Personal Comments: After the latest MLP episode, Rarity takes Manehatten (which is currently my favorite episode), I've come to ship Rarity with Coco Pommel. Yesterday I already read a oneshot someone wrote dedicated to the shipping. Fans are calling it Clarity or Rarico. Here's one little idea that came to me for it.
I remember at the end first I thought Rarity was going to be out of a few episodes because of having to work on this show she promised to do, and then when she offered the job to Coco, I thought they'd be working together, so that's the angle I took here.
Didn't feel like writing any dialogue. Right now I just... I don't know. Can't focus enough to really come up with good dialogue.
Another bright and sunny day in Manehatten. In a private workhouse down the street from Bridalway, Rarity and Coco Pommel were both hard at work fixing up the new costumes for the next show, Springtime for Sombra. Every once in a while, the two seamstresses would glance over at each other to compliment on the other's work. Coco would sometimes ask Rarity about Ponyville. Rarity was always more than happy to share with Coco all the wonderful adventures and incidents she has had with her friends and her wonderful life in Ponyville.
She missed her friends so much. She wrote to them often, and they did to her, but she still missed them very much.
At one point, Rarity realized that she had been telling Coco about herself mostly, but Coco had not said much about herself. Rarity felt guilty for that. She wanted a chance to get to know her timid friend a little better.
That day, once they both clocked out, and before they headed out the door, Rarity asked Coco if she would like to get coffee that afternoon. Coco declined though. She said she did not like coffee that much. Instead, Rarity asked her to dinner. Coco was more than happy to accept the invitation. Rarity agreed to pick her up at her hotel room at seven that evening.
Both had dressed in one of their nicest, most formal dresses, though nothing too flashy. They both looked gorgeous, something they were each sure to compliment each other on.
Rarity had decided to treat Coco and herself to one of the fancier, classier restaurants in Manehatten. Coco was excited to be treated so generously. She admitted that she had never eaten there. She had wanted to, but she never really had anypony to go with, and it seemed to expensive to go alone to; she would have preferred a more special occasion like this.
The two were seated rather quickly, and were treated to some a delicious red wine while they waited for their orders. Rarity listened intently as Coco talked about her life in Trottingham, about how how ever since she was a filly she was interested in fashion. She had moved to Manehatten, hoping to find work as a seamstress. She would move between jobs before becoming Suri's assistant.
They talked about other stuff, from fashion to pop culture, to other ponies they've met through their careers, made jokes and had a good laugh about it.
Finally, at one point, Coco had downed her glass of wine. She started speaking to Rarity about how beautiful she looked. She went on about what a wonderful pony Rarity is, and how happy she has been getting to know her. Rarity listened closely as Coco continued, slowly becoming more surprised as she started to piece together what Coco was getting at.
Coco reached across the table and placed her hoof over Rarity's as she continued. Rarity stiffened at her touch, but did not turn away. She just continued to stare back into the light blue eyes of the mare holding her hoof.
Rarity found herself leaning closer to Coco from across the table. Coco rose from her own seat and leaned forward herself. Their lips came close to meeting before the waiter came with their orders. He was sure to apologize for interrupting though. He placed their food down before them, refilled their wine glasses, and left.
Picking up where they left off, Rarity and Coco shared that kiss before they started eating. And what a kiss it was. A tiny spark set off in Rarity as their lips met. She wanted to kiss her again, but they both agreed that they should eat their meals first. So they both dug in to their delicious food, both looking forward to dessert.
