Ch.27 Last Hope Part I
(Where we left off)
Torvald would cry as Marcy would silently rub her back
Knowing she couldn't say anything that would help Torvald feel better
"W-w-why did I try fighting her? Maybe they'd still be alive had I not done anything…" Torvald would state between sobs
"Vanellope would have done this either way…Akio even sensed you were scaring Vanellope…"
-Flashback-
Akio would sit against his kart silently pondering
Marcy would approach him
"Hey Akio…something wrong?"
Akio would look at her
"Remember how I said Vanellope's main emotions were anger, fury, suffrage mixed with the largest desire for revenge?"
"Yea…"
"It seems whenever Torvald is brought up…or things Torvald has accomplished…Vanellope starts showing signs of fear, uneasiness and she seems to be put in a spot of discomfort…it's as if she fears what Torvald is capable of, none of it is fake…it's genuine fear…"
"That seems strange…I know you can read these things…but are you sure about that?"
"My sense has never been wrong Marcy…"
-End Flashback-
"Vanellope feared you…she knew you were match for her…that you were on her level…and it terrified her…"
Torvald would continue crying. "They're all dead because of me!"
"You couldn't have done anything…you had everything set for a victory…Minty and Taffyta screwed everything up…what happened wasn't your fault…"
"Still…I convinced them to fight her…"
"They could've backed out at any moment…they chose to keep fighting by your side…it was their choice…they knew you were a match for Vanellope…and they tried their damn best to help you defeat her…"
Torvald wouldn't say anything
She'd continue crying into Marcy's shoulder
(Meanwhile)
Candlehead would rest as Lodhi would work on his numbing formula
"So what does that do?" Crumbelina would ask pointing to a bottle. "Oh and that? And that?" She'd point to pretty much everything on the large table infront of the 2
"Let me vork…go see how Heinz, Berge, Zu and Jorge on doing…"
"Ok…" Crumbelina would go over to the 4 assistants working tirelessly
"How's it coming along?"
"Good…should be done soon…" Heinz would reply
"Good…"
Phipps would suddenly rush down the stairs into the lab
"Lodhi we need to talk…"
"Ok…"
The 2 would go to a corner and talk almost in a whisper
Crumbelina would notice Phipps handing Lodhi something
"Hmm…" She'd ponder what it could be
Phipps would suddenly run back up the stairs
Lodhi would return to his work as if nothing had happened
"What did your brother stop by to say?"
"He hacked into Vanellope's security cameras…Herschel, Minty and Sticky are now dead…and Torvald is locked away deep in ze Fungeon…"
"Wait…she killed Herschel?!"
"Yea…forced Torvald to vatch ze vole zing…"
"H-h-h-he didn't do anything wrong!"
"I know…"
"What did Phipps hand you?"
Lodhi would walk over to a large computer beside his work table
He'd hook something into it and blueprints and layouts of the castle would appear on the large screen
"What's this for?" Crumbelina would ask
"I have a plan…but for it to succeed…it's must be as quiet and as invisible as possible…"
"What are you planning?"
"Not saying…it's still it the final stages of preparations…"
Heinz would suddenly run towards the 2. "Zey're done sir…"
Lodhi would turn to him. "Good bring them here…"
The other 3 assistants would bring the patches over.
Lodhi would look over his table. "I remember you agreeing to test zem Crumbelina…"
Crumbelina would gulp. "I did…"
Lodhi would pike up a small knife. "Just a small cut on your arm should be enough…"
"Are you sure about this Lodhi?"
Lodhi would hand her the knife. "You agreed…and as I said…I don't vont to test zem on Candlehead…incase ze backfire…"
Crumbelina would sigh and would reluctantly cut her arm slightly
Lodhi would place a patch over the cut. "Zere…should take a few moments for it to take affect…"
A few moments would pass and Crumbelina would suddenly clench her teeth
"Are you ok?"
"It fucking burns!"
Lodhi would take the patch off and inspect Crumbelina's arm. "Interesting…it heal ze cut…but caused pain…"
He'd write the results on a clipboard
"Now for ze tank…"
The 2 would walk over to the finished Bacta tank
"I'm not sure about this Lodhi…"
Lodhi would hand her the knife again. "Ze second somesing goes vrong…I vill pull you out…"
"I'm nervous about this Lodhi…"
"I know…but as I said…I don't vont to test it on Candlehead…"
Crumbelina would reluctantly hand the knife to Heinz and he'd cut her a few times on the arm and leg
"Might vont to vear zis…" Lohdi would hand her a mask to put over her mouth
Crumbelina would put it on and nervously step into the tank
Lodhi would seal the door and power the machine
"Hope zis vorks…" He'd tell himself
Sometime would pass Crumbelina's cuts would heal
Lodhi would scan a monitor cautiously. "Good so far…"
Eventually Crumbelina's cuts would heal fully and Lodhi would take her out
"Did it hurt?" He'd ask
"Not one bit…" Crumbelina would respond
"Good…help me get Candlehead in there…"
The 2 would slowly and cautiously lift up and carry Candlehead trying not to touch the many burns on her body
They'd slowly place her in the tank and seal it
Lodhi would power it on
"Seeing how it took almost an hour for you…I zink she'll be zere for a vile…"
"I don't care I'm not leaving her side…"
"Ok…I'm gonna go take care of somesing…don't touch a zing…" Lodhi would walk up the stairs
(Meanwhile)
Marcy would be walking home silently
"Hey Marcy wait for me!"
She'd turn around to be met with a hug and a kiss from Nougetsia
"You look down…what's troubling you?"
"Just Akio…he should've known he was playing a dangerous game…"
"Don't let that get you down…Vanellope wants to talk with him…and explain things to him…so he can fully understand everything…"
"You sure?"
"Yea…she plans to talk with him one on one…and she wants to show him she doesn't always resort to violence…she only killed the those that have caused her unimaginable suffering throughout the years…"
"Still…I find Herschel didn't deserve to die…from how both sides were saying…he was added right in the middle of this conflict…and was dragged into it…from the sounds of it his life has been hell from day one…"
"How did you know he died?"
"I saw his body when I went to talk to Torvald…"
"Why did you go talk to her?" Nougetsia would stop getting suspicious
"I needed to tell her that what I did…it wasn't personal…I wanted Minty and Taffyta taken down…I didn't want her world being turned on it's head…time in the Fungeon I completely agree with…since she was the leader of the group…but having to watch those she loved and cared for die…for me…that's crossing a line…besides…with the state she was in…she needed someone to comfort her…"
"How long were you there?"
"A short bit…long enough for her to stop crying…and finally go to sleep…from the looks of things she hadn't slept well in days…"
"Oh ok…that's nice of you…"
"I know…but since you're here…I was going to ask if you wanted to have a girls night out with Jubileena, Snowanna and Citrusella in GCS…"
"Hmm…give me a moment…"
Nougetsia would pull out her phone sending texts to Vanellope and the other girls
Vanellope would reply. "You may go…since I want you 3 to fully entrench Marcy on our side…"
"What about Akio?" Jubileena would text in the group chat
"We'll worry about him later…if we get Marcy on our side…that will persuade the others from attacking…I read their bios and files completely…they will never dare fight one another…only in extreme conditions will they raise their weapons against eachother…and since Annie will be fully on our side thanks to Torvald's group being responsible for her coma…it won't matter what Akio tries…"
"Ok…" Jubileena would reply
Nougetsia would put her phone away. "Yea we can have that girls night…we just have to pick Citursella up since she's still in a wheel chair with broken legs…and meet up with Jubileena and Snowanna at Rainbow Bridge…"
"Lead the way then…"
Nougetsia would turn and begin walking and Marcy would pull out her phone and send a text to her brothers
"We're leaving in a few minutes…even though I have my doubts about what you guys are doing…I bought some time…so make it count…"
(A few minutes later)
All 5 girls would meet at the bridge as the sun would have already gone down
"Let's go have some fun!"
All 5 would head up the bridge
Marcy would spot Akio standing on a branch of a nearby tree
She'd give him a thumbs up
He'd return the thumbs up
He'd take out his phone. "You 2 in position?"
"Yea…?" Phipps would reply
He'd be wearing an all black outfit and would be standing near the gate concealed in the darkness
"How about you Lodhi?"
Akio would reply
Lodhi would be standing near a vent also wearing an all-black outfit
He'd be inspecting his 2 swords. "I'm in position…how's ze gate look?"
"It shows most of her minions are gone…I count atleast 50 guards at the gate…70 in the courtyard…and 10 and the main doors…"
Lodhi would enter the vent. "Ready on your mark Phipps…"
Phipps would light a Cherry Bomb and roll it towards the gate
It'd blow up and send the metal gate flying
All the guards would look in the direction of the explosion to see Akio waving his arm from the forest.
"Hey losers! COME AND GET ME!"
The guards would charge at him and he'd bolt into the forest
He'd look over his shoulder to see them all after them
"They took the bait…"
"Ok…Phipps…cut their security cameras…"
Phipps would hold a remote in his hand
"Marcy…I hope you did your job…"
-Flashback-
Marcy would follow Nougetsia into the surveillance room
"And this is where everything in the game is monitored…"
"Cool…" Marcy would reply
Nougetsia's phone would vibrate
"Oh…duties calls…Princess wants to see me…"
"Ok…" Marcy would reply
They'd both leave the door
Nougetsia would walk away as the door would slowly start to close
Marcy would throw one of her sai wedging it between the door and the frame
She'd follow Nougetsia to the throne room but would be stop at the entrance
"She wants to see me alone…I'll catch up with you later…"
"Ok…" Marcy would reply
Nougetsia would enter the throne room and Marcy would run back to the surveillance room
She'd enter and would go to the main computer
"This seems to control everything…"
She'd go to main core of it and set a virus that could be remotely unleash
"One press of a button…and the cameras go down…"
-End Flashback-
Phipps would press the button on the remote and would sigh and relief when he'd see nearby cameras go out instantly
"Ok come join me Phipps…ve have about 30 seconds before ze alarms go off…"
Phipps would rush over to Lodhi and they'd both climb through the vents
"Where's this taking us?"
"To ze Fungeon…"
"What do we need there?"
"Torvald…"
"So we're rescuing your girlfriend?"
"More zen zat…she's the only one besides Vanellope who knows how ze code vorks…she knows ze in and outs…ze only zing ve know about it is it's exsitance…"
"True…" Phipps would reply
They'd both drop down into the Fungeon and immediately spotted by a group of guards
"FREEZE!"
Lodhi would draw one of his swords
The guards would laugh
"A sword can't pierce an Oero!"
"Is zat so?"
He swing down and cut cleanly through one of the guards
The rest would back away terrified
He'd look at Phipps. "Find Torvald and get her out of her cell…I'll take care of zese…idiots…"
Phipps would nod and run down the hall as he'd hear Lodhi killing the Oero guards
He'd see Torvald sitting silently in her cell
"Torvald?"
She'd look up. "Who are you?"
"Give me a second…"
He'd look at the lock and would see he'd need a key card
"Of course…"
He'd tear off the scanner and would begin fiddling with the wires as Lodhi would arrive
"10 seconds before ze alarm…"
"Don't fucking rush me…"
Phipps would rearrange a few wires and the door would fly open
Torvald would walk out.
"L-L-Lodhi?"
He'd take off the mask covering his face
"Yea…"
Phipps would take off his
"Surprised?"
She'd hug them both tightly
Red lights would flash as the alarms would begin to blare
"Make up time can't vait…follow us…" Lodhi would state as he'd run back over to the vent he and Phipps had entered from
He'd hear Vanellope, Rancis and Swizzle coming down the stairs
"Hurry up you 2!"
He'd help Torvald and Phipps into the vent before he throw a smoke bomb down at his feet
Vanellope would reach the bottom of the stairs and would cough and wave her arms trying to clear some of the smoke
When the smoke would clear she'd see Torvald's cell empty and the guards cut in 2 and some others cut in 4
Her fists would suddenly clench
Swizzle and Rancis would nervously gulp and would back towards the stairs
Vanellope would look over her shoulder at them
They'd both freeze seeing nothing but rage and death in her eyes
"FIND…OUT…WHO….DID…THIS!"
Both would flee up the stairs as Vanellope would look back over at the carnage
"No…not when I've won! This is my time! My victory!"
She wouldn't be able to hold it in any longer
She'd scream in rage
(A few moments later)
Lodhi, Phipps and Torvald would climb out of the vents and run to Lodhi's chalet full sprint
They'd reach it and go inside
"Thanks boys…" Torvald would state
"What now?" Phipps would ask
Lodhi would look at Torvald. "Do you know your vay around ze code room?"
Torvald would light up abit. "Yea…"
Lodhi would smile. "Zen I have a plan…"
