HOLY CRAP! I am awesome since this is the 20th chapter o this story which makes me feel so very proud and so happy. I am now going to quote the famous words of Sheldon Cooper: 'My mind just made a baby and it's beautiful!' Yes, this chapter is my happiness and my pride and joy that I am quite sure that you will love this adorable baby. Warning this chapter will contain a fight scene so mentally prepare yourself.
Haruhi's POV:
Jake hasn't called which could mean anything, right? But I'm really starting to get worried because he told me that if he didn't call me then something might've happened. But this might be him playing some kind of sick joke on me as he remembers that I have a tendency to believe the jokes that are made on me.
"My lady, you must wake up. Remember that you have school today." One of the maids reminded me as she opened the curtains and the sunlight portrayed itself all around my room. Which caused me to wince at the brightness as I opened my eyes to look at the maid whom had woken me up.
"Shall I fix the bath for you?" The maid asked as I stretched myself.
"No. I'll do it." I said as I got out of my bed and walked towards my bathroom.
"Yes, my lady." The maid said as she exited my room. I noticed that there was a hint of disappointment in her voice which made me feel a little bit sorry.
Lately all of the servants have been jumpy. And when I say jumpy, it's just to say that they've been looking for an excuse to be around me and to protect me from whatever could try to attack me like if a cat was trying to scratch me, they would get rid of that poor little cat. I know that it was an order from both my grandparents which means that they can't disobey it even if they wanted because my grandparents are the king and queen and I'm the princess which means that my body really does need to be guarded. Because all of the maids and butlers that serve inside of the mansion are low ranked vampire hunters that were chosen to work at the mansion because of their specific abilities.
I turned on the shower head as I brushed my teeth to get rid of the horrid morning taste in my mouth, I discarded away my nightgown and my underwear then I slipped into the shower which was steaming hot so I lowered it a bit and I closed my eyes for a moment to feel the hot water against my skin then I reached for the shampoo and started washing my hair and then the rest of my body. I walked out of the shower to grab a towel and I dried myself off and I went to get changed into my school uniform.
After I got changed, I tied my hair up and I let my fringe fall in front of my face, I noticed that I had eyebags under my eyes so I covered them up with a little makeup and placed a little bit of lip gloss on my lips.
I walked towards the kitchen with my bag and I saw that my grandparents were eating breakfast with my dad which was awfully suspicious since they never wake up so early for breakfast and at the same time that I wake up.
"Good morning." I said as I took place in the dining room as I reached towards the Japanese style cooking that was prepared for today.
"After school, you come directly here. Understood?" My dad said and I looked at him. All life was drained out of his eyes but there was at least a tiny spark of light in them, I get it because he lost the love of his life then his firstborn son and he's afraid of losing his daughter. There were also marks of stress on his body, I noticed that his knuckles were wrapped around by bandages and there was a little bit of blood on them.
"Yes dad." I responded. We were all stressed and worried sick, I just want to stay in my room all day and not come out so I sucked it up. I stopped eating and I got up from my chair.
"Excuse me." I said as I walked towards the front door.
"You're leaving? But you almost didn't eat." My grandmother said.
"I lost my appetite." I responded softly and one of the butlers whom seemed around my age came to grab my bag.
"My lady, I'll be your driver to the academy." The butler stated as he opened the front door for me.
"Thank you." I said kindly as I walked outside and we entered the black Mercedes-Benz and he started driving.
"Can I know your name?" I requested softly.
"Kei. Kei Hikari, Your Highness." Kei responded while never taking his eyes off the road.
"Can you tell me why everyone is acting weirder than usual?" I questioned.
"So I'm not the only one who has noticed that. I haven't been here for the last days, I was visiting my girlfriend back at Hokkaido." Kei said.
"Nice to know." I replied sweetly.
"Well, I believe that everyone that works in the mansion is on their guard since they were all handpicked by the king and queen themselves to protect the future rulers of the hunter world. They feel that they disappointed the king and queen with a job that was even more easier." Kei dictated.
"It's not like they could be in the trunk of Luke's car and wait for the vampire who kidnapped him to try and strike just so they could kill it." I snapped and Kei started laughing.
"I'm sorry, Your Highness, but that couldn't be truer." Kei said and he stopped the car in front of the school gates. "I'll be picking you up at the time that the school finishes."
"Thanks Kei." I said as I closed the door and I walked towards the school entrance and I entered reminding myself that we had an early club meeting. I felt uncomfortable since I had the bad feeling that something was going to happen.
I ran to the clubroom and I noticed that no one was in there, I had checked in the dressing rooms, the kitchen, the cleaning supply closet, better said that I checked everywhere. I dropped my schoolbag on one of the couches. Did I mention that my gun was in there? As I walked around, I started to sense that something was wrong so I turned to my schoolbag wasn't where I left it so I started to look for it but I heard a lock noise coming from the door.
"Didn't your parents teach you to not take dangerous instruments to school?" A voice said and I turned to see Ayanokoji waving my gun in front of me as she was in front of the door.
"What the hell do you want?" I asked as I crossed my arms.
"Oh nothing, Haruhi. I just want to get rid of you." Ayanokoji stated and I noticed that her eyes were a shining red which caused my gaze to flicker towards my gun and she noticed that I wasn't looking at her anymore but instead at the gun.
"Oh, you want this? I'm afraid that you won't get it." Ayanokoji replied and she destroyed it and she started to walk towards me so I tried to run away but before I realized it, one of her hands was twisting my right wrist and the other one of my neck ready to break it at any given moment.
"Now, no one can hear you screaming for air." Ayanokoji whispered in my ear softly which caused my entire body to shudder.
"So you're here to kill me. Why am I not surprised?" I responded sarcastically and her grip suddenly tightened itself and I started to struggle for my life.
"Even if you fight, you won't win. But I'd like to see you try." Ayanokoji guessed so she threw me across the room and I hit one of the vases and it fell down.
"Not again." I groaned as I got up. I ran to the kitchen to look for a knife and I found the knife that I use for cutting the ingredients and I held tightly in my hand and I ran outside and I didn't see her anywhere so I close my eyes and she was behind me so I threw the knife at her and it entered her shoulder.
"WAH! You little bitch!" Ayanokoji screeched at me as she threw the knife back at me but I caught it and I placed it on a wooden table to keep it and we both started fighting. You know, girl fight but this was an extreme girl fight that you know that wasn't going to end well. I threw a punch to her nose which she caught and she bended it back but I pulled her hair with my other hand and I slammed her face against the wall but then she kicked my stomach, she then kneed my face. I kicked her face twice but then she pulled my hair backwards which caused me to scream out in pain and then she slammed my face into the window that made the window crack but then throw me across the room once more. When I got myself up, I ran towards her but when I almost reached her, I threw myself to the floor and I placed my legs under hers so I'd pull her down with me so I got top of her and I held the knife on top of her heart.
"What do you know about Luke Blanchard?" I screamed at her while breathing heavily in her face while my hair had partially fallen out of it's ponytail so it was all over my face, some blood portruded out of my nose and the top of my head which fell on top of her cheek. But it was amazing that she didn't go psychotic when she saw the blood or felt it on top of her skin but instead her gaze was cold and it was concentrating on something on my face.
"I'm sorry but I don't know anything." Ayanokoji responded coldly and my bow had suddenly started choking me which caused me to drop the knife and to stand up to try and get it off of me.
"Oh, you forgot that vampires have abilities or that you shouldn't wear a tie or a bow when fighting a high-class vampire." Ayanokoji reminded as I had a difficulty with breathing because my bow was trying to murder me so I fell to my knees while trying to reach the knife. I knew that if I blacked out while being in the same room as a vampire, I would never wake up again so I increased my will to fight her but I felt it slipping away from my grip.
"I've heard that hunter blood is irresistible but I doubt that I could drink yours since I hate you." Ayanokoji stated with a cold tone of voice as she grabbed the knife then she pushed me to the floor and she stopped choking me but then she pressed the knife to my neck.
"But your racing heartbeat is something that's persuading me to drink it. You're not scared which doesn't surprise me." Ayanokoji pointed out as she waved her hand and the bow started choking me again and I tried to pry it away from my neck but it just seemed to get tighter around my neck.
I felt Ayanokoji's hands go over my skirt to reach my leg and pulling it up to her so she could do what she wanted with it then I felt a sharp pain which caused me to twist in pain and to scream. I looked to the source of my pain which was my thigh that had the knife in it and Ayanokoji whom was staring at it then pulled the knife out of my thigh. She looked down at me and she licked the blood that was on the knife and smiled a sadistic smile on her face which caused me to look the other way.
"Though I thought that your blood tasted disgusting, it seems as though I was wrong. It's exquisite if you ask me. Like the most finest wine." Ayanokoji complimented me as all feeling left my leg but I felt her tongue going over the wound and my world was spinning around and I started seeing black spots.
"You're already slipping away from me, aren't you bitch? I can't allow that, I need you to be awake for me so I'll stop choking you for now." Ayanokoji mumbled as she waved her hand to dismiss the choking bow of my neck, I was breathing even more heavily.
"You... Were sent to... Try and kill me, weren't you." I said in between breathing as I felt Ayanokoji licking the blood off my thigh.
"No. I'm doing this on own will. I don't care if someone from the higher ups comes to kill me since I always wanted to kill you with my own two hands. You're the first person I've hated enough that I've come to kill you with my own hands." Ayanokoji related.
"Oh really." I breathed out.
Dad, I know that I promised to come home safe so you won't be alone and sad for the rest of your day and probably the rest of your life but I feel like I'm going to die away and I know that if I do that then you are going to be sad so I have to live.
I looked from the corner of my eye for something that could help me in my most dire moment of life and I saw my silver cross from my bag a few stretches away and I tried to reach it while Ayanokoji was distracted with my leg and I grabbed it tightly that made my knuckles go white and I kicked her in the face and I stabbed her in the neck with the cross and I wrapped the cross around the knife then I stabbed her in the chest 3 times and she stopped moving.
"I finally did it." I said as I stumbled back and I dragged myself on the floor to reach my phone and when I reached it, I dialed my father's number.
"Hello?" My dad questioned as he answered the phone.
"Dad come and get me at school. I've just ended up killing a vampire that attacked me at school and I look terrible to walk outside." I explained as I tried to get up from the floor.
"I'll be right there." Dad responded and I hung up as I looked outside the window. I knew that when the guys came and saw this mess, there was a bunch of blood everywhere and most of it was mine of course, they would know what the hell happened here and I couldn't bear with myself to tell them all of this.
I limped towards Ayanokoji and I closed her eyes since I decided that she deserved at least that. I removed the knife out of her chest and I unwrapped the cross from the knife and I placed it right in my schoolbag and I heard the door knock.
"Who is it?" I questioned while walking close to the door.
"Dad." My dad said and I opened the door to see him safe and sound and he walked inside the clubroom and saw the entire mess that showed what I was capable of when I was fighting for my life.
"What is in the bag?" I asked as I noticed the bag that he was holding.
"What you'll wear right now." My dad said and it was a long black coat with black high heel boots with a black hat that overshadowed my face.
"Okay." I replied as I placed the things on myself and when we walked outside the clubroom, I locked the door but I sticked a paper sign that said that we weren't going to be open today and we walked towards the car.
"You're injured, aren't you?" Dad asked me and I nodded.
"Yeah. I almost got choked like around 3 times, my hair hurts a lot, my stomach feels bruised and I got stabbed in the thigh." I replied softly as I took off the hat that I was wearing.
"Thank God that you are okay." Dad said.
"It's because of him that I'm still alive, Otou-san." I said while reaching in my pocket to reveal my bloody cross.
"You are the only hunter that I know uses it's cross to kill a vampire." Dad said as he hugged me and I hugged him back.
"Let's go home." I stated as he started driving home. The moment we arrived, I was practically dragged to the bathroom where all the maids went to disinfect my wounds and ask me what kind of fighting techniques did I use against Ayanokoji-san. I was then taken to my grandfather's study where both my father and my grandmother was in there. I was wearing a light blue knee length dress that fitted me on the top but then fell loosely and swayed with every movement I made.
"What's wrong?" I questioned and I was abruptly embraced by my grandmother.
"Dieu merci que vous êtes d'accord. Ma chère enfant, je vous promets que vous êtes en sécurité maintenant." She prayed in french.
"I'm okay and safe." I assured.
"Good." I felt her tears on my neck. She must've been worried sick about me in that moment.
"Sweetie." My grandfather said.
"oh yes. Tell her what happened in the forest." Grandmother said.
"One of our weapons bases were ransacked and the guards that were guarding it were all murdered that same usual vampire way. Neck rwisted and blooddrained." My grandfather said. "But its nothing you should worry about right now, Haruhi. The important thing is that you are safe."
"Yeah. I'm going to go rest." I said as I departed the room.
"Yes you should." My grandmother said and I walked towards my room and when I got there, I slipped myself into my bed and sleep came to me as fast as it could due to the fact that I was rather very tired.
Narrator's POV:
As Haruhi fell to sleep, the guys were arriving to the school not in their uniforms but in normal clothes.
"So Haruhi was here and she suspected that we weren't coming so she closed the club without consulting us." Tamaki whined as he read the note over and over again.
"Something happened in there." Mori said.
"Kyouya, unlock the door." Tamaki said as Kyouya grabbed the key and opened it and the 6 of them were surprised by the scent of blood.
"This... Is... Haruhi's blood." Kyouya said as they walked inside with the twins locking the door behing him. They saw the fight marks, stains of blood practically anything, the bloody wall.
"Apparently someone got into a cat fight." Hikaru said as he looked at the window that was cracked with blood.
"And someone had tried to finish someone off but ended up being killed." Tamaki explained as he looked at Ayanokoji.
"This all points out that Haruhi and Ayanokoji-san had gotten in a small fight that ended up in her being finished off by Haruhi." Kyouya stated as he grabbed the knife that had killed Ayanokoji and stared at it.
"How about we pay our little guest a visit?" Kaoru suggested. "Since he might know what Haruhi is capable about?"
"Sure, let's pay Jacob a visit." Hikaru replied happily.
"I'll have this place cleaned up. And I'll also inform the Ayanokoji clan about their daughter." Kyouya informed.
They all went to the twins' mansion which seemed to be rather grand if you asked me and they all entered and they made a beeline to the family's backyard that had a prisoner retainment center and they all entered, when they reached the end, there was Jacob chained up and swinging there like he doesn't care. He was shirtless and there were whip marks all over his back and some parts of his chest were also whipped.
"Hey bastards." Jacob said sarcastically.
"I have a question for you." Tamaki said.
"What is it?" Jacob snapped.
"How terrible can a hunter be when it's fighting hand to hand for his/her life?" Tamaki questioned.
"They have no mercy. They won't stop until whatever or whoever was trying to kill them is dead. So I presume that she tried to kill you guys because if she did, then that made her even hotter." Jacob joked.
"No. An acquaintance of ours died." Kyouya said.
"Huh, it seems like you aren't scared of her." Jacob said and Hikaru made a flame of fire appear on his hand.
"So are you going to tell us now why were you at Haruhi's?" Kaoru questioned as Hikaru got closer to Jacob's.
"Nope. Not even close." Jacob denied happily and Hikaru placed the flame on one of his open wounds.
"AGHHHHHHHH!" Jacob screamed out of pain but then silenced himself.
"I have to make sure that they don't find out. Which means that I'll have to endure all of this. But Haruhi, please get away from these guys and this place before its too late." Jacob thought as another flame was placed by another open wound of his.
