see Apollo with one hand clutching his stomach and his other hand holding a water balloon. I looked at his feet and saw two buckets filled with extra projectiles.

I felt a smile spread across my face. Before he could gain control of his laughter, I summoned a jet of water and hit the god straight in the face. He fell to the ground and ended up exploding the balloon he was holding against his own leg.

He looked at me and tried to glare, though the effect was ruined by his smile, "Perseus Jackson, this means war."

He grabbed another balloon. Before I could dodge, the balloon exploded against my chest. I allowed the water to soak my clothes as getting wet is half the fun of a water fight.

I may have been the son of Poseidon, but Apollo was an expert sniper. For every blast of water I hit him with, he nailed me with a balloon. It wasn't long before a few of the visiting Greek campers showed up with balloons of their own; we even had some Romans join in. It rapidly evolved into the biggest water balloon fight to probably ever hit New Rome.

We quickly formed teams, me on one team and Apollo on the other. The Romans were really good about strategy to soak our opponents but the Greeks were just as likely hit their friends as they were to hit the opposing team.

I will shamefully admit that I was no exception to the Greek disorder...

I collapsed on the banks of the river an hour later, soaked to the bone and happier than I had been in a long time. Apollo dropped down next to me a moment later. I turned my head to grin at the god of the sun.

He was already facing me with an answering smile, "So I take it you had a blast?"

I chuckled and looked back up at the sky. "Definitely, I can't remember the last time I had that much fun."

The god of music laughed. "I know what you mean. I'm glad that you had a good time, even if you lost."

I scoffed and gave him a disbelieving look, "I'm the son of Poseidon. It was a water fight. I did not lose."

"Yes you did. I hit you at least twice as often as you hit me."

"Ya right."

Apollo winked at me, "Ya, I am right."

I raised one eyebrow at the lame come back and smirked at the god beside me. He just had time to give me a worried look before a giant wave rose out of the river and flooded the bank we were lying on. As the water retreated, he sat up sputtering.

"Sorry, who did you say won?"

The god of the sun glared at me but the effect was ruined by his laughter, "Definitely me."

Apollo POV

It had absolutely been worth the effort of finding and carrying the buckets of balloons down to the river. I was soaked to the bone, covered in mud, and freezing, but I couldn't remember the last time I had enjoyed myself so much. Percy looked happier than I had ever seen him.

I was very glad that I had been able to cheer him up. The happy Percy was far more fun than the moping one.

One glance at Percy told me exactly how I must look. His clothes were completely soaked and he had mud all over his face, arms, legs, and back. I had a feeling that most of the dirt and mud were from Percy's last wave.

Usually, I would have been self conscious about my appearance. I was, after all, the hottest god on Olympus. Being seen walking the streets while looking like the creature from the black lagoon was definitely a first. However Percy kept me from caring too much.

Every time the son of Poseidon saw someone giving us a funny look he turned to them with a big smile and waved like there was nothing wrong. The looks of absolute shock and embarrassment for being caught staring were hilarious. Their reactions were so priceless that I found myself joining in on his game.

By the time we reached my apartment, our sides were hurting from laughing so much.

"You know, I haven't had this much fun since Hermes and I stole all of Aphrodite's make-up."

The young god started laughing even harder, "I'm surprised that she didn't kill you."

I smiled, "I was immortal remember? She couldn't."

"So you're telling me she didn't retaliate? I find that hard to believe."

"I didn't say that either. She cursed both of us to 100 years of bad breath and hair. She also spent the next century making sure every person who caught our eye had absolutely no interest in us."

Percy shook his head in amusement. "That must have sucked."

I winced, "Ya. Needless to say, we never did that again."

"I would have paid to see her reaction though."

I chuckled at the memory, "Her reaction was almost worth it."

The two of us lapsed into a comfortable silence, both of us consumed with our thoughts. I wanted to hang out with Percy for a bit longer but I also was in desperate need of a shower. I was tempted to ask him to hang out again later. Before I could ask though, he spoke.

"Do you want to come over to the house for dinner?"

I felt my eyes widen in surprise. I had never actually been invited over to his house before. We usually hung out at my apartment or someplace else in New Rome. "Are you sure the others won't mind?"

The son of Poseidon shook his head "Nah, they won't care."

I nodded, "Okay."

The young god flashed me a bright smile. "Alright, go clean up and come over when you're done." Percy tossed me a quick wave as he started walking away. "I'll see you soon."

Percy POV

I was lucky that neither Jason nor Annabeth were downstairs when I got home. Considering how muddy I was, I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to make me hose off in the yard.

It took me a good twenty minutes to get all of the mud out of my hair. Outdoor water fights were the best, but cleaning up afterwards sucked. I had just put on clean clothes and was coming down the stairs when I heard a knock at the door.

I opened it and smiled at the sun god standing on my porch. "Good timing."

I stepped aside so that Apollo could enter. The god flashed me a smile, "You look worlds better. I must admit, mud masks don't suit you."

I laughed and rolled my eyes. "And they look so good on you?"

The god of the sun winked at me. "Of course they do, everything looks good on me."

I shut the door and gestured for him to follow me. "I hope that everything includes an apron because I'm on cooking duty today and you're going to help me."

I had expected him to complain but all he did was raise an eyebrow before following me into the kitchen. As I dug the ingredients out of the fridge, Apollo was looking around. I could see how curious he was. It confused me for a second before I remembered that he had never been over before. I always went over to his house.

I winced and flashed him a guilty look. We had hung out every day for over two weeks and it had never even occurred to me to invite him over. "I'm sorry. I completely forgot you've never been here before. Make you a deal, help me cook and I will give you the grand tour after dinner."

"Sounds fair, what do you need me to do first?"

I passed him a few peppers. "Wash these and then cut them up into cubes."

Apollo took the offered veggies and headed to the sink. I had a momentary flash of incredulity as I realized that there was a Greek god helping me prepare dinner. I couldn't stop the bubble of laughter that escaped me as I threw the meat into a pan.

"What`s so funny?"

I looked over my shoulder at him and shook my head. "Just realizing how strange it is that I have god of the sun helping me make a stir-fry. I can honestly say that a year ago, I would never have seen this happening."

Apollo chuckled, "That makes two of us, and I'm the god of prophecy."

We finished cooking fairly quickly. The two of us worked well together. Just as it finished, Jason and Annabeth came downstairs, attracted to the smell of food.

The son of Jupiter walked into the room ahead of Annabeth. "It smells pretty good. I take it you did most of the cooking then Fred?"

I scoffed, "Hey, I'm a good cook."

Annabeth joined in on the teasing, "Sure you are. But if you had it your way, we'd be having blue food every day."

I stuck my tongue out at the daughter of Athena. I heard the god of the sun laugh. Before I could come to my own defense, Apollo spoke. "Percy actually did most of the cooking. I just helped a bit."

Jason chuckled as he went to take his seat, "Don't worry Fred. We know that he can cook. We just like teasing him."

Everyone piled the food on their plates but I was the only one who had a side of ambrosia. I could see Apollo casting wistful glances at the godly food but, with Annabeth and Jason present, I couldn't give him a piece. Demigods didn't just eat godly food for fun. It was an emergency medical provision.

I still hadn't completely figured out what I was going to do about getting more once the container that Artemis had given me ran out. Ambrosia was not something that I could pick up at the grocery store. I'll have to ask Apollo sometime...

It was really nice for the four of us to have dinner together. Most nights Jason and Annabeth either just grabbed their food and headed back to the office or came down late at night to quickly eat before they headed to bed.

Apollo helped me bring the dishes to the kitchen but he drew the line at washing them. I didn't really feel like doing them right away so I left them in the sink while I gave him the tour. I showed him the main floor before we headed upstairs. When I showed him Annabeth's office, his eyes bulged a little. I could practically hear the thoughts running through his head.

As soon as the door was closed, he looked at me and shook his head. "It looks like a bomb went off in there."

I laughed as I lead him down the hallway to my room. "I know what you mean, but don't let her hear you say that. It always gets like that when she's in the middle of a project, which is funny considering she's usually a neat freak."

I opened my bedroom door and Apollo started to laugh. "I don't think that you can say anything about her habits. You don't look like you've unpacked a thing."

I shrugged and sent him a sheepish look. "What can I say? I kept meaning to do it but I reached a point where I decided that, if I hadn't needed it yet, I didn't need to unpack it."

The god of the sun raised an eyebrow and shook his head. "I think you're missing the point of unpacking. It's to make a make a place feel more like home."

"This isn't home though. This is just a place I'm living right now."

"And you have no problem living out of boxes?"

"None at all."

The god of music gave me a look I couldn't decipher before he shrugged and plopped down on my bed.

I always lost track of the time spent with Apollo. Before I knew it, Annabeth was knocking on my door to say goodnight. Apollo left soon after.

I got ready and collapsed into bed. I had ended up having a great day. I may not be able to spend much time with my girlfriend, but I was immensely thankful for being able to spend time with Apollo. I really did enjoy his company.
