Title: Homura versus KyuBane

Premise: Madoka Magica. Fight between Homura and Kyubey's amped form. Based on the final boss level from Batman: Arkham Asylum.

Date Posted: 01/20/14

Personal Comments: So obsessed with Madoka right now. It's pretty much all I can think of right now. So many spinning thoughts on all the characters.

Also back at college. Classes started today. Not that bad right now in terms of workload, but I'm sure it will get much worse when I start tomorrow's classes.

Listened to the train fight music from the Batman Begins soundtrack while writing this.

Kyubey's large white muscular body burst through the roof of the asylum. With a loud bang, he ended up on the roof. He rose to his feet, still clutching Homura's body in one massive hand.

Her soul gem was nearly completely black. After all she had endured, and after the spell Kyubey had struck her with, she was on the verge of becoming a witch.

She gritted her teeth and struggled not just against Kyubey's grip, but to fight off the dark energy that was cluthing at her, trying to corrupt her.

A crowd of incubators and magical girls had gathered at the massive holding pen that would serve as their arena. The incubator's symbol was painted on the ground.

Kyubey's face got close to Homura's.

"Showtime, Akemi!" Kyubey shouted with glee as he tossed Homura into the arena. She landed with a hard thud. The darkness still encroaching on her, she could not even get to her feet.

"Let's give both our people something to talk about!" Kyubey continued, loud enough that the whole crowd could hear him. "Two monsterous forces, pushed to the brink, in a climactic clash, fighting for the things most dear to them!"

He jumpe down into the arena and charged at Homura. When he was close enough, he kicked her hard in the chest.

She yelped in pain like a wounded dog as she tumbled across the pavement and coughed blood. It was incredible that the kick did not snap her neck.

"And for one night only," Kyubey shouted, speaking like a football announcer. "Please welcome out special guest referee! Put your hands and paws together for the one, the only, Madoka... KANAME!"

After waving his arms like a salesman, he pointed over to the electric chair placed just on the rim of the arena. The crowd roared with applause as he said her name. In the chair, sure enough, and to Homura's horror, Madoka sat, looking upon the scene in absolute terror. Tears were streaking down her face.

Kyubey nodded to Ruubey, and she hit a button on the console she sat at (she was in charge of lights and sound). The chair lit up. The sparks clearly clearly visible and buzzing audible as voltage traveled through the chair. Madoka screamed in agony.

Homura turned back to Kyubey and shot him a glare. If only looks could kill.

Kyubey turned back to her and picked her up once again.

"Well? Are you going to do it?" Kyubey asked. "Just change. Give in! It's the only way to defeat me and save your precious Madoka!"

He pulled her in close and whispered menacingly, "we both know how much you want to."

Homura turned back to Madoka. Madoka kept watching her. Their eyes met. (PS: Couldn't think of exactly what to say here) That look was all Homura needed.

She turned back to Kyubey, angry once again, as though seeing Madoka in danger once again set of that fire inside her.

"Never!" She tore the final grief seed from her pocket, and slammed in against her soul gem on her other hand.

"You wasted the last grief seed on yourself?" Kyubey chuckled. "I should be surprised."

He threw her roughly at the wall. The impact cracked the stone. She fell to the floor, and managed to get to her feet.

And just in time. Kyubey charged at her. She dove out of the way as he punched the wall where she stood seconds ago.

"I'd say this is somewhat funny. Hysterical even!" Kyubey continued as Homura pulled out a shotgun from her shield. "Still, you are making my objective more difficult, and for that, I'll make the heavens rain your blood!"

(PS: Notice how that last quote is somewhat of a mix between the regular incubator monotone and some emotion. Sort of shows Kyubey's madness. At least that's what I got from it.)

"LET'S GET READY TOO... RUMBLE!"

Ruubey hit another key, and a bell dinged, cueing the start of the fight.

The bell dinged again, cuing a timeout.

"Excuse me, Homura," Kyubey said politely. "My public needs me. Take five." He roughly threw Homura towards one corner of the ring as he walked over to his ring to wave to his adoring fans.

That was a very brutal fight so far. Homura was barely standing. She looked up and saw Mami, Sayaka, and Kyoko all standing up in the corner coming towards her.

"It's alright," Sayaka said. "We got you." She grabbed one of Homura's arms while Kyoko grabbed the other. Together, they carried her over to the corner and sat her down.

"W-what are you guys doing here?" Homura asked, still dazed from the last hit she took.

"I'm your medic," Sayaka replied. "So hold still a second." With a gauze pad, she dabbed at the wound in Homura's chest. It stung. Homura grunted.

"Sorry, sorry," Sayaka stammered. She continued to blot at the wound.

"I'm your water girl," Kyoko added. To prove it, she poured a bucket of water over Homura's head to refresh her. Sayaka pulled the gause away in time before she continued dabbing. "Now drink up!" Kyoko held a straw to Homura's mouth, and the latter started greedily sucking water from the water bottle at the other end.

"And I'm your manager," Mami finished. "Not as much fun to be honest." She chuckled at that last bit.

Homura looked across the arena to see that Kyubey, in his corner, was being treated by a harem of female incubators.

"Now," Mami continued, "I managed to pull a few strings, and I got you this." In her hands, she held out to Homura a silver-tinted dagger.

Homura stared at it in awe and surprise. "Is that-"

"A soul daggar? Yes it is," Sayaka replied, still finishing up her touches on Homura.

"Take it out at just the right moment, and pierce his heart or brain," Mami replied.

"Got it," Homura nodded, taking the dagger.

The bell suddenly sounded again.

"Alright! You're good!" Sayaka said triumphantly.

"Go get 'em!" Kyoko cheered as she and Sayaka pushed Homura back into the ring.

The three girls then hurried back to their seats to enjoy the rest of the show and have their popcorn.

"I can take it," Kyubey hissed. "I can take anything you throw at me, Akemi."

Homura hid the dagger behind her back.

"That little spell of yours won't protect you forever. You can't defeat me. I'm going to win. Ready for the next round?"

"Always," Homura replied. She finally pulled out the dagger.

Kyubey stared at it for a moment. "W- is that-"

"I'll never let you have Madoka." Homura pulled out a pistol in the other hand and shot Kyubey in the eye, momentarily throwing him off. He staggered and held his injured eye. Homura took her chance and charged at the giant.

"NEVER!"

She swing her knife and drove it into Kyubey's rib cage with the last of her strength.

Kyubey stumbled and fell to the ground. Both of them paused for a moment. The crowd was silent.

Suddenly, Kyubey raised his hand to see it. They saw that it was fading away, dematerializing, disappearing in a cloud of sparkling dust.

"Huh? What? Ah! NO!" Kyubey screamed as he continued to fade away into nothing.

Homura stood triumphantly as the entire crowd cheered for her.
