Personal Comments: Here's another idea that popped into my head. A lot of times when I want to take a break from school lately, I've decided to pop in LOTR: Conquest and play a couple of solo rounds where I can play as The Witch King. I don't know why I like that guy so much. I've read a few stories about the Nazgul sort of being like a fraternity or brotherhood. I really like that idea. I wish I had played that game back in 2009 when it was popular on Xbox Live!
While looking over the LOTR wiki, I found out that only one of the nine Nazgul has a canon name: The second-in-command of the team, Khamul. All the others have fan-given names, which I think is awesome. The Witch King's fan-given name is Murazor, which I think is an awesome name! That is now my head-canon name for him!
Jeez, so little time for fanfiction. Barely made time today for this. College sure does keep me busy here. So little time for fanfics. And time keeps moving forward. Next seasons of Walking Dead and MLP will be starting soon, and I'll be left behind. So many fandoms that I want to be a part of keep moving ahead, and I'm being left in the dust it feels like.
I've read quite a few multiverse-ish crossover stories in my time.
Listened to The Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 soundtrack while writing this, and also a little of the Land Before Time soundtrack.
Adoption idea: After a tussle between the Fellowship of the Ring and the nine Nazgul, the One Ring is lost, dropped through a portal to the multiverse, and lost into a mysterious universe. The nine Nazgul travel through the portal to try and retrieve the ring. The Fellowship may also travel through, and it becomes a race to see who can find the ring first.
The story can be told from the perspective of either the Nazgul or Fellowship. If the former, consider The Witch King the protagonist. The Nazgul can also stay in contact with Saruman and Sauron who can offer them guidance.
Some universes I imagined them going to include: The Harry Potter universe (where perhaps they team up with Voldemort and the Death Eaters), The Land Before Time universe like here, the Marvel Universe (where they may clash with the Avengers), of course the MLP universe, the GTA universe, the Naruto universe, the Walking Dead universe, Bioshock, and Avatar (during Korra's time period). Of course, you can use whatever world you'd like. And no matter what universe they are in, whenever someone puts on the ring, the Nazgul are able to sense it.
Murazor stepped out of the glow and onto a hard solid surface of rock. He took a few more steps then turned around to face the portal, and watched as his eight companions came out one by one.
The last one out was Murazor's second-in-command and dear friend, Khamul.
"That's everyone, chief!" Khamul announced in their own Nazgul language.
"That's everyone, Saruman," Murazor called back through the tear. "Close the portal."
"Very well," Saruman called back in his booming voice. "Good luck!"
And with that, the tear closed up, as though being sealed up by a zipper.
Now that they were all through, Murazor took a minute to look around and take in his surroundings. The land they were in was not unlike some of the more rocky terrains of Middle Earth. They seemed to stand atop a hill, looking out at a wide range of more hills covered in grass and shrubs. Mountains could be seen far in the distance.
Aside from an few butterflies fluttering about, there was no sign of life. Until-
A large screech sounded from above, and they all turned up to see a winged shadow flying high above them. With their attuned senses, the wraiths could get a good look at it. It looked somewhat reptilian with a bird-like beak. Aside from the beak and head, the body was somewhat reminiscent of a fell beast.
"What is that, chief?" Uvatha asked, pointing up.
"I've read about them once," Adunaphel replied. "I believe that is called a pterodactyl. It is one of the many species of Dinosaur." Adunaphel was a bookworm, and always had a thing for such things.
"What's a dinosaur?" Ren asked.
"A race of reptilian beasts. You could say they are dragons, just unable to breath fire. And much smaller and less powerful."
"It would seem then that we've entered a world of dinosaurs," Murazor replied.
"Perhaps we should start covering some ground then," Uvatha spoke up. "Let's see what we can find. What direction shall we-"
"Silence!" Khamul hissed suddenly, silencing everyone.
They all listened for a second before they started hearing the loud booming noise that had startled Khamul. Loud booming footprints, like those of a giant or troll or colossus, coming closer and closer.
They turned toward the direction the booming was coming from, and faced a giant dinosaur that stood on two large muscular hind legs, with short stubby arms and a massive head composed of a huge set of jaws.
The beast roared as it approached the nine hooded figures, who drew their swords in kind.
"And what is that, genius?" Ren asked Adunaphel mockingly.
"That would be... a tyrannosaurus rex, I believe," Adun replied.
"Prepare to fight!" Murazor ordered, as he started to focus and charge magic into his blade. It was true that no living man could kill him, but that only applied to men specifically. Animals, aliens, magical creatures, all else were fair game.
