I'M BACK~! I know, I'm a bitch.
Every time I say I'm going to work on this, I never do end up working on this. Is the universe punishing me for not finishing writing this when i had more free time?
So I'm sorry for once again disappointing you guys.
Please read and I hope that you guys enjoy this furball that I managed to work on.
Haruhi groaned as she opened her eyes; her stomach feeling like it had been stabbed over a hundred times, her throat feeling as it had been used by a cat to be a scratching post, her head felt as if someone had banged it on the hard surface of anything several times and conclusively her body felt as if a truck had ran over it and backed up to keep running over it. She heard various voices mumble around her before she raised her hand requesting for them to silence while she focused on opening her eyes that seemed to be shut closed with glue or something of the sort, Haruhi had tried to sit up on the bed but had only managed to fall back onto the bed –her entire body had spiked up due to the pain- and she felt calloused yet soft dainty hands gently helping her to sit up on the bed and leaning her on the headboard –also this was an action that her head rejected completely-.
"Haruhi, are you okay?" The voice sounded muffled as though she had been in an explosion and her inner ear had been damaged due to the sound but soon her ears seemed to answer the order that her brain was giving them and were making sure that Haruhi could recognize. She opened her mouth to speak but she started coughing roughly and felt as though she was dying, suddenly someone had tilted her head upwards to help her drink the water that she was being given. She opened her eyes slowly and after her eyes had decided to stop rejecting all light and finally convert that light into images for her brain to process, she noticed that the person who was helping her was Alexandria who smiled at her when she noticed that Haruhi had opened her eyes and that they were focused on her.
"And the princess lives." Alexandria hummed as she fixed the blanket that was draped on Haruhi before sitting down next to her. "You scared us all."
"Wh-wha-what happened?" Haruhi started out slowly. "Why do I feel as though I got dragged to hell and back?"
Alexandria bit her lower lip as she thought about how to break the news to Haruhi that someone had tried to poison/kill her at her engagement party; a happy event. She let go of her lips before she said it. "You were poisoned. It was raw vampire blood, strengthened to the point that it would be effective to kill you if you hadn't had any immediate medical attention but thankfully there were almost 100 doctors in the event."
"Did they send thanks to the doctors?" Alexandria couldn't help but laugh and cry at Haruhi still being concerned if they had been courteous to the doctors that had contributed to saving her life rather than the fact that she had almost died by treason.
"You have to be a little bit more selfish as a queen. You're allowed to have your wants and likes, you know that?" Alexandria mused as she wiped the tear tracks on her cheeks with the back of her hand. "You think so much of others but never yourself."
"What happened after I lost consciousness?" Haruhi questioned to her friend ignoring the words that Alexandria had murmured. "Did they find the vampire who did this to me?"
"They did." Alexandria hummed as she looked at Haruhi who looked so pale and fragile but she was still oh so beautiful, not even after Death had knocked at her doors did she look terrible; if she died, she would look like a porcelain doll. "Christian and Jake worked together to find him and capture him. It was easy for them; the vampire was cocky thus learning that he shouldn't have been so cocky and they learned a lesson in teamwork and not letting your emotions get in your way."
Haruhi smiled softly as the door opened and the doctor came in with her grandparents and father in tow. Alexandria lifted herself from her seat and bowed out of respect for the arrival of the royals who bowed back in respect before turning all of their attentions onto the girl who was being examined by the doctor who seemed relieved that Haruhi seemed well.
"How do you feel, Your Highness?" The doctor questioned as he pressed the stethoscope onto Haruhi's chest and murmured that he wanted her to inhale and exhale as slowly as she could.
"Like I was trampled by a horse, then thrown into the ocean where a shark maimed me and eventually got thrown into space." Haruhi replied with a deadpan expression and tone in her voice.
"She's getting better." The doctor replied with a smile. "Thankfully, we managed to purge and cleanse her stomach before the vampire blood could fully be effective. You'll be weak for a while Your Highness but your healing factor will soon kick in and you'll be perfectly fine."
"Thank you doctor Martell." Her grandfather spoke with a weak smile on his face. "I grant you your leave."
"Thank you, Your Grace." The doctor bowed before he took his leave.
"What are you going to do now?" Haruhi asked as she looked at her family members, her father walking towards her and embracing her a tender hug as she felt some tears wet the shirt that she was wearing. Her grandmother coming close, kissing her on the forehead and showing her that she was leaving her phone on the bedtable. "What happened to me was treason by the vampires, we know that they would do anything to get rid of us. What course of action shall we take?"
"We shall declare war." Her grandmother had spoken up making Haruhi look at her, confusion evident in her face but eventually it had subsided.
"I understand. It was a grand fault by their hand." Haruhi spoke with understanding evident in her voice. I'm not stupid, even I wouldn't forget this kind of offense especially since they've been doing this for a long time. I wonder if they knew about this, I need to know.
"We'll leave you to rest, okay?" Haruhi nodded and everyone evacuated the room leaving her alone but she could hear her grandfather commanding guards to stay posted at her room, the roof and under her balcony, she bit her lip considering what she was about to do but decided that she didn't care and she should get it over with. She moved her hand slowly towards the bedtable grabbing her phone, once it was in close proximity to her face where she could read the words without needing her eye contacts; she entered her contacts and looked for a number in specific: Kyouya-sempai. A bitter taste filled her mouth as she dialed the number hoping that her heart wouldn't fail her in this auditory confrontation and also that he hadn't changed his number.
"Hello?"
Haruhi's heart wanted to stop beating when she heard Kyouya's voice; his stern -always eloquent- voice sounding hopeful and strong at the same time. She didn't want to do this but she had to.
"Hi Kyouya-sempai, I just have one question for you." Haruhi started out hoping that her voice didn't sound too weak that it would betray her. "Did you know?"
"Did I know what, Haruhi?" Kyouya replied sounding confused. "Also it's nice to hear from you again."
"Did you know that an assassin would be sent to my engagement party/gala/whatever to poison me with strengthened vampire blood so I would die in pain?" Haruhi answered, her voice sounding like cold steel. "Did you know?"
"What?!" Kyouya sounded startled before he started saying. "Haruhi, I would never be involved in a plot to end your life. You know this. You know that I love you."
"I only wanted to ask you if you knew. And I'm warning you that my family and my people have had enough and will wage war on you, the next time you and I see each other it might be on a battlefield." Haruhi continued using the cold tone to her voice, knowing that it was more effective. "If you love me, please hide somewhere. I don't want to fight you but I will if I have to. Goodbye Kyouya."
Haruhi hung up the call and instantly blocked the number, Haruhi placed the phone back on the bedtable. She placed her face in her hands and allowed herself to cry for the last time when it came to her vampire friends who possessed her heart.
