Man I really don't know how I feel about this chapter but I hope you all like it. One secret is out one left to go. Let me know what you think
"You know," Jane said kissing Maura's neck as they were laying in Maura's bed, "I kinda like that your parents are out of town," she continued trailing her kisses up to Maura's lips.
Maura couldn't help but chuckle as Janes hair tickled her cheek.
"Oh yeah and why is that," she smiled as she tucked the dark locks behind her girlfriend's ear?
"So I can do this," Jane said missing her again this time more passionate.
The two had been dating for a couple weeks now and were getting closer daily. They were still keeping it to themselves but they decided tonight they needed to tell Frankie. The closer the two girls got the harder it was to hide the glances and touches. Neither wanted him to find out any other way other than them telling him.
"You can do that even if my parents were here…you have your own place," she smiled leaning up to kiss her again.
"Well, after tonight you can spend the night any time you want."
"Yeah," Maura said softly.
Jane could tell Maura was nervous about how tonight was going to go. Jane rolled off her girlfriend and gathered her in her arms.
"Maura I will be there right next to you the whole time."
"No, this is something I have to do by myself. He has been my best friend my whole life."
"And he has been my brother my whole life," Jane countered with a smile.
"It's different."
"I know. Just call me if you need me or call me after or maybe it is just better if I stay," Jane said starting to squirm.
"I will be fine….we will be fine….we all will be fine…eventually."
Jane took a deep breath and sighed.
"All right, I trust you," Jane said kissing her again.
"Hmm as much as I would love to stay here and keep kissing you….Frankie will be here soon and you need to not be."
"Are you sure I can't persuade you otherwise," Jane asked kissing her again pulling her close?
After a few minutes of kissing Maura broke the kiss which Jane continue that assault on her neck.
"Jane please," Maura asked losing her will to say no.
"Ok, ok I'll be good," Jane said sliding off the bed.
"Thank you…I will call you later now scoot," Maura said slapping Jane on the butt on the way out.
"Feisty," Jane smirked.
Frankie arrived at Maura's house later that evening. On her prompting Frankie actually used the front door.
"We hanging out down here tonight," Frankie asked as it was a little unusual to be staying in the more formal living room.
"Um yeah for a little while anyway. You hungry? Thirsty," Maura asked heading to the kitchen.
"No I'm cool maybe we can order a pizza later."
"Yeah…yeah that would be good."
"Maura are you ok," Frankie asked seeing she was a little jumpy?
"Me? I am fine."
"Ok, so what movie are we watching?"
"Movie? Oh um I don't know."
"Maura, really what's going on?"
"I…I need to tell you something."
"Ok, what's up?"
"I'm dating someone."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"Who is it? For how long? I haven't noticed anyone around. Is that what this is about…are you ok?"
"I'm fine…I'm great actually. We have been going out for a couple weeks…you know just getting to know each other seeing if it is something real."
"And is it?"
"Yeah I think so…I have never felt happier or more complete with anyone else before."
"Wow it sounds serious and I haven't even met this person yet."
"Well, that's not entirely true."
Frankie was confused for a minute.
"I know the person your dating?"
"Yes, you know her."
"She go to our school?"
"No."
"Then who?"
"Jane."
The room was eerily silent for far longer than Maura would have liked, but she wanted to give Frankie time to process this news.
"Jane who," Frankie asked his brain seemingly not wanting to compute this new information.
"Jane your sister."
Frankie paced the living room rubbing his head as a clear headache was coming on.
"Frankie…I didn't know it was happening. It just kinda happened one day."
"How is that possible? How does something just happen? You have had a crush on her forever….that's all this is right?"
"No Frankie it goes beyond just a childhood crush. I'm not that little girl who just looked up to your sister…I'm growing up…Jane and I have really gotten to know each other."
"As friends."
"Friends that kiss yes."
Frankie scrunched up his face like he just got a whiff of sour milk.
"No, my sister doesn't kiss people and she doesn't kiss my best friend. Did you two wake up one day and say how can we make Frankie loose his mind completely?"
"Yes, Frankie that is exactly what we did. I woke up a couple weeks ago, called Jane and say hey want to really stick it to your brother good."
"Sarcasm noted," Frankie mumbled still pacing the room.
"Frankie we wanted to tell you before you found out some other way."
"Like walk in on you," he nearly gagged?
"Oh stop being so dramatic I have walked in on someone going down on you."
"Not your sister."
"Frankie I am not here to ask your permission. We really like each other and we thought you could be an adult and be happy for us," Maura said getting upset.
"Maura I am sorry…this is just shocking. I didn't see it coming…have I been that bad a friend that I didn't see this happening?"
"We have been really careful…we just wanted to get to know each other first and see if it was something real. You were right I did have a childhood crush and we wanted to make sure it was something more than that."
Frankie sighed.
"So you and my sister huh?"
"Yeah."
"Couldn't resist that Rizzoli charm after all huh?"
"Something like that yeah," Maura smiled.
"So is she here?"
"No, I told her I wanted to do this alone. We have been best friends since we were in diapers…I wanted to be the one to tell you."
"I can't say I am trilled…I mean if my sister hurts you I am going to have to break her legs and that can make for a pretty awkward family reunion," Frankie smiled.
Maura couldn't help but laugh and launched herself into her best friend's arms.
"Thank you for understanding."
"So where is my wonderful sister?"
"Probably home."
"How about we all go to the bakery and we can figure this out all?"
"Definitely."
Maura called Jane and told her briefly how things went. She also told her they were going to the bakery and were hoping they could meet up. Jane was up for that as she wanted to truly make sure her brother was ok with this.
Frankie and Maura walked into the bakery and saw Jane already at the bar.
"Hey guys," Jane said with a smile.
She got up and quickly kissed Maura before turning to her brother.
"Ewww god no….no, no, no, no, no," Frankie whined.
Jane couldn't help but laugh.
"Jealous little brother."
"Ugh god you're enjoying this far too much," Frankie mumbled.
"Jane, please be nice," Maura requested not wanting to rub it in Frankie's face too much especially the first night.
"How about we move this to a booth," Jane said taking Maura's hand and following Frankie to a back booth?
Jane and Maura sat on one side and Frankie on the other. Frankie took a moment to really look at the two of them together and couldn't believe how blind he had man.
"God I am an idiot."
"No, Frankie come on give yourself a break," Jane said really not wanting her brother to beat himself up.
"No, I mean anyone looking at your two could tell something is going on. I can't believe I didn't see it."
"Frankie, we were just getting to know each other and we found out pretty quickly we really are compatible. We didn't want to hide it from you now that we know we are sure…I am sorry for falling for you best friend. I don't want you to hate me."
"Jane I don't hate you….I never could. I guess I just don't know how this is all going to work."
"Well, let's try and figure it out. What are you worried about?"
"What if Maura comes over to the house and we are hanging out and you come home…are you two just going to start hanging out with each other."
Jane was starting to understand his hesitations.
"Frankie I am not here to take away your best friend."
"Sometimes you can't help it."
"What does that mean?"
"Jane I love you but sometimes growing up with you as an older sister was hard. I was always Jane's little brother and I know you didn't mean to but people just gravitated to you. You were older and so cool and good at everything you did my friends always wanted to jump in your pick up games."
"Frankie I am so sorry I didn't know."
"I know…it's not your fault. I just only have a couple real, true friends and now two of them are dating."
"When Maura comes over to the house, I am not going to ignore her I'll say hi but I know she is your friend and I don't want to take time away from that. I hope we all find our grove and can hang out together without it being weird. I don't think it has to be and us versus you type thing but I know it will take us some time."
"Yeah, I think that sounds good. I just don't want to lose my best friend or my sister."
"You are not going to lose either of us. We have all been through far too much together. This is just another chapter in our story."
"And Frankie if you think something is changing and we aren't hanging out enough please let me know," Maura asked of her friend.
Frankie huffed.
"I am serious...because you better believe once you get drafted I am going to be face timing you all the time and bugging the shit out of you so you don't forget me."
"I am never going to forget you."
"Just like I am never going to forget you."
Frankie smiled and nodded feeling better about everything.
"And there really is one fun thing about all this," Jane said with a smirk.
"Oh yeah what's that," Frankie asked?
"Your reaction to this," Jane said grabbing Maura and kissing her.
"Eww god no stop my eyes," Frankie whined. "Keep the PDA to a minimum please."
"Deal," Jane said with a wink.
