Chapter 4:
The shot changed to show a couple of terrorists outside sitting at a fire and it was snowing slightly. It changed to show a monitor where you could see Yinsen putting the arc reactor into Tony´s chest. Tony stood up and began to walk around.
The view changed to show them playing a board game.
„Shesh Besh," muttered Tony.
„Oh good roll," said Yinsen.
„You still haven´t told me where you´re from," said Tony looking at Yinsen.
„I come from a small town called Gulmira."
„Gulmira?" asked Rhodey looking at Tony.
„Yes," he responded.
Everyone was confused Except the shield agents.
„It´s actually a nice place," said Yinsen.
„You got any Family?" asked Tony.
„Yes and I will see them when I leave here, and you Stark?"
Tony just looked at him and was silent.
„No," he said after a while.
„So you´re a man who has everything and nothing."
Tony gave a little smile but didn´t say anything else.
„Oh Tony, Is that how you felt?" asked Pepper.
Tony looked uncomfortable because everyone was looking at him.
„But you have me you´re not alone anymore," she said taking his head in her hands and kissed him.
The shot changed to show the terrorist from earlier walking up to their door followed by two men. He looked through the door and saw Tony and Yinsen working together. He turned around and walked away again.
The camera was now passing over a table where all kinds of things lay from tools to a chest piece for the suit.
Tony was now wearing goggles and welding gear.
The view changed to show the terrorist leaning over the monitor saying, „It doesn´t look anything like in the pictures." Another man answered, „Maybe he modified it." „The tail doesn´t seem right." „Maybe it´s the other way around."
„What kind of idiots are those?" asked Darcy.
It now changed to show the leader twirling a ring around his finger.
The terrorists were now walking towards Tony and Yinsen with their guns drawn. The leader walked over to Tony and said, „Relax, the bow and arrow once was the pinnacle of weapons technologies.
„What does he mean once? What about now?" asked Clint.
„Shut up," said Natasha.
It allowed the great Genghis Khan, to rule from the Pacific to the Ukraine. An empire twice the size of Alexander the great, and four times the size of the Roman empire. But today whoever holds the latest Stark weapons ruled these lands. And soon it´ll be my turn," he said turning to Tony.
He walked to Tony and asked, „Why have you failed me?"
„We´re working on it, diligently," Yinsen said.
„I spared your life, is this how you repay me?"
„It´s very complex," said Yinsen trying to talk them out of it, we´re trying hard."
„On your knees, You think I´m an idiot?" The terrorists made him kneel.
„Tell me the truth," „We are working hard."
„Open your mouth," said the leader and took a glowing piece of coal.
„What does he want?" asked Tony from behind Yinsen.
„You think I´m a fool?" asked the leader taking Yinsen´s head in his hand and laid it down on a piece of metal. „Whats going on? Tell me the truth."
„We are working on the Jericho," responded Yinsen. The leader just yelled at him and put the coal in front of Yinsens face.
„That guy is really creeping me out right now," said Darcy.
„What does he want, a delivery date?" asked Tony taking a step towards them.
The terrorists jumped forward and yelled at Tony.
„Jeez I need him, good assistant," said Tony.
„You have until tomorrow, to assemble my missile," the leader said putting down the coal and walking out of the room.
„That went well," said Betty, letting out a breath.
The scene changed to show Tony hammering away at a piece of metal, letting out a clang every time he made contact.
„Dear god, look at those arms, I didn´t think you would have it in you," said Clint.
„You kind of look hot, when you do that," said Pepper to Tony unaware that everyone was listening.
He put the metal into a bucket of water and revealed that it was a mask. He put it on the table for Yinsen to see.
„Oh my god that looks really scary," said Jane.
The shot changed to show Tony wrapping his hands with tape, and putting on the suit.
„Ok, can you move?" asked Yinsen.
„Yeah," answered Tony.
„Ok, say it again," commanded Yinsen.
„Forty-one steps straight ahead, then sixteen, left from the door, and four to the right," repeated Tony.
„How can you remember that?" asked Fury.
„I have a photographic memory, duh," answered Tony.
The view changed to show the monitors again, with the leader watching the footage. „Where is stark?" he asked. Someone replied with, „He was here a minute ago."
„Go find him."
They walked to the door and yelled for Yinsen.
„Say something," whispered Tony.
„They´re speaking Hungarian, I don´t know Hungarian."
„Then speak Hungarian, what do you know?"
Yinsen yelled at the door, where you could see explosives hanging at it.
The terrorists pushed open the door only to be blown backward.
The leader yelled at some terrorists.
„Well, that worked," said Tony.
Yinsen replied with, „Oh my goodness, it worked alright."
„What do I do?" asked Tony getting nervous.
„Just let me finish this," said Yinsen.
„Finish the power sequence," ordered Tony.
"Don´t stress the man so much, Stark," said Fury disapprovingly.
„Ok," he said leaning over a computer.
„Function, 11," said Tony.
„Tell me when you see a progress bar, it should be up right now, tell me when you see it."
„I have it!" yelled Yinsen.
„Press Ctrl, I, Enter, Come over here and button me up."
Tony glanced at the door. „It doesn´t need to look pretty,"
„They´re coming!" yelled Yinsen.
„Just get it done."
„They are coming," hissed Yinsen.
Terrorists rushed down the corridor.
„Make sure the checkpoints are clear before following me out."
„We need more time," he said turning back to Tony. „Ok."
„I´m going to buy you some time," said Yinsen.
Tony ordered. „Stick to the plan, Stick to the plan!" He yelled at Yinsen.
„Yinsen, Yinsen." But he didn´t listen took a gun and began running down the hallway.
Tony began hyperventilating because of the Memories he tried so hard to forget.
A hand from Pepper on his shoulder brought him back. She began murmuring soothing words into his ear, and he calmed down.
The shot changed to show Yinsen running down a hallway firing his gut. He came to the end and stopped in his tracks, there were probably at least ten terrorists standing there with their guns drawn.
Suddenly it changed back to Tony where the progress bar has reached 100%.
The lights went out and it showed a hand clad in leather.
The terrorist who walked into the room turned around and was met with the sight of the arc reactor. He was blown back by the force of Tony´s punch.
The other terrorists shot in Tony´s direction. Suddenly Tony stood in front of them and shoved them to the side.
Now they could see the armor in all it´s full glory before Tony began walking.
"That looks so cool," said Coulson, fanboying inside.
The terrorists shot at Tony but they couldn´t harm him.
He walked towards them and knocked them down with a few punches.
Tony threw another punch but his arm got stuck in the wall beside him, he tried to yank himself free. One terrorist got close to Tony and tried to shoot him on the head, but the bullet ricochets and lodged itself in his head.
Everyone began laughing.
„How stupid can you be?" asked Steve, chuckling.
Tony finally freed his arm began walking towards the mouth of the cave.
There stood the leader with a gun in his hand and waited for Tony.
The shot changed to show Yinsen lying on the ground covered with bullet holes and bags.
He focused on Yinsen but didn´t notice the leader. „Yinsen!"
He cried out. „Watch out!" Only to groan in pain.
Only then did he notice the leader shooting at him.
Tony held out his right arm and shot back. He hit him and he fell to the ground.
Tony walked to Yinsen and removed the bags off him.
„Stark," Yinsen said this weakly.
„C´mon, we gotta go, move for me, C´mon we got a plan, We need to stick to it."
„This was always the plan, Stark."
„Oh my god," Betty cried out, nearly in tears.
Bruce consoled her.
„Come on, you´re going to see your family again," said Tony, pleading with him.
„My family´s dead, I´m going to see them now, Stark," he said, gasping for breath. „It´s ok, I want this, I want this."
Tony looked like he was almost in tears. „Thank you for saving me."
„Don´t waste it, don´t waste your life." With that, he took his last breath.
There were now tears streaming down Tony´s face. Pepper just held him, having tears in her eyes herself.
„I couldn´t save him," he mumbled.
„Oh Tony, it´s not your fault," she said trying to reassure him.
Now they could see the cave from the outside where they heard heavy steps.
Tony appeared and the terrorists began shooting at him.
„My turn."
„Oh my god Stark, you can be really terrifying when you want to be."
Fury said this wide-eyed.
Tony just smirked weakly back.
Tony used a flamethrower and destroyed all of his weapons. A terrorist began shooting at Tony with a machine gun, forcing him to his knees.
But Tony didn´t let up he just continued and flew out of there, the terrorist camp blowing up behind him.
„That thing can fly too?" asked Bruce.
„Ummm, not exactly."
Then he made a crash landing in the desert. They could see pieces of the suit laying all around him, he took off his helmet and said, „Not Bad."
„Not bad at all, indeed," said Rhodey.
Everyone nodded.
Tony walked along the desert with a jacket over his head, to protect him from the sun. Suddenly there were helicopters behind him as he came to a hill, and they landed. Rhodey got out of one and ran to Tony. „How was the fun-vee? Next time you ride with me, Ok," he said taking Tony in his arms and embracing him.
„Thank god," said Natasha feeling as if she could breathe again.
The scene changed and an Air Force plane touched down on a tarmac.
Pepper and happy stood by the Rolls Royce as the ramp lowered and Tony appeared sitting in a wheelchair. Rhodey helped Tony up and they began walking down it. „Watch it, coming up here," said Rhodey, gesturing to a step in the ramp. A couple of paramedics appeared with a stretcher.
„Are you kidding me with this?" scoffed Tony. „Get rid of them."
„Still your same old arrogant self, aren´t you?" asked Clint.
„Always," he said grinning at everyone.
Tony walked towards Pepper and she smiled at him.
Tony looked suspiciously at her and said, „Your eyes are red, a few tears for your long lost boss?"
„Tears of joy I hate job hunting," she said.
„Yeah, vacations over," he said walking past her to the car.
„What did you actually do while I was gone?" asked Tony.
Pepper didn´t answer immediately, so Rhodey spoke for her.
„She slept in your bed at the mansion while you were gone, with a shirt of you in her arms. She was a wreck, she didn´t eat-" Pepper interrupted him blushing and embarrassed, „Rhodey!" slapping his arm.
„How do you even know that?" she asked trying to divert the attention from her.
„Why didn´t you tell me, you don´t have to be embarrassed about that, I wouldn´t even care if you wore my clothes, I love you I should have told you soon after I came back but I..."
„It´s ok you don´t have to say anything, I love you too" she interrupted him and kissed him. He responded by wrapping his hands around her and kissing her back.
After a while, they were interrupted by a throat clearing. The pulled apart only to notice everyone watching them.
„Um, guys we´re still here you know," Steve said blushing, not used to seeing someone kiss so openly in front of everyone.
„Uh yeah, sorry." Tony and Pepper said together.
Everyone began laughing.
I just felt like this was what Pepper was doing when Tony was gone, and I love them together so I just felt like we all deserved that scene. Should I write Clintascha or Clint with Darcy? Because I´m overlooking Laura and Clint, I want to make her Clint´s Sister-in-law in Age of Ultron. Tell me what you think.
