Recall: "Tell me what's wrong, I can help."

"Why do you care?! I'm the whore, remember, now let go." He still held her wrist tightly. What the hell is her problem? He thought to himself. Kagome looked absolutely terrified of something. Is she in some sort of trouble?

"I didn't mean it like that Kagome, just let me explain."

"No! I jus-"

"Yo mutt." Shit. Kagome thought. Just as she suspected, she was too late. She looked around to see Koga and his friends surrounding the two in a tight circle.

"This is what's wrong." She whispered to Inuyasha. He placed Kagome behind him, making sure none of the wolves were in arms reach. He didn't know what was going on, but he sure as hell wasn't going to let Kagome get hurt. Not by Koga, or anyone else as far as he was concerned.

Chapter 4: How to Lose It

Kagome could feel her heart getting ready to burst out of her chest. Well how far could I really go anyways? She thought to herself. What would have happened? I go to the cafeteria. Hide out for a while, only to get the shit beaten out of me when I got home. I'm so fucking stupid. And to make matters worse, Inuyasha practically gifted wrapped her for them. Now she had the face the possibility of getting punished in Naraku's damn class. This day was not going well for her.

Inuyasha was beyond confused. Wasn't everything fixed hours ago? Why the hell was Koga messing with her again? Did she say something to him? Even if she didn't, what did she say that would piss Koga off so much? Then again u can say some small shit and this stupid wolf will start crying. Spoiled bitch.

"Sup Inuyasha." Koga said. Kagome wasn't feeling the way Koga was eyeing her. His eyes held much hatred. Apparently Inuyasha didn't like it either, because he went and held one of her hands. She looked down at it in confusion. What is he doing?

"Not much. Trying to go to lunch, but this wench ran into me." The wolves chuckled, Kagome rolled her eyes.

"Wow, how unfortunate."

"Riveting." Kagome said sarcastically. "How about you guys continue this conversation while I head out." She was getting ready to walk when Inuyasha pulled her back. He didn't like how one of the dudes checked her out. He didn't trust it, he wanted her right next to him.

Where she'll be safe…

"Well Kagome, it seems that you're just pissing everybody off today." Koga said.

"Well you, and that asshole piss me off just about every day so…" She shrugged. "Oh well." Perhaps her confidence came back since she was behind Inuyasha. But, it died down once seeing how pissed Koga was.

"That reminds me, Naraku still needs to talk to you."

"I'll talk to him when I get home."

"Now. I'm tired of your games."

"I'm tired of yours! Just leave me alone."

"What do you mean Kagome?" Inuyasha whispered. He still had no clue as to what was going on. Kagome didn't know whether or not she should just tell him or keep him out of the situation. Even if she wanted to tell him, she'd have to do it when these goons weren't around.

"Thanks for stopping her though, now if you'd be so kind, and hand her over. Her brother really needs to speak with her." She snorted.

"You wanna stop referring that animal as my brother? You know damn well he doesn't act like any sane 'brother.' More like a sane pedophile." She mumbled that last part so no one could hear her. But, Inuyasha heard if, and it shocked the hell out of him. A pedophile? Is Naraku touching her?

"Kagome, what is he talking about?" He asked. Kagome faced him.

"You'll find out soon enough."

"Shut it whore. Let's go." Koga said. "He's waited long enough."

"To hell with him."

"Do you really want another punishment?" The way he phrased it, made Inuyasha realized that there was some sick shit that was going on.

"And—you just snitched." Kagome said, talking about the look of disgust Inuyasha was giving.

"Fuck this shit, let's go." He went to reach for her but Inuyasha slapped his hand away.

"Don't fucking touch her, ya asshole."

"Fuck off mutt."

"Wait so Kagome was telling the truth the whole time?"

"No dumbass. She's a lying whore, like I've been saying. She uses people to get what she wants. I guess you fell for her trap."

"Are you fucking…" She paused to take a deep breath. "Fine…fine…I'm tired of this conversation, and I'm tired of talking in circles. Leave me the fuck alone, and run back to that hole u crawled out of."

"Who you talking to?"

"You!"

He went to pounce on her, when Inuyasha grabbed him, and pinned him on the floor. The little wolves were definitely on the defense. I guess the focus is off me for a while. Not that I'm complaining, but I don't need Inuyasha hurt because of me.

"What the hell are you doing, mutt!" He shouted.

"I don't give a fuck what she says to you, I won't let you hurt her." That definitely took Kagome by surprise. One minute he calls her a whore, the next he's defending and protecting her. Well, that was unexpected. Thanks Inuyasha.

Just then, the rest of the wolves attacked Inuyasha, making him release Koga. Kagome covered her mouth in shock. Although he was pretty strong and by the looks of things, he could take care of himself, she was still pretty worried. What the heck do I do? Where's a teacher? She was panicking like crazy, trying to grab her thoughts together. I'll get help! Ya, I'll be back Inuyasha! She tried to get away when she was suddenly grabbed by the hair.

"Where the fuck you think you going, girl?" He growled, his grip tightening.

"Away from you."

"You've caused enough trouble." She looked back at Inuyasha. He was still standing, but he was injured and getting tired. With no other choice, Kagome slammed a fist into Koga's groin, making him let go. Once released, she walked over to the fighting demons.

She was going to regret this…

Kagome's eyes glowed pink. She placed her hands together, as if she was praying. In an instant, a small barrier was placed around Inuyasha, then it expanded into a bubble. Pushing away all the guys sending them a huge shock at the same time. All the demons were practically fried, expect for Inuyasha. This gave her enough time to help him out, and walk him outside.

Kagome walked him over to the sacred tree and laid him down against the trunk. Some of the students witnessed this, and weren't too happy with Inuyasha being with Kagome. But, she barely even noticed, her main focus was to make Inuyasha feel better. She grabbed a couple of tissues from her bag, wiping some of the blood from his face.

"Are you ok?"

"Feh, this ain't nothing. It'll heal in a couple hours." She pressed the tissue to his lips.

"Wet it."

"Didn't you hear me? I said it'll heal."

"And I said wet." Inuyasha sighed before sticking his tongue out. She got the tissue damp enough before wiping the blood clean. "Are you sure you're okay?"

"Yeah."

"Good." She suddenly punched him in the stomach.

"OW! What the hell wench?"

"Why did you do that? It's not like I'm not thankful I am, but you could have got seriously hurt."

"I told you it was nothing."

"That's not what I mean. We haven't talked in years. In yet we've been talking all day. Why is are you being so…"

"Nice." She shrugged.

"Sure, let's go with that."

"I never meant to hurt you, Kagome." She blushed as he brought his hand up to her face, caressing her cheek. "You're right. I tried to stay away from you back in middle school. With everyone spreading these rumors about you and everything. Then with years passing, you seemed more distant. As if you didn't want any friends, so I didn't see a point of trying."

"I always wanted friends. But…I guess they don't want me." He grabbed her chin, making her look at him.

"I want you." She blushed hard.

"W-what?" Realizing what he said, he blushed afterwards.

"I-I mean, I-I want to b-be your friend." She laughed. Wow, laughing feels good. She thought, missing the feeling of having a friend. Looking at Inuyasha now, he was still pretty cute in her eyes. And with him protecting her, trying to make her feel better, it just made him more attractive. Her eyes widened. Still isn't the best of times to get a boyfriend…

"Why do you want to be my friend?"

"Because you're my…" he paused for a second.

"I'm what?"

"You just seem cool. You know?"

"Ok, I'll buy it for now."

"Something I can't get over though." He said.

"What's up?"

"Sane pedophile?" Her eyes widened. Oh shit. I didn't mean for him to hear that. "What did you mean by that?"

"You weren't supposed to hear that. I don't even know why I said that." Tears were forming in the corners of her eyes. "You weren't supposed to hear…"

"H-hey, relax. Tell me what's going on with you."

"I-I can't…I can't…" They'll fucking kill me. I know I'm not supposed to talk about mom, they didn't say I couldn't tell about the sexually abuse. But, I'm no fool. They'll kill me if I utter a word about it. What am I gonna do?

"You can tell me," He placed both hands on her cheeks, wiping her tears away with his thumbs. "Trust me it's okay."

"It's not, I don't want to die. They'll kill me."

"That fucking wolf? He won't touch you-"

"No!" The conversation was causing her much frustration. She was already saying too much. She was in trouble for the Koga thing and when not going to see Naraku, but now this was a whole different level. "Please…"

"How much pain has that step family caused you?"

"More pain imaginable."

"Run away from them. Don't you have family elsewhere? Maybe they can help you."

"You think I haven't tried it? I have no family. And I've ran away so many time I've lost count after the 11th time. Every time I run away, the police come. I have asthma, so I tire myself out running from them, they catch me and send me back to that damn house. I turn eighteen next year, but you've heard the rumors. Not only am I a whore I'm crazy. Therefore I'm not allowed to leave even when I pass the legal age."

"This is some crazy shit, Kagome."

"You still don't believe me, do you?"

"It's not that I don't believe you, this is just not making any sense."

"What's not to get?! You heard what I said and what Koga said. I can't tell you everything but the stuff I said should be enough. You don't even have to help me with the situation. Just believe me that I'm not what people say. That I'm not crazy. That's all I ask."

"Tell me what goes on with that family." Inuyasha looked a lot more determined to get answers. Kagome crawled away from him.

"I-I can't."

"Yes you can, there's nothing to be afraid of. Just tell me."

"No!" God, did she want to tell him. But the images of her mother's dead body scared her. She didn't want to have the same future.

"I'll help you."

"You can't! I don't want to die, and I don't want you to die."

"No one's going to-"

"Someone did!" His eyes widened. Fuck… Her frustrations kept getting the best of her and sometimes she couldn't control herself but this…

She had to get away from him.

"Who?" She quickly started to grab her things.

"Nothing, forget it." Before she could walk away, he grabbed her arms.

"Kagome, nothing bad will happen. Just tell me." She pulled away from him frantically. No…no…something bad will definitely happen. Mom tried to help. She tried to make things right. Now she was dead. And he'll die too.

"No, leave me alone!"

"Kagome-"

"No!" She said cutting him off, backing farther away from him. "Maybe I am crazy…Yes I'm insane. Because I want no one else hurt." She laughed sadly. "But, then who helps me? How do I stop my hurt?" She laughed a little harder. "And here, I thought that they were the crazy bastards destroying what's left of my life, when it's really me. Me! Clearly I'm the crazy one. That's what everyone thinks…that's what they say…It must be fucking true. Maybe I should just go with it!" Inuyasha shook his head.

"Kagome…" Dammit, what the fuck did they do to that little head of yours? Kagome started to inhale deeply, calming herself down a bit. She then dropped her head, looking as if she had been defeated.

"Thanks again for helping me. But, I think it's best if you never talk to me again." With her bangs covering her eyes, she ran off. She could hear Inuyasha shouting her name a few times, begging for her to come back to him. She couldn't…

She couldn't think straight.

She couldn't concentrate.

She couldn't reach out…for help…

She couldn't get help. There was no saving her. Not without dying. Those bastards had convinced her that if anyone tried to help her they would die.

*Wow, I made Kagome lose her mind, and confidence. Couldn't be helped. Idk it kinda seemed like the right thing to do. Let me know what you guys think.
