Hey guys I am in fact back writing. I really hope to be pretty consisted once or twice a week with the updates. I am so glad people remember and are still interested in this story. I am going to try and bring in some storylines from the show but have them play out differently seeing as how Jane and Frankie aren't detectives and Maura isn't a doctor yet. I hope you all enjoy! (I didn't get a chance to proof this yet I hope to make corrections tonight so be gentle :) )

It hadn't been an easy conversation, but Frankie and Jane told their mom they were getting a place together. It pulled at their heart strings seeing how upset she was over the news Frankie was leaving home a year early. However, Jane explained that Frankie would probably be drafted this year and he needed to figure out how to live on his own. Living with Jane would provide Frankie the chance to see what it was like on his own while still being close enough to family to depend on if he needed help. Eventually Angela agreed under the condition they both came home for Sunday dinners.

While the Rizzoli children where settling into their new home, Maura was on a mission of her own. She didn't want to pry into Jane's life but something was clearly going on with her. She had been friends with Jane on some social media sites and started by scrolling through her posts. She couldn't help but smile looking at through all the pictures of Jane through her first year of college. Jane seemed to posted regularly until August. Something happened around that time that caused Jane to return home.

"Ok so she went to UConn let's just try 'Jane Rizzoli UConn,'" Maura said thinking out loud as she typed into a Google search box.

Maura scrolled through the first couple links that were Jane's social media pages. The next couple were for some events and sports she was involved in with the school. Maura sighed knowing she would have to try a different search.

"Hmm ok how about 'UConn Student Injured,'" Maura typed thinking maybe that might bring something up.

Maura scrolled through a couple links that time frames didn't jive with the timeline for Jane's injuries or situation. A couple articles mentioned the injured students name and Maura could easily disqualify them. She was about to try a different search when an article caught her eye.

"Professor Arrested for Stalking Attack."

Maura almost didn't want to click on the link, but the date of the article matched the timeline of Jane returning home. This couldn't be about Jane right? Someone attacked her and she hadn't told anyone about it; Maura couldn't imagine going through something like this alone.

"University of Connecticut police say they have charged a professor with felony stalking, assault and kidnapping of a university student. Police said Friday that 56-year-old Charles Hoyt of Atlanta, Georgia was arrested after police concluded their week long investigation.

Hoyt, a professor of forensic pathology, was charge with one count felony stalking, two counts of cyber stalking, four counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and two counts of unlawful imprisonment. Police say Hoyt sent repeated elevating threatening emails, followed the victim around campus including student housing and restrained the victim in the basement of an academic building on campus.

According to the complaint, the woman told police that the defendant had restrained her over the past 24 hours following an argument, struck her with broken wooden chair legs, and shocked her with a Taser-style device. She told police that the man also punched her and choked her with his hands and cut her with a blade similar to a scalpel.

Police say the victim was able to escape when the professor went upstairs to teach a class. The women went to the on-campus police who took her to the medical center for evaluations. The students name is being withheld at this time."

Maura read each line more horrified than the last. It wasn't certain that this was Jane as the student's name was withheld but all signs were pointing to it.

"I can't believe this…who would do this to a person," Maura wondered aloud as she started doing searches for Charles Hoyt.

It wasn't until almost an hour later when Maura's phone buzzed did she realize the rabbit hole she fell down searching for more information. Frankie had texted her wanting to meet at the bakery. Needing to get away from this computer and the information running through her head Maura quickly agreed.

"Hey Maura," Jane greeted seeing the blonde walking into the bakery.

"Jane…um hi," she said unprepared to see the older Rizzoli.

"Is everything?"

"Huh oh yeah sorry Frankie texted me and wanted to meet here."

"And naturally he is running late. Here on the house," Jane said sliding her a Chi tea.

"Oh Jane I can't please let me pay…

"I will have no such thing you let me mooch off you and sleep on your boat. There is no way I am letting you pay for a cup of tea."

"Well, thank you," Maura said knowing there was no winning this argument.

"No, problem. Frankie shouldn't be too much longer now. I am surprised you're not home studying…or have you bagged that crazy idea of going to med school?"

"No," Maura laughed. "I have actually been on my computer for the past couple hours I definitely needed a break before my head exploded."

Maura wasn't totally lying but she certainly was not forth coming either. Jane just chuckled at the young girl's dedication to her studies.

"Better you than me but if you ever need a break I am usually here or at the Robber."

"Thanks I will remember that."

"How is school coming along? You hear anything back from…Harvard," Jane said comically looking around to make sure no one was listening like it was a top secret information.

"Oh no not yet, I won't hear anything for at least another month, but I should know by Thanksgiving."

"That's cool. I know Frankie is probably going to get drafted but please try and get him to apply to a couple places."

"Oh I am on top of that trust me. I am pretty sure he wants to jump off a cliff every time I mention college but he doesn't have to go pro right?"

"He doesn't have to, no. However, if he decides to go to college he has to stay until he is a junior and I don't think he wants that."

"What if he gets drafted by the Yankees," Maura said knowing they were bitter rivals of the Red Sox?

"Ugh vomit," Jane said showing physical signs of illness. "But I will buy one and only one Yankee jersey and will cheer for one and only one Yankee player. Really I will be excited wherever he gets drafted I just hopes it's not the west coast. I want to see him play."

"Maybe I should get his autograph now before he forgets all the little people," Maura laughed.

"Good idea," Jane joined in.

"How is the new place coming along?"

"Great we have a couch," Jane said pretty excited about that.

"Well, that's an improvement," Maura laughed.

"Hell yeah we pretty much have a full living room now. We picked up a little table for the dining room…it only seats two people but we don't need anything more than that."

"Its great Jane I can't wait to see it."

"Ah its nothing to impressive," Jane said knowing it was really nothing compared to what Maura was used to.

"Hey, don't put yourself or your place down…. what you have done on your own is very impressive. There is no way I could have done that."

"Thanks," Jane said a little pride bubbling inside her.

"Hey sorry I am late," Frankie said bursting into the bakery.

"No problem I was just catching up with Jane."

"Now, I am really sorry I was late," Frankie smirked at his sister.

"There is one coffee I am spiting in," Jane shot back.

"Ew gross."

"Then you better be nice."

"Ok, ok you win."

While Jane was working, Maura and Frankie hung out keeping Jane entertained in-between customers. Jane had to admit she really liked having Maura around. She was nice to talk to and made her forget about the other craziness going on in her life. Maura tried to stay in the present but her mind kept drifting to Jane and the article she read. She really hoped she could talk about this with Jane but she didn't know how to start that conversation. She did know she would have to tread carefully as Jane was a fiercely independent and proud individual.
