HEY MY PEERS! I'm back with a new chapter despite the fact that its short but next chapter's will be longer than the rest of all the past ones that I've uploaded! This one will be short due to the fact that I'm getting near to final exams and in my country we have a new test that's supposed see if we're smart or dumb, yay (sarcasm) but i'm going to finish school so its fine with me! Hope you enjoy the chapter!
Haruhi remained in her room after the entire news that Luke had given her about Eclair, Haruhi's resolve came the resolution that once she returned to Russia with a fiance, she would tell her grandparents that she no longer needed a bodyguard. Though she would need to be okay with the idea of finding a husband, because that would be hard.
"My lady, are you well? Do you need some medicine?" A maid asked Haruhi whom looked quite lifeless while she just looked at the maids who were packing up her clothes.
"No. I don't need medicine, I'm fine. Thank you, Ruby."
"Haruhi, you will meet young hunters from around your age group that are from strong regal bloodlines, mostly like mixes. The only one that we don't include are vampires of course." Antonia expressed as she pointed at which clothes that Haruhi should take with her to Russia.
"Why am I going alone?" Haruhi asked and Antonia stared at her with condescending eyes.
"The function of this meeting is for all the heirs of the most powerful hunter families to meet and find people with the same qualities as them. It is also to help them make connections with people from other countries than them. And besides, its the only way that they can meet without being influenced by family members and that's why you are going alone because if your grandfather goes with you, and knowing him he might try to persuade you into choosing your suitor for you." Antonia explained to Haruhi who just nodded her head at the explanation given to her.
"I see. When is my plane leaving, grandmother?"
"The private plane is leaving at 5 am, so you need to arrive at the platform around 4:30. Is there something bothering you?" Haruhi stared at her grandmother with bewilderment in her eyes as she saw herself face to face with a stern look from her grandmother.
"What do you mean?" Haruhi asked.
"You're not the same, ever since you arrived from the salon, you've been distant. What happened?" The maids had already left the room as Haruhi fidgeted between telling her grandmother the truth or just lie to her.
"When I was walking around, I saw Luke once more." Haruhi stopped to look at Antonia who wore a bewildered expression on her face. "But before you say anything, he's not evil. He's still the same airheaded idiot from before, just that he can now live forever and run faster than any of us can. He's sorry that he couldn't tell us himself what happened to him, he told me that he died trying to protect someone he cares about and that he wasn't turned into a vampire just so his death could unbalance us, he just regrets not being able to talk to Dad, Grandfather and you."
Haruhi looked at her grandmother whom had started to tear up at her granddaughter's confession, she lamented not being able to see Luke once more before he was turned into a vampire. Antonia hugged Haruhi whom had also started crying.
"It's okay. I wish I could talk to him, face to face. But it will have to wait, now you have to get some rest before your plane ride. Going to Russia tires a person out so I hope that you can rest. Now if you'll allow me, I will go and tell your father the good news." Haruhi stopped her grandmother from getting closer to the door by grabbing her wrist. "What's wrong?"
"Is Eclair here?"
"No, she is not. She said that she was going to visit someone she knows for information about the vampire world." Antonia seemed confused at Haruhi's behavior towards Eclair.
"Don't trust her. Luke told me about her when I told him that she was my bodyguard, he told me that she wasn't supposed to be trusted. She used to be a freelance assassin for both vampire and hunters until the Ootori family hired her and after they hired her, she ended up here. Isn't it a little suspicious?" Antonia seemed deep in thought as she listened to her granddaughter speak.
"I'll look into her history. Now, I'll go talk to your grandfather and father, so just rest. I'll see you in the morning before you part." Haruhi nodded after her grandmother left, she walked towards her dresser and found her nightgown. After she put it on, she walked towards her bed to lie down and sleep.
Tamaki stared at the files that Kyouya's private investigators had managed to find about the Blanchard's, both he and Kyouya were reading the files about the current hunter ball that the Blanchard's were hosting with the sole purpose of finding a suitable suitor for Haruhi; one that could be able to be strong enough for the people and how could fight wars but also one that was a purebred.
"It's amazing the lengths that the Blanchards go through just to assure that they can have a successful bloodline." Kyouya gave his opinion as he threw the file that he was reading towards the table.
"After Luke Blanchard's disappearance, they decided that they might not see him alive so they knew that they were going to have to reside into making Haruhi the next direct heir. Which obviously makes her the person who must get married to finally succeed the throne." Tamaki finished.
"Do you think that she wants to do this?" Tamaki stopped as he listened to Kyouya's question. "She must feel as though she has a duty to fulfill, even if she doesn't want to."
"It's a royal duty apparently. She would rather marry someone that she just met just for the sake of her people. And she's doing it voluntarily." Tamaki's words resounded in Kyouya's head. "But how would you feel like if we visited Haruhi in Russia? We already know the location of the mansion where she's going to stay and besides she leaves this morning so we'll be there before she does."
"It sounds like a good idea though she might punch us in the face."
"Or worse, she'll try to kill us." Tamaki laughed at his comrade's comment.
