Aphrodite's POV

I frowned as I looked into the fountain before me. I was not pleased by this turn of events. I hadn't expected Apollo to go against his fathers orders. I suppose I should have since Percy was so loyal to his friends. This oversight was costing me dearly. I had put way too much effort into their relationship to let them mess it up now.

The tension between them wasn't nearly enough to cause a rift in their carefully woven love story, but it was a snag. My daughter was still attempting to sooth their friends, but it still hurt the son of Poseidon that they weren't as accepting of Apollo as they were Fred. That lead to Percy attempting to be overly accepting and refusing to leave the sun gods side, which lead to the son of Leto feeling crowded and missing the way things used to be. The former god wasn't used to being smothered in affection. Once some of those demigods calmed down, I was sure they would go back to normal. Till then though...

I sighed as I watched the son of Ares leave as soon as Apollo and Percy entered the arena. The slight flash of hurt from the former god didn't go unnoticed by the young sea god and his scowl deepened.

I shook my head. If they didn't get this issue with his friends sorted out soon, the whole timeline would be thrown off. I worked way too hard on their relationship to let something as pesky as a secret identity mess it up.

I tapped my finger on my chin as I tried to think of a way to hurry this along. I felt Ares wrap his arms around my waist and I shook my head.

"Not now darling, I'm trying to think."

The god of war snorted in a highly unattractive manner. "You're thinking?" I narrowed my eyes dangerously and turned to look at him. He suddenly seemed to realize what he had just said. "Ummm, I didn't mean it like that baby. I just meant... what about?"

I didn't believe him for a moment but I didn't care. I would get my revenge next time he went chasing after a particularly delectable mortal.

"I am having a slight issue with the new couple I told the council about."

It took him a minute to remember what I was talking about. "Oh that one. Wanna tell me who it is yet?"

I shook my head. "No, that will come to light in time, but unless I solve this issue quickly, it won't come to light at the proper time." I gave him a smile tinted with mischief. "You know how I feel about dramatic reveals."

Ares shrugged carelessly. "Just throw them a few monsters at them and watch them tear the mortals apart. It'll be fun to watch and then if one survives you get a heartbroken lover. I know you like those."

I tilted my head. I had no intention of killing either of them, not the least since Apollo was the only one who could die and I didn't feel like dealing with his sister and her little band of idiots. However that didn't mean that his idea was completely without merit.

Life threatening situations had a way of strengthening relationships, and I was pretty sure I had just the thing for them.

I pulled out of his embrace. "You may be onto something."

"Oh come on baby, where are you going? I thought we could go have some fun, I just found a new hotel in Florida dedicated to you."

"Later darling, I have plans to make."

With that, I flashed out.

I know this is a highly unsatisfactory length, especially after so long. But the chapter I wanted to put here wasn't working, so I thought I'd use a meddling goddess of love to accomplish the same thing.

Also, as you may notice a large increase in spelling and grammatical errors, I have lost all access to the computer I used to write on. (Which was the main reason for the long hiatus) The original plan was to wait till I could buy my own, but I've missed writing. So I'll be writing my stories on my phone without spell check for the foreseeable future.
