There was once someone who cared, someone who I cared about, someone who I could call a friend. Someone I loved deeply, so much it hurt.
But even he left me, a long time ago...
Naruto was floating in and out of consciousness as the events of the world outside continued around him.
His mind was foggy but slowly began to clear and he could hear muffled voices around him. As he further regained consciousness he realized that there were only two voices, they were both female and they were both talking about him.
'-Uchiha brought him in, not much of an explanation as to what happened...'
He didn't recognize that voice. His felt his fingers twitch as another voice spoke.
'Hmm. It's not unusual that Naruto is in this situation, he doesn't seem to get along with any of his peers.'
It was his eyebrows turn to twitch and they furrowed with the effort his body put out to try and wake up. He recognized the second voice as Tsunade's; the principal.
'However, what's odd is that Sasuke Uchiha would be the one to intervene. He is such a reclusive student. It's quite astonishing.
'Uchiha...Sasuke? He's the Raven that...helped me...?'
With that thought crossing his mind and many questions following, Naruto's eyes slowly opened to a grey concrete ceiling and the smell of antibiotics and bleach.
'I'm in the medical ward...? Of course, I am. That's obvious'
Naruto blinked a few times before getting up suddenly startling nurse Shizune and the Principal who was sitting with her legs crossed at Shizune's small desk, a cup of sake in her hand, the other folded on her lap and partly hidden by her large bust.
'I hate hospitals...and I hate questions. Better get out of here before the nurse starts her sick version of a T.V interview'
Getting up so fast after being unconscious for a while left Naruto feeling slightly disoriented and a pounding in his head.
He looked around groggily for his bag and jacket, seeing that they were near the door. He got up slowly so he wouldn't pass out again and grabbed them opening the door to leave without acknowledging the two people in the room. Shizune made a start towards him.
"H-hey! I don't think you should be going so soon, I have to do one more check up on you"
Naruto sighed internally. "It's okay...I'm fine"
Shizune's eyebrows furrowed and she frowned closing her eyes. "That's all well and good to say, but that's for me to find out young man"
Naruto shook his head and opened the door wider, Tsunade's voice stopping him from leaving again.
"Naruto!" Tsunade boomed in her commanding voice.
Naruto looked over his shoulder at the sandy blonde who was still sitting.
Seeing as she had his attention she continued. "I need to ask you some questions pertaining to what happened this evening. To be able to help you solve your problem"
'I don't need this right now...what can you do to help anyway? Expel them? Give them a stern warning? Like that's gonna work. They'd come back anyway and if they didn't, someone else would take their place...just leave me alone'
"I don't have anything to say" With that Naruto stepped through the door quickly, eliminating any chance for Tsunade to respond as the door clicked shut.
"Sigh. That boy...why won't he let me help him?" Tsunade sighed again and took another gulp of sake.
"I don't know Tsunade-sama but someone needs to...I mean, did you see his arms? They were covered in scars..."
Tsunade spits out the small amount of sake she had just sipped and turned a furious glare on Shizune.
"Why the hell didn't you tell me that sooner?!"
Shizune looked baffled and terrified at the anger in Tsunade's eyes. "I- I didn't want to seem insensitive while he was still here, ma'am...!"
Tsunade closed her eyes and sighed, pressing her thumb and forefinger over the bridge of her nose to stop a headache from forming. "Oh, brother..."
Naruto stood in the empty hallway in front of the doors that led outside the school. He closed his eyes to help ease the stinging that had started from inside the med bay.
'It's not like I don't want help...but I'm better off dealing with it myself. There's nothing anyone can do for me...it's not like they can stop people from hating me...it's my fault...my fault'
He shook his head quickly, golden locks swishing to clear it of the depressing thoughts that he knew would come back in a few minutes, but just for the sake of a little peace.
Then with more force than was needed he shoved the double doors open stepping out into the dimming evening light.
As he walked towards the school gates he looked around the empty schoolyard for any sign of life that he didn't need.
Seeing that there was no one in front of him or under the trees off to the side of the yard, he chanced a look behind him only to find that the boy, Sasuke Uchiha; sitting on the roof of one of the shorter buildings in front of the main school building.
He was looking out past the school gates at something Naruto couldn't have guessed at even if he wanted to try.
Naruto watched as the raven took a deep breath and let it out slowly as he raised his hand to brush strands out of hair out of his face and behind his ear. When he opened his eyes again they landed on the curious blue ones looking up at him from the schoolyard.
Gazes locked for a moment and Sasuke smirked as Naruto, realized that he was staring for too long and turned away allowing the raven to get a glimpse of the pinkish tint on the blonde's cheeks.
As Naruto quickly headed for the school gates, he could feel the Uchiha's gaze on his back as it made the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end.
He willed himself not to look back at those dark eyes, as the shadows of the wall finally took him out of sight.
