Chapter Fourteen:

Tori's POV:

Jade and I spent the whole night talking about us and her current money situation but by what she was telling me, she seemed to have it all figured out. She had already put the cheque her father gave her in the bank and as soon as it cleared she was giving Beck and Monkey their money. She'd even arranged to do double shifts at the restaurant she worked at for the following weeks starting Monday. I couldn't help feeling proud of how she was dealing with all of this considering when we'd bumped into each other at Cat's wedding a couple of months ago she was a mess. Not physically of course, Jade always looked the part!

"I'm proud of you Jade" I said voicing my earlier thoughts. Jade smiled at me.

"Why thank-you, Vega" She said as she placed her pale arms across my neck and kissed me deeply on the lips. Her lips tasted like the prosecco we'd been drinking tonight and I pulled her in closer, wanting to feel her body against mine. She kissed me hungrily and I smiled against her lips. I broke the contact and for a second she looked disappointed but when I took her hand and gestured to the bedroom, I saw a sparkle in her blue eyes.

It wasn't the first time we'd made love but this time we weren't drunk. This time we both knew how the other felt so it was so much better and there was no question of whether or not Jade would be there in the morning and not only because she had nowhere else to go, but because I knew in my heart that she really loved me. It wasn't a game or a show we'd put on for our friends and family and we were no longer in it for the money or wedding presents that we selfishly expected to receive.

"So...I uh have a question..." I said cautiously. We were now snuggled up in bed and Jade turned around to face me, planting a sweet kiss on my cheek and smiling up at me with those beautiful blue eyes staring at me expectantly.

"What's up Tori?" Jade asked.

"Are we um... are we still getting married? I mean because we've got the wedding booked for two months from now" I said. I had realised that since it had started out as a fake engagement, technically we'd only been together since... well tonight and that would be very soon for most normal relationships.

"Oh... well I don't know" Jade sighed. I could tell by her expression that I'd hurt her feelings a little bit.

"That doesn't mean... I don't love you or that I don't want to be your wife... but I don't want you to feel like I'm rushing you into this... I mean this was my idea, this whole time..." I started but Jade shut me up with a kiss.

"you're rambling, Vega" Jade said. "But you have nothing to worry about. I know that technically we've only been together since tonight but we've known each other for what six years now?" Jade said.

"Well we weren't friends for most of those years" I pointed out. Jade frowned.

"And why do you think that was?" Jade asked.

"Umm because you thought I was into Beck?" I suggested. Jade shook her head and got up out of bed, she walked over to where she'd left a small satchel and inside was a beaten up black notepad. She opened it up to what seemed to be a random page and said read this;

'Dear Diary,

Today I met Trina Vega's younger sister. She's really pretty and extremely talented. She has big brown eyes and lips I'd like to kiss. I kind of freaked out when I saw her. The second time I saw her that is. The first time was at the showcase where she sang 'Let it shine' with Andre in place of Trina (Which saved mine and everyone else's ear drums) but when I saw her rubbing my boyfriend Beck today, I kind of freaked out and ended up pouring cold coffee on her. I know, I know not my best move. Not only was I betraying Beck by having the hots for someone else but I was also ruining any future chance with the girl if this thing doesn't work out with Beck!

But you know, it seems she likes him? She'd never be interested in me. Would she? Well either way I'm with Beck and I do love him.'

I stared at the pages in front of me, re-reading it just to be sure I'd read it right.

"That's when I first realised how I felt about you... but instead of owning up to it or at least trying to be your friend I was just a gank to you and I'm sorry about that but in answer to your earlier question. No, I don't think it's too soon for us to be thinking about getting married" Jade said, breaking the silence.

"Oh wow Jade. So you're not really a gank?" I asked, she laughed at that.

"Well I am, you know I am but not to the people I care about. I've grown up a lot now and that's all thanks to you. You make me want to be a better person!" Jade said and I knew she was telling the truth. I kissed her sweetly on the lips.

"Okay, Let's get some sleep" I suggested. Jade nodded as she crawled back under the covers and snuggled into me.

"Goodnight, Vega" She said, kissing the back of my head.

The sound of banging coming from the front door woke me up from my dream of Jade and I floating on clouds of candy floss and I audibly groaned as I got out of bed and put on my dressing gown.

'This better be good' I thought to myself as I slowly made my way to the front door. To my surprise I see Cat when I open the front door, she barges past me so unlike Cat and sits on my couch. When I don't immediately follow her she looks at me with desperate eyes and yells;

"Tori!"

Realising that's my cue I close the door and sit beside her on the couch.

"What's up Cat?" I wander. Cat starts to cry and I wrap her in a bear hug.

"I told Robbie that I was pregnant last night..." She said between sobs. "But I haven't seen him since!" She wailed into my shoulder.

"What? Really? Cat, what did Robbie say when you told him exactly?" I asked her.

"He just freaked out!" Cat told me.

"Have you spoken to him yet?" I ask, trying my best to be helpful.

"No, I'm afraid he's going to leave me to raise this baby all by myself... we've only just got married Tori. What am I going to do?" Cat asked, desperately.

"Call him and tell him to meet you here, or else!" Jade piped up. I hadn't even heard her get up. Cat nodded and started dialling Robbie's number. I got up and walked over to my fiancé and whispered;

"What are you doing?" I asked worried that she was just going to make the situation much worse for our friends.

"Trust me" She said and I did.

Jade's POV:

Robbie got over here soon after Cat had hung up.

"Hi... Jade, where's cat?" He mumbled nervously.

"In there... but you better not be here to break her heart!" I warned, he nodded.

"Got it" He said nervously.

"Hey, Cat. I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have left like that... I just panicked... I was worried about how we could afford this baby" Robbie admitted.

"Shouldn't we be worrying about these things together?" Cat asked. Robbie kissed her forehead.

"I know, I know. I acted rash... It won't happen again. I want this baby, I want you!" Robbie told her. I let out a sigh of relief, if he was leaving her... I didn't think we'd have been able to get her off of our couch.

"Come on let's go home... so we can talk about this baby?" Robbie asked. Cat nodded and wiped away a stray tear.

"Thanks Jade, Thanks Tori" Cat said as they left.
