Finally a long chapter! I managed to get this one done because I don't have any distracting wi-fi because my dad hasn't paid the bill and I'm leeching off my grandparents wi-fi! Well, I hope that you enjoy and review so I can have my 200 reviews!
Haruhi walked out of the plane with a long black jacket to cover up her small frame from the severe Russian cold, she walked along with 4 bodyguards surrounding her. The reason why she walked with 4 bodyguards surrounding her was due to the fact that somehow a leak was spilled on the fact that the hunter princess was going to travel to Russia so she had started to receive attacks from the vampire community so the measure was taken for her protection.
Haruhi was captivated with the falling snow that she was seeing, though she was seeing it through the windows of the airport, as she had never seen snow in another country, she was capitvated by how beautiful Russia looked with the snow covering all of it.
"Your Highness, we must get going to the mansion." One of the bodyguards said to Haruhi as they walked out of the airport, Haruhi nodded as they guided her to the car that had been provided for her. The car ride was quiet in the majority of it with Haruhi getting excited with seeing the Russian attractions, her bodyguards were delighted that they managed to lighten up the princess' mood. They once arrived to the Blanchard mansion that was a large size that seemed like it could fit over 300 people.
"My lady." One of the bodyguards extended his hand for Haruhi to grab it so she could get out of the car, she looked around the family grounds.
"Thank you." Haruhi thanked as she walked out while smiling at her bodyguards, she entered the house and she was greeted by the heat of the home in which she was supposed to reside in for the week. She was greeted by many maids whom seemed to struggle with Japanese language.
"Can you show me to where my room is?" The maid she asked just nodded and started to lead Haruhi towards her room. Her room was almost like hers back in Japan except for the fact that it had much more blankets, there were a large amount of winter clothes in her closet. Haruhi dropped herself on her bed to look up at the ceiling with quiet awe, herself feeling a bit drowsy due to the fact that she was studying on proper manners in a ballroom so she wouldn't ridicule herself in front of many people.
"Tomorrow night I have to look for a husband. This is the worse way to meet him." Haruhi mumbled to herself as she grabbed her laptop while she laid down upon the bed. She stared at all the male hunters that were going to attend the ball, Haruhi honestly saw it as some sort of speed-dating as she was supposed to talk to all of those males for a limited time. Haruhi shut her laptop once she finished reading the profiles of all her potential fiancés, sighing in exasperation just to lie down once more on the bed, once her head fell on the pillow, she was lulled to sleep instantly.
Haruhi found herself in a ballroom, but the setting was different; the ballroom's chandeliers were illuminated by candles instead of ordinary lightbulbs, there were no cellphones to distract the majority of the guests of the party, and the clothing was of a different era of time most likely to be from only a few years ago. She looked down the stairs. 'Why is it that when I'm in some sort of flashback, I'm always in the second floor of the building?' and she saw a younger version of her father. Her father looked much like Luke did right now, having short slicked back light honey brown hair along with a pair of electic blue eyes, along with having quite the manly figure. He seemed like the perfect prince for the royal family, Haruhi noticed that he was not wearing his wedding ring on his left hand's ring finger, it was then that she noticed that this was the ball that her grandparents hosted for him when he was in the eligible age for choosing a wife before he could ascend to the throne. Knowing that, she started to look around the room for at least a glimpse of her own mother.
"Kotoko, you do know that you should be trying to hit on the prince and make him fall down to your knees?" An annoyed male voice said from beside her and she saw that it was her uncle and standing next to him, was her mother who eating a plate of what looked like fancy tuna. She wore a beautiful snow white dress that revealed her cleavage but was still holded up by two straps, the skirt of the dress was puffy but not too much so she wouldn't be able to walk while the top part of the dress was embedded with diamonds all around it. Her long auburn brown hair was styled in a wavy fashion which was styled to her side along with being decorated by many small diamonds, she wore a snowflake shaped necklace. Haruhi had to admit that she knew who she got her looks from.
"I don't want to seduce the prince into wanting me as his wife. I'm fine with being who I am." Her mother replied.
"Along with eating a plate filled with fancy tuna."
"Its an exquisite Oriental dish that people like you and I could never taste." Haruhi giggled at her mother's response.
"Mom is so going to kill you when she hears that you didn't even try to make a move on the prince just because you wanted to eat fancy tuna."
"Who's going to tell her? You?" Haruhi moved her attention from the bickering people who were her mother and uncle when they were about her age towards her father whom was talking to a girl until he dismissed her to go stand at the balcony.
"There's your chance, Kotoko! Now go and try to be his friend at least." Her uncle pulled her mother down the stairway towards the door to the balcony in which her father was perched while Haruhi just followed since she wanted to see how it was portrayed. "Go!" Her mother sighed and walked outside to the balcony, standing next to her father and looking around the castle grounds absentmindedly, her father stared at the strange woman who entered the balcony with him.
"Don't mind me. I'm not here to seduce you if that's what you think." Kotoko claimed once she felt Ryoji's gaze on her. "I just wanted to see the scenery. It's very different from the scenery in Romania."
"You're from Romania?" Ryoji asked curious. "Are you the daughter of the Valerious family?"
"Yeah, are you the prince?" Kotoko joked with a bluff.
"You really don't care about getting married, do you?"
"Why would I? Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of wearing a frilly white dress down the aisle with all of my family and friends watching me and saying my vows to one person that I'll love for my life but I need to finish my career." Kotoko replied with a stern look on her face.
"What are you studying?" Ryoji asked Kotoko.
"I'm majoring in law. I'm going to study criminal law after I end the necessary studies." Haruhi stared shocked at the determination of her mother.
"I'm studying medicine. I want to be a neurology surgeon."
"That's great. Well, I have to go because I'm really hungry. Oh I wasn't supposed to say that. I have a high metabolism and I like food a lot."
"Want to go get food together? If you don't want to then I'll go alone, and we'll meet again at the food table so it doesn't matter." Ryoji asked nervously. Haruhi could obviously see that he liked her mother and wanted to get to know her better.
"Sure, why not."
'Is this some kind of dream that's telling me that I should just act like myself with the guy that I feel most comfortable with?'
Haruhi woke up from her dream realizing that she shouldn't be so worried about the whole ball thing so she felt like if a heavy load was removed from her shoulders. She walked outside of her room to see all the staff running frantically to decorate the mansion for the ball that was going to take place later in the evening. She could hear the frantic yelling of the decorators around the entire house along with the stomping of the maids around the house. She smiled to herself before going in the search for food before she pushed back into her room so she could eat in there, being told that they had strict orders from her grandparents that the ball had to be a surprise for her.
So she took her time in reading a few books in Russian so she'd be able to understand the language better before she started to indulge into learning new languages. Before she knew it, it was already 4 in the afternoon and she needed to start getting ready. An army of stylists from France that came in the plane with her barged into the room with the intentions of doing all they could to make Haruhi look absolutely breathtaking, they dragged her into the bath not allowing her to bathe herself. Haruhi was then taken to the stylists so they could decide on what hairstyle that they were going to accommodate onto her head.
"Don't give me a ridiculous hairstyle." Haruhi reprimanded the stylists before they did something to her hair that she was most certainly not going to enjoy. After 3 hours of being dressed up, Haruhi was finally finished.
She wore a dark pink dress, the top part had a heartshaped style along with showing some of her cleavage and it was strapless, the skirt had a small amount of volume in it that allowed Haruhi to still be able to walk but it was still puffy. The embroidery on the top part was with golden vines that went down to the skirt area of the dress, so it could match with the jewelry that was placed onto her neck. Her hair was styled in a simple but stylish way as it was let down to fall in curly waves along her hair but some of her hair was pulled back to make a small ponytail with a golden crest of the ponytail and then they placed the crown on the top of her head.
"Thank you." Haruhi thanked the leaving stylists as they were going to allow her to have a few minutes for herself. Haruhi started pacing around the room, nervous for how the evening was going to end. She looked out the window to see the amount of female and male guests arriving to the estate, she paced back to her cellphone and dialed a specific number.
"Hello, this is Jacob Swan talking." Haruhi sighed with happiness when she heard the voice of the person whom was absent for the majority of the most recent months of the year.
"Hey, its Haruhi."
"I'm so glad that you're okay even if you're calling at 1:30 am! I've been dieing to hear from you once more, I'm being bedridden ever since they found me."
"Well, I've been missing you too." Haruhi smiled as she sat down on her bed.
"I heard that you're going to go find a husband at the ball that they hold for you." Haruhi noticed the disappointment in Jake's voice.
"Yeah, actually its tonight." Haruhi replied.
"Really? Don't they think that its too early for you? To... You know... Get married?" Haruhi wanted to tell all of her fears to Jake but she kept it in because she knew that she might break into tears.
"The hunters need hope. After my mom died; they lost a little hope, now that Luke's a vampire; they really need me to do this. Even if I don't want it, but I just might meet the love of my life." Haruhi spoke with a soft voice to the phone.
"Even if you might end up miserable, you are still going to do this? You really want to have a commitment to your people."
"Yeah."
"Just remember that I will always love you for who you are. And when I get out of this bed, I'm going to go get you and tell you how much I love you and want to be with you despite everything." Haruhi felt how tears started to stream down her face.
"I love you too, Jake."
"I know." There was a knock on the door that was signaling Haruhi that she had to leave.
"I have to go." Haruhi said as she wiped away her tears.
"Call me later when you've found Mr. Right." Jake mocked through the phone causing Haruhi to laugh.
"I don't think that I'll find him tonight. Bye." Haruhi gave her simple farewell through her phone.
"Bye." Haruhi got up from her couch when she hung up the phone placing it in her handbag before walking out the doors hearing that she was about to be announced to the guests of the ball of her arrival. She walked through the doors once she heard that she was being announced, she saw that there were many teenage girls and boys looking up in her direction. Many of the girls were looking at her with the desire of wanting to talk to her while she perceived in the eyes of the boys that they wanted to solely seduce her into choosing them but Haruhi knew that for them, it wasn't going to be easy.
She walked down the stairway and she was instantly flocked by both males and females until she was dragged away by a group of girls towards a corner.
"Its amazing to be in the same room as you." One of the girls squealed with happiness as she sized Haruhi up. Haruhi took a good look at her seeing that she had long blonde hair that was tied up into a messy bun while her monochromatic blue and brown eyes flashed with happiness, her dress was a forest green that suited her well.
"Nice to know that you want to meet me." Haruhi replied. And that's how the evening proceeded, she met amounts of girls that wanted to be her friend along with countless amounts of men that wanted to hook up with her. She got tired of it by the end of the evening, so she ran away to the garden's gazebo that was decorated in a nice way along with being adorned with the soft Russian snow that fell down that evening. She didn't expect to meet with a man whom seemed reserved and was reading a book.
"Hi?" His head whipped back up to where Haruhi's face was and he stood there petrified as he felt like he couldn't move. While Haruhi stared at him with a confused look on her face but she decided to size up his looks. His head was a raven black that was slicked back but a few strands fell in front of his forehead, his eyes were a forest green tone that had surprise all over them but they were hidden by a pair of rimmed glasses, his skin tone was a pale one that suggested that he didn't do much sports except that he had quite the strong build that meant that he did a lot of training. He was wearing the typical suit for a special event that looked good on him.
"You're reading 'Beautiful Creatures'? I liked it but I almost didn't watch the movie adaptation." Haruhi commented as she sat down with the boy in the gazebo. "Do you not understand English? Or do you want me to speak another language?"
"No, no, no! I'm sorry! I was just stunned by your presence and... Beauty." The boy whispered under his breath the last word, he extended his hand towards Haruhi's whom held it and he pulled it up to his lips. "My name is Christian Kirkland, I'm from England. It's nice to meet you, Princess Rosalie."
"Nice to meet you too, Christian." Haruhi smiled. "Why aren't you with everyone else back in the ballroom?"
"Because I don't like to be in spaces with a lot of people."
"I see." Haruhi knew that it was going to be an awkward situation.
"Where are you from, Princess Rosalie?"
"Just call me Rosalie. I don't need the 'princess' to go before my name all the time." Haruhi laughed. "I was born and raised in Japan, and until recently I've been living in France."
"I've been to Japan. Its really pretty."
"Have you been there when the sakura blossoms are blooming? Its beautiful." Haruhi remembered when she would go with her mother to watch them bloom.
"No. I've only gone there in the winter. Word of advice, don't go to England in the winter, you'll only see rain and more rain."
"I'll take it." Haruhi shuddered from the cold that was striking her.
"Are you cold?" Christian asked as he saw how Haruhi's arms went to her sides to try warm herself up.
"A little bit. Well, I shouldn't have left my room without my coat." Haruhi smiled as she tried desperately to maintain heat but she didn't expect to feel how Christian wrapped his suit blazer around her small frame.
"Have my jacket. You need it more than I do."
"Thanks."
After that small exchange, they both talked about whatever they wanted. Haruhi felt like she was being a bit relieved from all the talking with him.
"What did you think about this whole ordeal about having to meet your fiance here?" Christian asked Haruhi whom stared at him.
"I thought that it is a complete and utter joke. How are you supposed to meet someone who you want to be with in just like 6 hours and then say that he's the one that you want to marry? It's illogical." Haruhi reasoned with a pissed look on her face.
"I know, right? But that's the way how they've been doing it for years now so they've grown accustomed to doing it." Christian commented. "Oh, look. Everyone's leaving."
"You're right." Both Christian and Haruhi got up from their seats in the gazebo and they walked towards the doors that leaded back into the ballroom in which many were leaving. Haruhi took off Christian's jacket from her shoulders and she gave it to him.
"Thanks." Haruhi smiled as he blushed when she gave it back to him.
"I would like to do this again." Haruhi smiled.
"Me too."
Okay, before we get in any misunderstandings, Christian is a good guy and he doesn't want Haruhi to like him just because she's the princess. He actually cares about her and he wants her to be happy whether with him or any one else. I'm also going to make a timeskip of 6 months from this chapter to the next because I want to rush the storyline because I have a lot of ideas that I need to get out.
All of you who have read the chapter have to review so I can feel that my story is actually liked by people! And I might update earlier than usual.
