Chapter 15: Epilogue
"And kids, that is the story of how I met your mother." The exo leaned back in his chair and looked at the two young kids in front of him.
"Kore what are you doing?" Jewel asked as she entered the living room.
"Oh just telling the kids how I met you."
"Why does it matter how you met me Kore?"
"Mom we've just learned to go with it and not ask questions." The young boy said.
"Ya mom." the younger sister said. "Trying to understand Uncle Kore provides more questions than answers most of the time."
"Aint that the truth." Aaron said as he walked in behind his wife and gave her a kiss. "To this day I still don't understand why I keep asking you to babysit my kids Kore."
"Maybe because Lance and Val are on their long term assignment scoping out the EDZ and Max is to boring in serious while Syd would tear the house down just to have fun."
"Well the robot does have a point there." Jewel said.
"I guess so. Come on kids time for bed." Aaron said.
"Awwww why." Both children said in unison.
"Because both of you have school in the morning. And uneducated kids don't become guardians one day. Only way that happens is if your built stupid, like Kore."
"That's right kids." Kore said before he processed what Aaron had just said. "Hey wait a minute." Everyone started to laugh as Kore chuckled a bit himself.
"Har har har very funny. For your information I am one of the smartest Warlocks ever to graduate the academy."
"And you still can't figure out what the crap I did when I killed Velkis."
"Not for lack of trying. It's hard to figure out how something works when it's never happened before and you can't do it again."
"I'm sure you'll get it eventually. Good night pal. Come on kids it's still bedtime."
"Awww". The children said as they followed their parents. Aaron and Jewel got the kids ready for bed and retired to their own bedroom. As Aaron layed there in the bed he thought of all the things that had happened in his life. He thought about how he foresaw his life years ago compared to how things really were now.
"Whatcha thinking about?" Jewel asked. "You've got that pondering look going."
"Just thinking about life."
"Well that's very broad. Can you explain?"
"Just, it's crazy. Years ago I wasn't sure what the future would hold for me. I didn't know where I was gonna end up. And now here I am, a husband, a father. It all just happened so fast."
"Do you regret it at all?" Aaron turned and look at his wife and gave her a kiss.
"Not at all. Hell If I had to do it again I'd gladly get captured and tortured by the Fallen if it meant ending up right here."
"Well lets hope you don't have to do that again." Jewel said as she gave Aaron another kiss. "Good night Aaron.
"Good night Jewel."
The End
Well that's it. Finally finished this and I want to thank all of you who have stuck with me and this story despite the two year hiatus and my slow editing. So last order of business is that I have a question for all of you. I have a few more stories that I want to do but I wanted to get you opinions on what story you would like to get first. If you could just let me know which of the following stories you would prefer in the reviews section. So here are your options.
1. A guardian who is discharged and imprisoned for insubordination and possible treason is brought out of prison to help combat a new Hive threat that goes far deeper then anyone could have expected.
2. A Warlock and his friends are sent on a mission to track down humanities first guardian after he's being missing for centuries.
3. After the death of his wife a hunter falls into despair until he learns that Thanatanotics may help him uncover a way to bring her back. (This one is a lot darker and will include things such as severe depression, alcoholism, and suicide)
Let me know which you would like to see first and I will do which ever has the most votes. I look forward to seeing all of you again. I hope you enjoyed.
Till next time, Phantomslayer
