Eyes of ice…soul of flames…

His mind had gone blank, it was as if he wasn't reasoning anymore, he had lost all sight and logic, he was just acting giving himself up to his instinct. Leonardo had spent his whole life learning how to be in control, learning how to contain his emotions and concealing his personal feelings behind the figure of a fearless leader, unfortunately tonight everything hidden deep within his soul seemed to surface, while his every limb trembled in an unknown fear. Leonardo…the fearless leader, wasn't all that fearless anymore.

There is nothing more powerful than fear…a strong and hungry sensation that creeps up your spine taking control over every single muscle, devouring the brain with its every cell and throwing you in the darkest pit of your imagination. Delusions…mysteries…they all accompany this feeling, shaping it differently every single time. He had thought he experienced fear as a child, back then when something as simple as climbing a ladder would make his joints tremble anxiously. Tonight Leo was understanding that his past childish fear of heights was nothing compared to this unimaginable anxiety of the unknown…this fear of mystery.

It was fear that led Leonardo to risk more than just a battle by clearing his way right in the middle of the choreography unleashing itself in front of him. The dark sensation that had followed his dreams so many nights, leaving him sleepless and confused was now turning into a delusion as he longed to give his mind peace by ripping the mask of those emerald eyes. Whether an enemy or an ally hid itself behind them would determine the course of his delusion.

The blue masked turtle unleashed one of his swords, skillfully making his way towards the center of the scene, leaving behind a path of blood as enemies seemed to have noticed his presence and were now pouring from every corner. Leonardo however didn't care, with an objective set on his mind he made forward, keeping his eyes unmoving towards the figure standing in between Karai and Hun, now looking into his direction. Had he not been fighting for his life Leo might have paid some attention to the look on her face, her expression when she came to notice his green figure. He wondered if finally, she was scared…

"Leo!" he heard the voice of his brother as they stood beside him to fight, as they always would. Have I been irrational…endangering my family simply for my selfish curiosity, for my own peace of mind? Leonardo wondered with himself while sending one foot ninja one the ground without dripping a sweat drop. He glared beside himself, noticing his three brothers holding their ground steadily. Raphael who had been itching for a fight was marching his way in between a group of Purple Dragon newbies, eager to give them a lesson. Mikey seemed to simply not care, his comments flowing on the ears of the foot mercenary while he took them down one by one.

"Man…this is easier than bowling!" Mikey exclaimed with a smirk while he performed a perfect roundhouse-kick and sending two guys in the ground unmoving "This guys are going down by themselves, I am not even touching them I swear!"

"Mikey…less talking more kickin' butts!" Raph called from the other side kracking his knuckles before sending one teenager flying to the other side of the roof. He then stood with a smirk on his face looking at the others starting to back off. His massive tall form, with muscles and big clenched fists scared the living hell out of them.

"And dat's how it's done kids!" Raph said turning to them with an evil look in his face.

Leo pushed some incoming soldiers away with his Katana nodding at his brothers. He knew they could watch out for themselves even without him sorting out a plan or a route for them. He had left them to defend for themselves tonight…and he could only hope he hadn't made a grave mistake.

For some reason this time Leonardo's leadership seemed to have drained away as his eyes were focused on a ghost standing in front of him, the ghost of his fear. His eyes examining the situation as he saw both women standing in front of each-other not moving a muscle, while their attention was fully towards them…towards him and his clash.

One of them looking blankly, with a hint of shock and surprise in that emotionless expression she had kept steady during the whole night. The other burning in anger and hatred as she noticed the form of the creature who stood between her and her victory in every battle. Karai looked at Leonardo in shock and hatred, not knowing how he had come to be there that night. She tried to look straight into his eyes, giving him a hidden message to just stay away, to retreat but it seemed like Leonardo wasn't bout to take the clue. For one because he wasn't even looking at her, instead his eyes were focused on the brown haired woman standing on Karai's opposite side. She was looking back at him, studying his big form as if trying to memorize every single inch, every muscle and every movements. If she was scared or terrified of him her eyes weren't showing it, instead she stood mesmerized, witnessing the faint glow of the moon reflect upon his rich green colored skin. He held his sword like an extension of his arm, wielding it almost in pure perfection, every movement light and graceful…like a dance, yet so dangerous and lethal it made the brown haired woman experience chills.

The ghost of Leonardo's dreams seemed to be undecided as to what she was going to do, with one foot directed to the edge of the roof and the other towards her enemy she seemed to be calculating in her mind, would she walk away or stand up and fight.

Karai backed off to have a better look at her opponents as Leo made his way out of the ninja's crowd and came to stand in front of her. The two exchanged a look, the same look they would give each-other before every battle they would fight, it was like a mutual understanding stating a fact so clear and yet so hidden. One day, one of them would either end up in failure or death, one day it would be their last clash. Leonardo and Karai secretly looked forward to these encounters, they were always meant to face one another as enemies, fighting only to claim the life of the other, however it didn't mean that they enjoyed doing so. Both Leonardo and Karai valued the virtues that the other presented, they both honored the same code and served the same purpose, they both enjoyed matching up their skills in a good fight, even though such thing was done in a hidden understanding. They knew…in the end maybe one would have to draw the sword to the other for a final time.

"Leonardo!" Karai finally spoke drawing her sword towards the turtle who eyed her movements carefully, finally giving of a well known smirk he would greet her with before every battle.

"Karai!" he called back in acknowledgement looking into her own pair of deep green eyes. However the green eyes Karai bore were different from the ones torturing Leonardo's mind. Karai's eyeswere dull, the green color lacking light and glow, they were almost too dark. The eyes in his dreams burned, they shone brighter than any light.

They were her eyes! Leonardo thought stealing a glimpse of the brown haired woman standing on the other side. He didn't spend more than 5 seconds locking his eyes on her but that was enough for Leonardo to take in all he could. The woman was wearing a military outfit, with camouflage pangs, a plain beige top and heavy combat boots. She held two guns, which she had yet to move and from a stripe around her thigh he was pretty sure there was some more weapon she was hiding. He could clearly notice a well trained body hiding itself below the clothes, which would clearly explain her stamina and powerful kicks he came to notice that night. What this girl lacked for in tactic she made for in strength and speed. Leonardo was forced to take his eyes away, focusing at the opponent at hand.

"This is not your fight Leonardo!" Karai finally stated tensing her muscles in an alarmed state "There is no reason for us to fight tonight, call your brothers off and leave! The Foot shall not follow you!" Karai spoke, her eyes not leaving his. She narrowed her green eyes, trying again to reach a message through to Leonardo, only to be met with a barrier the young Leader had put up between them.

Leonardo didn't respond, but sent his hand on his weapon, drawing his second sword and taking a fighting stance in front of the black haired kunoichi. His eyes passed on the stranger on his other side for the second time that night, only that now…for a short second his sight met hers, the ocean of his blue eyes creeping towards that forest of green. He was trying to see through her and figure out if he stood beside her or against her.

The brown haired girl still looked at him in that hidden shock and surprise holding her weapons slightly towards the middle undecided as to who her true enemy was, she looked at Karai, the successor of the a clan she knew was to bring doom upon anyone passing in their path and then looked at the strange creature whose goals she had yet to decide. She had no doubt he was dangerous and…well armed, but for some reason she had yet to find out, his rage didn't seem to be coming her direction. Instead his swords were firmly turned towards her opponent, far away from her, almost as if he were there to help her.

The young woman looked around herself, there were far too many opponents for her to take on alone and she wasn't one to pas on an opportunity like this. Seeing 3 other creatures resembling the same traits as the one standing beside her, an idea sparked on her mind.

You're in an out! The mechanical voice from before rang on her head. It was one advice she would use.

Finally with a smirk of mischief playing upon her rosy lips she turned to Karai apparently ignoring Leonardo and trying to seem as unaffected by his appearance as she could. She had a plan…and he was a part of it.

If these two want to fight each-other so bad, I might just as well grant them the wish…The mysterious woman thought as she observed Karai.

"What's the matter Karai?!" the stranger taunted pulling out another combat knife from the stripe around her thigh and taking an offensive stance in front of the black haired kunoichi "Afraid of a small challenge?"

"You thief!" Karai exclaimed towards the woman "You have no idea what we are capable of!" the black haired kunoichi said while she looked nonchalant at the young soldier.

"Why you don't show me then…" the brown haired girl spoke before leaping forward and clashing one of her knives with Karai's sword, and using the other one to aim for her jugular vein right at the neck.

"Hun!" Karai ordered and immediately the bundle of muscles came to stand in between his master and the turtle while Karai deflected the first attack pushing the woman away with her feet. Her eyes passed from the opponent to the silver suitcase still laying on one corner of the roof, however that distraction allowed for the brown haired woman to land a hard kick right on the middle of Karai's stomach, the bottom of her boots making hard contact with her abdomen muscles. Shredder's daughter gasped in pain falling in one knee.

"Never take your eyes off your opponent…" he brown haired girl said attempting to take another shot at Karai, who jumped back, but not before attempting a kick, while holding herself up on her hands. The brown haired girl deflected and stood confident on her place…maybe to confident. From nowhere Karai pulls out of her uniform a long chain locking it in the feet of the woman causing for her to lose her balance and fall on the ground heavy. Slowly the odds started to change.

Not too far away Hun was facing Leonardo, with a sick smile playing in his mouth. Leo didn't seem to bothered by the look of the man, and crossed his katanas in front of himself, allowing his opponent to attack first.

"Leo careful!" Mikey called upon his brother seeing Hun approaching him and cracking his knuckles with that signature evil smirk on his face.

"I've got it Mikey!" Leo said and quickly maneuvered himself away as Hun landed a punch aiming right for his face. He quickly made a leap and landed himself behind Hun giving the man a kick on his back and quickly disappearing before he could turn. Hun kept trying to hit Leonardo, but would end up punching the air. Leonardo circled his opponent quickly, remaining unseen for Hun's untrained eyes. Hun's movements were uncoordinated and rash while Leonardo's well calculated and graceful.

"Aren't turtles supposed to be fuckin' slow!" Hun cursed still trying to get a hold of Leonardo. Unfortunately for the turtle Hun was not the one to play fair…

"We're gonna do this my way freak!" Hun exclaimed and with no warning pulled out a gun from his jacket starting to shoot all around him. There were no simple bullets emerging from Hun's weapon, instead a lethal laser was aimed for the leader of the Hamato clan, who skillfully avoided the deadly shots. He was already used to these high advanced weapons, hell he had fought against them before the Foot Clan or Purple Dragons even got their hands on any. These powerful blows emerging from the gun in Hun's hands, was no mere terrestrial technology, this kind of heavy weaponry were a gift from the foreign universe, brought here to perish the human race only to remain here as relics when the earthlings won the battle against the extra-terrestrial threat. Unfortunately these old relics had been found…modified, and finally used against him and his brothers in combat. Their enemies had found great use for the foreign technology, something the turtles weren't all that excited about.

While trying to deflect all the deadly shots coming from Hun's gun, Leonardo's focus was disturbed and Hun used such fact to his own advantage. One strong punch in the chest from the muscular man was enough to send Leo flying to the other side of the roof, gasping for air. He held himself in the edge of the building looking down, before forcing himself back up with a blurry vision. From where he stood he was able to catch a glimpse of the other battles taking place beside him...or at least as much as he could see.

His brothers seemingly holding off the never ending army of Foot Mercenaries, and Purple Dragons who seemed to have followed their boss' example and pulled out their own choice of weaponry. Leonardo felt his heart beating faster as he watched his brothers struggle to deflect the attacks, what had he done? He hadn't taken a second glance to notice how heavily armed the Dragon's were and now his brother's were suffering the consequences. He wanted to get to them and help but he had a bundle of muscles stand between him and his brothers' by the name of Hun. Leo pushed himself up on his feet blinking to clear his view and for a moment he was able to catch Donatello's sight.

Donatello gave Leonardo a look right before he got punched in his face and lost his balance ending up in the ground, anger apparent in his face, blaming Leonardo for the sudden turn of events. He couldn't understand his brother's uncalculated actions, jumping in this fight out of nowhere, without a single warning. They never had a plan, they couldn't just meddle with every enemy they had ever faced, all at once without a freaking plan. Wasn't Leo the one who was always lecturing them about discipline and rules?

"Don…" Leo exclaimed but was cut off when a body came flying right by his side. His head snapped up noticing the brown hair flying in the wind, as she fell forcefully to his side, only that the mysterious woman was not so lucky. The force she had been shoved with had been stronger and she found herself falling out of the edge reaching out with a small yelp of anxiety to grab anything, just to prevent her body from falling off that building and straight into a quick death sentence which would be the pavement down the building. Her hands missed the edge of the roof and she started falling. However just as she was about to close her eyes expecting the heavy hit to come, only trying to think of any position she could turn to so that she would end up with broken bones rather than death, a muscular green arm reached out and grabbed her shoulder stopping the fall.

"Ah…" the woman exclaimed as her body hit the side of the building while the muscular arm still held her hanging from the edge of the roof. The brown haired girl raised her head up only to stand facing the strange creature, holding her effortlessly. His dark blue eyes looking down at her form hanging loosely in the air.

"Looking good green guy…"she said smirking but heard no reply, only a twitch on her shoulder when she was pulled up and placed beside him in the roof. She winched a bit at the feeling on her shoulder, knowing something was dislocated from the pressure but not having the time nor the energy to figure out what it was. She saw straight forward noticing both Hun and Karai charging at them, displeased from the turn of events. The green massive creature beside her braced himself for the impact and she slowly pushed herself back on her feet with an ironical smirk on her face.

"I take it this is not a good time to ask what in the world are you, huh?" the woman asked the green creature who didn't reply. Before she could say more Leo ran forward meeting with Hun's inhumanly fists while the brown haired girl placed herself between the silver suitcase and the kunoichi, determined to send her mission till the very end. This time the brown haired soldier put the knife away and got hold of the two guns resting on her belt directing them to the kunoichi. She fired away, and to the shock of all the participants of that rally, the same reddish laser flew out of her gun skillfully towards the black haired kunoichi, but just scratching her arm barely…it was a warning, which Karai took to heart as she slowly started to back away.

Leonardo round kicked Hun in the face and then pulled back, getting hold of his swords one more time. From the corner of his eyes he caught glimpse of what was happening just feet away from him. He saw Karai Back off and that is when he found his opportunity strike. Going to his leadership skills Leo used his fist to give Hun a hard punch on the jaw forcing him in the opposite direction Karai. He then slowly backed off, keeping his senses on an alarm mode every moment, until he found himself standing side by side with the stranger who pointed her gun at Karai one more time taking aim. Leonardo saw Karai breath heavy, knowing she would have a hard time avoiding all the blows from that gun, the foreign technology unknown to the kunoichi who valued more her sword and Ninjutsu Weapons as a choice of heart. However none of those thoughts were reflected on her face while she moved her sword to stand in front of her face in a defense manner. Leonardo bit his lip…

When he rushed into this fight he had no intention on anyone being killed, he wanted to keep the brown girl alive long enough for him to find the answers he so much longed for, but at the same time he didn't want to aid her on killing Karai. Leonardo looked at the girl's face trying to see any sign that could tell him she wouldn't see the action through but in those fiery emerald eyes he found nothing…no sorrow, no fear, no remorse… He knew he couldn't let this happen, but at the same time, he had to find a way to turn the situation to his favor.

Leo watched Hun jump back on his feet after being thrown to the ground and give him a look full of hatred and resentment. That look he gave the blue clad turtle spiked an idea in his head...

All of a sudden Leonardo pushed himself tighter beside the brown haired soldier, the top of his shell brushing slightly with her shoulder almost causing him to loose concentration.

"Change with me!" he finally told her while staying behind her back not looking at the woman His voice however commanding and strategic, secretly telling her that he had a plan.

"What?!" she asked not really understanding his point. Without a care in the world she fired a first shot to Karai not really paying much attention to Leonardo's words. Karai managed to deflect that first shot however, she was backed off in a corner of the roof, with not much place to go. That's when Leonardo moved, he positioned his sword in front of her gun and looked straight into those green emerald eyes.

I am standing in front of her… was the only thing the blue clad turtle could think, almost feeling this situation resembling his dreams to closely.

"Listen to me!" he said forcing her to listen before she could even say a word.

"Take on Hun, he is the one who is showing off the guns around here, you could take on him easily, on her…not so much!" Leonardo told the girl pressing his hard steel against her gun and motioning to Karai with his other sword.

"Get out of my way!" the brown haired girl told him charging her weapon, ready to willingly take him out if needed. Leonardo was sure of it, the determination on those green eyes told him she would let nothing stand in between her and her victory.

"Let me handle Karai! I know her, better than you, I will make sure she stays out of your way!" he told her looking back into her eyes, his own dark blue eyes shining under that moon light. For a moment his eyes became so dark that the young soldier had the impression they turned black. Maybe it was then that he saw a glimpse of hesitation on her face, that led him to press harder.

"I will take her down and I won't come for you!" he promised her "You have my word!"

The stranger looked at him, she seemed to be evaluating his words, contemplating if she could trust him or not. Had this been any normal situation the brown haired soldier wouldn't have batted an eye, and would have simply taken the green creature out, however in her position she couldn't afford making more enemies, not that night. And something told her if something was to happen at this blue clad…thing, his other animal friends wouldn't be all to happy about his demise. God knew she didn't want to have three furious animal creatures taking revenge on her.

"So be it!" she said then and with no warning she leapt forward and shoved Leonardo off the way just as Hun prepared himself to land a kick on the turtle's back. Instead his massive fist was met with the two palms of the young woman, who miraculously was able to hold him back, while Leonardo took on to Karai.

"This better be good freak!" the woman teased Leonardo shoving Hun away.

The girl quickly kicked Hun in the face with her feet, and then spun herself around giving him two more punches.

Leonardo followed her example pushing Karai back with his sword and pushing himself down on the ground swiping his foot below hers causing for the woman to fall on the ground.

"Leonardo…" Karai exclaimed falling heavy on the ground and looking up at him in shock "…why?" she asked not understanding two very important things. Why was he there in this fateful night? And why had he just offered to take upon her, practically shoving the kunoichi away from the end of that tremendous gun.

Leonardo didn't speak, he just sent his sword to meet her and clenched his teeth pushing back to the woman, who already laid below him on the ground.

"You can thank me later Karai!" he said in irony knowing tonight he might have just saved her life. Their little battle continued but to anyone who would spend a second to look upon their fight it would be visible…they were not fighting to win.

On the other hand Hun made to run towards the girl but she quickly dodged not letting him touch a nail of her body. The strange girl now put her hand on her knives, shoving the gun below her arm and rushed towards Hun with a pair of calculative eyes, examining every inch of his body.

"This is getting way to boring to last any longer…" she said and turned towards the heavy man with an evil smirk on her face "…time to go to sleep Hun!" she said and launched forward. The stranger meant to end this battle, after finally being given the upper hand as her temporary allies were taking upon most of her enemies. It was on her hand to finish it!

Hun didn't even have time to see her coming, let alone stop her knives from penetrating deep on his shoulder, as she stood in front of him. Thick red blood dripped from the knives sticking on Hun's skin, to her forearm, making the woman's lips turn upwards on a malicious smirk. His animalistic scream echoed on the night's sky, making birds fly in fear miles away from where they were standing.

Unfortunately no one around knew the ruthlessness of this woman until they had witnessed it face to face. With that blow she made Hun fall on the ground and could very well have stopped there and leave him escape in a futile attempt to stop his bleeding…but she wanted more, his pain was not enough to satisfy her hungry eyes. The brown haired girl dragged Hun through the ground with a newly found strength enjoying his scream echoing on the night sky. The blade started digging deep in his muscles cutting his arm vertically, leaving a trail of blood on the ground. She would have gone all the way to the top of his shoulder if it weren't for the fact that she wanted to finish this mess as soon as possible. She put her foot on top of Hun's face, pressing down hard with her combat boots and then kicking him right in the nose. The hard blow didn't only break his nose but left the man bleeding and unconscious below her.

The shock that he received from the scene playing just a little further from him earned Leonardo a cut right in his thigh, as Karai took advantage of his distraction to make a move. The strange girl looked at Leonardo still with a smirk on her face.

She looked straight at Leonardo, blood from Hun's wound shimmering on her face…it was a massacre. Her sight all of a sudden turned to his brothers, who were too preoccupied in the combat to pay any further attention to the stranger. She raised her gun and directed it towards the spot where his brothers were fighting off the river of enemies.

"How about we put an end to this?" she asked Leonardo who looked at her in terror, not knowing what her intentions were.

"No…" he was about to scream but Karai kicked him on the side sending him rolling to the other side of the roof. Air being cut off his lungs, causing for that muffled scream to freeze in his throat. He waited for it to happen, he waited for this demon of a woman to shoot at his brothers, he waited for the sting of guilt and pain to his him but…

The girl did exactly the opposite of what Leonardo imagined, her hand pulled the trigger in an amazing aim, and one after another the Purple Dragons, together with the Foot Soldiers started falling one after the other. The blinding lethal light coming from the gun would pass so near Mikey, Don and Raph but none of them would be as much as scratched, she had no intention of hurting these creatures who took the blow for her that night…at least not yet.

Taking advantage of the help they were getting the brothers quickly maneuvered themselves in between the crowd sending on the ground as many of their opponents as they could until there was only one last standing…the black haired kunoichi.

Karai who had now her sword on top of Leonardo's head turned to see that she was surrounded as the turtles stood right in front of her with their weapon ready and the brown haired girl directed her gun towards her with a smirk.

"I only miss when I want to dear!" she told Karai and then pointed for her to leave the premises of the roof while she herself slowly made her way towards the metal suitcase that she had put down just before the fight.

Karai seemed to be weighting her options, but seeing the bodies of her allies laying down on the ground and the leader of the Purple Dragons bleeding to death she didn't seem to be left much of a choice. Karai finally turned her look down towards Leonardo and narrowed her eyes showing him something other than anger…

"…there it was!" Leonardo thought as he stared deep into Karai's eyes…fear. Something he had yet to witness inside the other stranger's eyes, those emerald gems showed no trace of fear, no matter how much he stared into them.

"You are making a gravely mistake…" Karai told Leonardo as she retreat her sword and backed off "…I thought there was honor in you Leonardo!" Karai said with a tone of disappointment in her voice.

"At least if you were to die or kill, you would do it with honor!" she exclaimed gesturing towards the dead bodies on that roof "I see no honor in this mess tonight! You are aiding a thief!" she accused him, that sight of validation and admiration she would always serve him with, being replaced by some other feeling Leonardo couldn't quiet name. It wasn't but a moment later that the red laser passed so near Karai's face, it nearly scratched her nose. That was the string that pulled the ninja girl and the turtle boy away from their silent conversation.

"Only when I want to Karai!" the brown haired girl repeated and finally Karai gave a signal to her foot Ninjas, who had just reappeared the scene, to take Hun's bleeding body, and like that with one last look shared between the two women Karai disappeared in the dark, with one last sentence.

"We shall meet again!"Karai made sure to point out "And next time...you won't get so lucky!"

After that Karai was gone, and with her so went the fight spirit leaving the warriors remaining on that roof to give themselves up to confusion. The strange encounter between Karai and this girl confused not only Leonardo but all of them. How did they interact with each-other...how come somehow they seemed so familiar even thought they fought against each other, even if not to death. Leo especially wondered what was it that prevented this girl from killing…even torturing Karai the same way she did with Hun, without having to bat an eyelash. Something hid behind this story and he needed to find out...

Silence now fell upon the roof without any of them saying a word. With Karai gone the strange woman turned her back to the turtles and made her way towards the edge intending to leave. A Sai flying right to her head made her divert her way as she jumped on the side to avoid it.

"Raph!" Leo called finally getting on his feet, feeling the cut in the side of his thigh slightly bleed. Karai's words had stung the blue masked turtle deeply, more than they should have, for he knew that deep inside, tonight he might have sided with a dangerous criminal who would do nothing more than threaten this city, his brother and himself…just like in his dreams.

"Shut up Fearless!" Raph called back and made forward to the girl with fury visible in his eyes "Ya wanted him to fight dat bitch!" Raph told the brown haired girl referring to Karai and how Leo had given Hun up to her and had made sure Karai dealt only with him. He had yet to understand his brother's intention but for now there were more important things that didn't add up.

"You could have don' that gun trick earlier!" he said and the woman turned towards him and smirked "But you waited…"

The girl smirked looking at the weapon he had dropped on the ground and then back at him giving a taunting and yet teasing answer.

"Why would I…you very much fought my battle for me!" she said with a persistent amused expression on her face "I needed someone to keep Karai busy while I cleared my way and…well…got my price!" she added showing them the suitcase in her hand.

"I am strong…maybe stronger than you…" the brown haired woman taunted again seeing the fury in those amber eyes hidden behind that red mask "…but I am not stupid. Tonight I needed an ally, and that ally happened to be you…whatever you are!" she added then with a shrug backing off. It was true, she wasn't sure if she would have pulled this one out without these creatures coming to her aid.

"Even though I will forever wonder why you did it!" she said honestly not understanding why they had bothered to help her tonight "You are too nice for your own good!" she joked tilting her head.

"Ya' little…" Raph started making his way towards her, his other sai ready in his hand. Unfortunately s Leo called back to him in a stern, commanding voice, making Raph stop on his tracks.

"Raphael stop right there!" he called and his hot headed brother turned towards him at the mention of his full name. Leo looked at him regretfully and then sighed diverting his sight to the brown haired girl.

"I gave her my word…" he said recalling when he had promised this stranger that they wouldn't lay a hand on her "…I granted her immunity for the night!" he told his brothers in irony making the girl look at him and giggle.

Oh how he wanted to take his words back right there, right now. If it wasn't for his honor...his code...then nothing would have stopped Leonardo from pinning that girl to the ground and...

He stopped at that trail of thoughts. And what...what would he have done if it wasn't for his promise. Would he have hurt her...would he have killed her? Would his brothers have killed her? So many questions in his head just remained unanswered, especially that particular one which had haunted him long before this girl appeared. That one question…

Who was this stranger and why did she crawl every single night in his dreams, causing him confusion and pain...

"Did you listen to that boys?" she taunted them "You leader has spoken his words, I am to go!" she said but her eyes remained to Leonardo and she sighed before turning her back to him. Her eyes stared at something far away, something Leonardo couldn't point out.

"Allow me to teach you a lesson…Leonardo!" the girl said recalling the name that Karai had called the blue masked creature right before they clashed together. The sound of his name playing upon her lips was like a melody that sent shivers down his spine. Her voice was taunting, amusing…not like anything Leonardo had heard before. Unfortunately Leo's trail of thoughts was cut short by her next move.

With a quick swift sway of the arm the strange girl threw one of her knives right towards Leo, however it came to land in front of his feet, sticking deep on the ground from the pressure. It was almost to fast for them to react but immediately anger filled his brothers who turned towards the girl, unfortunately she was already on her way, having taken advantage of their distraction to jump on the next roof. Before she made her exit she turned towards the turtles and directed her words to a particular one with a dark tone on her voice.

"There is no honor in Death!" she spoke from the other side of the roof, in a voice that Leo was doubting whether he heard her right or not.

And with those words, her silhouette disappeared in the darkness of the night.

Silence fell upon them for a couple of minutes before Mikey decided to break it with a soft sigh.

"Well…that one was feisty!" he said in sarcasm while turning to his brothers and putting his nunchucks back in his belt. The silence breaker was enough for Don to turn to Leo with a mad expression on his face.

"Are you crazy?" he asked putting his Bo Staff back in its place "Where the shell is your mind? You made us jump right in the claws of the wolves without a plan, without a freaking plan!" Donatello spoke putting his hands on his head

"For all we know we might have helped a psychopath tonight, and we have no idea with what she escaped from here. What was in that suitcase Leo?! What did she steal from the Foot?!" Don yelled starting to pace up and down.

"Chill your shell Donnie!" Raph said taking his Sai back from where it had landed when he threw it towards the girl "We are most likely going to' see her again, and then I'll beat the crap outta' dat' smirk of hers! Just wait and see!" he said putting his weapons back in his belt.

Comments continued to be thrown back and forth but Leo didn't seem to be paying much attention to them, he felt bad for having put his brothers in danger because of his stupidity, because of his curiosity…

However for the time being his attention was focused elsewhere…his eyes remained on the knife that she threw towards him. It didn't take long for his trained eyes to notice something craved in its handle. Without a word he picked up and ran his hand past the fading letters, looking at the place where she disappeared and recalling something…

"I only miss when I want to!" she had stated. So if that were true…why had she just missed by throwing him that knife…? Had she meant to hurt him?

Who was this stranger? Did she posses any hidden connection to the foot? She certainly possessed a wide range of weapons, extra-terrestrial guns that normal people couldn't simply get their hands into. There were only a handful of their enemies which had collected the leftover of these alien technologies, and made some use of them in the worst way possible. Where exactly did this girll fit into this equation, she didn't seem to recognize him and his brother at all, yet she seemed more than familiar with their enemies.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend… Leonardo thought with himself sighing softly. He certainly hoped that were the case.

"There is no honor in Death!" she had said and those words seemed to ring on Leonardo's ear continuously. It was apparent that this new vigilante of the city had no perception of honor and righteous fighting…she fought to get what she wanted to, at any cost, taking any path possible. Slowly Leo started to recall the events of his dream, understanding that the images he kept seeing could actually become true…that if she wanted he could be at the very end of that gun of hers. And yet…she had chosen to not meddle with him and his brother…why?

The question bothered Leonardo, and he was determined to find the answer…but for now he was almost satisfied with what he had gotten.

"Yo' Fearless, ya commin'?" Raph asked as they all started to head home. Leonardo seemed to snap out of it as he turned to look at his brother.

"I am right behind you!" he called back and the red masked turtle shrugged jumping to the next roof while Leo looked around as if trying to scan the area for those green emerald eyes. The letters that stood engraved on that knife seemed to be burned in his head.

"Tanya…" the letters finally connected each-other, forming what he suspected to be her name. He spoke it softly in the night, knowing she was not there to hear it and yet…wishing she could.

With one last look over the black sky Leonardo sighed and followed his brothers home. Tonight had revealed enough, and he was exhausted.

(down below in the road)

Hidden in the darkness that the buildings offered, Tanya stood on an alley looking at the shadows that seemed to divert to a different direction soon after her leave. Jumping and running skillfully in the night, the shadows disappeared into the darkness until Tanya couldn't see them anymore.

A smile played upon her lips when she remembered the sight of the blue one when she had thrown her knife to him. She wondered if he had found out…the hidden message, the secret introduction she had carried out without anyone knowing. Afterall it was not polite for only one party to know the name of the other.

"What in the world were they anyway…monsters…mutants…"she wondered out loud as she made her way deeper in the alley before a chuckle played on her lips. Till this night Tanya thought she had come to witness everything this city and world had to offer…apparently, she had been wrong. Those dark blue eyes staring at her behind the mask being a solid proof of that fact.

"It doesn't matter…" she thought "…I have a feeling I will get to see them soon enough…"

She held the suitcase on her hand tightly and then smiled slightly a different kind of smile from what anyone had witnessed from her that night.

"Leonardo…" she spoke remembering his name again, just to hear how it would sound echoing in the walls of that alley.

"Fascinating!" she finally decided before breaking on a run and disappearing without a clue.
