Personal Comments: I've been having this one fantasy for a final battle in Madoka Magica: Kyubey, in a fit of rage for Madoka and Homura foiling his plans so many times, transforms (on his own or maybe by injecting witch energy into himself) into a massive, muscular, super-saiyan-esque figure, and then faces off with Madoka and her four friends. The way I like to describe him, imagine if you took Kyubey, and put him in a blender with Frieza, the Nine-Tailed Fox, and the Abomination. I've decided to name this version of Kyubey "Kyubane." Maybe he would try to strike some finishing blow on Madoka, but Homura would sacrifice herself to save Madoka and defeat Kyubey once and for all.
I saw Rebellion last week. Had so many thoughts on it that I don't feel like repeating right now here. Also been playing a lot of Batman: Arkham Origins lately.
This specific fight idea came to me earlier while I was working out and listening to various pop songs, namely "Let Me Love You" by Ne-Yo. A lot of dancy pop songs can give me images of fight scenes for whatever franchise is in my mind. This one song makes me think a lot about Doctor Who because of this one GIF I saw. Listened to it while writing this. Also listened to Cortex's theme from Crash Bandicoot: Warped and Bane's and Deathstroke's themes from Batman: Arkham Origins.
Kyubey glared angrily at Madoka.
"Wow! Check it out!" Kyoko chuckled, pointing at the creature. "An incubator showing anger!"
"Yeah! Wish I had a camera!" Sayaka laughed.
"Both of you stay on your guard!" Mami snapped, her rifle still raised.
"How does it feel, Kyubey?" Homura asked in her cold monotone. "How does it feel? Loosing everything you hold dear? Everything you've worked for. To fail something so important to you? That's how you've made me feel for so long."
Kyubey bared his teeth and growled.
Before anyone could say anything else, a grief seed suddenly popped out from the door in his back. He caught it in one paw.
"MADOKA!" Kyubey screamed. "I WILL HAVE YOU!"
He slammed the point of the grief seed into his other arm as though it were a syringe. A tiny stream of blood oozed from the wound. A pattern of black symbols began to form all over his arm, then traveling up around his body. A gust of wind began to emit from the incubator before an explosion sent sand and debris scattering all over the area. The five girls were blown back by the explosion. Madoka covered her eyes to see what was happening to Kyubey.
"I'll get you... I'll get you... I'll get you all! I'll get all of you!" Kyubey was muttering under his breath as the seed's power overtook him.
His body started to grow. His paws elongated into hands with claw-like nails. His muscles began to bulge as though he had been injected with a potent steroid.
As he grew, he stood up on his hind legs, taking on a humanoid appearance. His tail remained in place though. There were sickening crunches as his bones shifted inside his body. His head morphed into that of a wolf. His ears seemed to get bigger, seeming now to take on the shape of talons at the end of ribbons attached to his ears.
His transformation complete, he turned his gaze towards the magical girls. Specifically, the pink-haired one, and let loose an ear-splitting roar.
"Alright! Let's beat this son-of-a-bitch!" Kyoko cried as she held her spear at the ready.
Kyubey, a massive grin on his face, showing off a large array of teeth, raised one gnarled hand and snapped his fingers. Instantly, an array of black tentacles shot out from behind the girls. Four of them turned, preparing to strike at them, before they met, four massive spikes of light shot from the earth, impaling the tentacles.
The four all turned back to Madoka. They knew it was her magic that was at work. She never took her eyes off Kyubey, a determined look on her face. Her hands were clenched into fists. Her white goddess gown fluttered in the breeze.
"I need all of you to sit this one out," Madoka said to her friends.
"WHAT?" Sayaka exclaimed. "You're crazy if you think we're gonna-"
She did not get to finish her sentence as she and the other girls was encased in a cube of holy light.
And with that, Kyubey dashed towards Madoka, his arm raised to strike her.
But she was fast. She ducked, and returned with a few quick jabs to his abs, followed by an uppercut to his chin. With a grunt he stumbled back.
With a roar, he charged again. Before he barreled into her grabbed onto his shoulders, and with the agility of a balance beam dancing gymnast, she somersaulted over him.
He spun on his heels and charged at her again, but she dove out of the way.
He spun again on his heals. This time, he rose his hand, summoning large orbs of dark energy, and threw them up into the air. The orbs dispersed like fireworks in dozens of smaller orbs, and suddenly rockedted down towards Madoka.
Madoka summoned her own orbs of light energy from her hands, and shot them out towards dark energy. Each time the two orbs met, they would erupt into a small explosion.
Madoka continued to focus on the orbs long enough so that-
Kyubey lashed out with her with one hand aimed to claw at her face. She ducked out of the way right in time, but-
WHAM! He spun around after his missed strike, and hit her with a backhand from his other arm. The girl was sent tumbling across the landscape.
The monster laughed at the girl's pain and his own success.
The battle escalated so that Madoka and Kyubey took on the forms of giants. Kyubey had started summoning witches to fight by his side. Homulilly, Charlotte, Gertrud, Oktavia, Ophelia, and even Walpurgesnacht were all present.
Madoka had to gracefully duck and counter and dodge out of their way. She conjured armored gauntlets to appear on her hands for blocking and hitting harder. She moved with a flow that would make Batman jealous.
She would shoot rays of light energy at her foes, summoning the souls of all her fellow magical girls to fight by her side. She would summon bows to shoot arrows from.
Even if she was in the middle of fighting two witches hand-to-hand, Kyubey would charge at her, prompting her to dive or roll out of the way, making him just knock down his minions.
He would pound the ground in an attempt to throw her off balance. Such moves would work.
Madoka was getting tired. She had already gotten cut and bruised and her dress torn in several spots.
She had managed to strike a few blows on Kyubey as well. Her work showed.
The fight had escalated to a point where the two had taken on forms too massive to hold on just one planet. The two were dancing across the stars, exchanging blows, hurtling asteroids at each other, morphing black holes and cosmic currents to their wills.
Finally, after a along and exhausting battle, the two entities found themselves on the desolate Earth once again, Madoka's four friends watching from the sidelines.
Again, Kyubey rushed Madoka, and grabbed her around the throat. With a snap, Madoka opened a rift in the fabric of reality. She and Kyubey tumbled in together.
The cubes that her friends were held in disappeared, releasing them.
"We gotta go after them and help her!" Sayaka shouted.
"But how?" Mami asked.
"Mami, tie us all together with a rope," Homura ordered. She was not speaking in her usual monotone. There was urgency in her voice. She was desperate to get to Madoka's aid.
Mami did as she was told. The four girls were tied together in a yellow ribbon, hugging each of their waists in a chain. Homura, at the lead, ran towards where the rift had been opened, and dove in. The four girls followed.
Madoka and Kyubey continued to tumble through the vortex. Kyubey still clutched Madoka's throat with one hand. She struggled against his grip, trying to pry his hand off. He pulled her face close to his and stared hungrily at her, baring his teeth in a wicked smile.
With his free hand, he suddenly pulled out the soul knife, the weapon that could kill an incubator, as well as instantly release the energy of whatever being it pierced.
He raised the dagger over his head and prepared to bring it down on her. She stopped struggling for a moment, and raised her own arm in defense. She blocked his arm with her own, then twisted it around. With an expert kung-fu grapple, she snapped his wrist. He groaned in pain and dropped the dagger.
Kyubey growled as he tightened his fist, instantly healing his hand, before hitting Madoka with a hard punch. The force of the blow caused blood to spray from her mouth.
He drew his fist back and prepared to strike again, but Madoka caught his fist, and redirected it before grabbing Kyubey's shoulders. She pulled him in and knee-kicked him in the abs.
The incubator doubled over in pain momentarily. She headbutted him hard before punching him in the face. He swung with a backhand, but she countered and elbowed him. He managed to claw at her chest though, drawing blood.
Suddenly, they passed by a blue police box. A gentleman in a brown coat and black hair poked his head out.
"Oh, hello there," He said with a smile.
Madoka and Kyubey stopped hitting each other and stared at the mand awkwardly, and then at each other. Kyubey actually recognized the man.
Before anyone could say anything else, a DMC car swooshed past them.
Finally, Madoka and Kyubey fell out of the rift and onto a desolate ruin of what must have been a Sumerian civilization, surrounded by sand.
Madoka was on the ground, barely holding herself up, panting and coughing up blood. Kyubey came over to her. First, he kicked her hard in the stomach, making her tumble over. Then he reached down and grabbed her by the collar.
"It seems you've reached your limit," He said tauntingly. "Perfect. Honestly, I could not hold out much longer myself."
He dragged her over to the pillar, and slammed her hard against the stone. He rammed her into pillar again and again. When he was done, he proceeded to punch her face hard. He was relentless.
When Madoka finally had a moment to breathe, she spoke.
"So now what?" She sputtered. "You'll kill me? Throw away all the energy inside me?"
Kyubey chuckled. "I may as well kill you now. Homura loves you too much to let you die here. Once you die, she'll reset a new timeline, undo all the damage you have done to my people! And next time, I will harvest you and your precious friends! And every stupid little girl on your damn forsaken planet!"
Before he could say anything else, and before he could deliver one more punch onto Madoka, he suddenly screamed in agony. A blade came up through his chest. The monster dropped Madoka and fell to his knees.
He turned to face Sayaka, who had shoved the soul daggar through Kyubey's chest from behind.
"It's over!" Sayaka shouted.
