Pushed Away

After Ashley is better, Cassie and Karone pulled her throughout the ship to a grey door.

"What is this?" Ashley asks.

The two girls grin as they opened the door.

Ashley smiles as they took one look at the mystery room.

It was very yellow.

The walls gleamed as a bright yellow.

A pale yellow bed against the bed with about three pillows the same color shade.

"This is beautiful. Thank you, but you didn't have to do this." Says Ashley.

Karone shakes her head "We want you feel comfortable here!"

"Plus it not that different from are rooms but the color! So don't freak about it being too much!" explains Cassie.

The three girls hug and giggle.

Karone hands an outfit to Ashley.

"Here's your ranger uniform!"

Four months later

As she walks onto the bridge in her Yellow Astro Ranger Uniform she speaks.

"Hello Andros."

Ash takes her seat next to him as he works on some paper work.

She frowns when she didn't get an answer.

Ashley has noticed this many times before ever since she got the morpher.

So she tries again "Would you like to go to the ice rink with me and the others?" She asks.

"No!" snaps Andros

Ashley looks at him in annoyance and speaks.

"Why can you never come with us? You're always too busy?"

Andros never looks up from his work as he snaps at her again.

"It's because I don't have time for stupid things."

"So spending time with your sister, best friend, and friends is stupid."

Andros doesn't reply he just ignores her.

"Why do I get the feeling that you're just putting up with us!" says Ashley

Ash is fed up, She is upset now; she has her hands on her waist while she was glaring at him.

She also noticed that at question Andros's shoulders tensed.

Ash gasps.

"It's not us that you are putting up with, it's me. What did I ever do to you to deserve this?"

Andros drops his work and stands to look at her face on.

"Because you're always doing stupid things like putting yourself in a lot of danger in battles, or trying to make me go do stupid things on Earth and keep me from doing my work. You're so innocent, every moment after I gave you that morpher I hoped you would just give up give it back and go home. But you stay here and annoy me to death. Why don't you go annoy someone else for a change?"

Ash looks like she got slapped in the face.

She blinks a couple of times looks at her feet then back into his eyes.

"If that's how you feel you could have told me earlier and I would have given you your wish a long time ago."

Ashley pulls off her morpher and pushes it into Andros's hand.

Andros looks shocked as she does so.

As she turns to leave the Bridge the others walk in oblivious to what happened between their fellow Rangers.

TJ speaks as he sees the look on Ashley's face as she walks towards them.

"What's up Ash?"

As she walks past them though the door the yells back at them.

"Apparently I'm too stupid and innocent to hold an Astro Morpher!"

Everyone looks shocked as she walks out of view, they look at Andros.

Andros, who stands frozen in place hasn't moved an inch.

Karone sees the morpher in his hand and gasps.

She walks up to him and slaps him upside the head.

Once he finally moves he tries to speak but Karone grabs his collar and forces him to look her in the eye.

"What happened to I'll be good Andros now she just left. You've been like this for months now! What is wrong with you?"

Karone pushes him away from her and he falls into his seat.

He looks up a little scared when he meets his sister's eyes.

She was hurt.

Andros thought, What did I just do? Why didn't Ashley look as hurt as Karone?

Cassie runs out of the room yells Ashley's name.

Carlos turns to Andros and shakes his head and walks off of the bridge.

TJ and Karone soon follow.

Zhane walks over to Andros, sits next to him and puts a hand on his best friend's shoulder.

"Dude, why did you do it?"

Andros shrugs.

"I don't know but I know I have to fix it right Zhane?"

Zhane nods as Andros gets up and walks towards Ashley's room.

"Andros wait!"

Andros stops in his tracks and turns to Zhane and made a questioning sound.

"What has happened to you? When you gave her the morpher you looked like our old self. Now every since then you have pushed her away. You didn't do this with the others. What did she do to you?"

Andros shrugs

"I guess that's a mystery to us all."

Right then Andros turns and walks down the hall and up the lift towards the living decks.

Once he got there he sees Cassie outside Ashley's door.

"Ash! Just stop and think about this. You can't leave we need you!"

Cassie looks up shocked as she heard footsteps coming towards her.

She is even more surprised to see Andros.

They both jump when something hard hit the inside of Ashley's door.

"I wanted to talk to her." Andros explains.

Cassie nods. "Good luck and hurt her again I will make sure Karone hurts you!"

Cassie turns and walks down the hall soon disappearing.

Andros takes a deep breath and knocks on Ashley's door.

"Go away Cassie!"

"It's not Cassie. It's me can I come in, we need to talk?"

Something soft hit the other side of the door but it still made him jump.

"No! Go away!"

Her voice seems more upset than ever.

Andros never really notices how she shows her emotions but they weren't on her face.

Sometimes they showed through her eyes if she was mad enough.

Andros looks down both sides of the hallway to see if anyone was there.

When he found no one there with him he tries again.

Nicer

"Please let me in, I need to explain."

After a long minute or two the door opens slowly.

When he walks in the room he winces when he sees two duffel bags on the ground.

One almost full with her clothes.

Also he notices a baseball and orange stuffed animal by the door.

Assuming these were the things she threw at the door.

Suddenly he drew a deep breath when he saw Ashley lying on her bed, her face hidden in her pillows.

He could almost hear her sniffling.

Andros is a little worried; he wasn't any good with upset girls.

But he walks closer to her, kneels beside her and puts a hand on her shoulder.

"Ashley? Please look at me. I'm sorry."

"You're not!" She replies.

That hurt Andros. Like someone stabbing his heart.

He didn't know why it affected him so much but he didn't think much of it.

Andros pulls on her shoulder until he could see her face.

Then another stab went straight through his heart.

Her face was stained with tears and her eyes bright pink from crying.

Andros has never seen her cry, remembering that he did this made matters worse for him.

"Ashley I'm really sorry about what I said….."

She closes her eyes and tries to turn away from him but he wouldn't allow it.

"Why are you doing this to me?" She asks.

"What?

"This pushing me away one minute then pulling me back in the next."

Andros sighs, she was right again as always.

"It's because you are innocent. You have that one trait that I've lost long time ago and I see it every time that I see you. I'm afraid you're going to get hurt one day and I don't want to see you get hurt. Also me saying that I was hoping that you would give up and leave wasn't true. I was afraid that one day you would leave and you would take your innocence with you."

Ashley finally looks into his eyes and sees something she'd never seen from him before.

Truthfulness.

"Why do you care about my innocence so much Andros?"

Andros looks down at the floor and blushes.

"Well I have kind of found that I really like seeing it again.

Ashley couldn't help but smile.

"You're so sweet."

She sits up and hugs him, after a second or two she feels his shoulder relax and his arms wrap around her.

Once she pulls away he couldn't read her eyes.

Everything was quiet until she spoke again.

"So what happens now are you going to keep pushing me away like a punching bag, because that's what Zhane is for!"

Andros laughs and shakes his head.

"No. It's not fair for me to treat you like this. I'm sorry for everything."

Ash nods.

Andros then pushes something into her hand.

Once Ashley notices it she laughs.

"I don't know. You seem to be asking a lot out of me."

She turns to look at Andros.

His face is priceless.

She has only seen him use it on his little sister once.

It was a puppy-dog pout that was so cute.

"Fine! I'll stay on one condition."

Andros nods for her to continue.

She waves her hand for him to come closer as he does an evil grin appears on her face.

She starts to whisper something in her ear and once she was done whispering he laughs and nods.

"We can arrange that."

Ashley claps her hands together happily.

Andros just kept laughing.

She places the morpher given to her back on her wrist and clasps the wrap, once she was done she slides her legs over the side of her bed and stands.

Then she begins to put her clothes back into her drawers.

She sees Andros behind her carefully sit on her bed and sigh in relief.

It was Ashley's turn to laugh.

As she turns and leans against her dressers she stares at him.

"What?" She giggles.

Andros shrugs.

"I'm kind of glad I don't have to give you up yet."

"You'll never have to give me up; all I want is to be your friend."

He nods "I like that a lot actually."

They both smiles like idiots for a minute before Ashley opens her closet and kicks both of the bags in it before closing the door and walking to the entrance door.

"Come on it's almost dinner."

The two of them walk side by side up to the hangar bay to find everyone else sitting in there not eating but talking.

They all look up when they heard Andros yell "Ouch!" and Ashley run into the room.

Cassie and Karone look very happy to see their friend smiling widely.

Once Ash hides behind one of the boy's chair, Andros runs into the room loss for breath

Everyone but Ash looked at him confused until he spit out his words.

"She pulled my ponytail!"

At that everyone laughs, even Andros.

Ashley's eyes meet Andros's and he knew that this was the beginning of something.

He didn't know why she had such an effect on him, or why it hurt him so much to see her hurt.

But he did know one thing; she wasn't leaving and she did care.
