Aphrodite POV
"APHRODITE!"
I sighed at the interruption but I stopped watching what would soon be my newest couple, and put down my mirror. "Yes?"
The king of the gods didn't look very impressed by my attitude, but I didn't really care. If he didn't want me to be snippy, then he shouldn't have interrupted me.
"Perhaps you've forgotten, but we're in the middle of a council meeting here."
I couldn't help but roll my eyes. I just didn't want to listen to him today. I had other, far more important, matters on my mind. "Oh I know. I just have better things to do."
The goddess of the hunt snorted. I turned and gave her a glare. Just because the most important thing she ever did was chase a deer, didn't mean the rest of us didn't have things that needed to be done.
Before I could tell her exactly what I was thinking though, I was interrupted. "REMEMBER YOUR PLACE GIRL! I am the king of the gods; you will speak to me with respect!"
I knew for a fact I wasn't the only one who rolled my eyes at that one and, judging by his complexion, Zeus did too.
If he started on that, we'd never get to leave. "Oh can we just go already? I have something else I need to be doing. I've been planning this couple for ages!"
Poseidon sat forward in his throne, looking interested for the first time since the meeting began, "So it's a new couple then? I figured you must have had something big planned. You've been more giggly than normal."
I frowned slightly in confusion, "What are you talking about?"
He chuckled. "The way you've been acting lately. It wasn't hard to guess that something was up. I haven't seen you this excited about anything since Shakespeare wrote Romeo and Juliet."
I smiled at the memory. "That was his best work." I shook of the thought and came back to the present. "This however, is going to be some of my best."
By now I had most of the council's attention.
"So do we get to know who the couple is?"
I contemplated the wine god's request for a moment before I shook my head, "No, not yet. I'm going to let them figure things out before I stir it up."
By now even Ares looked interested; though that was probably just because he knew I would be mad if he didn't. "That's not really like you. So if you're not stirring up trouble, what are you waiting for?"
"If I'm right about this..." I smile, "And I always am. They should be sharing their first kiss in a few minutes. So if we could end this meeting now, that would be lovely."
The goddess of wisdom sighed, "And let me guess, if we don't you're going to throw a fit?"
I shrugged, "Probably."
It was Hera's turn to sigh. "Very well, consider this meeting adjourned."
I squeaked and grabbed my mirror before flashing out, but I still wasn't quite quick enough to avoid the thunder god voicing his complaints.
"How dare you dismiss the council! I am the one..."
Poseidon had clearly had enough too. "Oh, shut up brother."
I giggled, the mortals would definitely be having some bad weather tonight...

I walked through the garden around my palace. Rose bushes and myrtle grew along the paths, interspaced with statures of me. Each statue of mine wore a different face, but all of them were beautiful. At the very center of my garden was a fountain made of pink marble. The center was a giant shell, to symbolize my birth from the waves. It had always been a favorite of mine. One of my chosen descendents had even built a replica of it in a park in New Rome. I sat down at the edge of my fountain, drawing my fingers through the ripples caused by the falling water.
I disliked trying to waste time, but I currently had no choice. I had never been a very patient goddess. I could be when the situation called for it, but love was fiery passion far more often than it was a slow burn. The only thing that allowed me to wait right now was the knowledge that a slow burn, properly fanned, could last through the ages.
I drew my hand across the water, causing an image to appear. I was keeping an eye on my latest project. It was almost time. I just had to wait for the younger one to sort out his thoughts. While I waited, I watched the green-eyed boy. He was certainly an attractive one, not that the blue eyed man wasn't of course. Still, there was something about that one. If it wasn't for the fact that I had been searching for someone who could hold the blonds attention for eons, I would have had to claim the son of Poseidon for myself. As it was though, no matter how attractive he was, he would never be to me what he could be to the son of Leto. It was too late to change the course of their relationship now anyway. Besides, Apollo tended to hold grudges.
I decided to look in on the son of Zeus. I was more than a little surprised when I saw what he was up too, but that didn't stop me from clutching my hands under my chin and cooing. I couldn't believe that he was asking Percy's mother for permission! Who knew that Apollo could be such a proper little gentleman? I would have to remember that.
It felt like eternity before Percy finally returned to the apartment. When they started talking though, I felt like throwing myself to the ground.
"COME ON ALREADY! JUST GET TOGETHER!"
I gasped and leaned even closer to my fountain when Apollo walked over and wrapped his arm around the son of the sea god. "Come on... kiss him."
I bit my lip. I knew what was coming, but that didn't mean I was any less excited when that truly terrible poem came out of Apollo's mouth. I was even more excited when Percy FINALLY kissed him.
"YES, YES, YES, YES!" I jumped up and started doing a happy dance. I made a few rounds of the fountain before I fell to the ground giggling. I threw my arms out and looked up at the sky, "Finally!"

Authors Note
So I have wanted to write a chapter from Aphrodite's POV for a long time. After thinking about it, I decided now was the perfect time. I should be posting the extra make-up chapter (the one that uses the sneak peak) on Saturday morning.
Random thought... if Aphrodite looks like everyone that you ever had a crush on, does that mean if Severus Snape ever met her she would look only like Lily?
Next update will be January 17th
Next Chapter:
I felt my heart starting to beat faster. It hadn't been a dream. I walked over the son of Poseidon and finally gave in to the urge to wrap my arms around him. I nuzzled my face into his neck and smiled. "Good morning beautiful..."
