Apollo POV

"Seriously Perce, how have you never seen Star Wars?"

"I don't see why it's such a big deal."

I gave him a look of disbelief. "It's a classic. It's widely considered one of the greatest sagas ever made. Besides, the sound track is amazing."

The young god shrugged. "It still doesn't sound that great."

"I don't care if you don't want to see it. You picked the movie the last time it rained. It's my turn to pick so therefore, we are watching Star Wars."

Judging by his pout he wasn't completely sold on the idea, but he really needed to see that there were other movies besides cartoons. I put in the movie and took my seat on the bed beside him.

I was enjoying it, but I should have known that the silence was too good to last.

"I can't believe how bad the graphics are. This movie was made like a hundred years ago."

"It was released in 1977. That's hardly a century."

"It's still incredibly old."

I raised one eyebrow. "If a movie made in the late 70's is old, what exactly does that make me?"

The son of Poseidon gave me a playful smirk, "Ancient and decrepit?" I would have been offended if I hadn't known he meant it as a joke. Instead I just rolled my eyes but before I could respond by telling him once again how awesome we both know I am, he cut me off. "Wait a second. Is that... blue milk?"

I looked back at the screen in time to see Luke pouring himself a cup of Bantha milk. I turned back to the son of the sea god, only to see him now watching the screen with rapt attention.

I raised one eyebrow, "Really Perce? You're not interested in one of the greatest movies ever made. Then you discover it has blue milk and you're hooked?"

"Anything that has blue food in it has to be half way decent."

I'm fairly certain the entire apartment building heard me laugh.

Percy POV

Though I would never say it out loud, it was actually a pretty good movie. I just refused to admit it because Apollo had tried to convince me that I'd love it. He didn't need a bigger ego. Besides, he would never let me hear the end of it if I told him he was right. Though he probably knew anyway considering the fact that I just agreed to a marathon of the remaining movies...

"Okay, so we have the snacks, the pop, do we need anything else?"

I shook my head and flopped back down on his bed. "Not that I can think of."

"Alright," He flashed me a blinding smile. "Let's get this marathon started."

As he went to put the next movie in, I helped myself to a bag of jelly beans. I couldn't help but smile at the cerulean coloured candy. "I seem to have really affected your shopping habits. There's definitely a lot more blue food here than in the average house."

"Oh! That's right, I almost forgot." Before I could ask what he was talking about, he was down the hall. I didn't have time to do much more that shrug and eat another couple jelly beans before he was back. "Since you have finally had the honour of being introduced to the wondrous marvel that is Star Wars, I have a gift for you."

I watched as the god of the sun pulled a jug out from behind his back. I blinked in surprise before I started laughing, "Blue milk!"

He chuckled and passed me one of the empty cups he was carrying, "I figured you'd like it."

I poured myself a cup of the dyed milk while he went to hit play. "Have I mentioned that you're the best?"

He gave me a wink as he took his spot beside me. "Not in so many words, but I already knew that anyway."

I rolled my eyes but as I took a sip of the blue milk he'd made for me, I couldn't deny that it was the truth.

I will admit after 10 solid hours of movies, Apollo suggestion of changing into our pajamas at the beginning made a lot more sense than it had originally. We weren't even done yet, we'd only watched the first 4.

We had stopped the movie while Apollo went to grab the pizza from the delivery man. I took advantage of the brief intermission to stretch. Even though Apollo's bed was ridiculously comfortable, I was not accustomed to not moving around for so long.

The god of the sun came back in with a bright smile and placed the pizza box on the bed with a flourish. "Ta da, one pepperoni pizza."

I snickered at his actions. I often forgot that he was the god of the arts too. I opened the box and grabbed a slice of cheesy-goodness while the son of Zeus switched movies.

I winced as I thought about how many hours we still had left, "You know, I think that maybe this is too many movies for one sitting."

The sun god frowned but nodded. "We'll have to remember that for next time. Did you want to save the rest for another day?"

I tilted my head as I thought about it. I was getting rather antsy from sitting still for so long, but at the same time I was having a blast. Pizza, movies, and blue food was practically my perfect day.

I smiled at the son of Leto and shook my head. "Nah, let's keep going."

Apollo hit play and grabbed a slice of pizza, "Alright. Attack of the Clones, here we come."

By the time we started the final movie of our marathon, my attention was really beginning to waver. I was also extremely exhausted. Whenever I spent a day doing nothing, I was always more worn out than when I spent the day training. So I chose to blame my weird behaviour on the fact that I was only half awake.

At some point in the last few hours we had moved around so that I was sitting cross legged against the headboard with Apollo laid across the bed in front of my knees, his head supported on one hand.

Rather than fighting to read the words that were floating through space announcing the plot of the final movie, I was watching the god of the sun or, more specifically, his hair. I had always been fascinated by playing with Annabeth's hair. Her long blonde locks were fun to mess with, but she never liked me doing it. She always told me it distracted her from whatever it was she was doing at the time, usually reading.

Even though both of their hair would be classified as blonde, it wasn't the same. Annabeth's hair was the colour of a golden wheat field. Apollo's reminded me of sunshine and beaches. The glow from the yellow letters on the screen made it look even more golden than usual. It almost looked metallic in the current light. I didn't really think about what I was doing when I reached out to pick up a lock. I turned it from side to side so that I could watch the light paint a golden sheen across it.

It wasn't until the god of poetry tensed that I really realized what I was doing. Rather than doing the smart thing and removing my hand from his hair, I froze.

Neither of us moved for almost a full minute. I was desperately trying to come up with some way to explain or, at least, apologize. Before I could find the words I needed though, he moved his head. Enough so that he could see me, but not enough to pull his hair from my hand.

I think he could tell that I really hadn't meant for it to be as weird as it suddenly seemed.

"You don't have to stop Perce. I don't mind." With that said, he then turned back to the television like nothing unusual had happened; as if I didn't still have my fingers tangled in his hair.

He may have been okay with it, but that didn't mean I was. I had no idea what I was feeling, beyond the overwhelming embarrassment. My brain was telling me to quit being weird and let go. Apollo was my best friend. Friends did NOT run their fingers through each other's hair. At the same time though, I found myself not really wanting too.

I enjoyed playing with people's hair. I used to mess with my mom's hair too when I was little, before she married Gabe. If Apollo really didn't mind, then maybe it wouldn't be as weird as it seemed. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that the only real reason I was hesitating was because we were both guys. I frowned. That wasn't a good enough reason not to do something.

Decision made, I bit my lip and moved closer to the son of Leto. I finally released my hold and hesitantly ran my fingers through the chin length waves. I was surprised by how soft it was. I repeated the action a few more times, enjoying the feel of the silky strand running between my fingers. I twined some of the hair through my fingers so that I could watch the light dance across it.

I would be lying if I said that it wasn't pleasant. I smiled as I went back to running my fingers through it once more. It may have been a little weird, but it was strange in a good way. Besides, it was Apollo. A lot of the things we did together weren't exactly normal for friends to do, but that didn't mean I enjoyed it any less. What's more, the longer I played with his hair the less unusual it seemed.

I was rather surprised when I realized that any embarrassment I had felt earlier had disappeared. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that I wasn't feeling any awkwardness either. It felt almost... natural. I wasn't experiencing any of the negative emotions that I would have expected. The only thing I couldn't figure out was why my heart was beating so fast...

Authors Note

I have no doubt that Percy would be a Star Wars fan simply because of the blue milk. Speaking of Star Wars... I trust that I am not the only one who is dying of excitement for THE FORCE AWAKENS! I don't think I've ever been this excited for anything. I can only hope it lives up to my expectations.

On a more Percy Jackson related note... did anyone read the excerpt from the Hidden Oracle? Apollo goes to see Percy and I quote... 'He had the same sea-green eyes, the same dark tousled hair, the same handsome features...' Definitive proof that Apollo thinks Percy is hot. ;-) It kinda made my day. Do you know what the best part about the cover art that was revealed is? The fact it says 'Book 1', which means we know there's going to be more!

"I watched as the brown haired girl flirted with the god of the sun. I wasn't sure why it was suddenly bothering me so much. I had seen him flirt with tons of other people, so why was she different?..."
