Race 4: First Crash
(Where we left off)
The 5 red lights would go out
The racers would speed down the short spurt towards the left-hander of turn 1
Phipps would beat Lodhi to the turn and would go through cleanly
Lodhi, Annie, Marcy, Akio and Vanellope would follow closely behind
Phipps would skid wide on turn 2 which would be a tight hairpin
Lodhi and Annie would capitalize and pass him
Marcy would try overtaking Phipps exiting the turn only for Phipps to chop her off
Annie would pass Lodhi down the short spurt towards turns 3 and 4 forming the gentle and fast right-left chicane
She'd go through the chicane with ease with Lodhi staying on her tail
She'd lead through the quick turn 5 and through the tight left-right chicane of turns 6 and 7
Going down the long straight the top 6 would break away from the rest of the pack
And breakaway fast
Akio would check his mirrors just in time to see Vanellope swing to his right and overtake him down the straight
"Nice move…" He'd mutter
Nearing the end of the straight and the right-left chicane of turns 8 and 9 Lodhi would swing to the left
Annie would swing to the left and push him closer and closer to the wall
Lodhi would slow
Annie would smirk. "Damn right you back off…" She'd tell herself as she'd go through the chicane with ease
Nearing the chicane Vanellope would overtake both Marcy and Phipps the former braking too early for the chicane and the latter skidding at the entrance to the chicane
Behind them Snowanna's engine would blow and she'd hit the wall on the side of the track and would rest idle in the middle of the track
Racers would veer left and right to avoid her
Herschel would pass the stricken racer and would pass both Candlehead and Crumbelina before the chicane
Behind them Swizzle would clip Snowanna's kart and spin out aswell
Adorabeezle would swap places with Nougetsia
Jubileena would swap places with Citrusella
Taffyta and Rancis would overtake all 4
Minty would pass Sticky
Back up-front Annie would sweep through turn 10 which would be the second extremely tight hairpin
She'd clear the turn as Lodhi would swing to her right and make another passing attempt
They'd be side by side going through turn 11 which would be a slight left kink
Lodhi would begin outrunning Annie going through turn 12 which would be a slight right kink
Again Annie would move to squeeze Lodhi between her kart and the wall
Again Lodhi would slow and fall behind her
"This is my race to win…" She'd tell herself
They'd speed down the long straight towards the right-left chicane of turns 13 and 14
Vanellope would suddenly pull up on Lodhi's left
Lodhi would be taken by surprise as through the chicane Vanellope would pull ahead and would cut him off
Annie would cross the line starting her second lap with Vanellope, Lodhi, Phipps, Marcy and Akio hot on her tail
"I'm not going to be the first of us 5 to not make the podium…" Akio would mutter as he'd close in on Marcy heading through turns 1-3
Behind them the rest of the racers would cross the line as their positions would appear on a large screen above the pitlane

A crew member would relay the positions to Vanellope
"Unpleasing…most unpleasing…" Her tone would be dark
"Y-y-y-y-yo-you o-o-o-ok y-y-y-you-your majesty?" A crew member would ask nervously
"This doesn't concern you…do not worry…" She'd press the blue button on her steering wheel switching from her crew to general
Annie would lock up in turn 5 and Vanellope would take 1st
"Your rookies aren't slowing down are ya? Or can you not handle fighting someone besides each other?" Vanellope would taunt them but in a friendly manner
Annie would swing to the outside and drag race Vanellope out of turn 7 and down the long straight
"Wanna dance? Let's dance…"
She'd bump Vanellope enough to send her skidding sideways
Lodhi would use the opportunity to get pass the Princess and into the slipstream of Annie
Vanellope would line up behind her as almost immediately she'd come under pressure from Phipps as right behind them Marcy would swerve from side to side blocking Akio's many attempts of passing her
Going into the chicane of turns 8 and 9 Phipps would clip the rear of Vanellopes Kart sending her spinning down to 6th
"I didn't mean to do that princess…" He'd state through his mic
"It's ok…all part of the race…" Vanellope would respond
Marcy would hold Akio back through turns 10, 11 and 12 but would skid on the entry to 13 and Akio would take 4th from her
The fans of the 5 siblings would go absolutely bananas as the 5 would round turns 1 and 2 on the third and final lap
Heading towards turns 3 and 4 Akio would blast pass Phipps
Phipps would grip his steering wheel tight as he'd follow closely behind Akio who'd slowly but surely gain on Lodhi and Annie
Annie would hold the lead through turns 5, 6 and 7
She'd see Lodhi swing to her left and pick up speed fast
"Let's see you get pass this…"
She'd swing to the left but instead of squeezing Lodhi between her kart and the wall
She'd put her rear left wheel between Lodhi's front and rear right wheels
Lodhi would glance at Annie knowing if he went any faster he'd send them both spinning
And with his luck he'd come off of it worst off
Turn 8 would fast approach as Lodhi and Annie would exchange glances
Annie would check her right mirror and seeing Akio charging towards the open space on the right side
She'd swerve chopping him off
Lodhi would try taking the outside into turn 8
But it would ultimately fail as rounding turn 9 Annie would lead
Going through the tight hairpin of turn 10 Phipps would slow too much
Marcy would veer wide and pass him on the outside
Her fans would go ballistic in the stands
The 5 would round turns 11 and 12
Going down the straight Lodhi would pull up beside Annie
Annie would go to squeeze him once again
Lodhi would have none of it
They'd bump wheels slowing the 2 slightly
As they'd go into turn 13
Annie would force Lodhi against the edge of the track
Out of no where Akio would swing wide trying to make a run on the 2
Disaster would strike heading into turn 14
Annie would clip Akio and he'd do a full 90 degrees
Plowing straight into Lodhi sending both smashing into the wall at the exit of turn 14 Lodhi would fly alongside the wall all the way to the line Akio would fly a few meters then nose dive into the ground
Annie would spin across the line and hit the wall violently obliterating her front end on impact
Phipps and Marcy would hit the brakes
But to no avail
Phipps would collide into the underside of Akio's kart
Marcy would clip Phipps and spin
All 4 would cross the line spinning, crashing with a huge pile of smoke following them
Lodhi having flew alongside the wall the entire way to the finish line would finally hit the ground nose first
The front of his kart would disintegrate on impact, his kart would bounce off the ground almost like a ball as the kart would land on it's right side destroying the wheels and the side pod
He'd fly into the wall causing it to collapse inward before falling on top of the front of Marcy's kart
Back with Phipps and Akio things wouldn't be any better
Akio would roll several times before landing literally on top of Phipps
Akio would open his eyes to find himself upside down and in between Phipps and his steering wheel
"You ok Akio?" Phipps would ask his brother concerned
"Yea I'm fine…thank god for these HANS systems…or else I think we would have died by blunt force trauma from our heads hitting everything…"
Vanellope and the others would cross the finish line seeing the horrible sight
Annie would already be running towards the wrecks of Akio and Phipps
Marcy would get out of her kart and lift her visor up
She'd give a thumbs up to the crowd
The crowd's attention would turn to the race officials running towards Akio and Phipps
And Lodhi who'd sit motionless in a twisted pile of jumbled metal that used to be his kart
Most of the racers would go over and help lift Akio's kart off of Phipps
The crowd would sigh in relief seeing both somehow escaping harm
Herschel would approach Lodhi cautiously as fuel would leak from the back of his kart from his torn and ruptured engine
"Lodhi?" Herschel would ask seeing the sparks flying from Lodhi's wreck as well as Marcy's
Lodhi would look around obviously dazed and confused
Herschel would quickly unfasten Lodhi's safety belts and pull him out of the kart
He'd drag Lodhi to a safe distance when suddenly both he and Marcy's kart would ignite in a big ball of fire
Herschel's attention would turn back to Lodhi
Lodhi would shake his head snapping out of it "Vot happened?"
Herschel would look over at the fiery wrecks "Well…you were almost fried up…"
Lodhi would lift his visor up. "Zanks for ze save…I owe you one…"
"You would have done the same thing…" Herschel would help him up as the fans in the stand would cheer and clap
Akio and Phipps would get out of their karts
All the fans would cheer as they'd wave and give the thumbs up to the crowd
The final results would appear on the Jumbotron

Vanellope would walk up to the 5 rookies. "You 5 put a real scare in me…I don't enjoy finishing a race and seeing karts stacked on each other…wrecked…nor upside down…"
"We know…what I want to know is how did that happened?" Marcy would ask
Vanellope would point to the large screen above the pit lane. "Let's watch the replay footage…"
All the racers attention would go to the screen showing Lodhi, Annie and Akio going through turn 13 at 3 abreast
"Well there's the first mistake…going side by side through there is a huge no no…" Annie would state
It'd show Annie forcing Lodhi wide but Akio oversteering and skidding into the front end of Annie's kart
"Hmm…seems no one is at fault…just a few bad decisions and mistakes…" Vanellope would state
The siblings would shrug
Lodhi would shake Herschel's hand
"Zanks again for ze save back zere…"
Herschel would smile a little. "You would've done the same for me…"
All 5 rookies would head to the room leading to the podium
They'd drink some water while still getting over the shock and surprise of the crash
Annie would look at Akio. "I left you room…you oversteered in the worst place to oversteer at the worst possible time…"
Akio would nod. "I know…"
Phipps would keep taking deep breaths. "I don't know what got me worst…smashing into Akio…Akio landing on me…or the fact that even though he landed safely between be and my steering wheel…an inch or 2 more…our heads would have smash together…"
A marshmallow would open the door to the podium. "The podium awaits…"
Annie would walk out and jump around her fist in the air as her fans would roar loud enough for the ground to vibrate
She'd lift her trophy high in the air as her siblings would applaud
Lodhi would look at the ground. "4 races in a fucking row…zis bullshit needs to stop…" He'd tell himself
A photographer would set up in front of the podium as the siblings would move closer together for the group shot
(Few minutes later)
Lodhi, Akio, Phipps and Marcy would grab their champagne bottles
Annie would look around. "Aw shit…"
They'd spray her
She'd laugh holding her trophy high in the air
When the champagne would stop flying Vanellope would walk over
"Where's the next race princess?" Annie would ask
"Monaco is the last track…it'll be 4 laps…and in an hour…"
"Ok…" The rookies would go down to their garages
(10 minutes later)
Akio would clench his fist
Unclench it
Then clench it again
"Why you doing that Akio?" Citrusella would ask waling in on him
"Feel a small pain everytime I do it…but I don't remember my hand hitting anything…throughout that whole crash I gripped my steering wheel tight…"
"Ok…but good race out there…"
"Thanks…"
"So what do you think of Herschel? Wrecks Annie twice…then to try and be a suck up makes a big deal out of saving Lodhi from his kart…"
"…Yea…I noticed…"
"You ok?"
"I'm fine…"
Her phone would suddenly vibrate from a text. "Princess needs me…I'll see you later…" Shed walk away
She'd walk into Vanellope's garage
Vanellope would have her back to her as she'd inspect her sword
"Citrusella…how are things going with Akio?"
"They're doing perfectly fine…" Citrusella would reply nervously
"You know I hate being lied to…"
Citrusella would gulp as Vanellope would twirl her sword around her back still to her
"I'll ask once more…how are things with Akio?"
"There good…but he knows something's up…it's like he just saw through the lies…"
Vanellope would silently clench her sword tight making Citrusella more nervous
"I'm sorry princess…I'm trying…but he must know something is up…he might not join our side…"
The tip of Vanellope's sword would be put mere inches from her neck
"Then why are you still here?" Vanellope would ask in a dark tone
Citrusella would stay silent
"Stop pestering me…get to work…achieve your goal…or else you will share the same fate as Torvald and her pitiful pathetic squad…"
Citrusella would nod nervously. "As you wish princess…"
"Now get out of my sight…"
Citrusella would rush out
(Meanwhile)
Taffyta would walk by the garages of the rookies
Something would catch her eye
Their karts would be there but no sign of any of them
She'd look over at the rest of Torvald's group. "Hey guys…rookies are gone…"
Vanellope and her group would overhear the statement
"Where are they?" Torvald would ask as she'd see a door open at the back of Annie's garage. "Wait…I might know…"
All 8 would walk through the door and see the 5 rookies behind a row of tires discussing something
Unbeknownst to any of them Vanellope and her group would also be listening in from not to far away
(With the rookies)
"Ok…even though I've hated spying on them…since I find them nice…I think it's safe to say something big and something bad went down before we arrived…" Marcy would start
"Yes…but vot happened is ze question…" Lodhi would ask
"Whatever it was it split the roster in 3…those loyal to Vanellope…those in opposition…and radicals…" Annie would state
"Radicals?" The other 4 would ask in unison
"Yea…from what my fans have heard fro.m other fans…Torvald, Candlehead, Sticky and Herschel…they seem to be a peaceful opposition…while Minty, Crumbelina, Taffyta and Gloyd seem to be the more violent, hit first ask questions later kind of people…"
"Then something happened that merged those 2 small groups into 1…then my best guest in Vanellope did something…something that got blood on her hands…"
"Yea…but from ze looks of zings…every dead racer was brought back…and I'm villing to bet it was a few minutes before ve arrived zat zey came back…"
Akio would suddenly look up
His siblings would go silent
"We've joined a candy game…but with a dark filling…"
They'd remain silent letting him continue
Torvald, Vanellope and their respective groups would listen in closely
"Every racer exhibits certain emotions and behaviours…but strangley…I've seen multiple racers showing the exact same emotions and behaviours…"
"Like what?" Annie would ask
"Taffyta, Crumbelina, Minty and Gloyd…their main emotions are anger, a desire for revenge…and from their behavior…if we weren't here…they'd probably be trying to kill somebody…"
The 4 would remain silent letting him continue
"Torvald, Sticky, Candlehead and Herschel…their main emotion…is fear…it's at it's highest when Vanellope…and those on her side are around…from their behavior…they're trying hard to keep peace and not tick the princess off…"
"What about Vanellope's side?" Phipps would ask
"That's what baffles me…they're emotionless…they only exhibit emotions when Torvald's side isn't present…or when their with someone close to them…but from their behavior…they're undyingly loyal to Vanellope…nothing can crush their loyalty…as if…they're programmed to be…"
Lodhi, Phipps, Marcy and Annie would look at one another
"You don't think…"
"Vanellope did something? When her main emotions are anger, fury, suffrage mixed with the biggest desire for revenge I've ever seen…it is quite possible…"
Both Torvald and Vanellope jaws would drop
"How did they…" Torvald would mutter
"Figure so much out…" Vanellope would clench her fist
