The streets were littered with people trying to reach their destination. For the most part, they had ignored the moderately hefty sumo wrestler. This was what Link had expected once he had stepped out of the stable. An average mid day in Hyrule Castle. He said nothing. Only sighed. This was his big start. Not just in severity, but also in size. He figured that people won't recognize him when he returns.

He stepped out on the street. He heard, "Link!" He turned around to see the princess in her casual attire. She wore a pink blouse dress that slipped down to her knees.

Link cocked his head at her in confusion. "What's the meaning of this?" He asked her.

She explained herself. "I am in need to offer up a blessing to you before you left." She had a small bag that dangled off her wrist. She opened it up and pulled out a small pendant. It was circular and flat. The color of a brightly colored rose. She hands it to the young sumo wrestler.

He took time to inspect the object. Confused. "What is this?" He asks the princess.

"Can't you tell? It's a pendant!" She chirped.

"I can tell that.I'd like to know if it does something."

"Of course it does. I can use this to contact you and you can contact me through the pendant back. It also glows when darkness is nearby."

"That's pretty nifty." Link said intrigued.

"Trust me, this will help you out a whole lot."

Link nods. He knew that Princess Zelda would want to keep in touch. Especially in this case.

"I got one more surprise for you. Wait out here, don't leave." Zelda entered the stable. It wasn't too long until she stepped on out with someone from the stable. It just so happened to be Katsu.

He was still in his mawashi. Sweat poured down his face. He had a small bag of his own. A few of his own belongings with him he presumed. He wore an ornate red kimono with gold trimming. It was loose on him. It was obvious that he was in a rush to get his things together.

"What's all this?" Link asked.

Zelda explained. "I thought you might need a mentor for your adventure."

"Link, believe me, this is as unexpected to me as it is for you." Katsu said, his thick arms crossed. "The coach said I was the right pick for this situation the very moment the princess came in and explained herself. Didn't have much time to get my stuff together."

"I see." Link said with understanding. "I- we, should be going now. I need to get as much time as I can get to train and gain as much weight as I can." He turned to Katsu, "You know any recipes."

Katsu answered, "Does it look like I know any recipes?" He pats his massive girth. "Of course I know recipes. I helped cook for the guys from time to time."

Katsu was a good chef. He would always run to the market in his red ornate kimono and get fresh ingredients for the stable. He was the one the coach entrusted to teach the young rikishis how to cook. Since his arrival to the stable, it was Link who did the cooking, with Katsu teaching him the basics. After a couple of weeks, Katsu only looked at Link while he cooked. Only stepping in when he felt like he had to. It didn't take much longer after that for Link to be the cook for the stable. Link did this for a few months as Katsu watched over him. Every once in a while, the coach would let Katsu cook to give the young rikishi a break. There wasn't any new rikishi that came in after him. So, it would often switch between Link and Katsu.

Princess looked at the two of you. "I wish you best on your journey. Be safe and aware at all times." She advised them.

"We will." Link assured her.

And so the two left. No one felt out of place seeing two rather large individuals walk through the city. It was common place actually. Whenever the rikishis had to go somewhere for a match, they would all go in their respectively and vibrantly colored kimonos over to their location. They walked a similar path through the city. They took sight of what was there. Their last sight before going out in the wilds of Hyrule. They past by stands that sold a multiple of goods. Fruit on one stand, meat on another, and trinkets with the next. Every vendor yell out to the crowd that traveled by. Only a few would stop and get something. Eventually, they made their way to the front gates. Protected only by a single guard.

The streets were commonly guarded. It made everyone feel safer. However, it becomes less guarded at tournament and festival times. Link quickly presumed that this was how the great Sumo King had entered. He felt pity for the guard that was there who was unmatched by the mean spirited giant. He was left unmatched badly. However, no time for recollection.

The guard spoke to the duo, "You guys heading out?"

"We are." Katsu said. Link nod.

The guard looked at the smaller figure. "Oh, you're the challenger."

"I am sir." Link said politely. Manners was one thing that the stable taught him. The coach reminded them that respect and honor goes a long way.

"Proceed." The guard said as he opened up the gate out to the wilds.

They went out. They left the noisy city life behind them and into the crickets of the wild. The next city was a long walk from where they were, but it would be a great midway place for them to go to. The direction they needed to get from there was West. If they went along the main path and not venture off it, they would be there by morning easily. That is, if they walked all through the night.

The sights of Hyrule was very much different than what it was now. Many years back, it was left in devastation. A whole new hero had woken up to save Hyrule from an incredible threat. He walked past many ruins. He finally did manage the blight that had taken over everywhere and returned it to normal. As soon as he did so, Hyrule rebuilt itself. Transformed it to a livable place and added new villages along the pathways between major cities. Even a few villages, over time, became major cities as the population grew.

The two had seen the result of Hyrule's rebuilding process. They weaved in and out of villages. Every once in a while, they were stopped by the kids. They'd put on a show for them. One quick match, outside of a ring. They would show off their skills and the kids went crazy. After they would do their show, they would proceed on back on the road. This took some time away from their day. They had done that in each village they entered. By the time nightfall landed, they were nowhere near the city they needed to be at.

They were at a small village of Mabe. There was only a few shops set up and an inn. The people made their living in their shops which were attached to their homes. This was particularly common across Hyrule. For the two boys, this was an unusual sight. In the castle walls, the marketplace was separate from where Hylians lived at. It was two separate districts; quarter district and market district.

"You want to continue Link?" Katsu asked Link.

Link looked at him. "Don't know. I sort of want to get there." He looked at him again. He noticed that he started to get tired. He yawned. "But, we do need sleep."

"We do." Katsu agreed. "Can't train when you're tired."

"True." Link gave Katsu a nod. "We'll stay at the inn here for the night."

"Then we'll train in the morning and continue on." Katsu finished up.

"Agreed."

The boys entered the inn. There was a desk and two rooms off on the right hand side. It was a small place, but it felt cozy enough to sleep at. At least until they continued on. Behind the counter was a small lady. She had on a dress that was a simple brown. Nothing special and slightly dirtied from the dust.

"Hello boys." She greeted them. "Would you guys like a room to stay in."

"Yes." Link answered. "Two separate rooms for the night." Link put up two fingers to her.

"I can definitely set you boys up in our room. I just need you boys to pay for the night. That will be 10 rupees per room. The total will be 20 rupees."

Link took out his rupee bag from his travelling bag. He gave her a red rupee, the total cost of the rooms. "There you go."

"Thank you. Now, follow me." She took them across the room to the two open doors. "You boys can decide who will get what room."

"I'll take the room on the left." Link said.

"And I take the room not picked by you." Katsu laughed. Link laughed with him.

Link entered his room. He put his bag on the floor and closed the door. It had a small cabin feel. A small bed with a wooden bed frame. A single drawer that had three drawers on it. A closet that had just enough clothes to unload in there. He took off his kimono and hung it on a hook in the closet. He was still in his mawashi. He figured that he wouldn't take it off since they stopped at each village to perform a quick sumo match for the kids. He undid his mawashi and folded it up. He put it on the floor of the closet underneath his kimono. He opened up his bag and got his night clothes. He dragged his way to his bed and flopped down. He covered himself with the quilted blanket and quickly fell asleep. Next door, Katsu did the same thing eventually falling asleep in his own bed.
